Hmmn its better to forget doing any PT job then. Msc Fin. Mgt.

Not really, you may not just be able to "complete" the 20 hours PW on your visa when school is in session. It depends on the individual involved anyway...

Ah, ABS.

Best wishes sir.

You can work weekends if courseworks don't swallow you up. Nope, RSE.

Give your Msc all the time and work after your final project, you will have about 5-6 months to work.

NO LEGITIMATE UK SCHOOL USES THIEF AGENT!
Use Google to find the admissions office of your school.
If they still say THIEFAgent then find another school because you are being scammed!

@Mr Justwise/spikeC----This is my first time here and this thread seems helpful.I have a few questions.I would like to UK for MSC in IT. and would be staying with my mum whose is also my sponsor.I will be staying with her since my 2 options are either in northampton or coventry since she owns a 3bdrm in northampton and she stays alone.........

so do i need to show maintenance allowance in my account
i know you are against working for more than 20hrs a week but is there a way to work for more than 20hrs since mum will only pay 6500+expenses out of the 12000+.....
so i need to earn a little to save for remaining fees and also something home for my wife and daughter that im leaving behind in naija...

So please advice

Errrm...almost all UK schools has one or multiple agents in different countries. And yes, they call them agents.

Nevertheless, the OP needs to be careful and always pay directly to the school

Before i officially unfollow this thread;….

I'd like to say a big thank you to Justwise, Jarus and every other person who at some point was a source of inspiration.

I'll also like to encourage every one presently studying in the UK; Keep your head up!!!…. It will pay off eventually.

One line of advice; "Study to understand…and not just to pass". Your certification will get your foot in the door…. but it's your knowledge that will get you a seat in the room. Also for those who'll be rounding up this summer; start sending your applications to companies you wish to work for. (The recruitment process could take a while for some organisation(s)

God willing; i'll be resuming at my new office in 12 days time.

Investment Banking; Yes!!!…. I'm in cheesy cheesy cheesy

I never said it doesn't work at all, however the ratio is too small. It is unarguable that the immigration policy is other countries are better than UK's

Once you are done in Canada and Australia you get work permit. It makes a lot of difference.

But that does not grantee you a good job.that's why canada visa is so difficult to get.and australia work permit is not automatic you must have studied a two years course masters and most masters is either 1yr or 1.5years,must be working in a related field to what you studied its not a straight forward thing.

I wonder where you got the data to determine the ratio grin
Now you're vouching for other countries as if you have first hand experience.
I believe everyone's path can never be the same. Some come fully prepared and made a lot of plans. Others, well, you know cool

In Canada at least you get automatic work permit which makes getting a job easy. I have not gotten a job yet but I have 2 interviews pending after assessment centre.

I consider this impressive given that I am studying a specialised oil and gas course, so don't make it sound like I am bitter or anything.

The possibilities are extremely difficult in the UK giving the stringent work visa requirements for international students.

Getting a work permit when one is studying in Canada doesn't mean the person will get placement in places like Shell calibre etc. Its still the same thing as working part time in the UK. most of these jobs you can grab in canada (while still studying) is marketing jobs (esp in ontario), just the way they market forever aloe vera living products in naija. however upon graduation, its a different ball game. Canada is very very competitive, and the same way there is a preference for british nationals before international students is the same in Canada. It all boils down to God, the quality of your degree, skills and also tapping opportunities.

Automatic work permit doesn't make it easier to get jobs, it just gives you more time to look for graduate jobs while working menial jobs. Most people do not look for graduate jobs with that opportunity and just settle for menial jobs.

I, am not making it sound like you're bitter. YOU are making it so.
What exactly is the stringent work visa requirements?
To get a graduate job within 4 months after graduation? Which most people get before even graduating.

The truth is that, psw does not determine whether you get a graduate job or not. Your experiences and result does.

This article highlights the difference between UK and competing economies in terms of immigration policy towards foreign students.

I am here in the UK, my future is very promising however I will Always tell other Nigerian students that there are FAR more better options in terms of foreign countries to study in than the UK.

Emm... Net immigration quota also contributes to prospects. If Australia has no quota to the number of international students allowed to work after studies, is it.logical to say that students in the UK have equal opportunities as their Australian counterparts for example?
