The simple point of my message is that you should remove the log in your eyes before trying to remove the speck from the eyes of others. So you don’t think there’s any difference between PRIVATE citizens and the PRESIDENT?! If PRIVATE individuals are criminals and drug-dealers, it’s okay for the PRESIDENT to be one as well (allegedly)?! > |

BreconHills: The same law you quote also allows INEC to interprete and apply those laws as it sees fit. And until someone shows me that this electronic transmission ( which is impossible by the way- display of polling Centre pdf is what is possible) is mandated in the Electoral Act and does not come under INECs discretion then we should all hold our peace until the court rules. No, it doesn’t… What it does is empower INEC to make rules (administrative laws) to implement the law. Once those rules are enacted, they become administrative law… That’s why even if most of INEC’s guidelines are NOT in the EA, if violated it disqualifies a candidate or party. > |

Baatunde: We keep hearing so much about Tinubu the drug baron, the kingpin, I guess given the fact that most drug peddler home and abroad, of NIgerian origin happens to come from the south east, surely some of them, must have at one time or the other worked for Tinubu and could have given a clearer insight into his drug peddling 'kingdom' if indeed there was one
Who doesn't know that the headquarter of illicit drug market in Nigeria is at across the bridge south of NIgeria,,,,,,,,,,yes every part of the country have their own black sheep but the fact and statistics showed that the world renowned ones are mostly from........south east, but it appears that embittered people will continue to cry wolf. Same way theyb want to give the impression that NIgeria is insecure as a result of Fulani herdsmen banditry while conveniently ignoring all the senseless killings going on in the east...... hypocritical lots

Also, APC’s lawyer, Lateef Fagbemi, a SAN, asked Mr Nwakaeti if he was aware that a “formal clearance report” was issued by a legal attaché of the US embassy, absolving Mr Tinubu of any wrongdoing concerning the alleged crime.
In his response, Mr Nwakaeti said he was not aware of any clearance report in favour of Mr Tinubu.

Well....it looks to me like they just wanna proceed with the case for the sake of formality and nothing else
Course go show am the clearance report...he'll be aware then sreamsense: LP lawyer has already failed logically even if i am not the judge. Admittance is not the problem, what comes out of it is the main thing. After admittance for last week PDP case, waiting come out of it? Nothing! LP lawyer witness has failed 1st logic; good work by Lateef Fagbemi for asking him if he was aware of US clearance of Tinubu.
Denying it has rubished the case. He should have said yes, even if LP party will go further to fault that clearance on technical ground. LP lawyer that wants to use another style to represent similar case that was ruled out last week suppose to use his common sense; the case still falls under internal affair of APC, it will be ruled as insorbodination/busy body. These lawyers self, atimes; they rubbish case for you.
If this thread narrates as it happened at court today, Obi attitude is if I don't get it, then let me waste/spoil it for others; they shouldn't get it either. Obi has no case from his lawyer's response during cross examination, Fagbemi has knocked him down but he never realized it yet. He is still waiting to fault the clearance, but that chance is very slim since USA has cleared him. It is better for obi to carry mat to court, find a place to lay down, relax and sleep as he wants because with this, no serious case yet. It woundn't be good for obi to loose money, election, time and his rest What is this Lawyer Fagbemi going on about? BreconHills: The only election in Nigeria's history without over voting. Its nobody's fault that some people are reading instant display of results into the Electoral Act when there is nothing like that. People want to convert text files into excel using b.v.a.s. Impossible.
2023 is the new benchmark for elections in Nigeria. BreconHills: It is NOT mandated. A promise by an INEC chairman does not constitute law. A law needs to be assented to after passing both houses AND gazetted.
Please show me where in the Electoral Act it is mandated. You mean “some people” like INEC - over and over and over again… Btw, don’t think you quite understand how the law works, because this is Administrative Law 101! The Electoral Act provisions mandating INEC to provide its own rules and guidelines governing the elections and the collation of results grants INEC the power to create administrative laws through such Rules and Guidelines (analogous to Agency Rules and Regulations in the US). INEC’s Rules and Guidelines governing the elections are just as LEGALLY BINDING as any other laws enacted by the NASS (because the NASS specifically DELEGATED such authority to INEC, which the NASS is constitutionally authorized to do), and also just as LEGALLY BINDING on INEC as it was on the political parties. In other words, just as the parties cannot disobey INEC’s rules and guidelines by arguing they were not specifically provided in the Electoral Act, so also INEC cannot avoid following its own rules and guidelines by arguing they were not in the Electoral Act. > |

