I didnt bother to read what the guy wrote. It is irrelevant. The federal government should give us Igbos a referendum let us decide our fate! The days of "we must be together at all cost" are long gone.

You accuse me of long essay and you respond with Long essay and still you miss the point. You people are too emotional, emotion and sense don't go hand in hand and this is why you always lose your battles! That is the point I am trying to get across to you. If my wife says she wants to go I say there is the door please goooo, why is she still in my house shouting I will leave you? Because she has no plan!!! David did not slay Goliath by taking him on in a fist fight and making noise, it's a battle he couldn't win so he engaged his brain and found a strategic way to acheive his goal. If my wife wants to leave she will start to make plans for how she will execute the leaving, maybe she will start to put money aside, get another side man, maybe find one house she can move to, then when she is ready, she will leave and that's it. You start engaging in sentimental emotional mud-slinging...how does that help your cause? We know you want to leave, I am not begging you to stay. let me assure you if I were president I would grant your wish without any bloodshed but I am not and how does making noise, abusing Hausa and Yoruba on internet acheive your goal? We want to go, we want to go, Afronja, Brown roof, we don hear but your are still here. Biafra Biafra, IpoB IpoB, hoist flag you are still here, 1m dead in 1st war, your are still here, 40 years later, Nnamdi Kanu, Ipob, hoist flag again , make noise, 250 dead, guess what? You are still f^cking here, shouting, making noise, beating chest and no closer to leaving. Much as I understand your right to self determination, youve become a bit of a joke, truth be told. I find it amazing that people say they want to leave Nigeria but they are all in Lagos making Lagos richer, wont you go home and develop your place? no! Every day more are coming to Lagos they want to buy property in Banana, Ibos own more land In Lagos than Yprubas themselves. What will happen to all this properties when you leave by force? If you do not think before you act and are too emotional then you are bound to fail in a mission that requires strategic thinking in a mission that requires strategic planning. Like I said you do not show your hand before it's time to play because your opponent has time to neutralise you. The wife who is shouting she wants to leave long before she has a plan has shot herself in the foot. Because I will be working to make sure when she leaves she can't take away my assets, she has given me time to hide them and to make sure even if she comes back I dont buy any property in her name. One of the consequences of your failed attempt to secede in 1967 is that you are weaker in the union than you were before the war. This your movement cannot afford to fail because you will be weaker than you are today if you fail!! All I am saying is use your brains!!!!!
If your wife said she want to go, you would point to the door and tell her to feel free to go. Unfortunately, Nigeria doesnt share the same sentiment. Im 1967, Igbos declared their independence and left in their millions to go back home. Nigeria came down to the East where people were enjoying their new found freedom to kill millions. David was in his home at peace, Goliath went into Davids house to fight him that they must be together.

If Nigeria formally recognises the rights of Igbos to their own country and grants it, then Igbos will go to their new country just like they did before. But you cannot be shouting 'one Nigeria', denying the people their right to self determination and at the same time wonder what Igbos are still doing in Lagos. You cant eat your cake and have it, you cant push a person down and at the same time take away the ground they will fall on to. Even if there is Biafra tomorow Igbos will still be buying land in Banana Island same as other non Nigerians such as Chinese and Indians are doing. Or did they tell you that a person must be a Nigerian citizen to conduct business and buy property in Lagos? You simply have no point, only to come up with reasons why Nigeria should be holding on to people who want to go their way.

If Yorubas tomorow decide that they want Oduduwa Republic, I would even contribute money to their cause and congratulate them for expressing their right to self determination. I would never tell them to go and lick the a$$ of the Northerners or anybody for that matter in other to get their God given right to freedom. And I can bet you that the Igbo nation will never fight or support any fight to keep Yorubas or any ethnic group in one country with them against their will.

Nigeria remains the illegal creation of the white man, a contraption set up by the British without the consent of the indigenous ethnic groups of the land. Nigeria is 102 year disaster that has never ever worked. It is time to allow the ethnic groups who forced in that colonial creation by the opportunistic British to opt out if they so wish, prefarably, via a referendum.

It beats my mind as an Igbo man that in this day and age, some people will be fighting to be with people who dont want to be with them. It is time to stop the deciet and for us all to go our separate ways. The British experiment called Nigeria does not work

I get all that. but what you Ibos do not understand is that you are not strategic, you do not seem to know how to play politics, it's not about who shouts the loudest, you are not strategic thinkers, you do not show your hand before you play your cards. It seems you are content to make noise and achieve nothing. It seems for it's more about the noise making because you always seem to embark of strategies that are doomed to failure. You embark on strategies that leave you worse off than you were before. I am not faulting your desire for self determination, in the extremely unlikely event that you succeed I say well done and good luck, we the Yoruba nation is viable on our own but I can tell you with 90% certainty that the methods you take to acheive your aims are usually always doomed to failure from the start.

