'STORY FOR THE GODS'. Present a muslim/ muslim ticket and watch pdp suspend all campaigns cos you would have done all the campaign for them...... Especially in this era of bokoharam and ISIS
You PDP fanatics just hating arguing with facts. We all know this religion nonsense hold no water in the SW and we all know the SE/SS will definitely be voting for GEJ. If you think SW will vote for GEJ because of a muslim/muslim ticket, then you are kidding yourself.

The SW is far more enlightened that that. We are more tolerant to ourselves regardless of religion.

People act like painted sepulcher here..everybody is saying religion ain't important but character ...yes I agree with the submission but I will not sacrifice equity on the alter of character

We have characters in other religion and zones

Why can't APC pair Igbo we have them in rochas and Amaechi they are also Christians

To be honest this country is divided on these basis religion and tribes

Its like Moslem ruling Britain or Italy its unthinkable
There must be a middle ground so I am not in support of this

Besides that let fashola tell us the internally generated revenue and expenditure of Lagos

Is his projects commensurate with the money

We all get skeleton on our closet so let's quit acting mother Theresa

What makes you think the ticket will win even if yoruba christians are okay with it? You make it look like there are no christians in the north in middle belt.It is even easier for christians in the SE/SS to vote in a muslim-muslim ticket than these northern xtians who have borne the brunt of the boko haram insurgency
And you also forget the fact that the Christians in these regions are small just like the muslims in the SE/SS. It works both ways.

In my opinion, APC has won already if they field Fashola and Buhari especially with everything pointing to Obasanjo endorsing Buhari.

SW is APC's area of strength no doubt but SW to many extent only care about performance and wonderful combination unlike SS/SE who would consider what to vote for before doing the needful.

APC has good structures in SW that can deliver votes regardless of who emerged but no strong structure in SE/SS and that is why something must be given those two predominantly christian region something to consider voting for along religion and tribal line since such factor can never be ruled out in Nigerian Political Atmosphere .... !!!

The SE have never hidden it disdain for APC.....majority of the people see the party as an Islamic / Muslim party....hence have labeled it with all sort of ridiculous names.

The most visible politican from SE ....Rochas Okorocha have practically been labeled as an outcast so do many igbo politicians....even here on NL.....what have YOU personally done to project a different opinion about the party....except Berem...Ngenekwenu....Obiagelli...egift...and Omenka...who are always derided.

Political gains, positions and patronage are not what you think you are entitled to...it's what you've worked hard for.....the SW has worked for APC....they morally deserved it.

In my opinion.....SE does not have any moral justification to demand for such high profile position considering how that part of the country have been abusing the party and all the people that I've identified with the party from SE.

It's like Asari Dokubo asking for VP .

Yes many here might say Jonathan is slow and inept but the fact is
If we can do a comparative analysis between Jonathan Buhari and past one obasanjo... we will realise that Jonathan is best of them all

Who can disprove the facts

The only problem Jonathan has is that he is from minority and a Christian for that matter

Now let's imagine if we have Christian christian ticket

What will be outcome of north

Billyonaire:
The most populated state in Nigeria is Lagos, and I am sure the APC banked on that to test the waters with Fashola, but fact remains that the largest voters in Lagos State are the populace that are made up of over a million former okada riders that Fashola betrayed. Igbos also make up 45% of the voters, and Fashola illegally deported Igbos and other minorities based on his tribal principles and deep-rooted jealousy for their enterprise. If the above analogy is to influence, which of course I believe will, the voting fulcrum, then Fashola is in for a shocker. That's one.

Fact Two; There are more christians in Lagos state than muslims. No good christian, and they are many in number, will vote a muslim-muslim ticket, they will rather vote Jonathan who is already equipped with the machinery and resources to retain the house of cards.

Fact three: Buhari's history of failure is already known, at 70 and with poor education, I doubt his veracity and temerity to lead the present cream of sophisticated Nigerians who want leaders in the pack of Obama, David Camron etc to lead them in this generation. Nigerians deserve a President that can do better than Jonathan in grammatical prowess, body language Simulation, charismatic diplomacy, and Buhari is not that man, Buhari is a choice for 1980s Nigerians and not for our present cyber generation.

At the moment, Buhari remains a good option, GEJ remains the better option and our only choice, and in 2019, we will find the best man for that time.

Let me conclude by adding this painful truth; Buhari will NEVER be President of Nigeria again.
dreamer.

theshadyexpress:
Christians in Osun State, especially members of the Osun Baptists Conference, on Monday protested against the attempted merger of Muslim students wearing hijab with the Baptists High School, Iwo, under the new education policy introduced by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

Aregbesola last week inaugurated a new education policy in Osun, which the governor said had necessitated re-classification and merger of public schools in the state to reflect the new education system.

The governor, who expressed worry about the protest, however, urged the people to cooperate with the school restructuring, saying the policy was introduced as part of transformation of the education sector by his government.

Aggrieved Christians armed with Holy Bible and Hymn books trooped to the Baptists High School as early as 7:30am and dislodged the students and prevented teachers from entering the school premises.

They said that the merger of the schools, if allowed to succeed, would obliterate the Baptist heritage and that they would not allow hijab-wearing students in a school founded by Christian missionaries.

The Christian protesters defied the presence of armed security operatives shocked and insisted that they would not allow the merger to work.

Presiding minister for the 35 Baptist churches in Iwo land, Rev. Bayo Ademuyiwa, said the church had nothing against the government’s attempt to equip schools in the state but he said that the church would not allow any attempt to erase its identity and heritage.

