Politics / Re: Ibru Brothers In Legal Tussle Over Federal Palace Hotel by niddamugu(m): 12:36pm On Mar 14, 2012
This has been there for ages. I hope Nigerians, especially our politicians, would learn lessons from this - 1Tim 6:6-7 But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

The dead man is gone and the same fate awaits the other 2 brothers including you and me. The only thing they need to do is to follow what God told Hezekiah - 2Ki_20:1 & Isa_38:1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt die, and not live. This issue of running from pillar to post in search of money (through legal and illegal means) is not it at all.

What is in it for them? Abi na for free? Let somebody tell me. GEJ, UK has challenged you. Please stop playing politics with the lives of innocent people. Come out and make a statement. It is possible that some people would be offended at what you may say, but if the majority of Nigerians are happy, then you have done well.

That is where they are going. Besides, are they not creating additional job for JEGA? What will be the cost of the election? Printing of ballot papers, rigging, election tribunals, in fact they are short of creative ideas. angry angry angry

Politics / Man Climbs Mast To Press Ex-vp Pay Debt by niddamugu(m): 7:30pm On Mar 13, 2012
A mild drama played out Tuesday afternoon at the Federal High Court in Abuja as a middle aged man identified as Musa Inua climbed a telecommunication mast with the intention of committing suicide over an alleged N15 million debt owed him by former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
The media aide to Atiku, Mallam Garba Shehu told newsmen that the man was insane saying that it was not the best way to get anything from the former Vice President.
It took the combined efforts of the Nigerian Police Force, Fire Service and the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, to persuade the man to come down after about three hours on the mast.
Garba profusely defended his principal and affirmed that his boss is one man that pays his bills. “We honestly suspect that this man is mental, if there is one Nigerian who pays all his bills, that man is Atiku Abubakar. if the idea of his pole climber is to get any money from the Turaki, this certainly is not the best way to go about It”.
“Left for me, I will say that the man should simply be ignored. He will climb down when he gets tired of staying up there” Garba Shehu added.
The man had earlier brought a petition to the court seeking to see the Chief Judge but he was asked to take the petition to the Adamawa division of the court saying that Abuja division did not have jurisdiction on the mattter.
When the man’s efforts to see the Chief Judge failed, he stylishly walked to the back of back of the court where the mast was located and started his journey to the tope of the mast.
The man was discovered on top of the mast by one of the staff of the court who in turned alerted the security operatives.
When asked to come down, the man who spoke hausa fluently, insisted that he would not come down until Atiku or the Inspector General Police comes around.
After about several hours of persuading him to come down,an Assistant Commissioner of Police ACP, Sunday Odukoya, spoke to him in hausa language using a megaphone and assured him that the IG is around and that an agreement has been brought for his money to be paid.
After hours of persuation, the man finally responded to Odukoya and came down of the mast.
He was quicly driven away by the police in a Toyota Hilux van with the registration number FG 568 BO.
The FCT Police Command spokesman, Mr. Jimoh Moshood, stated that they are taking the man away for investigation over the allegation he leveled against the former Vice President.

Sports / Amusa Shittu Is Dead (Former Nigerian International, aka 'The Bulldozer') by niddamugu(m): 6:03pm On Mar 13, 2012
The late Nigerian player, Amusa Shittu

P.M.Sports gathered that the former Nigerian striker, who has been bed-ridden with stroke since February, died around 12:30pm today at the General Hospital in Gbagada, Lagos State, Nigeria. He was aged 75.

A close of friend of the former NEPA-ECN player, veteran sports journalist, Segun Adenuga, confirmed his death this afternoon.
Adenuga said the late Shittu, who was survived by two boys and a girl, battled hard to stay alive from the ailment, “but he gave up in a painful way this afternoon, just 24 hours to the day that Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola plans to fly him to Indian for further treatment.”
According to Adenuga, “We have notified the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Lanre Babalola, to inform him of the latest development. The burial is tentatively fixed for Wednesday, 14 March, 2012. It is painful that Shittu has to leave his little children and rest of us at this period,” Adenuga lamented this afternoon.