The same mistake you made with Civil war you are making now. Less gra gra and chest beating and more use of the brain, strategic planning and you just might acheive your aims. The North who are the masters in the game of politics dont make noise, Quietly they've check mated you, Politically they made sure they have the population and Militarily they occupy the key positions in the Army. Making Noise upandown doesn't change that. If you really want a Biafra you then have to sit down and think how do we overcome the Northern vote, who do we need to align with instead you are making more enemies upandown. Or you will say we are going to seceed who will support us militarily. You have neither and you are making noise in court room, punching customs officer. How can a neutral align behind such a movement? You see Mandela punching anybody?

When people get too emotional then brain usually goes into hibernation mode.

So my friend I get it but if you think you will achieve Biafra with a bunch of thugs and noise makers you are deceiving yourselves. Nobody is going to take you seriously unless you have respected people fronting IPOB. 150 people died the other day, you see anybody caring? 1,000,000 of your people died for nothing ( I say died for nothing because you came back to Nigeria worse than you were before the war) I am just advising, do not shed more lives of your people unless you have a strategy to win and quite honestly, as a neutral, I can tell you your current strategy is a non starter. The Nigerian life is not a valuale life o, remember 1999, 2500 killed in Odi, you see anybody go to prison?

.
You guys seem to love writting long essays just to make no point. You're problem is that you dont seem to understand that how you do things as a Yoruba man is not how I do things as an Igbo man. Our reasoning is different and that is why Nigeria has never and will never work as a nation. What you think is strategy, I think is nonsense. The truth is that because you Yorubas dont have any sense of self determination, you people have helped to prop the Northerners to a level they would not have attained just so that all of you can continue the fraudulent enterprise called 'one Nigeria'. You expect me as an Igbo man to go and beg Northerners for my freedom? Why? Because Lord Lugard came in 1914 to tell you all that we are Nigerians? How laughable.

The civil war you are talking about, what was Gowon fighting for and what was Ojukwu fighting for? Gowon was fighting for the Northern domination of Nigeria while Ojukwu was fighting to free his people. Ojukwu did what he was supposed to do as an Igbo man and fought for his freedom, Gowon did what he supposed to do as a Northerner and fought for political control of Nigeria, Awolowo did what he supposed to do as a Yoruba man and joined to to help Northern masters dominate Nigeria. We are all different people. The million people that died in the war were people who died fighting for their freedom. You may see it as a waste but as an Igbo man, I see it as the testament of the evil called Nigeria and why my people are better out of it. Anything that can kill a million people is evil. Im proud of Ojukwu for fighting. He may have lost but no shame, the shame is for those who surrendered without a fight. Over 50 million died for the sake of freedom in the second world war.

You are talking about 150 unarmed people murdred in cold blood by your armed forces. You cant even call out your own armed forces forces for committing murder, you are more pinterested in saying that those people died for nothing. You're so called 'one Nigeria' has slaughtered millions of people and you are talking about strategy.

Im an Igbo man, I will never follow you to lick the a$$ of the Northerners. I will never beg anyone for my God given right to freedom.

So you see why Nigeria Nigeria will never work out? We will keep fighting and killing each other until someday, we will all finally agree that Lugard made a mistake in 1914 and we go our different ways. But as long as certain groups decide to hold others against their will, there will never be peace or progress

First of all do not twist what I said, I said Kanu is expendable and I explained that by expendable I mean his freedom is expendable.

You are the one who has been reading too many western books and movies. These things you talk about cannot work in environments like ours. Show me one African country that has succeeded in a people's revolt! Biafra cannot succeed without outside help. Now for a revolution to succeed, you have to have a credible leader....who is that person? I'm sorry nobody takes Kanu seriously outside SE restless youths, he simply hasn't got the stature or pedigree.

I couldn't care less if Biafra comes or goes, I am a Yoruba man, we will survive and prosper with or without and quite frankly we'd be better off on our own so if you succeed in leaving Nigeria it's to my benefit truth be told. I dont want to get too far into a Biafra debate but from an objective unbiased analysis, I can't see how you acheive a Biafra. Forget about the emotions, I'm being technical here. You don't have the firepower, the support amongst your elite and you don't have international support, really it's just noise making.
You Yorubas simply dont understand what this is all about. You guys think this is just about Kanu? This is about self determination. This about people who feel that the British invention called Nigeria has been a disasterous experiment and wish to go and reinvent themselves elsewhere. This is a movement of those who want to be free. I dont care about Kanus credibility, that is not what is important. What is important is the will of the people. So long as the people yearn to be free, they shall one day be free. And if Nigeria decides that it will hold a certain group of people against their will then we should all expect that there will never be any peace or progress.

