ElPadrino33:Where he waka go? Ogudu is a village in his domain |
LARRYDKING:What are you ranting about? There are innocent ladies just as there are corrupt ladies. I said the lecturer is guilty based on the prima-facie evidence but the girl's innocence or guilt is conditional. If she 'gave' the first time and 'received' what she wanted, why should we not assume she went there this time to receive through short cut again? I said assume until those clarifications are made. No need getting emotional about it |
The assassins reportedly asked for Mrs Dokpesi which mean they knew who the car brought to the location. I think the report about the threat to get Chief Dokpesi is just padding to make the story sellable. |
There are two areas that need clarification before one can pass judgement on the girl. The lecturer is guilty based on prima-facie evidence. 1. At the beginning of the clip, the lecturer made reference to their first time together and said it wasn't hard for the lady to give him that time. If the girl had actually 'given' before (for marks I presumed), then she is not innocent. 2. Before the audio cut off, the lecturer was insisting on checking inside her pants to verify that she was actually having her period. Did she allow that? If yes, then she went too far in her 'undercover operation' and may count against her. It means she didn't succumb because of her menses not for any moral crusade. |
In the statement made by the Minister, he said even though 180 is the minimum mark, each university/poly is free to screen its candidates for admission but he was silent on the mode of screening. I am sure there are more qualified candidates (based on the cut off) than the schools can admit. At least the PUME will be more objective than the carte blanche given to these schools by the FG. Was it not the same JAMB that allegedly dashed some candidates 50 marks the other time that we are now relying on? |
mmsen:Secular laws. Secular nation. Really? How secular is Sunday as compulsory non-working day throughout the nation? Afterall Sunday is a working day in Isreal. The problem is that we southerners behave as if the northerners have no rights except the ones we magnanimously concede to them. |
divineappo:I thought most posters here said he was wrong to call himself a ruler. If we take it that he is not a ruler, then he is not responsible for implementing the so called confab report. The convener of the confab himself (GEJ) knew he couldn't implement it alone and he passed it on to the National Assembly. The report is already officially with the legislature, why have they not converted it to laws and let see Buhari veto it? |
Dallaslaurel:Those that have above average cvs, where did they lead us? In a calm sea, every ship have good captains. With oil selling at over $100 for consecutive five years, what have they shown for it apart from profligacy. Oil price fell and within six months, naira was officially devalued twice to 197/$1. We borrowed to pay salary in the last five months of the previous administration. Buhari has challenged the economists, show us what we stand to benefit from devaluation? With the unofficial depreciation of naira, we are already complaining of hardship. Will devaluation significantly increase the quantum of our forex earnings? |
t2luv1:At bolded, I thought the winter is more favourable to increase in oil prices because of extra demand |
Sunnycliff:You didn't critically analyse the scenario. What you referred to was a forecast (not actual) for 2015 wrongly based on the premise of what happened in previous years. By January 2015, nigerian economy was already taking the hit from the fall in oil price and by Iweala's admission, we were already borrowing to pay salaries. |
These banks sef When the economy was booming, they regularly sacked, in recession now, they sack. When will our banks ever stabilize? The curious thing about it is the co-ordinated manner they are doing it. FCMB and Unity Banks sacked on the same Friday using the same approach of not sending mail but sacking by telephone calls. How strong is this Diamond Bank? At the tail-end of GEJ administration last year, they sacked a whooping 1,000. Now, a year later another 400. https://www.nairaland.com/2284909/diamond-bank-sacks-over-1000 |
plaetton:Why are you tenaciously holding on to the wrong end of the rope? The guy and some knowledgeable posters up there have lectured you on process of constitutional amendments. If you wake up today and send a proposed amendment to the constitution to the National Assembly that any poster on nairaland should be paid by government, the house cannot debate or reject it, it will be passed to an adhoc committee on constitution amendments which will filter through all garbage received in the name of proposals and recommend what it consider reasonable proposals to the house as a bill. It is then that the whole legislative process of passing a bill will start including public hearing. The senate will also do its own passing, then at least 24 states house of assembly. That is what Dogara was explaining about the difference between a bill to amend the constitution and ordinary bill. Why do you expect the president to comment or take side on a mere proposal? There are supporters as there are opponents for such proposal you know. If that proposal ever scale through as recommendation from the adhoc committee, gets 2/3rd majority of the senate and the house, 2/3rd majority of 24 out of 36 states in Nigeria to become part of our constitution, then it is the will of vast majority of Nigeria and neither your opinion nor that of the president on it will matter any longer. By the way, do you doubt which way the houses of assembly of 12 states in the SE and SS will vote? |
