In all you do, do not wear those clothes for any reason. It happened to my dad some years back and when we got to know that his friend's intention, we were beyond shocked. As a matter of fact, grab the next keg of fuel and burn everything. Most importantly, stay away from that person.

Hi, bosses! Well done for the good job you are doing. I have a LG G Pro 2 with a broken screen and which the down part of the screen doesn't respond to touch very well anymore, though the screen is still very clear. I have looked for how to fix it in Nigeria but no luck. I met an engineer who said he can fix it for me if I can buy the screen online. I need to know the exact thing to buy please. They say the screen comes with the touch. Please kindly help me check the links below to know which of them I need to buy.

In this naija?

Please be realistic sir...

A brother traveling gave his car to a senior church member to use while he was away.

When he came back after 7 months, the church member refused to return the car. He said the car had engine and gear problems which he spent a lot of money to fix.

The church member said bro should pay him N150k cost of engine and gear repair before he would release the car....

It escalated to police matter... Being a senior church member, the church guy had the police behind him.

That was how bros lost his car, a 96 honda accord.

If a book is good, editors will know its value... If the editor rushes to the printer and prints my manuscript as his/her own...they will most likely do that secretly.... But if i get to know, ... What can i do?

Don't tell me to go police or hire lawyer pls... I dont have d moni or time... If this happens, what can i do?

For your reference..... https://www.nairaland.com/2986660/felicia-chidi-commercial-vehicle-driver

Hire a professional editor. Ask for references from people the editor has worked for. I agree there are some so-called editors who are guilty of your claims, nevertheless, writers still give editors their manuscripts everyday.

I have sent doc files to ppl to edit/proof read for me before...

The thing is... Let me say it in simple terms... How do you expect a Camry to tow a Sienna... Something lik that... My lecturers, some English teachers in school... When they read d first few lines, they start getting "intimidated" ..

And these people, even though they are scholars, have not written or published a book before... My sense of English is even better than theirs... You know how naija teachers used to write gbagaun on the board nau....... .how will they edit my book?

Some will later say that they dont hav time...

Then, the risk of a whole manuscript getting"stolen"...

Man gotta b careful.

Permit me to disagree with you especially on the manuscript getting stolen issue. Except you do not give your manuscript to a professional editor/proofreader, there is no way your manuscript can be stolen from you. If you approach any editor with your manuscript, you are free to ask for reference from writers the editor has worked for before. Getting a verifiable address is another and perhaps signing a non-disclosure agreement. I am an editor. I have been working for two people I met on Nairaland about five years ago and we still do business together. I have never met one of them based in Abuja, the other man I met during his book launch in Lagos about three years ago.

On English teachers being intimidated when they read your manuscript, being an English teacher is totally different from being an editor. There are many editors who do not even have their background in the Arts or Humanities and are doing very well as professional editors and proofreaders. You only need to get the right man for the job and your story will change.

If you want, send me five pages of any manuscript you want to work on and I will edit/proofread it for free.

NYSC / Bauchi Corps Member Organises Empowerment Seminar For Girls by mortee: 10:02am On Mar 17, 2016
Today, March 17 2016, a corps member presently serving in Bauchi State will be hosting female students from selected schools in Bauchi to a programme she tagged "Educate, Empower and Enlighten the Girl-child". She has three female facilitators who will be speaking on this topic and sharing their experiences to encourage the young girls to aspire to be more in life.

According to the host of the event, Aanu Bankole, there was a great challenge in putting the programme together as majority of the people she approached for sponsorship gave one excuse or the other as to why they could not help while some didn't even bother to reply her several mails.

"The initial plan was even to do a personal community development project where books, soaps and sanitary towels will be given to senior secondary school students in Bauchi local government but the responses I got were not encouraging and I wanted to cancel the whole thing altogether. But my passion for the girl-child education and enlightenment pushed me to organise this seminar. I'm glad that in my own little way I can positively impact the girls' lives during my NYSC year in Bauchi."

Aanu Bankole is a graduate of Sociology from the University of Lagos and aside her passion for the girl-child empowerment, she has a flair for dressmaking too.

If you are in Bauchi, please support this young lady and attend the seminar at Bauchi State Library.