Theres an Igbo proverb that when an adult takes something from a kid and raises his hands up so that the kid wont reach it, a time will come when his will get tired and he will bring it down. Islamic fundamental onslaught in the North, Niger Delta attacks in the South, Biafran agitation in the East and the general feeling of unhappiness of Nigerians against government incompetence. How long do you think Nigeria can hold out? The question is no longer about if Biafra is achievable but about when Nigeria will implode.

It is quite remarkable what FFK wrote. Not too long ago, this same man disparaged Igbos in his write up's, justified the civil war, blamed Igbos for conducting the first coup, praised Fashola for deporting Igbos from Lagos, claimed Bianca Ojukwu was his ex-girlfriend, accused Ojukwu of trying to steal 'Nigerias Oil' and showed general and unbridled hatred for Igbos, blaiming them for all that went wrong with Nigeria.

Today, the same FFK is married to an Igbo woman who gave him his only son. Today, FFK sees the civil war as genocide, believes in the right to self determination and even questions the so called sanctity of Nigerias unity and visits Nnamdi Kanu in jail, a man he would have undoubtedly called for his execution a few years back.

What made FFK suddenly change and see the light? The cynical side of me would say it was when the APC came at him from all sides that his new found horison suddenly dawned.

All I know that whatever changed FFK had better start changing Nigerian leaders because Nigeria cannot continue like this. Self determination is an inallienable right and we Igbos will always have the right to decide if we are Nigerians or not.
Politics › Re: My Opinions About Nnamdi Kanu by zendy: 9:34am On Dec 16, 2016
illuminated93:
I'm of the opinion that Nnamdi kanu should and would be compared to the likes of fidel castrol,Che Guevera and Nelson mandela. These guys were all freedom fighters and yes Nnamdi kanu is a freedom fighter. Freedom fighting is not an art or a science as a result it has no defined path to a destination. At times it could be peaceful, warlike or a combination of the two. From my analysis, nnamdi's supporters presently are not armed so it can be said that he's on the peaceful path.[

why biafra
Nnamdi thinks that the Nigeria nation is an experiment of the british,he thinks that unlike America,Europe to name a few where a people of common interests and culture exist without being coerced to forcefully exist in a defined geographical space, nigeria is the opposite of that. He believes that before nigeria biafra existed and it's inhabitants lived peacefully. He thinks the british uplifted the Hausa/fulani tribe against the biafrans so as to surpress the creativity of the igbo man,and so he believes biafra must be achived inorder to ensure the development of the igbo race.
Of course Nigeria is a British experiment, a colonial construct. The British have long gone back home and left us to our fate. It is then the right of the indigenous ethnic groups the British brought together to decide if they want to continue with the experiment. The problem starts when one or more groups unilaterally decide that the experiment must continue wether others like it or not.

Are Igbos Serious About Biafra?
It might sound funny, but the average igbo man is not totally serious about the project biafra, even if he says he supports biafra.

How do I know?
Over here in lagos, whenever you ask any igbo man whose business is doing really good whether he will leave for the east if biafra comes. He will simply say well,he can't abandon his business, although he will be a biafran. He goes further to say he can apply for a visa or some documents to stay in lagos. Biafra is being clamoured for by mostly the poor folks.
Self determination is built on democracy. The opinion of one or two Igbos in Lagos or elsewhere pales into insignificance compared to what millions of Igbos living in Igbo land want. What about Igbos in America? What about Igbos in Europe? What about Igbos in Asia? What the vast generality of Igbos worldwide want is far more important than what some well to to do Igbos in Nigeria want.

what it might take to achieve biafra
It might require the blood of a human. Even if I don't know Nnamdi kanu, but from a distance I can tell that the man is ready to lay down his life,he's ready to die for this course. But are his supporters ready,i doubt that. Yes they call him sweet names like Agu,dike..etc. But truth is,when a man comes face to face with death,he might not find even one supporter.
The above statement shows why Nigeria is backward. Why should people be killing each other? Im an Igbo man, I will never kill anybody in other to be with them. But Nigeria will kill me to be with me. Why? Even Britain did not kill the Scots when they agitated for independence, they gave them a referendum. If Nigeria is going to rain down bullets on Igbos because they seek independence then Igbos should not be in Nigeria. When a husband decides to kill his wife because she said she is not happy with the marriage and wants to return home, that is not love, it is subjugation.

