This is a thread on Reddit about what you do when you lost your diploma. Just reading through the first few post you can see that graduating certificates from colleges are mostly ceremonial abroad and they hang it on the wall.Its not an official record by any means. Please have some sense before posting trash and lies.

Your first claim was that there is no such thing as Unofficial or Official transcript when everyone who has applied to school in U.S or any western country knows there is. I do not have time to be discussing stamps with you. It is not the stamps that make the transcript official but that it is verifiable to come directly from the school. Some universities in the past will allow you to self deliver transcripts as long as it was in a sealed envelope. But they have stopped accepting these because of his issues that the envelope can be opened, manipulated and resealed.

Now, for the transcript to be official, the results must come directly from your school and to the requesting institution. Or , it must be an encrypted PDF verified on an online server. In fact if you attempt to print out from the Encrypted PDF, it will either 1) not allow you to print it or 2)Paste unofficial as a watermark on the printed copy.

The reason why I know this is because I have one of such PDFs from a school I graduated from. Many institutions will accept you to send this PDF to them. Not a print out from it. But the PDF itself. The idea being that the PDF is encrypted and cannot be tampered with.

No where is a stamp or no stamp an important matter in this discussion.

Nope, stamped university results are only official to people like you. To actual educated people like me, they are mere information papers which are very susceptible to be forged. You are yet to say the circumstances in which you were giving a transcript.
Were you applying for a job or for an other school ?
Where was your diploma ? Did you even have a diploma ?

They thought your transcript was a fraud. There is no such thing as "official transcript" it is all the same. But it is a document which can easily be faked. And as you said, you had your university send them the transcript. Your problem is more about the people you submitted your transcript not trusting you.
You haven't said in what circumstances you were submitting your transcript. It seems you don't have a diploma.

I don't have time to waste discussing with you.If you don't know that there is both unofficial and official transcript in America then you don't know enough about U.S university system to be discussing with me. You can go on Google and search for it yourself

Not in America. I have attempted to submit one with a stamp on it in the past and the school rejected it. I had to go to my University to send them the official one directly from them.

I studied in a developed country (France) with the sale exact system as in America.
A transcript is just a stamped paper with your results. You can download them nowadays from the university website. Back in the days, you needed to go to the secretary of the university and spend a while 5 minutes pending the printing and stamping of the transcript.

Wrong again, the purpose of a diploma is to give you an academic status. Attendance is not what dipolmas attest for, they attest fir the fact you past the exams in a satisfactory manner.
I have seen people attend a university but fail the exam, and I have seen people who showed up only during exams and passed the exams with success.
The group which failed the exams didn't get the degree, the one which didn't attend classes but past the exams well got the diploma.

Dude, my transcripts are just ordinary paper printed by the university staff then stamped. Yes, in the absence of your diploma within conditions, you are allowed to use the transcript as proof you do have said diploma, that is why the university is always quick to deliver transcripts while you are waiting for your diploma. But you should know that it is perfectly reasonable for your transcript to be refused (that happened to me) and for the recruiter to insist that you must present your degree.

Maybe in Nigeria. But in America what makes a transcript authentic is that it comes DIRECTLY from the school i.e they must be the one to mail it directly to the requesting individual. Even if the school prints it and stamps and you mail it yourself, then it can be agreed to be official except it's in a SEALED and UNOPENED envelope.

This is the kind of stuff I hate to see online. You clearly didn't read the entire deposition because Nigerian don't read. This was one of the first questions the CSU rep was asked. That does their institution receive any donations from Tinubu or have they met him or any of his lawyers before to which they said No. Except when Tinubu requested his certificate. If you read it well, it is likely that Tinubu has requested a certificate from CSU and also had one that he got from the third party vendor which are very similar but not identical. That is the one he submitted to INEC. If you ask me, so long as he can prove he graduated from CSU and no evidence of identity theft then there is no case here. If you don't know the institution that gives the degree is the only one that can say for sure if the degree is fake or real. This is common sense. The academic system is different. A in America is usually 90. In Nigeria, A is 70. Nigerian institution have stricter grading. The smartest studnet in a Nigerian university will not be graded 90 but 75 or something which is an A.

The systems are different. This is why U.S system doesn't really deal with certificates but transcripts. Third parties be printing all type of certificates. If you want accurate record of any student's academic record, you simply need to get the university to send you the transcript. They will send directly to the requestor. Anything not received directly from the university, they will never vouch for it. They will only defend what they sent to you DIRECTLY. This is why the university has no business telling you whether this certificate is real or forgery. But the transcripts they archive and store them. If you request for it in 100 years time they probably still have the transcript. The design of the certificate could be changed at any time but the academic record will always be kept.

The school already said they always use another party for replacement of certificate ( because certificate is not important to them).

If you read what the registrar said very well, they still have some certificates people don't come back to pick, just because transcript is the main thing to them.

If you want to verify academic standings in America, you simply ask the school for the transcript after the person has given you right to do a background check based on privacy laws. In about 2 weeks, they will send you the transcript. All this noise being made by Obi.di.ots literarily pisses me off. If CSU had come back to say he had no records in the school then we can discuss that but till then, this will be my last public comment on this issue.