kokorokoman: in as much as you try to use diplomacy or political correctiveness to twist the matter, the truth is i dont see anything wrong in attracting projects and developments to your immediate community if it's not an impediment to the growth of others. It is, by definition, “an impediment to the growth of others” (and of Nigeria) if those projects would be better elsewhere… The best way that any Nigerian president can develop his community is by developing Nigeria - a rising tide lifts ALL boats! > |

kekakuz: My first daughter happens to live with her mum and i only get to see her Like once a week or less.
I have noticed that when ever she talks to me on phone, she talks like an adult. She says things only an experienced person would say.for example, she called me to buy 3 cakes for her birthday and I questioned why.
She said because the last time I bought her cake was for her 1st birthday and I have to buy for all the years I did not buy.recently, I asked her who is God and she said God is a spirit that lives in heaven and is on the water and he created everything from the the water.
Even though this sounds incoherent and funny, I don't expect such answer from a 4 years old girl.
Today, I called her to myself and ask her what of her mum and she answered "which one" I was shocked .
I proceeded to ask her how many mum does she have and she said "my mum dies long time ago and this one is her second mum" I was shocked to the bone.
So I separated her from her siblings and asked deeper questions even tho I didn't want her to feel scared. She also told me she had 2 othere siblings and called their names. Told me where she lived before and this is where I stopped.
I have always wanted to belive In Reincarnation and this is proof before my very eyes .
Guys what do you think and how do I handle this Tales by the Moonlight…. > |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I Made A Huge Mistake That Almost Cost Me My Job. by 9jaRealist: 2:26pm On May 30, 2023 |
Rubyjade: I made a huge mistake that almost cost me my job. This is when I didn't understand the principles of Effective Communication.
Want to learn from my mistakes? Keep reading.
Five years ago, while working remotely at Andela, I learned a valuable lesson about the power of communication.
Over-communication is key for success.
I received a Slack message from a product manager on a Friday, asking me to check out a bug reported by an important customer.
Naively assuming I would fix it on Monday, I went off to enjoy my weekend, unaware of the consequences that awaited me.
When I returned on Monday, the product manager singled me out during the morning call. He accused me of not caring about customers, of ignoring him on Slack, and failing to provide feedback.
The weight of my mistake hit me hard, and I realised that a simple act of over communication could have saved me from this ordeal.
From that point on, over communication became one of my personal values. Here's how I put it into practice:
1️⃣ Double ask every doubt: Whenever I receive a task or instruction, I ask for clarification on the deadline, the goal, and the scope.
I don't assume anything. I listen attentively, confirm my understanding, and express gratitude for the explanation.
Being a great communicator requires active listening and comprehension.
2️⃣ Provide regular updates: Even when not required, I make it a habit to give regular updates on my progress.
Whether it's a freelance project or working with a team, people appreciate being in the loop. I send emails, share progress reports, and ensure transparency.
This level of accountability and responsiveness appreciated in the workplace.
3️⃣ Show gratitude and kindness: A culture of gratitude and kindness goes a long way in building positive relationships.
I make it a point to express gratitude to my colleagues, especially when they go above and beyond to support me.
A simple "thank you" in a daily call, or a shoutout on Slack, acknowledging and appreciating others can foster a supportive work environment.
By doing these, I have seen the positive impact they have on my work relationships and overall success.
People notice when you go the extra mile to communicate, and it helps build trust and collaboration. You sound like one of those annoying subordinates who flood my inbox with unnecessary emails…> |

This massive show of love and support from Niger Delta leaders like Tompolo, Asari Dokubo, Wike, Jonathan etc goes to show that the South South is fully in support of the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Administration. I’m glad the Senate president is going to the region.
Kudos to Tompolo and other Niger Delta leaders for putting the unity and progress of the country ahead of emotional, petty, bigoted and selfish ethno- religious considerations. Their show of southern support and solidarity will never be forgotten. Only in Nigeria is a murderous extortionist literally with blood on his hands so revered… Why stop there?
