I am constructing a road that is solely for the benefit of your fuckin-g village. I am not building a hotel or petrol station or shopping mall I will make money from. It is a structure purely for your own benefit. Your villagers should be rolling out the red carpet for my guys by day and the mgbekes by night

Instead you are coming to demand that we basically bribe you to execute a project that is solely for the benefit of your village. Entitled jokers.
That is what I am trying to point out. A MOU can exist between the contractor and host communities, its intended for good working relationship. However, because of the so many wrongs in our values, the communities in most cases imbibe a false sense of entitlement, become lazy and complacent on the roles offered to them as well as arm twist contractors. If you ask me, I will rather say there is no need for this drama and even a MOU on the stated grievances. Of course if one considers the huge long term benefits of this project, then all hands should have been on deck to ensure its completion. Too much politics has already been played on this project and with resumption of work now, all should only ensure completion.

If you have worked with white people, you will know what am saying. They don't value and we also should learn not to value them. They look at us like we are animals. I stand by the truth, they signed MOU with those parties, if they can't obey them simple, let them stop them the work. They can't continue looking down on us everytime because we are blacks
Calm down and let us also hear from them. A MOU surely has terms and conditions. If such are violated, then it becomes invalid. E.g you are constructing a road in my village and we have a MOU stating that you will employ 50% of the locals to work. If these people have intolerable disciplinary issues and I sack them, you can't hold on the MOU. bottom line is that don't swallow whole what these people are saying. It could well be because of their selfish interests especially considering how corrupt we are in this Country.

Did you hear from the host community? What's their position? Just to be supplying stones, sands and others yet the white men are bringing partiality into it. It's unfair bro, we should learn to also raise ourselves above this people, they only have white skin doesn't mean blacks are useless. I hate them with passion because of their pride
Is also good to hear from the company before judging. You may be surprised if they state their position.

sighs, sensible comment at last. Some people don't know a jack about what is called investigation. To read a simple piece and comprehend is another difficult task. Even when it was stated that, based on the interview of the witnesses, the house and office were searched some people are still bashing the police. Definitely the police were looking for evidences, based on witnesses testimonies.

Suppose you read me dispassionately, you would have gotten my drift. Talking about the people I have in the army was just to let you know I'm very close to the war than you may think. The deserter is my family member. The slain is my family member. The one in is my family member but not at the war front. The.casualty on the Nigeria army side is grossly under-reported.

I expected the army to challenge the wsj to tell them where the unmarked grave was. In fact, the army should have challenged anybody with info about the secret place to come forth but they didn't because a location was already named.

You are the only one who seems not to understand how stretched the army is now in manpower and logistics due to the war. The secret burial is something the current political army would do to cover up its weaknesses just to appear strong, after all they kept saying BH has been defeated.

Go into all the barracks in the south and you will find many many who have not seen nor heard from their loved one and the army could not say why. Dem plenty.

Offsides:: stop lumping your writtings as if you are kneading dough so that your readers can read you easily.
Thanks, but you have not proven the secret burial of 1000 soldiers in your long write up. The army is stretched? yes, does it mean secret burial? no. The onus is on the accuser to prove their allegations and not the accused. The army agreed that they have a cemetery in the location and is well labelled. And you are not the only one to have relations in the army. As long as you don't have a proven statistics of the 1000 secret burial, rather depend on hear say of your white master, then you have said nothing.

Families of soldiers who have not seen nor heard from their brother or husband or sisters abound. They have been crying on social media for long. I have people in the army. Some have fallen to BH, some have deserted and others are still in. The foreign media never said they were all buried in one day. Try and read the original story.
Perhaps only if you read what you quoted. Where did I say the casualties were buried in a day? I asked for what period. You yourself said some have fallen to BH, some have deserted, some are still in. How does your statement translate to burial of 1000 soldiers secretary? Look the army may have lost more 1000 personnel in the war over a time. What I question seriously is the insinuation of secret burial. what do they mean by secret burial? Is it that the families of the 1000 were not informed? Where are the 1000 families? Even in the press release, the army mentioned about a burial of soldiers in the barracks. You talk about social media missing of personnel, yet you still said some deserted the army, now tell me, if the family of the deserter initially told you on social media that their son is missing, do you think they will come and tell you he is finally found and deserted? No, it will just go quiet because of the implication. We don't have to just believe everything this people say, we should subject it to critical thinking. We are not yet there but swallowing their negativity whole will do us no good either.

Like I said, ask around. Plus over the last few years there have been times when the army lost around 100 men in a week or two. From that any reasonable person can guess it has lost a few thousand men to the fight.
Many families have not been able to contact their soldier sons for years. There can only be one explanation for that.
More, if the report is wrong, all the army has to do is sue the Wall Street Journal and get millions of dollars in compensation. Will the army do that? I'm willing to bet my life they will not, mainly cos they are allergic to the truth.
I told you that some of us too are not ignorant to what is happening in the war, the presentation of the report is fishy. Yes, the army or government may not necessarily sue them because of their higher stand on the diplomatic platform. By and large, we depend on them on a number of issues and naturally you wouldn't want to "overreact" with your benefactor. So it is a bit more complicated than it looks.

For me I speak as a Nigerian, I don't have another Country to call my own, and I applaud the brave military personnel sacrificing daily. Our military top brass and politicians are not holy, but again most Nigerians are not themselves. The west has caused enough troubles in Africa especially and is high time we learnt to be suspicious of them. Their undue interference in peaceful Libya is part of the heavy price we are paying today, as weapons so dangerous flow freely from there.

Ask around please. There are plenty of reports of soldiers who went to the war front and never came back. Where are they? Did they fly to the moon? Years later all enquires to the Nigerian Army is met with silence.
Like I said, ask around. A few of these missing soldiers are even featured on some Nairaland pages.
This is where the issue is, no data to back anything up, just conjectures. Who collated the statistics of even up to 100 disappeared soldiers? certainly you cannot find any of such on internet, or do well to share if you have any please. If a few in your words are missing, then how does it translate to secret burial? Of course in a war of this nature some casualties may never be found, their corpses may never have been recovered. Let us ask some critical questions of some of these reports, they are not in our best interest mostly

I would strictly caution you not be rude a d put your point after reading and comprehending

If you read the article you would see that this secret burial routine began over a year ago

Secondly I handle contracts in the north east and was in maiduguri and spent nights with military personnel whom all made subtle.remarks and intending desertion and when I Inquired why they all made a comment stating that if you are sent to the fap (front assualt point ) you just might never return.. I asked repeatedly why they all nervously refused to give a direct answer , I heard rumors of trucks moving at night but paid no attention to it .

You are too young and uninformed to speak without proper information. I suggest you learn to speak to elders and focus on your studies

Mind your language here or your account will be banned for breaking rule 2

Disregard this at your convenience

Cheers
But this your effort to prove the report is still very weak and substantiate nothing. How does soldiers unwilling to go to front war or truck movements in the night translate to secret burial of 1000 people without up to 50 uproar from their relations in the local media? More so considering this era of social media. I still doubt this report the way it is presented. If such occurred, the families were likely informed before burial, otherwise discordant tones would have arisen. In case if the families were informed, then, it means the burial was not secret. The army could have buried 1000 soldiers over time but the "secret" in the report is highly suspicious. And remember some of us here have relations in the war front as well. Trust the western media at your peril.
