Good development from FG |
I have always believed that, most bank robberies are not short of insider signature. All these rogue bankers have their hands in these operations. |
Why are some people highlighting his HIV status? This is too childish for my liking. Say no to stigmatization. By the way, kudos to the senator for doing good. That food means a lot to the beneficiaries. |
IgboSomalia:I wonder why people are commenting as if he was meant to spend months in police custody. He did not commit murder or treason, and the normal thing is for him to be bailed or charge to court within the stipulated time. |
Luciferlove:Sure, Mohammed Adoke is deeper life member, while Dasuki is a redeemer. |
A heartbroken soldier burst into tears as he prepared to say his final goodbye to his terminally ill military working dog . In the clip Huaibin begs medics to let him stay beside the dog during the operation, but is removed by a couple of fellow servicemen. The touching moment was shown on state broadcaster CCTV on Saturday, which shared the sad tale behind their relationship. Huaibin said he first realised something was wrong with his beloved military dog during a training session, after he bit on a ball and then threw up. Concerned about him being sick, Huaibin looked inside the dog's mouth and spotted a large lump- so he sought advice from a vet and was given the sad news that it was a cancerous tumour. Over the next eight months, Huaibin travelled to a number of different veterinary clinics to try and boost the pooch's chance of survival, explaining: "I wanted to try and save him no matter what." He went on to say that as 'long as there was a glimmer of hope' he would continue to seek treatment for the dog. Credit: CCTV/Weibo And Huaibin was hopeful, saying Wu Yi was a fighter and wanted to live. He added: "The way it looked at me - it might be hard for you to understand - was a way for us to communicate. It was saying it also wanted to keep on living." However, even after four operations the dog's health continued to worsen as the cancer spread. Vets then told Huaibin that the dog couldn't be saved and that the kindest thing to do would be to put him to sleep. Huaibin added: "I didn't wish him to suffer anymore. I cannot bear it." The devastated solider was able to spend a last few moments with the dog, before he was put to sleep. The dog was given a funeral, attended by several soldiers, including Huaibin, who all saluted the dog's tomb when the ceremony ended. Featured Image Credit: CCTV/Weibo

SaintHilary:Why don't you say European champions league is overrated, since Liverpool is European champions? Or do you think they don't play football in other continents? You people like talking nonsense shall. |
helinues:I don't think the case is closed as in the context you are thinking. This close here means the final argument/submission of the respondent. The prosecution will also close their case and then, the judge will deliver his or her judgement. |
imiski:In as much as this is your opinion, I cannot agree to this submission. What impact did they have on the masses? what exactly did we gain as result of their squabbles and fights for personal egos and interests? As far as I know, that senate was full of noise makers and comedians led by the exotic cars senator Dino with no positive impact on Nigerians and our democracy. |
gurunlocker:Politicians a very callous, never willing to accept defeat and can go to any length, even inventing fake server results. Nigerian politicians are worse. |
The Senate will not waste time in exonerating him. These democrats self are behaving like PDP. Bitter politics everywhere. |
Not good to me |
85% possession and no shot for 20 minutes |
arsenal win or draw |
Unfortunate loss. God, console the family. |
adenigga:Well, I don't know about that. I was only clearing what the actual sentence is and what he is to spend in prison as well as why. |
This trial is even older than IPOB. if our justice system was to be swift, it should have been concluded since. KANU should swerve |
MelesZenawi:The prison term is actually a combined 133yrs on the different counts with the highest being 12yrs. He will stay in prison for only 12yrs because the sentences will run concurrently or whatever. |
Freedom at last. |
Racoon:Some times we tend to forget that an accuse is presumed innocent till proven guilty. |
gaetano:Like Nyame and Dariye who are already in prison ?. Oh sorry I forgot, you have an excuse already, they are Christians. Ethnicity and religion in Nigeria hmmm. |
serikigoro:I said this in a previous thread. As a non Yoruba or Igbo, I have seem Igbos on nairaland defend any crime their kinsmen commit. Not the same with other tribes, in fact they tend to dissociate with the person. There are two ex governors in jail now due to corruption, card carrying APC members, and one never hears from their people about witch hunting. Just imagine if they were from south east |
stankezzy:Does it mean you people don't actually read articles or read but fail to comprehend or are deliberately displaying bigotry? For your benefit of doubt the article says Andy took loans of up to 135b, refused to pay amcon took on him to recover the debt through properties Andy owned(mind you the confiscation of these properties took place in 2013, reminds me who was president then). Now for amcon to sell these properties Andy is playing underhand tactics, some properties inflated in value by him etc. That is why they file criminal charges against him. By the way, has efcc arrested Onyeama? the people that indicted him are Igbo friends, the US and not Nigeria. |
