i ve ben followin this trend but 2day is my 1st tym of contributing.i cam across it afta my interview and it has been very helpfulful.i was refused in july and i had to defer.i want to go 4 interview in oct against spring session but i dnt want to use my sponsor again.is it possible to change sponsor or does it raise a red flag?pls i need some help here. |

I did everything myself including d gt bank payment. I filled everything online but at the point Ơƒ submitting, i realised there was no means Ơƒ attaching my passport. Its true ♍ people perish not knowing the truth but at least A̶̲̥̅♏ glad i found this thread. |

@chiomaodo if i may ask, why do u want to change ur sponsor? If ur reason is strong enough i don't think dat would cause any harm. But first let d house know why u want to change so dat we know what to tel u. |

Hi house. I actually joined nairaland so i can post on this thread. Am sixteen and a half years old (am going to be seventeen in december) and i am preparing to go to school in d us . My problem is that my parents made a mistake in my passport when i was younger,they put the wrong date of birth and that reduces my real age by 2years.iam about to change it but my us tourist visa from before has the wrong date. I need advice if i should go ahead with correcting the passport,will that be a problem at d embassy. |

@chiomaodo. It's ˚☺k° to switch sponsorship if only Ʊ can clearly give Чuя reasons for not being sponsored by the previous person. I think Ʊ also need to defend the mode Ơƒ relationship bw Чuя new sponsor and Ʊ and a letter from him confirming it! Note its better if Ʊ are presenting Чuя sponsor as Чuя uncle or aunt instead Ơƒ just some family friend or something! |

@van, hmm!if Ʊ happen 2b 16 now and Ʊ intend going for an interview for an undergraduate program with a passport telling Ʊ are 14, its more than a red flag man! I think Ʊ need a certificate for the declaration Ơƒ birth, Ʊ can get it from a lawyer if Ʊ can't find the one given at Чuя birth and also I think Ʊ need to go to the police station requiring a certificate confirming Чuя the supposed age on Чuя tourist visa was an error. Or house do Ʊ guys know anything else? |

@yungnick thx for d reply,i still have my original birth-certificate. My dad has contacted immigration and they have agreed to correct the D.O.B. Should i take my birth-certificate to the embassy to proove its my real age. |

hello house am back on the trend after so many months now, kip intouch with me for more advise on conquerin US F1 visa, in 9iger , Finally in the US, @chiomaodo u don't have to rush F1 visa, cuz if u do, it will rush u too, now stay back till next yr, reason July to octo, is not up to six months, then apply again with thesame sponsor next yr, cuz u sevis fee is one yr validity, and try to correct why u wre been rejected the visa, thanks. jamin. |

Van snickers: If they correct it on a new passport the Embassy requires you to come with all previous passports you have been issued. What makes it worse is they will know if you go with a fresh passport because they issued you a visa before. My advice, go with your birth cert and a notarized declaration of age and if they ask you, clearly show them all documents that shows your real age and explain to them that it was a mistake from Naija immigration and they promised to correct the mistake. You may be lucky and they wont ask about it, and from experience, I think the younger you are the better your chances of F1, So get every doc and pray to God. No big deal since you get yankee visa before things should be a lil easier for you |

benjamin18: ^^^ Haba! Is this an advice or just a joke? You don't mean asking her to wait till another year. What about the spring (Jan/Feb) class or summer(Apr/May)? So she should wait till fall(Aug/Sept) again. You dey try ooo. @chioma, Get your sponsor tune up by adding a second sponsor and make sure the total fund both provided is enough for you for a year. Then go with the statements from the two sponsors. Don't change your ds160 sa. |