I just saw a post on the homepage of nairaland about ladies with big tummy and i read a lot of comments which i dont like. For me, flat tummy doesnt mean anything because i have dated two baby oku's that only care about there looks and what they wear. They dont cook, wash or give reasonable advice, its just give me this and buy me this. Am done looking at shapes and height especially now that marriage is on the cards. The main reason am writing is my little sister(21), the truth is that she doesnt eat much. Just once a day and she is ok provided that her battery is not flat and she has mb. I like her a lot and i know she will read this post cos she logs in with my moniker. I just want a simple way for her to loose weight and have flat tummy. If u know any means just tell me or u know any inexpensive product then just drop the comment

Has she tried Clean 9?

Her mom will come over for a 2-3 days. She is not the gift type. What makes her happy is family and family. Her father operates almost a compound family.

If you ask me, I'd say it's kind of early to have her mom come stay for 2-3 days just because your wife misses home. If you start this way, she'll never break loose from what you want her to stop doing, and challenges between you may be difficult to resolve because she knows she will always be accepted back home, even if temporarily. What happens if after her mum comes and goes, she keeps crying? Will you ask her mum to move in permanently? A better alternative would have been to ask her to go back home for some days till she stops missing her family.

Personally my brother, i don't advice you updating your device yourself as you might get it bricked.

SAFE: You try OTA update from your LG server...
All you have to do is to ensure that a WiFi connection is being enabled.

Take your phone and tap on menu and then hit settings.
Go to About Phone and choose Software update.
Check for update and if an OTA is being available just download the same.
Wait while the firmware is being updated on your LG G Pro 2.
In the end, your smartphone will reboot into Android OS.

Or you try downloading and installing Stock/Custom rom at your own convenient and risk if you have a PC.
The below links should put you through on that...

http://www.android.gs/update-lg-g-pro-2/
http://www.lg-phones.org/official-lg-g-pro-2-d838-v10f-firmware-rom.html

Last word: Don't try any update on a rooted phone.

Thanks, brother. Perhaps the phone knew the plans I had for it. The screen broke this evening cry sad cry Any idea how much it costs to fix it?

I don't know how this will go because it is deceit. Medical tourism is not a crime and it is a valid reason for travel so saying they did not ask at the interview or at poe if you were pregnant does not fly.
Your intent was to give birth but on your initial application it was vacation.
If you are pregnant again and that's the reason for this next trip then just be plain honest and tell the truth at the interview.

It went well:

Me: Good afternoon
VO: Good afternoon. Where are you traveling to in the US?
Me: Florida
VO: How long are you staying?
Me: 3 weeks
VO: Who is paying for this trip?
Me: My hubby
VO: What does he do?
Me: He's an IT Project Manager
VO: What do you do?
Me: I'm a copy editor. I work in a publishing firm.
VO: You stayed four months in the US the last time you traveled. Why?
Me: I stayed back to have my baby.
VO: How much did you pay in total?
Me: I paid the hospital --- and the doctor ---
VO: How much exactly?
Me: About ---, Paedietrician included.
VO: Can I see your receipts?
Me: (showed him)
VO: Do you intend to have another baby in the US during this trip?
Me: No, I'm not pregnant.
VO: What date did you have your baby in the US?
Me: March...2014
VO: Okay. Your visa has been approved. You can pick your passport at the DHL office on Monday. And keep your receipts well, you may be asked for them at the PoE.
Me: Thanks, ma'am!

Right thread. U can also ask on the birthing thread.
The issue is actually common. Last page has exactly the same scenario by a poster. They aren't satisfied u paid completely (I assume)
Go with all your reciepts of payment and gbogbo e. Also since u didn't disclose during the interview and poe, they wanna know if you are pregnant again. So better go prepared as if its your ist interview_back statements and all.

In retrospect, u should have disclosed to prevent this issue. But if u paid up, you are golden.
Good luck and plz post your transcript

Thanks, sis. I paid for everything and have my receipts and all. I'll sure give a feedback to the house when I'm back with the good news.

Hello house. I hope this is the right place to ask this. I applied for my US visa renewal through Drop-box last week Thursday. Only to receive a call today asking me to come for an interview on Wednesday.

I got my first visa in 2013 and traveled to have my baby in the US. I spent about 4 months then. I was not asked if I was pregnant or intended to have my baby during the previous interview, neither was I asked at the PoE and I didn't volunteer the information too. Could this be the reason for needing to go for an interview before my visa is renewed? I have receipts of my medical bills and a letter of non-indebtedness too.

Who else has experienced this before and any suggestions on what to expect at the interview?