adenigga:oh, I was even thinking the takeoff will be from yaba. I wonder where they pass to Iju, that is if we are talking of Iju-Ishaga. From mushin -oshodi-ikeja-agege is still under serious construction. In fact in Agege, there is no rail line as the one that was installed was removed again for construction work on the station. No train is passing this axis anymore for the past three or four months |
One fat lie in your write up is that, Atiku was outrightly rigged out.. No oga, Atiku can never win Buhari in an election as long as the bulk votes are from the north. Atiku lost the election, very simple. |
faceofmalawi.com A Pakistani judge has sentenced a man to be executed after he was expelled 17 times from 6 different mosques for excessive farting during the period of the Ramadan reports the Islamabad Herald this week. The Ramadan is the most important religious festival for Muslims and the judge declared that he had indisposed people of the faith and even caused 53 people at one time to leave the mosque during a prayer, a “blasphemous act” which should be punished “according to Allah’s will.” The judge was lenient, have admitted many experts in the region, as he gave the convicted man the choice of being beheaded or stoned to death. “The law is clear,he should be stoned to death, beheading is a very light sentence and saves him from any suffering,” protested the government prosecutor. Deputy District Public Prosecutor (DDPP) Syed Anees Shah told reporters the accused got a “very light sentence” for the crime of blasphemy. Muhammad Al-Wahabi, 33, suffers from chronic flatulence, “a rare medical condition” he argued in his self-defense, as no lawyer would take his case. “No lawyer is crazy enough to bet his career on this issue. If his client his condemned, as in this case, the lawyer would face prosecution and possibly the same faith as his client” admits legal expert Andrew Jones, a Middle Eastern law expert. Al-Wahabi did not contest the judgment and even said the judgment was fair and that he hoped Allah would be gracious enough to pardon his blasphemous actions. Al-Wahabi also admitted that he put a tampon in his rectum several times in a desperate attempt to mask the noise and odor. “A disgraceful and insidious act” the judge declared, visibly disgusted. “Muslims are not allowed to insert any objects inside their anus, not even a finger, it is forbidden by the Koran,” said the judge. “As a judge, I must set an example for other Muslims. This is clearly unacceptable under Shariah law,” he concluded. Al-Wahabi admitted to the judge he had failed his God, his religion, and his people and was terribly sorry for what he had done, and asked for his two wives and seven children’s mercy in court and thanked the judge for his verdict. |
My experience: I did not attend any driving school, I learnt everything online from signage to watching YouTube. Of course I drive only automatic gear cars, I don't know how to drive manual. So I bought my car, kept it for one month to finish registrations. After that I put what I learnt in to practicals with no tutor beside me. Just me in the car. I will drive in the compound practicing reverse and drive. One early saturday morning with less traffic, I drove straight on express from Oshodi to Iyana Ipaja. From there, I will practice around 5am when traffic is less. Now I can drive to anywhere. I drove for about 800km in a straight 14hrs drive with less than one year experience. it was fun anyway. @op is good you have a tutor, driving need you to be very bold and calm at the same time, be alert to your environment also and assume you are the only sane person on the road. All the best to your lessons as you try to be a good driver. |
phoenix90:No you are totally wrong. Sen. Buruji extradition was challenged in court and he won the case. If Allen is to be extradited he will also be free to challenge it up to supreme court. By the way someone up there mentioned some people extradited and jailed in US, they are all southwest names. |
wink2015:I think you are missing a lot of things. My thinking is Allen's case is a bit different from other business men, because he is already indicted by the US. If for instance Adenuga got this kind of indictment, the steps taken in Allen's case will be taken as well for him. Yes the US can cough and we will catch cold because we are a developing nation that depends on them in so many ways, therefore the FG will be very stupid to do anything that can jeopardize the relationship. The consequences will be far harsher than say, an air peace folding. The last time I check, US has tried more "nonsense" to the countries you mentioned, trade war with China, Iran practically locked down with sanctions on country, individuals and businesses. For me EFCC has not done any wrong here. The right thing is for them to investigate the citizen indicted on massive money laundering. This will diplomatically place them on high moral ground for dealings with a "benefactor nation". |
chriskosherbal:From what I understand up there, the US cannot finish what they started without EFCC's involvement most likely. Extradition may be needed if he is to stand trial in US, as he may not voluntarily go there to face charges. That can be achieved only through EFCC. Apart from that, it is also compelling for EFCC to initiate their investigations too, more so that the money involved took flight from Nigeria. It is only when they investigate and press charges as applicable that the US may be able to initiate any extradition process. In any case, the man has a huge problem on his hands. |