He said, “Our forefathers and missionaries sacrificed their lives, resources and everything to establish schools, reputable schools with morals and values and that is why the Baptists in Iwo land are here to protect our schools.

“Without any doubt, the Baptists in the state are known for excellence, decorum and dignity. These virtues are highly cherished by the Nigerian Baptist Convention and this is the reason why the Baptists are making these two submissions which are, “Baptists in Iwo land say no to merger of schools and Baptists in Iwo land say no to the use of hijab in Baptists schools.

“While we welcome genuine efforts to provide modern infrastructures and equipments in schools in Osun State, the Baptists see merger of schools as a step in the wrong direction as it will rob us of our identity and bring more pains to parents and students.”

Chairman, Osun State Christian Association of Nigeria, Rev. Elisha Ogundiya, also said that CAN would not allow any programme to erase the legacy of the Church.

Ogundiya said, “We have maintained this stand from inception and we will continue to defend lawfully what belong to us as Christians in the state.”

“As a major stakeholder in the state, the leadership of CAN expects the state government to invite us to discuss this issue without delay. We wish to explain it clearly that at no time did the new leadership of CAN in Osun held any meeting with the state government on the issue of merger of schools.”

But the governor, in a statement by his media aide, Semiu Okanlawon, allayed the fears , promising that the interest of all groups, organisations, religious and social bodies would be protected in the ongoing re-classification and reform.

He urged the people of the state to discountenance and dismiss “any untrue and baseless insinuation” critics of the government might be spreading across the States.

That is because PDP being a democratic party did not impose a more capable candidate than Omisore on the state branch. Imagine if they had nominated Isiaka Adeleke, it would have been like Ekiti where Fayose, (Ekun oko APC - Tiger devouring APC).
Meanwhile more on the SENSELESS religious violence instigated by daft Aregberascal =>

Aregbesola visits Baptist High School, Iwo; brings Muslim, Christian parents together

Governor of the State of Osun, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola today visited Baptist High School, where some students protested over the wearing of hijab (veil) by female students.

Aregbesola explained that his government neither approved nor disapproved of the use of hijab in any school.

The governor while making his remarks at the peace meeting between the Muslim community and Christian Community at the Baptist High School in Iwo and the distribution and assessment of the performance of Opon Imo, noted that it is the court’s position that the status quo ante be maintained until the case is determined.

Aregbesola stressed that his government being a product of rule of law is guided in all its actions in strict adherence to the principles of the rule of law in the state.

He said, “We are a product of the rule of law and this has guided all our actions. As we have said in the past, we have not approved the use of hijab in any school. Let me repeat this again for the hearing of mischief-makers who have been working tirelessly to bring religious war to our state.

“Those prompting chaos and conflagration in our state; those who have well established antecedent of violent behaviour; those sowing the seed of discord in our schools and community and inciting one religion against another, as we have said in the past, government did not at any time approve the use of hijab in any school, before the matter went to court. It is the court’s position that the status quo ante be maintained until the case is determined. It is the court’s position that the status quo ante be maintained until the case is determined. ”The governor told the gathering.

He pointed out that government has set up a committee on discipline in public schools and when the report is out government shall begin to enforce discipline in all schools.

The Deputy Governor, Mrs Grace Titilayo-Tomori who doubles as the commissioner for Education who spoke earlier said, “Peace must be a permanent feature not only in our schools but every facets of the state. So, where there is pocket of disturbances, government will respond swiftly in restoring peace and order. This is what has been demonstrated at the peace meeting held at Baptist High school premises”.

Speaking earlier, representatives of the 3 religions lamented that things that are ordinarily unconnected with learning and knowledge have now been constituting impediments to students’ progress in their studies.

They stated that none of them supported the unconventional ways students have been dressing to school.

Rev Bayo Ademuyiwa, who spoke on behalf of the Christians said, “We are in support of programmes and policies of government on Education since the last three years. We also express our disappointment over the crisis playing out in Baptist High School for sometimes. We want to tell government that we are lovers of peace and we abhor disunity.”

Alhaji Idris Magaji, who spoke on behalf of Muslim parents, said the three religions have the responsibility to fight against indecent dressing and promote love and unity among all students regardless of their faiths.

“We are a peace loving people. And we are proud of the many innovations in the education sector of the current administration. We must not allow agents of destablisation to deprive our children the quality education for which the current administration has been working,” Magaji said.

Mr. Ifawole Anifalaje, who also spoke on behalf of the traditional religious worshippers, prayed that peace reigned in the community and that the vision of the present administration for quality education be realized.

“We don’t have problem with any faith. What we also want is the progress of our children. We were never part of the plan to make any masquerade to come to Baptist High School. Some other people looking for trouble must have instigated the coming of a masquerade to the school compound.

Totally agree with you. Whats wrong with a Fashola-Amaechi ticket (to woo SS&SE voters) or a Fashola-Elrufai ticket (to woo northern voters). These are people with proven administrative credentials. Buhari has nothing to offer Nigeria IMO and he still hasn't cleared the air on those extremist comments he made in 2001. If we're serious about getting rid of the PDP next year, we must be present flawless and workable alternatives to them. Why present extreamist Buhari as an alternative to the PDP when we still have an islamist insurgency in the north, or the overnight billionaire Atiku, when Nigeria is still a hotbed of corruption? Those are not credible alternatives to the PDP undecided

Just like most yorubas..I have Muslims and Christians in my own household...living amicably without rancour, so why should we allow foreign religion to determine who to vote for against competency.
