panpan: These types of threads should not be on the front page. We should not celebrate the killing of harmless wildlife creatures. I don’t see any rational person “celebrating” on this thread. But it is important to highlight this kind of news to remind us how far this country has to go. |

Noise makers! VERY RICH “noisemakers” Is the validation of the MILLIONS of people who love and pay (directly or indirectly) for their music really any less valid than the validation of the small group of people who cast Grammy votes? Meanwhile, Fela was never nominated. Another noisemaker perhaps? |

greaterlove001: I've never seen a politician, musician or footballer criticized for flying private jet. But if na Pastor... Politicians get criticized all the time - often for even less than flying private jets! And the reason is that they - just like these Prosperity Pastors - often literally take money off the tables of the poorest in society! |

TheAngry1: There are actually more countries on the continent with worst passport values than the ones you listed there. This post is sadly part of the ongoing stupid self-denigration that has characterised most Nigerians. I have traveled the length and breadth of Africa, and I can tell you with confidence that very few countries on the continent can compare with Nigeria on any/every index of measurement. We a myriad of problems, but believe me, we are not what people tell you we are. Travel and see. Well said. It is said that those who call their mothers “prostitute” should not be surprised when others treat them as bastards. That’s Nigerians for you. |

This why Nigerian law should require mandatory autopsies.
Without privity to the kid’s medical record, I do not think the caning killed him (even though I still want the woman to be punished for child abuse/torture). It is more likely that something that the kid ingested was the real culprit. |

figure007: He is probably in jail cos of the lady. Not everyone in jail is actually a bad person. Some are there cos of little mistake or been roped along as innocent but got convicted. Alot are behind bars for silly offences Whether you are a so-called “bad person” or a “good person” is IRRELEVANT in the US criminal justice system (except for perhaps parole and the length of your sentence), it is solely concerned with whether or not you committed a crime (as per the criminal statute). |

If any lady should try this, her family will disown her and she will be stigmatised. Will take such “stupidity” anyday. I believe in rehabilitation and that everyone deserves love, but this should never be an acceptable aspiration for anyone or parent. |

KingMicky3286: Last year a Nigerian guy was arrested in Cambodia, upon hearing the news from his girlfriend, she got proposed by another guy and they got married.
It was the same girl that the guy was sending money for and have also concluded plans to marry on the December of the said year 2017.
The guy was heartbroken. Serves the slowpoke right (presuming he is convicted) for apparently having to engage in criminality to keep a female. Hopefully, he’ll find a big and buffed boyfriend in prison. SMH |

BOBORH: The Culture is in the US differs from ours in Africa and besides Black Americans second home is prison over there!! Marrying a hommie in the Prison is no big deal since even those living outside are on borrowed time, sooner or later some will join others inside!! You can say that again. With all due respect to My African-American brothers, far too many of them view a stint in prison as bordering on the normal (if not entirely normal), but then again it should also be acknowledged that the US justice system is institutionally racist and is often stacked against them. |

pheonixdld2: In the US they allow conjugal visit. Only 4 states in the US allow conjugal visits (California, Connecticut, New York and Washington State). Furthermore, such visits are only allowed in lesser-risk prisons and federal prisons do NOT permit conjugal visits. Doubtful a dude in shackles would be in a conjugal prison. |
