Ofodirinwa aka Ikengawo, what is your take on this from your gov even when he has failed Imo state in all indices of development? Is there any single functional healthcare in Imo state? What about the economy? What about job creation? What about infrastructure? etc. On what moral ground does he tax already poor Imolites extra tax? https://www.nairaland.com/4462060/okorocha-imposes-n3000-development-levy/1 |

Now the chief propagandist has come, now he has manufactured pictures from the sky. Another fake pictures spotted. I thought the building is for the staff, why is it now an open hall, looking like hospital? Look at the windows of the 2 buildings. It does not even match in any way. Propaganda will not kill my state. 1 Like |

MXrap: the proposal is crude, baseless and comical. Okorocha isn't someone to take seriously. Yes there is functional healthcare throughout the state though. The economy is decent but should be diversified, job creation isn't the government's job, and infrastructure needs work. 1 Like |

MXrap: lol whatever. Imo state has great health facilities in comparison to the rest of the country. If it ends at IMSUTH for you that's fine. Also, I'm Chino. |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by MXrap: 4:44pm On Apr 20, 2018 |
Ikengawo, leave matter for matthias. IMSUTH is the most important and highest State medical institution in Imo State. Is there any other State healthcare facility greater than it? Ofodirinwa: |

Ofodirinwa:All those states have a bit of everything. They can't crash just like that. The fact that Owerri is a tourist/entetainment city does not mean it won't have other industries. 1 Like |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Abagworo(m): 6:23pm On Apr 20, 2018 |
Afam4eva: Owerri has other things and Imo has other things but the area it leads is in hospitality and tourism. Same way other Southeast States have breweries and bottling companies, so does Imo but no big market until now that Okorocha has arranged 2 mighty markets that are some of the best in Southeast and entire East of today. They are gradually taking off and when fully functional will create new commercial cities at Naze/Nekede and Ubomiri/Nwaorieubi which are just few miles away from Owerri. Politicians are trying so hard to resist Okorocha's strategy to move commerce from old Owerri to those satelite towns but he is unrelenting and will succeed. 1 Like |

MXrap: IMSUTH is now functioning well, as doctors have decided to outlast Rochas Okorocha and his self-serving plans that stalled development of IMSUTH. Okorocha still refuses to asphalt the 1.5km main road leading to IMSUTH, but patients, doctors and hospital workers who now understand the reasons for Okorocha's hostility to IMSUTH now throng the hospital. |

Imonewsblog IMOMODERNMARKET:OKOROCHA DONATES N50 MILLION NAIRA, ALLOCATES FREE SHOPS FOR THE RELOCATED EKEUKWU TRADERS His Excellency Rochas Okorocha has gone a step further to offer permanent relief and succor to another batch of traders who were hesitant at observing the ongoing Urban Renewal Program in the state by donating the sum of Fifty Million Naira to the traders through their respective market unions and leaders to enable the completion of some sections of the market while allocating free shop space for those affected by the recent demolition trend. They are to occupy their new shops without payments for at least, three months period. Owelle, who personally conducted the allottees round the newly constructed Imo Modern International Market,Egbeada/Ohi also perked the monthly shop rent at N5000 only but warned that, shop owners who charge more than the stipulated amount, will have their shops forfeited. The over excited traders were seen jubilating and celebrating the Governor's magnanimity, chanting songs of praise and gratitude. They have come to accept in clear terms, his good intentions and would run with it. Recall,August 26,2017,Governor Rochas Okorocha had ordered the demolition of Ekekwu and later, New Market,AmaHausa & Relief Markets as part of his Urban Renewal Program at the expiration of a two years notice to the traders. While some of the traders willingly moved into the newly built Alagba Market along Owerri-PortHacourt road, Industrial Cluster situated at Poly Nekede road others refused to comply leading to the recent enforcement and demolition of shanties around Rotobi streets and Amahausa. Those affected by the recent exercise are the major beneficiaries of the Governor's largesse which has attracted encomiums from within and in the diaspora.

Serious work ongoing at Douglas road. It seems the end of recycled dirty politics of Douglas is at hand and once again Okorocha did it despite the attempts by opposition to make it unachievable.

Abagworo: Build new estates and layouts to expand or beautify a town, no sane leader destroys old town centre to expand road or beautify a town. The huge amount of money spent on destruction of Douglas and Ekeonunwa market, and rebuilding them, could build scores of urban and rural roads in New Owerri, Orlu and Okigwe areas. Abagworo: How come u always post ongoing projects? You hardly post recently completed projects This is the twilight of his administration and he's still awarding new projects instead of completing ongoing ones That man is clueless when it comes to administration I watched Rochas last week, saying that Imo State government would build a school for the blind Rochas wants to make Imo State a dump site 3 Likes |

Abagworo: I am very objective in my analysis of governance Make no mistakes, Okorocha is notorious for starting and abandoning projects halfway That's why these Orlu guys are always disturbing us on this thread. Yes, they have a point even though they sound parochial. Compare completed and ongoing/abandoned projects in Imo and see the result yourself That's why each time I ask you about the centenary towers, you dodge the question. Yes, I know he must have abandoned the project I don't need a soothsayer to be told that Rochas is bereft of administrative and organizational skills. 4 Likes |

Ofodirinwa: My point was that every state in the United States contributes to the overall economy of the country. It’s impossible for every state to have it all, it’s just not realistic. I doubt there is any county in the world like this. So what’s with the useless comparisons here? As long as it’s the east and people are moving about within the region, i don’t see the big deal. 2 Likes |
Re: Few Pics From Imo State by Ofodirinwa: 11:48pm On Apr 24, 2018 |
THEAMAKA: Unless there's a geographical restriction, nobody should deliberately create a 1 industry state. Some sectors will be stronger based on the state, but the difference between our states are negligable and what one has another can have. The problem with moving around in the region is the problem with Nigeria. I'm in the US. If i want to be i marketing, I can live in Texas. If i want to be in medicine, i can be in texas. If i want a factory job i can be in texas. In Nigeria, if you want to be in Marketing, you have to move to Lagos. If you want to be in anything outside of factory work, farming and petty trading you have to go to Lagos. If you want a simple government document printed you have to go to Abuja, rent a hotel, and go back the next day. All of these things makes life unbalanced and miserable. If Nigeria is what you know than this reality is acceptable, but once you experience something else, you'll know that it's a dangerous economic concept. Also, if Imo is a hospitality state, and kidnapping starts up or a high profile kidnapping hits the news, suddenly 70-90% of the economic is shut down because people will stop visiting. Cross Rivers tried to be a hosptality state. The federal government neglected one road and suddenly employment and cross rivers are two different things. Every state needs 10% of it's economy to be 1 sector, the next 10% another. So that if the industry slows down by 50% only 5% of the jobs in the state will be lost. 3 Likes |
