RomanceRe: Expectations When Visiting A Guy!! by 1one: 5:10pm On Oct 16, 2014
I was just laughing out loud at the poster that had a bucket list of things she expected the guy to do.. Duddess, seriously, just stay in your house... with all she listed you would wonder if she was going for shopping or a visit.

I think it pays to be friends with really cool and mature ladies...

One time when a friend came to see me.. From the moment she walked in through the door, till when she stepped out.. We were just talking and laughing.. Some girls are just cool like that.. I even wanted to offer her a drink but she declined.

Another one of my friends paid me a visit when I was cooking.... not just cooking ooo.. But frying plantain... and me I can sell my phone to buy just one bunch of plantains... I love plantains so much.. So when she came she was like "Ahh oti wa da.. mo ma bayin je plantain yi".. In my mind I was like cry.. Plantain that I've already planned to be drunk with..

After so much teases and banter... We ended up eating the plantain together from the same plate.. For some weird reason, she didn't want me to dish her own separately.. and me I don't eat with people not to talk of eating together with a girl... But bottom line, I enjoyed it.

As much as we like to think that all girls want you to be sharp and be a "badt" guy.. Some girls just come over to your place to have decent company, to gist talk, chill and relax... You don't have to pay for their tfares. If they've already formed an opinion of you in their mind, whether Good or Bad.. Paying or not paying their Trade wouldn't change such opinion... So really there's no stated law and rule that you must always pay a girl's Tfare.

P:S- Pardon any typos abeg... I just dey learn to use "swype" grinwink
RomanceRe: My Ideal Wife Spec. by 1one: 12:02pm On Oct 16, 2014
This is why I keep arguing with some people...

There are many girls that have all the "specs" the OP has listed..

I don't know how we got eaten by the mentality that if it's "too good"... then it can't be available... it's thought patterns like this that make many people settle... settle for way less than they desire or even deserve.

At the very basic level, know what you're worth. Not knowing in a pompous and conceited way.. Or knowing so that you can trample on others... But know what you're worth so that you'll know just exactly the type of shii-it you deserve and can accept.

For instance, I can't even think of dating a girl that's not remotely witty or who has an "F" in the sense of humor department...I'm very Witty and I have a very good sense of humor.. So if I add that to my specs and some people see it, they'd be like "Ahhh ahh...Ewo tu ni sense of wittiness ati sense of humor"... I'm not asking for an Ellen Degenerous type of humour.. but something tangible enough that can bounce back and forth between the both us when for instance nepa takes light and maybe the generator refuses to start.

What ever you desire is available.

For me, i dont think sleeping in different room is the best option cos i'm also a light sleeper and any lil noise wakes me. My dad snores heavily and it disturbs my sleep even though we dont sleep in the same room. Medical advice seems better
Yeah ofcourse medical solution is the best option, but if the treatment or therapy is going to last for a couple of months... I think it's still fair enough to stay in separate rooms.. Getting good sleep is very important I'm sure you would agree?... Imagine having half baked sleep consecutively for a month... It's definitely going to make you a very cranky person
FamilyRe: Dealing With A Snoring Partner by 1one: 8:06am On Oct 15, 2014
I don't think there's anything wrong in married couples sleeping in different rooms IF AND ONLY IF snoring of either partner is the cause.

I would love my wife till infinity but if she snores so loud as to disturb my sleep.... Then sweet, you're so leaving this bed... I can sneak into her bed every now and again for some midnight "action".. After that I fly back to my bed.

I had a room mate while serving, that snored like crazy, he was on the big side, so I guess generally fat people snore more.. I just couldn't stand it.... I'm a very very light sleeper, so the faintest sound wakes me up.... Anytime he starts snoring I either prod him a bit or hit his mattress, he stops for a while but continues.. It was such a frustrating experience... I was too delighted when he told us he was leaving the family house... Even though I later left too but wheeeeeew!!!!

Nobody deserves to be denied a peaceful sleep, I don't snore, I've had enough room mates through school and service year to attest to that, but if I did and I got married... I would by myself, carry myself to another room... Love conquers all quite alright, but when your body needs sleep and rest of mind... Love cannot block out the gravel-like sounds of a snoring partner.

Mum and Dad snore a lot,its like a competition between them...lol...but the one that bothers me now is my younger bro,Morning, afternoon and night he snores anytime he sleeps,he his not fat at all..he is just 21 and he snores this loud,I wonder what will happen when he gets married.. Is snoring hereditary?
So it can be inferred that you snore too right? grin
RomanceRe: Why Do Ladies Ignore Their Male Friends On Social Networks? by 1one: 4:28pm On Oct 14, 2014
The truth of the matter is... Just because you're online doesn't mean you're always available to chat or feel like chatting... It's like saying that because a car has tires that means it must always be moving.

However there are some people, mostly girls with an exaggerated sense of false self importance who have formed a habit of just ignoring a guy online, even if the guy is a sensible, matured No-show me your picture kinda guy.

Only few girls don't do this... I have a couple of them like that on my bbm...The reason they are still even on my bbm is because, you may just "need" them for some very particular information relating to hitting a million naira deal... This is really why I still keep them.

One of my contacts works with an airline agency...So I was asking her something some days back and she was like "I'm at the spa.... Talk later"... I was like "Ok"... You would think that when she left the spa, she'd be courteous and sensible enough to buzz back... Instead she was busy changing her dp up and down...

I just let her be... Two days later... She pinged and was like " YOU promised to call, but I didn't even see flash".. In my mind I'm like You see your life....

Personally what I've done to save myself stress is... I've divided my BBM contacts into categories

1.PEEPS
2.DELAYED REPLIERS
3.NEVER PING FOR SMALL TALK.

