Today, they will take her to be an enemy and a mad woman, but recall, just yesterday, they said once she says such a thing about you, know that it is your ghost that's been walking. They were so jubilant about he comments regarding Kyari. Now the tables have turned and they've gone bananas.
Dear brothers from the East, stop letting the likes of Reno, Femi, Kemi, take you for a ride. You are better (at least we would like to believe so) than this. I have never seen anyone as confused as these people. The same way Wike too is playing them. Today they queue behind him, tomorrow they receive insults and start wailing. Kemi should prepare, they are coming for him |

Kaycee54321: You're making my point for me. They come back to manage business and occupy strategic positions and not to settle down here. Even the President rules Nigeria mostly from the abroad.Minus business and occupation of strategic positions, they rarely settle here. Even the ones wey dey occupy the kain positions,no dey gree dey Naija for long. Always moving from Naija to the abroad to go and visit their families.
Again, the President comes to mind. Don't take my word for it though, we can agree to disagree. I respect your opinion. However there is exaggeration in it mostly. Eg the president, you can check very well and see that he doesn't rule the country from abroad. Aside his medical leave which can run to maybe two weeks or a month the other official engagements are less than a week and not every month. I think from Obj to Jonathan to Buhari, we tend to over exaggerate presidential official engagements. Most people forget that, Africa generally is a developing continent and mostly the presence of their presidents in most engagements abroad is vital for the countries to be taken seriously. And believe me, these elites, their children are mostly based in Nigeria here and only go abroad for vacation or leisure. To say they are working there and based there, I am not sure. |

Kaycee54321: It's not about money. There's a reason the elite have their families study and settle abroad while visiting Nigeria the way you travel to the village for festivities. When you're sick, you won't eat Naira notes, na better health care you go find, etc. The elite family study abroad but Majority don't settle there. Check the families of elite politicians, business men, top civil servants and corporate private workers, etc. All their families come back here after studies and either manage businesses of their parents, occupy strategic positions in both private and govt establishments. The life they live here is better than what they might have lived abroad. If you talk of the average Nigerian dreaming or scrambling to live abroad, I will agree with you, but not those elites |

My brother, don't sleep on a bicycle. No place is paradise but I assure you that if you make the mistake of coming back to settle here, you'd regret it. Some general deserve to be stoned to death. Some time this thing is not as easy as it seems. BH is an international sponsored organization. If our army is serious, they can deal them a huge blow now. I seriously believe countries like chad, Niger and infact all of our neighbors were not serious until now. Chad in particular was serving as a big hideout to them until they killed 96 of their soldiers. Let us see how it goes as all of them seem to be serious now |

While this picture of 3 dead Boko is commendable and we appreciate their efforts, we also should not deceive ourselves. There has to be an offensive, how come a whole national army is always on the defensive against Boko haram? Isn't that strange to you? We ought to be the one chasing, bombing them, placing them on the run instead of vice versa. the way Chad showed you the 1000 corpses before you believed them. I agree with you |

What else do you think he was fighting for?
Ignoramus everywhere... so all his tantrums was for NCDC to visit the state. This is great. For your information, NCDC has been visiting states and will visit almost every state in Nigeria with the rate of spread. You are the ignoramus here. all we need is for the elites to unite the people under one umbrella.
FG have the option of going after the region in 2016 but decided to negotiate so your state can be able to pay salary.
the Southsouth is an important region in Nigeria. that is why FG is always negotiating for peace, avoiding anything that will unite the region.
you will be fighting Boko boys in the North and militants in the South. no country will survive it you said a break away is easy but the same reasons you gave are the very reason a break away is not easy. So you have finally arrived where I was. |

there won't be a fight. River State will just manage their resources. or you think Rivers State will fight alone?
Wike did not just backtrack. there were negotiations behind the scenes. well, I am still surprised you think Wike can just stand up and control the resources or fight the FG. Somebody that doesn't control even police, let alone military. Is it the militants you will use to wage a war against a country? Again, the country has seem a civil war before if you forget. Wike himself knows when to call it off and his limits. And no, he cannot come and say he is sponsoring it, but there is intelligence everywhere, isn't it? |

