Sunshyne200: Hahahahaha. Yeah. But they all in this nation has failed. Those that have kingdoms & emirs, have made those places decay and rot in development. They develop internal aesthetics of their abodes and do nothing about the living standards of their subjects.
200m of sanusis library with 242,000 books could become a public property and enlighten more people than his preaching ever did. I am a QS and a 200m naira can build a standard library with assessories.
I saw a tour of Sanusi’s library on YouTube... It is probably the largest personal collection in Africa. >
RealtorX: We take a lot of risks in Nigeria. Human activities along pipelines and powerlines are meant to be kept at a safe recommended distance. Trust me people of this country we build in such space. My prayers are with the victims!
But if the government tries to demolish houses or clear activities off the right-of-way of pipelines, do-gooders will be protesting...
Prayers for any victims, but we are a nation of ANYHOWNESS! >
So because Northerners are poor, it’s okay to loot the commonwealth? Even if 87% of Bayelsans (or any other Nigerians) are rich, it would still be WRONG! >
MRcocaFanta: Kenya, Nigeria and south Africa likes sex too much.
When the whites were busy developing and breaking grounds in science and technology. Our forefathers were concern with marrying plenty wives and having plenty children.
Do you know how many scientific/medical breakthroughs motivated by sex? Or how many developments that was driven by some dude looking to impress women? >
Uniquekriss: If u see what most of our teenagers do ehhhn, u would know that most of them have gone so wayward. Read d story properly, they've been doing it noiselessly until d parents of d girl found out so it's no rape inasmuch as she's underaged I think she's sexually mature.
burner44: Did you know 11 years old is the Age of consent in Nigeria
Vortex369: If the girl was not forced, it is not rape.
The so called Age of Consent is not sacrosanct as some of these so called underage girls are wiser than Solomon.
mordred44: Girls at dia age enjoy it widout complain....Shameless idiot
Sean4ko: nor surprised . akwa ibom ibom girls start fucking from 10 years old
Donaldoni: Except she was raped, the age of consent in Nigeria is 11.
Hope you lot are not PAEDOPHILES... Because you are straight-up sounding like it.
A minor cannot grant legal consent and the age of majority in Nigeria is 18... That is why you cannot enter into or enforce a contract in Nigeria with anyone under 18. >
Lostz: every new Governor in Nigeria get his own new cars. that is the way it is.
I know the southwest propaganda media will now focus on everything happening in bayelsa since their mole in bayelsa was removed
Just like “every” Governor or political officeholder steals, so I guess we should just accept it as “the way it is”?
As poor as most Bayelsans are, amidst all of the oil money flowing, YOU should be mad at these looters... Instead, these thieves have so brainwashed you folks, you are worshipping and defending their profligacy. SMH >
Area4Area: As far as Nigeria and other countries heavily dependent on oil is concerned, when price of oil goes up, GDP growth and size goes up, price comes down and it drags others down too
No, it does not change REAL GDP.
If you are producing 1 barrel of oil, it will still be 1 barrel of oil regardless of price... The only way it COULD is if your goods are so price elastic that you produce more or less depending on price. >
. NONSENSE! LET HIM NOT LET THE DOOR HIT HIM WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT HIM ON HIS WAY OUT!!
"White Man" this, "White Woman" that.... Speaking of BEGGING, it seems too many Nigerians (such as this Nigerian Blogger) are BEGGING white folks for validation.
My sole interest is that we should resolve Nigerian problems for NIGERIANS... Not remotely interested in some Whitey's (whose forefathers RAPED AND PILLAGED our land and people) "touristing"! SMH >
Officialgarri: The dude should hire a good lawyer. I don't think there's any law in Nigeria that prohibits sexual content over the Internet.
He has never touched the boy, neither did he make any direct contact with the little boy.
If you don't want people to voice their opinions regarding anything, then never bring it to the social media. There's nothing like "mind your business" as far as social media is concerned. The Internet is not a private place.
Abegi quit defending such a PAEDOPHILIC comment... (and shocking how many "likes" it got - more evidence of social immorality in Nigeria).
He has not been charged with anything... But there's nothing wrong with law enforcement checking out his intentions.
In many CIVILIZED nations... The police routinely flag these sorts of SM posts and monitor the user. >
Shibaraba: One of them scratch me yesterday but I won't be annoyed. If you're removing a source of income create an alternative .These people have families.
Exactly! We should also do the same for Yahoo boys...smh
Only in a Zoo like Nigeria is LAWLESSNESS applauded... Then same folks are confused why we are not doing better.
Okada and Keke are banned from 16 out of 57 LCDAs... And they are NOT banned in the areas that people need it most.
coolcharm: Well... When you make hasty policies that affect the masses in without factoring a transition period and providing better alternatives and palliative measures... You really shouldn't expect compliance.
If light rails were present in Lagos, who would even want to risk his/her life flying okada or keke?
The government should stop being stupid and irresponsible.
Fix transportation, and you wouldn't even have to ban any okada or keke because they will fizzle out when there's no demand.
Iyiataata92: Fashola tried this throughout his 8 year tenure as governor but failed. Anybody that told Sanwo Olu that he could chase this people out, less than one year into his tenure, is really a bad script writer.
He got his priorities wrong
They are only setting themselves up, because this ban will most probably NOT be reversed... Ar best, I can see it being relaxed for the bike-hailing companies (and maybe Keke), but these Mali, Niger, Chad and Far North are DONE! >
The concept underlying the NDDC (which is NOT a South-South Dev Commission, because it includes South-East states like Abia and Imo, as well as a South-West state like Ondo) is that the exploitation of oil has myriad ADVERSE effects (including, without limitation, expropriation of land, spillage and other environmental degradation) that effectively results in the physical and/or economic taking of land and livelihoods (for a population whose principal and primary economic preoccupation is agriculture). Accordingly, the NDDC (which has been POORLY administered btw) is compensatory. There is no such similar circumstances here in the South-West to justify a similar commission.
Our politicians are simply obsessed with "Chop-I-Chop"! >
GOOD START, but... Construction is shoddy and external paint job (colors) horrible.
If someone did that kind of kind of shoddy job at Govt House, he would be fired and blacklisted.
Meanwhile, are Nigerians now such bad people that bars are needed on classroom windows? If there ever is a fire (or any other similar emergency situation), those bars will trap the kids inside. >
nuele: You guys are being misled, Nigeria cost of production per goods is very high, poor electricity and unfavorable business climate... Tell me how it's nominal GDP will be high, more still, the rate of import is astronomical....
Where the hell are you guys getting the big economy from, is it MTN or Glo, communication industry that is even eating from the per capital income.
Ever heard of media manipulation by government?
The entry of conspiracy theorists...
There are DIFFERENT numbers for nominal GDP and for real GDP, but this is about REAL GDP figures... GDP is the total value of all goods and services, and thus one person's "costs" is another person's "income"!
Nigerian GDP is not calculated any differently... In fact, given Nigeria's LARGE informal sector, it is almost certain that our GDP is being UNDER-counted. >
Area4Area: That is the crux of the matter and this is why a plus or minus in that sector matters a lot because it determines FG's expenditure and the average growth of the GDP
It "determines" FG's expenditure to a large extent (not 100%), but NOT the GDP... In fact, in some quarters, the oil sector has even declined while the overall GDP grew. >
