discusant: Going deep into the story, one sees it may be a set up.
Without trial and conviction, EFCC quickly names the Igbo operative on the pages of newspapers. The legislator and senior EFCC operative involved were not named.
I can bet that this is a set-up job. The legislator and senior EFCC operative collaborated to humiliate the Igbo EFCC operative.
There's nothing tribalism can't do in Nigeria of today. That is the standard procedure of efcc. In January 2016, an operative - Abdulraham Mohammed Biu was also arrested for collecting $150,0000 from some military officers under investigation, the operative was named but the bribe givers were not. In the current case, Uzodinma that collected bribe from the legislator is not even in charge of the case. He only wanted to serve as intermediary at best or to just play a fast one. It serves no purpose disclosing the name of the detective in charge since he was apparently not in the know of the bribe. Efcc don't and cannot just publicly disclose the names of its detectives anyhow. It is on need to know basis |

This was how Ajaokuta was up to around 1993 when Russian TPE held sway. Wide roads, good neighborhoods, standard schools, well maintained green areas, etc. Infact it was selling surplus electricity to NEPA from its thermal plant then.
After the Russians left, all the infrastructure collapsed. The so-called Nigerian engineers that filled the maintenance department could not even run the power plant. Nigeria is not ripe for independence. |

emmasege: Let the change begin with APC-led Executive and APC-led Legislature, and then the dullard.inho can expect that the change will begin with me.
By the way, It's not only budget padding that was discovered during their recess, our president's speech was also padded with Obama's words. Bubu should be asked to apologize to us as well, or we even suspend him like NASS may contemplate for Dogara/Jubrin. If Professors and academics lose their jobs because of plagiarism, our president deserves his own share of punishment for intellectual theft. In a sane country where legislators know why they are in the hallowed chambers, they would be demanding an explanation/apology to the nation from their president, immediately they resumed from recess.
If Bubu will not be sanctioned on account of his plagiarism, then all Nigerian academics who have been sacked on account of plagiarism should be recalled, and none should be sanctioned any longer.
If Intellectual theft is not stealing or corruption and Bubu does not deem it fit to do the needful, then he has no moral ground to tell me that 'change begins with me'. What is the legal punishment for plagiarism? Plagiarism is an ethical offence not legal offence. It is not the same as copyright |

seunmsg: This man is the most stupid professor I have ever seen in my entire life. He is not different from the wailing crew on NL who goes about writing unreasonable stuffs without good reference/source once it is against the president.
He admitted that vanguard is not a credible source but still went ahead to write about a phantom $6million treatment bill with the same discredited vanguard as the source. And now, instead of giving a straight apology, he's still grandstanding and blaming the president for not denying the news in time. His motive becomes more curious when you realise that this is coming just a few days after the national outrage about patience Jonathan's $15million medical bill account. We really need to upgrade our libel laws. People should be made to face more stiffer sanctions when they write absolute falsehood to deliberately hurt other people. He didn't admit that vanguard is not a credible source. He said it is not always a credible source which means it can get it right sometimes. When a highly visited site carried a damaging news since 4 months ago and the dimwits in the presidency did not deny it, why shouldn't the professor assumed it was an undeniable fact. Why did presidency ignore the Vanguard which is by far more popular than the prof's Facebook page only to now bounce on the professor? How many people even saw the denial of the presidency if not for nairaland? |

Moremi was an Ife born princess who was used to spy and learn the war secret of the enemy by her Ife people. She volunteered to risk her life and put herself in position to be captured by the enemies banking on her beauty to save her from being killed at sight. The enemies fell for the plot, captured her and gave her to their king as spoil of war. The king was foolish enough to reveal his people's war secrets to a captured spy because of pussy.
It is like Russians accusing an American born CIA agent of betrayal or USA accusing a Russia born KGB agent of betrayal because he spied on them.
He needs to go and learn what is called Secret Agent before spewing rubbish. |