Shittu, fondly called ‘The Bulldozer’ was one of the greatest footballers that ever played for Nigeria even under the colonial masters.
Born in Jos, Plateau State in 1937, by a Yoruba parentage, Amusa Shittu began his soccer career in 1958, when he featured for Plateau and Northern Region X1.
The ebony-black striker got his first invitation into the national team, The Red Devils, in 1959, where he showcased his soccer talents alongside great players like Teslim Balogun, Dejo Fayemi, Olu Onagoruwa, Jide Johnson, Monday Sinclair, Cyril Nwajei, Godwin Etemeke, Asuquo Ekpe and Peter Amaechima.
Although he had his first call up to the national team in 1959, Amusa Shittu made his debut on 10 September, 1960, when he played in Nigeria’s 2-2 draw against Ghana in a World Cup qualifier. He scored his first international goal in Nigeria’s 4-1 victory against Port Guinea, now Guinea Bissau in October 1960.
Shittu was also renowned for scoring the only goal in an Olympic qualifier in Nigeria against Sudan on 5 November, 1967 and also scored two goals in the reverse fixture on 17 November in Khartoun to silence the vociferous Sudanese home supporters.
He was a member of the Green Eagles squad that played against the visiting German Olympic team in 1971 at Onikan Stadium, Lagos.
On the local scene, Amusa Shittu was in the team that won the F.A Cup for the Western Region in 1961 and indeed, was the first footballer to have scored an F.A Cup final goal outside the Onikan Stadium in the1961 final between his team and UAC, Broad Street Millionaires, at the Old National Stadium, the site of the present National Stadium.

Shittu’s greatest moment was in 1970 when he propelled ECN (NEPA) to their third F.A Cup glory against his former club, Highlanders of Jos.The game had ended 1-1 apiece before Shittu, a coach/player, came on to rescue his team by scoring the winning goal for ECN.
Shittu, was bed-ridden at the Gbagada General Hospital, Lagos, battling to survive the trauma of stroke that struck him on 12 February, 2012 before he finally gave up today.

Health / Re: My 3-Year-Old Nephew Is A "Drug Addict". Help! by niddamugu(m): 5:58pm On Mar 13, 2012
I hope you don't buy "nameless" drugs - i mean the ones the chemist would use his plastic spoon to scoop and sell to you and after purchase, you label them yourself. Otherwise, I don't expect this to be a funny matter at all. Standard drugs (even the ones for children), it is always written on the pack or bottle - "keep out of reach of children". Why is your own different? Or is he showing sign of the future? DO NOT JOKE about this matter.

LagBlogger: @ Seun

Which kain blog theme you carry put for nairaland? This one no fine at all. Comot am sharp sharp and return to the old one or else!

@ Topic

See OBJ, in 2006 mr Wade was advising you not to be a sit-tight president, today you are the one advising others, is it because you failed in your third term bid? If you had succeeded would you be offering this unsolicited advice by now?

Men OBJ you are not qualified to give such advice so keep it to yourself because you will not be taken seriously.

OBJ did not condone any form of disrespect to uniformed men during his tenure (remember the ODI case in Delta). Despite the failure of his 3rd term bid, he was the best man that could have handled the country especially after a stretch of military rule. Compare that of Late Yar'Adua (ND militants) and now GEJ (Boko Haram). No one gave the Occupy Nigeria any chance of gathering such massive crowd - the first day was like "who are they?", second day (what's going on?", the third day no more questions but "this is getting serious, I want to go and see for myself", and on and on, to the extent that people are looking forward to another time such would happen. The Arab uprising did not start up just like that. One thing led to another and then one country observed the other and then implemented. Nigeria's case cannot be different. There is a limit to which you can push a man and when there is no more going back the only option is to take the bull by the horn and attack. Unfortunately, the trend in this country is heading that way but I pray is does not get there in Jesus name.

God makes the difference in any circumstance. Your question is sensual and not Holy Spirit inspired. Sensual answer says - women are the same no matter the profession. But with God nothing shall be impossible.

On the other hand I think she is still growing and in d baby stage of Christianity "When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things." (1 Corinthians 13:11) when she comes to maturity she would discard all those other stuffs. According to Paul. . ."All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any." (1 Corinthians 6:12).

Don't bother yourself. You asked a question and you ended up with the answer. You can only get born again once - correct, but after this you are expected to live a holy life through faith in Christ. Your sister is a victim of some heretic doctrines that are characteristics of the last days. When you mentioned her background - Christ Embassy, I knew she's already soaked in some cloudy murky water. My fear is that she may not be interested in the true doctrine otherwise the only solution to her problem is found in 2Co 6:16-18. I say no more.

@niddamugu,the nigerian judiciary ought not be judged by what happens at election petition tribunals, this is a criminal case and i can strongly assure you she'll get justice if she tried!

Thanx Bro. My advice is for her to just forget about it and leave the rest to God. What does she want to prove after 32years? Do we have any scientific method of proving this case? What would our culture say over this matter? How many of those "friends" (as at then) are still alive and would be willing to testify? Obviously, she never told anyone about it for 32 years. I'm sure she's a mother (if not almost a G-Mother) and a wife. What is she expecting her husband to do now? These are fundamental question she must answer and while she's trying to answer them, she should leave everything to God.

Olalekan 0:

If the victim is able to locate the spot at which she was despoiled,am sure something incriminating would be found, more so the despoilers past can be dug into!

Are you saying that wherever has not changed in the last 32 years? Abi you just dey wine me? grin grin grin grin grin