Hyperchi: Why didn't obasanjo rendered tunubu useless when he withdrew fund. Oga what will be the reason for state of emergency. If it happens u and i including the fed will feel the hit. Dis is not military time. Eye don open, he will bring the govt to negotiating table. When oil pipeline start burning oil company start running from Nigeria coz of the crisis. First, Lagos is not Rivers. Compare their GDP and take it from there. Secondly, if you follow the discussion, someone suggested that Wike will sponsor militants against the nation, hence the angle of state of emergency which is constitutional when security issues in a state is uncontrollable. And I think non of us know more than wike, who retraced his steps after swearing on national TV. So let us not argue here |
Politics › Re: Rivers Releases 22 Exxonmobil Staff Arrested For Violating Lockdown Order by zikter(m): 5:38pm On Apr 19, 2020 |
Lostz: the argument started from a president withholding the allocation of a state....... there is also no legal backing for that.
even the president power is limited.... especially in a fragile country like Nigeria
the people will not starve while they feed the country Let us assume the argument started with allocation withholding, into a governor sponsoring criminals against state, do you really believe a state government can fight the central government and win? Fragile as you think the country is according to your assertion, the FG has too much power for a state to challenge it to a fight. There is a reason why Wike backtracked |
Politics › Re: Rivers Releases 22 Exxonmobil Staff Arrested For Violating Lockdown Order by zikter(m): 5:15pm On Apr 19, 2020 |
Lostz: you can just wake up and declare a state of emergency?
why did he not do that when militants almost shutdown the economy in 2016? No, you cannot just stand up and do it. He didn't declare it because by all reasonable standard, there were better alternative and the situation was not uncontrollable. But let me ask you, if you are a president and a state governor declare war on your nation through sponsoring criminals to attack key personnel and national assets, what will you do? Remember, the argument was hinged on Wike sponsoring militants and creating a security situation for the government. |

Dr Akinwumi Adesina is a proven administrator. He would do better than all those people listed up there
Since we are listing profiles here, let me drop the profile of Akinwumi Adesina for those who do not know
* Akinwumi Adesina is the President of the African Development Bank
* He was Vice President of Policy and Partnerships for the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA)
* He attended a village school in Oyo and went ahead to graduate with a Bachelors in Agricultural Economics with First Class Honors from the University of Ife, Nigeria (1981) (Note: A first class from OAU is no joke)
* He was the first student to be awarded this first class in that department in OAU
* He has his masters from Purdue University in Indiana
* He has a PhD (Agricultural Economics) in 1988 from Purdue where he won the Outstanding PhD Thesis for his research work.
* He worked at the Rockefeller Foundation since winning a fellowship from the Foundation as a senior scientist
* His short time as Minister of Agriculture in Nigeria created the agricultural revolution we are enjoying today.
* He is the current President of the African Development Bank
I am tired of typing. unfortunately, in the polity arena, such positions are not just given to anybody, irrespective of their qualifications. They only go to the most trusted allies of the head |

You cant be in Abuja giving orders while Rivers people suffer. After Lagos and Abj, Rivers is the next busiest and most important state in the country, what has FG done to make sure that the lives of Rivers people are safe?
Rather they can fly foreigners to rigs from Rivers anyhow. Well, he may still not get what he wants by using arm twisting tactics. And considering the nature of our federalism, it is going to be quite difficult to get what you want by arm twisting the center |

I will defend a corrupt Igbo in Nigeria. I will fight against a corrupt Igbo in Igbo Biafra. you are only one out of million people in such a setting. I am not against or for the breaking down of the nation. My stand is, if there is no general change in the attitude of an average Nigerian, then neither Nigeria or the dismembered entity will work.