^^^ if the route had not been marginal to them all along, they will not abandon it for their partner -lutfhanza. BA, the Middle East airlines, Ethiopia are still running in Nigeria. Infact, Turkish airline and South African airlines just increased their frequencies. |
VulgarVulvas:Did you miss where the airline said the route had underachieved for YEARS but only kept alive? |

WiseBully:Story for the gods. Oba of Benin Erediauwa was the only traditional ruler in nigeria history to be summoned to court to give evidence on electoral dispute. In 1991, the Governorship election tribunal summoned him to defend himself against allegation of election rigging in favour of Oyegun against Igbinedion. He trekked from his palace to the tribunal. Nothing negative happened to Justice Lateef Dosunmu that summoned him till today. |
Prince081:Who is the M.oron here? Chibok girls were kidnapped more than TWO years ago (15 April 2014) not a year ago. The reported age of the baby she carries is 4 months not 15 months. As you said, You are finished. |
montelik:Good a thing that he enjoyed pioneer status. I would have been surprised if he didn't. I don't agree that the new deal give him any incentive. The road still belong to the government. It is like govt borrowing from him now and instead of repaying him, they ask him to be using 30% of his future tax to liquidate the loan. |
obi58:Capital oil (Ifeanyi Ubah) and Folawiyo oil should also reconstruct Apapa road as CSR since their fuel tankers 'deliberately' damage the road. |
modath:@ bolded. Dangote annual TURNOVER is not yet up to a trillion naira talkless profit. Providing water, local roads, or school for the environs where his factories are, is understandable CSR but constructing interstates trunk A national road? Mba. The depot owners along Apapa axis are not asked to reconstruct Apapa expressroad, why should Dangote? |
ADEMOSU:Million likes. I don't know why Nigerians always go gaga once indigenous company is mentioned. It is the duty of government to provide infrastructure as incentive for industrial development. Like one poster up there said, let his trucks even uproot the roads, it is government duty to put it back in order. How many roads have government forced the depot owners to reconstruct just because their tankers passed on them? If Dangote had not put up the cement factories in Nigeria, we would have been importing. Will the cement be flown into hinterland from the ports? What government has done now is to collect at least 30% of tax for many years in advance from Dangote on the future profits that he has not yet made. If he had got pioneer status like all these foreign telecoms companies that came to Nigeria, he would have been entitled to tax-free profit for at least 4 years. Nobody shouted about MTN, Etisalat and even Glo when they got that. |
egwekwe:Richard Bradson did not come to operate our airports. He came to run an airline - Virgin Nigeria. |
amazingspiderma:Iweala spearheaded the 2012 campaign because she was Coordinating Minister of Economy not necessarily as Minister of Finance. She had an overall view of the economy unlike the stripped-down ministry of finance that we have now. She was backed up then by Sanusi and to some extent Diezani. This time, Osinbajo is a sort of CME and he has released statement to justify the withdrawal. Kachikwu knows more about the technicalities and it will help the government to just let him be the lead-vocal for now. |
Were they not the one that invited him or did he just surface at the National Assembly on self invitation? The statement by the house on Saturday clearly stated that it was having an emergency meeting on Monday (today) to get briefing from Kachikwu instead of their normal Tuesday - Thursday plenary. |
mikki123:Really? What was the financial, economic, political and social status of Amosun in 1991 when he married? He only qualified as chartered accountant in 1990. The same year he set up his accounting firm. |
Stanbicibtc issues visa naira credit card acceptable worldwide with almost 100% availability. What is more, it still allows dynamic currency conversion (dcc) which has been disabled on all naira debit cards. |
It is not stolen money but the government funds that some ministries refused to remit to TSA accounts in cbn. Why did Thisday serve only a teaser which may make the Minister look bad? This had been club-rumour for the almost two months now. According to grapevine, Ebboh convinced the minister that he had identified the 'unremited funds' and the banks involved, on which basis the AGF gave him an authority letter to get the bank to cooperate with him and remit the funds on which he will earn commission. It turned out that Ebboh had not discovered the fund but wanted to use the authority letter to browbeat the banks to open their books to him which made the bank complained to the AGF and he revoked the authority. It appears this Ebboh just like controversy. The same thing he did with Balyesa government and efcc when the governor revoked his contract to 'recover' Alamesighia loot, he alleged that Lamorde embezzled trillions of naira. |

marcopollo:Baggio equalized first in the closing minutes of the regulation time before the penalty in the extra time. |
The policy of monetisation under obasanjo did not allow sale of houses of principal officers in 2007. It was GEJ regime that did that in 2011. Thisday report quoted by the OP said David Mark and Dimeji Bankole bought the Senate President house and the Speaker house respectively. The two persons were not in those positions under Obj but under Yar'adua/GEJ regimes. If obj had sold those houses to Nnamani and Masari who were there during monetisation, Mark and Bankole wouldn't have got the houses to buy under GEJ. Secondly, the housing allowance does not need presidential approval, the amount is fixed by law. |