Do We We Igbos Need Bifra?

As a matter of fact I will speak for myself as an igbo. I don't think we need biafra. I think we need a Big Nigeria that treats the igbo race with respect and fairness. Nigeria is a big market as a result of its population size. If biafra exists and most igbos migrate to the east, the market potential for an average igbo business person would be cut down because a man that sells to the yorubas, hausas, ijaws, west Africans now sells mostly to only the easterners, his sales outreach is now limited except in special scenarios.
You are thinking small. Selling to Yorubas abd Hausas? What is that all about? Do you know the trade deals an indepedent Igbo nation could sign with America, the EU, Russia, Japan and so on? Igbos should be selling far and wide. Igbo products should be in shops in Germany, China, Hong Kong and so on. Can you imagine what an Igbo ministry of trade could do for us? The possibilities are endless when you manage your self rather than be managed by others. Nigeria has robbed the Igbo man of his sovereignty This situation where almighty Abuja decides who breathes air is very bad for Igbos. To think just about the Nigerian market is to think very small.

My Opinion About Nnamdi Kanu
In truth, I don't really look up to Nnamdi kanu,to put it plainly,i don't support him,not because he's evil or a bad person, but because of the personality cult that has been built around him. I think he's been exalted to the level of an individual whose kind of brilliance has never been seen. I think that is a notion born out of inferiority complex. But is he truly brilliant? Well, time will tell.
Liking Nnamdi Kanu and his methods or even IPOB is not important. The important thing is if one believes in the right of self determination like they do.

I just want to tell Nigerians that anyone who thinks that Gowon fought for Nigerias unity is insane. The unity of Nigeria was already negotiated, signed and sealed in Aburi Ghana. The 4 Regions were ti become the 'confederating Regions' with a weak centre. But this was not acceptable to Gowon and his Northern goons who wanted political and economic domination of Nigeria.

So the war was inevitable. The war was all about Northern domination of Nigeria.

It is Nigeria that causes wars. It is Nigeria that came down ti the East to start fighting in the civil war when they could have followed the part of peace by giving the people a referendum or just leave them alone

Ojukwu is an honourable man who led his people in a battle for liberation and freedom. You thinks it is to answer the slave name the white man imposed on you and claim the country the white man created as your country? Thats the cowards way of life. Go and create you own country, declare your own freedom and answer your own name like Ojukwu did and see if it is easy.

Nigeria is just a scheme to hold people against their will just as Lugard designed it to be and thats why no happiness will ever come out of it.

I absolutely support the message of freedom though it is not his message. He is an opportunist. Unfortunately he has polluted his message with hatred.

Why must a freedom message also be a message of hatred to other groups, a message of death to other groups. A message of violence?

Where was he in the last 5 years of GEJ's government?

If there is a struggle he must get legitimacy. The fact that he shouts loud does not mean he has a mandate. The fact that he is violent does not mean he has a mandate. Did Ojukwu ever win any elections in Igboland

Let those who are elected do the legitimate and democratic thing .Why did Nnamdi Kanu himself not contest elections? He believes in violent and not peaceful change, that's why. So let's go there
You are far away. If there is anybody that is entitled to feel hatred in Nigeria, it is us Igbos. We lost over 3 million souls because of a colonial slogan called 'one Nigeria'. Kanu may preach hate and violence but nobody has suffered death or violence because of Kanu. Contrast that to others who actively killing innocent people such as the Nigerian Army and Police, Boko Haram, cultist and Fulani cattle men. Kanu is entitled to say anything he likes under his right to free speech and he is not saying the things he does because he cares about how Yoruba and Hausas feel. If they dont like it, they should support Kanu and his people to go.

Kanu has been broadcasting since 2009 before GEJ became president, if you never noticed him until now, dont blame anybody

Dont talk about mandate. No mandate made you a Nigerian same as no mandate was given for Lord Lugard to include anyone into his West African pet project called Nigeria.

Because there was no mandate given for the 'forced' inclusion of the ethnic groups into Nigeria, Kanu does not need go into politics to ask for freedom. If Kanu and his people never gave their permission to be included in Nigeria, they have the right not recognise Nigeria as their country. So it becomes a question of enslaving people who were never slaves in the first place.

littlewonders:
Boko boys took 38% of the lives,
Nigeria securities took 23%
Nigeria economy took 20%
Domestic carelessness took the remaining 9%
And yet it is only Kanu who has not killed anyone that is standing trial