Moreover how many GM are in a bank set?... Max of 11...those guys have paid their dues Those 'mere hnd/ond holders' don't wreck banks; GMs and EDs do. If the bank have invested a lot on them, why can't they reciprocate instead of making wrong judgement, taking uncalculated risk and practicing bad corporate governance and credits origination and administration that put the bank in dire strait. Those are the ones the Board should fire first not the rank and file. Sharia criminal laws are not allowed in the constitution.
This Sharia court trying Babangida marriage is constitutionally recognized.
Sharia civil laws and courts are like customary laws and customary courts in most of Christian south of Nigeria.
Sharia criminal laws include stoning women to death for adultery, cutting off the hands of petty thieves, punishment of death for blasphemy - the type your lot had in mind when you killed two southern women in Kaduna and Abuja recently.
Stop convincing ignoramuses; Nigeria's constiution does not allow sharia criminal laws to be adopted or practiced by any section of the country.
The far north states that adopted sharia criminal laws practically severed themselves from Nigeria but still attach to Nigeria for economic reasons. Your initial statement that I quoted and responded to did not differentiate between civil and sharia courts. Your initial post was: Sharia Court is illegal acording to the Nigerian constitution! Why would a husband die and the wife leaves the burial in such a hurry? She is expected to spend a reasonable time at home to mourn her husband. But here she is at Abuja. According to Idoma tradition, she would be accused of having a hand in her husband's death if she left without a permission from her in-laws hence the possible reason to evict her. That should apply to jobless or self-employed widow. Those traditions were put in place when everybody reside in the village doing farming not for these days of city life. If the wife is working as an employee and had already enjoyed her annual leave, how many days of compassionate leave can she be granted by her employer? Can't she continue the mourning in her place of residence? |

Gov Ambode pls make up your civilised mind are you for the masses or for those that are already rich. If in doubt pls check international best practices around the world as regards the sale of land. There is a big difference between diplomatic passport and diplomatic immunity
Diplomatic passports are classically given to diplomats and consuls when they are posted overseas, and they may be issued to other people within the government as well, depending on the circumstances. Carrying a diplomatic passport does not entitle someone to diplomatic immunity.
A person is only entitled to diplomatic immunity under Vienna Convention if he is a properly accredited consul or diplomatic to that host country. Even then, diplomatic immunity does not prevent arrest in cases of serious crime as defined by the host country or UN. The former IMF Managing Director had both diplomatic passport and diplomatic immunity but he was arrested, charged and detained by the US authorities for sexual crime. |

kossyprincess: Hi I'm a full reader of this forum, I must say you guys are trying very well. the way u answer all question left and right lol. I'm impressed, my questions goes like this I want to apply for UK Tourist visa for 6months.and I have finished filling my form what remains for me is the hotel email address and also where the ask TYPE OF WORK UNDERTAKEN? Im self employed also I have a boutique, but I filled in Boutique -Women clothing in that question line. just asking if is the right answer to it.
also I have booked my hotel using booking.com website and I also input my fiance debit card details and the email him that the booking was successful I choose paying on arrival, the date I choose to be in UK is 11sept. hope the won't cancel my booking becos I have not use them before in anything booking.thanks waiting for reply from this lovely forum lol The first part of your question relates to how to fill the form as a self-employed/business owner. Many previous posts have addressed this issue. Just go through a few previous pages. On hotel issue, booking.com like agoda.com is good and reputable. The only issue here is that you have made the reservation with someone else's bank card even though not yet charged. Is the person traveling with you? If not, did he indicate that he was booking on behalf of someone else as required on booking.com? This is necessary because at the time of check-in, some hotels usually require presentation of the card you used to book if it had not been indicated that the booking was made on behalf rather than the guest himself to prove that you have not booked with a stolen card If he had not indicated that the booking was made 'on behalf' as booking.com requires in such case, there is a risk that the internal review process of booking.com may subsequently throw up query of 'no nexus' between the traveler and cardholder's names though this is remote since you said they already sent a confirmation letter. You can also contact the hotel directly to confirm that they have your reservation |
