[s]Just because people like Eko-Ile are brain-dead from snorting too much Fashola/Tinubu fecal matter, does not mean that we all are.

In the run-up to the 2011 general elections, Fashola "commissioned" two supposedly completed "waterworks" projects to much fanfare - at Ikorodu in Ikorodu Local Government, and Langbasa in Eti-Osa Local Government. I have visited both severally since then, and while the one at Ikorodu produces some water, it cannot be evacuated from the plant, because the hare-brained "action governor" and his fellow ACN zombies did not think of installing pipelines in Ikorodu metropolis to get the water to the people who need it. So, you have this absurd situation where PRIVATE water tankers are driving in to fill up and SELL the water to the residents of Ikorodu. In Langbasa, THERE IS NOT A DROP OF WATER BEING PRODUCED!!!

This is just another sham project being commissioned by this hammer-headed spineless Tinubu puppet. Mark my words: Within less than a year, there will be no potable water being produced at this giant water filter. These guys are utterly clueless braggarts, full of lies and lots of marketable prose. PDP is the best party ever to rule in Nigeria. Let them shout all they like. Go to Akwa Ibom or Cross River or Rivers, or Imo, or Jigawa, or Kwara states and talk trash about PDP in the market place, see whether you won't be lynched by the ordinary folk on the streets in those states.

Meanwhile, it was in Oyo state that Mrs. Remi Tinubu, Ashafa and Ojudu nearly lost their lives during the "fuel subsidy protest" funded by Bola Tinubu - presumably an ACN state. In Ekiti, it's even worse, and Ogun indigenes are now rueing the day they went mad momentarily and voted another Tinubu puppet into office. Demolitions and attacks on education are now the hallmarks of ACN, the party of illiteracy!![/s]

Even after the war we would have gotten there but other tribes can't just watch that happen. Hence they prosecuted the ibos and the ibos never got the time to continue with such designs.

Ibos are highly blessed with intelligence especially in the world of technology. One day, we will have to opportunity and we will get there.
Statements such as these can be annoying. You know why? Because it is like accusing someone who was merely watching you walk of causing you to trip and fall.

I think people should get beyond blaming others for their misfortunes. We are responsible for most of the things that happen to us. And I am also pointing fingers at myself for that statement.

If my government is not doing its job, I am responsible for making that happen. If we can't reason that way, we will be doomed to be in the shadows, always looking for somebody else to blame when things do not happen for us.

@Topic, I wonder what happened to these technological advancements.

How many of these kinds of threads have existed on Nairaland.

And to the threadstarters, don't you know this never leads anywhere.

The way you hold on to these things that happened in the past is the problem with Nigeria.

And unfortunately, the new generation is walking the same direction that didn't yield anything fruitful many years ago.

I guess humans just never learn.

Enough of threads like these! It is really tiring and disgusting!!!

Abuja - Following the expected loss of AU chairmanship to Boni Yayi of Benin Republic, President Goodluck Ebeble Jonathan’s administration today threatened to breakaway from Africa and form an independent continent of Nigeria.
grin grin
In a terse press release signed by Mr. Reuben Abati, Nigeria stated:

"Since Africa does not consider our President, Dr Goodluck Ebele Jonathan good enough for the Chairmanship of the African Union, then Africa does not deserve our presence on the Continent."

Following the statement, Africa's most populous nation has given the AU an ultimatum of 1 week to regroup and crown GEJ the head of the prestigious union otherwise there shall be consequences.

The press release also advised the advisory body of AU not to bother trying to contact GEJ on the matter as it is non-negotiable. The document pointed out that the Nigerian president is currently too busy negotiating with more important personalities like Boko Haram who the AU should not force him to exile to their countries.

http://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/artikel.php?ID=229187

Meanwhile, Gminers, cabals, and members of parliament are believed to have secretly convened to decide how Nigeria’s breaking away from Africa should be organized to ensure that the Igbos and other Southerners do not use the opportunity to slip away into the Atlantic with their oil and also form their own continent.

Moral of this:
The "common man" is as much a problem to this country as the corrupt politicians. It happens everday we even see it daily but we rather prefer blaming ppl like GEJ for everything.
Fact, the common man is also a problem. But guess what? GEJ is our leader!

And guess what leaders do? They make good rules, set good examples for people to follow.

But when the leaders are not even trying to lead, why should we not put most of the blame most of the time on them?

. . . if Anioma Igbo is closer to Edo than Yoruba is, this would be the primary reason.
You are probably correct. Interesting research article to support this!!!

ABSTRACT This paper is a micro study of the Enuani, a west Niger Igbo subgroup in South Central Nigeria. The study
is based on oral traditions collected and documented from the area over time, supplemented with archival sources and
local histories written by the people of the area. It identifies the people and area in question and examines the genesis
and dynamics of conflicting claims about their origins as well as the forces that sustain them. In doing this, it hopes
to shed more light on the vexed issue of Enuani ethno-cultural identity and to contribute to a deeper understanding of
the state formation process in pre-colonial Nigeria. The paper concludes that given the various strands of primary,
secondary and tertiary movements, which settled the Enuani area, wholesale attribution of their origin to one source
or area is at variance with the reality on ground and with the evidence. The evidence and reality on ground point to
mixed origins from Igboland east of the Niger, from already established settlements within or neighbouring Enuani
area, from Benin, Igala and Yorubaland. There is also evidence of population movements from the area to people
other areas, including Benin and Igboland east of the Niger

Is fashola going to pay some form of compensation because you cannot just stop the livelihood of people without an alternative.
Alhaji. Why should the Governor pay compensationhuh

The market is a public space where private organizations conduct business. If it becomes dirty and unkempt, it becomes a public health hazard for the state.

In order to prevent unnecessary spread of diseases as a result of the poor sanitary habits of the occupants, it should be shut down.

And the offenders should be made to pay fines for endangering the lives of other Nigerians!!!

And not the other way around. Nigerians need to learn their own responsibilities to the environment. Haba!!!

One thing that i have seen about our Youruba people is that they will never support something if it is wrong regardless of if the crime was committed by their son.

If that makes them traitors/judases, then, i guess that is a good way to be. Integrity can not be bought in the market.

We can't say the same of some of our other brothers.
