It is an indisputable fact that the just concluded ministerial screening, particularly the screening of Gov. Rotimi Ameachi has put the job/position of the Senate President on the line. Prior to the ministerial screening, almost all PDP Senators were solidly behind the Senate President, which made his planned removal by some powerful APC Chieftains through the CCT difficult.

However, it seems all is not well with the Senate President. Having confirmed Amaechi, which PDP Senators see as a betrayal on the part of Saraki, the Senate President will henceforth be left to his fate. It is so glaring that Saraki has fallen for the trap set by some APC bigwigs.

It will be recalled that barely 24hrs after the final screening of Ministerial nominees, the Apeal Court ruled that the CCT has the right to try Saraki. It is obvious that the case was earlier adjourned just to buy time, pending when the ministerial screening is concluded. Now, the screening is over and the pit of hell has been opened for Saraki.

It is therefore glaring that Saraki miscalculated politically. Infact he (Saraki) goofed big time. If Saraki had not disappointed the PDP Senators, there is no way his impeachment would scale through in the Senate, since APC doesn't have the number. But Saraki did not know that he was dining with the devils. Tinubu and co have no forgiving spirit and they will fight Saraki to finish. Now, Saraki is neither here nor there, having disappointed the PDP the second time, it is time to let him carry his cross.

Finally, I thought Saraki was smart till he committed this unpardonable blunder. According to Robert Green in 48 Laws of Power (Law 15) " Crush your enemies totally, both in body and soul" - When you pity or hope for reconciliation, it will make you hesitate. Therefore, Saraki shouldn't have fought half way. Let him face the music. He goofed big time!

So far, he has been good. I pity him though because neither the PDP nor APC is in full support of him right now because of Amaechi's confirmation. Should impeachment proceeding be moved against him any moment from now, PDP Senators will abandon him and he will be at the mercy of Tinubu's loyalists in the red Chamber.

Elections petition tribunals sitting in Abuja have nullified the election of the Speaker, Owaji Ibani from Andoni constituency and 20 lawmakers in Rivers state house of assembly. The lawmakers were elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party on April 11 2015 in an election marred by vote rigging and violence.

The judgements given today by the relevant tribunals in Abuja is bound to compound the case of the governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, who was sacked last week by a tribunal under the same circumstances. There are 32 state lawmakers in Rivers state with the election of 21 members nullified the state assembly will no longer form a quorum as  to continue to function.

The bolded is the more reason their elections were nullified. It was premeditated in order to stop the PDP dominated House of Assembly from functioning during the guber rerun. APC has finally killed the electoral reforms instituted by Jonathan. We are back in Maurice Iwu days.

Same here in Abuja but I love it. Very good! All those who have been stealing money and flaunting it anyhow have now calm down. During the GEJ days all you needed to do was to visit shopping malls, markets, boutiques, entertainment centres, night clubs, etc and you'd weep at how people spend money. This goes a long way to show that nigerians have be surviving on stolen funds. Since the advent of Baba, anti corruption fight and TSA currently in place everything is grounded, people who spend money now are people who actually work for their money not politicians and civil servants who were looting the excess money in government.

So since the money is longer stolen, where is it? Has any contract been awarded? Has salaries of workers improved? Looted funds are recovered everyday yet people are crying of hunger and the government is also saying there is no money. My dear, circulation of money in the economy boosts the real sector and by extension increases productivity and income. There is no justification for this. If funds are no longer stolen, then let there be income redistribution, so that the condition of the poor will improve. However, both the rich and the poor are crying. It defiles the rules of economics, meaning certain cabal or people are still diverting the funds to the detriment of the poor.

APC is a big scam. People of Rivers State have rejected their own son , Rotimi Amaechi over corrupt practices and have equally called on EFCC to probe him, yet Buhari and his co-travellers are not saying anything about it. It is obvious Amaechi used Rivers' money to campaign for Buhari and other APC Candidates in the last elections, hence the desperation to reward him with Ministerial appointment. But for the fact that Akpabio has been relatively active in the Senate, APC is now doing everything possible to silence him by chasing him about with EFCC. This is pure selective justice. We are watching. For those who think it is not possible to remove APC from power come 2019, should equally remember how powerful PDP seemed some years back. I am not a member of any political party, but we should not forget history in a hurry. Time will tell.

I didn't watch today's screening. Abeg, who is likely going to head Finance Ministry?

I believe Buhari is sensitive enough to know the kind of people he wish to work with and that is what we call loyalty. This can't be the reason. There are so many nominees that are from the same Zone with their Governor. For instance, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu is from the same Local Government with the Governor of Ebonyi State. I think there are vested interests at play.

Madam Ngozi did very well during OBJ''s regime. Remember our debt pardon and NEEDS which she and Soludo championed. It was Jonathan's regime that rubbished Madam Ngozi because the entire system was messed up. Remember, she championed YOUWIN, which remains the best youth empowerment programme in the history of Nigeria.

Former President of Nigeria, President Olusegun Obasanjo remains a Nigerian President that assembled best technocrats of Nigeria origin as his cabinet members to help him manage the nation's economy. The economic team of President Olusegun Obasanjo was made up of technocrats who were drawn from the academia and other international organizations with intimidating credentias. Unarguably, they introduced different people oriented programmes. If there is one thing to remember President Olusegun Obasanjo for, I think it should be in that regard.
The economic team of President Obasanjo was made up of:

2. Mr. Shamsudeen Usman