The contacts in the peeps categories are the very jovial, down to earth, funny, easily accessible girls.... They are the peeps that make my day.

For categories 2 and 3...well the names are self explanatory... So before I decide to ping any one in either of 2 or 3,I know what I'm expecting, so I don't end up being pissed and whenever any one from the peeps category think they've graduated.... then I'll move them to either categories 2 or 3.

Simple

No time for stress.

RomanceRe: Why Can't I Kneel Down To Beg My Girlfriend by 1one: 6:02pm On Oct 13, 2014
What did you do though...

For you to think of kneeling to beg, means you must have really messed up.

The key is truly meaning and being sincere that you're sorry, getting on your knees is not really necessary, a girl would kneel and pray and the next minute, she's kneeling giving some average joe a Mouth Action.

So calmly talk to her and apologize, let her see it in your eyes that you're sorry(I didn't say you should go and apply Robb on your eye o)

The reason why you shouldn't get a gift is because based on her type of personality, she may think you want to use the gift to "buy her over".... The same goes with Kneeling.

So just sit her down, talk and apologize as many times as possible using different words and statements that suggest remorse:

-I'm truly sorry
-I apologize
-I didn't know it would hurt you this way
-It makes me feel so bad that my actions hurt you this way.
-If you forgive me you'd never have to forgive me again, because it would never happen again.
-I can completely understand if you don't even want to look at me

Good luck begging.

But you should come and tell US what it is that you did. angry

RomanceRe: How Can I Make A Girl Laugh And Enjoy Being With Me? by 1one: 6:57am On Oct 12, 2014
Dude... Don't beat yourself up because you think you can't make a girl laugh.. I'm guessing this opinion is particularly how girls respond while chatting... Truth is sometimes, many times I dare say, it's the girl that lacks a good sense of humor... Some of them don't just "get it"... So why trip yourself over for girls like that... No matter how funny you're they'd always have this aloof, dummy, clueless response/look

Another case is, you're actually funny, they actually do laugh, but because it's over bbm, or Facebook or whatsapp you can't really see their reaction and so you end up being put off just because they didn't send you "ROFLAO*.

So to buttress what others have said.... Just be yourself, be cool, don't always start any conversation with the mindset of " kaii I must make this girl laugh today walahiii"

If you have that in mind, you'll be too anxious, too tensed and you may end up just ending the chat the very moment it started.
RomanceRe: Female Friend Zone!! by 1one: 6:36am On Oct 12, 2014
I friend zoned a girl about a month ago even though she's arguably the finest girl I've met this year.. I zoned her because she couldn't speak good enough english undecided... I know, I know, it may sound flimsy and trivial but my ears are just too sensitive to "GbA-GAUN" and correcting her every once and again was something she was not having, she even quarreled with me because of that.. undecided.. It's like every time I hear a raw, grammatical error, I start feeling nauseous, it's not as if... Okay.. Let me just stop and continue with the story..

So I decided not to nurse any further thoughts of actually dating > courting > marrying her. In my mind I decided we were just going to be friends, the bad thing was that, well not really a bad thing per se, she had already started having feelings for me... It was very palpable, very obvious... So I stopped checking up on her and doing all those "flirty" things I used to do before...

One day I woke up, checked my bbm contacts,-She had yanked me off... I was like shocked.

I didn't bother calling her or seeing her again because if a girl can yank you off her bbm, then...in the immortal words of Commander Shem..... DazzALL! angry

So yeah, friendzoning goes both ways, but ofcourse girls friendzone guys more in the ratio of 10:3.

Things to do to be Romantic:

Early Morning messages
Teasing her and making her laugh
Play games together,
Do crazy things and don't be shy,
Surprise her with a soft kiss on neck,
Whisper sweet words in her ear and bite her ear
When both of you are in an event, scribble sweet words in a paper and send it to her,
Tickle her and make her chase you,
Cook once in awhile,
Touch and cuddle her,
Call her pet names,
You can draw a caricature of you and her, even if its not fine, she'll still love it.
When she's sleeping, kiss her back or her chest or her forehead, etc.

My romantic days: even if the girl wanted to eat your money, she'll rethink.
The nutritional value of the ear goes as follows

Fibre........... 70%
Protein......... 25%
Carbohydrate...5%

Source: gringrin

But seriously, everything you listed out as being ways to be romantic is on point....very on point and even though 90% of Nigerian girls want you because of your money, however for the remaining 10% who would love a guy for who he is, the romantic gestures you listed would most definitely have them floating in the air... Literally. gringrin
RomanceRe: WHY Young Ladies Marry Older Men; It's Not For Their Money by 1one: 4:45am On Oct 12, 2014
I would soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much have loved to believe that her reason for marrying a man almost 3-decades older than her was purely due to love; but personally I think money was a major factor... I'm assuming 85-90% factorial(Mathematicians and Statisticians don't mind me borrowing your termgrin)

I mean come on, when her mother was in her first trimester, the man was 28years old!!! shocked. You can just picture the look of utter disgust and shock if the man had met the mother, and with love struck puppy eyes went like "Hello Madam, that pikin for your belle na me go marry am"

But it's amazing how truly time changes perceptions, perspectives, opinions and even sometimes belief systems

The truth is that we can go on and on judging, or mocking and ridiculing people like this cradle and cradle snatcher, but at the end of the day, it is their lives, and they can't be in the least sense concerned about what anybody thinks.

I pray I find love..true and sincere love, love so pure and genuine, so warm and refreshing that it makes the sun ice-cold, but despite this genuine desire... If I had an option to choose, I'd choose Wealth and Riches.. Lots of it... Because in this present world, Love is simply just another item on the shelf and you can buy as many/much as you want, as many sizes and flavours as you so desire.
