yinkkus:This is why they're in court right and no longer using social media justice! Let both lawyers do their job and let the court decide based on evidence provided. A guilty man can walk free with the help of a genius lawyer and an innocent man can rot in jail due to an incompetent lawyer....May God help us all! |
jaxxy:Here's your rebuttal: Freedom of expression is not freedom from consequences. The soverignity of Nigeria dictates nobody can hold the country ransom, the law of the land is the Constitution and if it does not recognize secession then what are we talking about here? Neither the UN, the USA or World Bank can infringe on this soverignity. The right to secede might be recognized by the UN but does it lay out the process for actually implenting it? It's high time we stop looking at these bodies for their mere words and look at their actions instead. before Kanu, there have been many letters and requests detailing the plans to secede, formal requests to secede and so on but all were denied and the UN kept quiet like imbeciles. I like to believe you're a well educated and wise human being, tell me does their actions match their words? Why do you think this is? Not one single sanction, no trials, no comments just plain silence....FUNNY! |
jaxxy:That's the problem, the Nigerian Constitution does not make provisions for secession in fact it treats all separatists as treason, this is why they can arrest anyone pushing such narratives so in short there's nothing like legal secession as far as the Nigerian constitution is concerned, only available option is a National Referendum which majority of those in politics will never allow. |
The difference between Russia and USA is simple, Russia displays its might so that the whole world can see but the USA will put on a friendly smile while destroying you from within. It's one thing to have weapons it's another to have spies and double agents from every allied country doing your work for you. When it comes to warfare, allies and strategic location are crucial, while Russia has been busy it has forgotten that the NATO allies are now stronger and common Israel is enough to wipe out majority of Russia's allies apart from China. Common Japan and South Korea is enough to hit Russia from the east and Britain , France and Spain are enough to hit them from the West, assuming China decides to stay neutral. When it comes to weapons, gone are the days of bigger is better, biological warfare is the game now and economic paralysis. Russia is not stupid to fire rockets or start a full scale war they know they can't win, their best bet is to continue gulf war tactics and stealth mode. Those of you boasting on here have no idea what you're talking about! |
jaxxy:Yes it is, it is called treason and punishable in certain democratic countries by death! Secession in itself is not as dangerous, it is the acts that follows when the request for secession is denied such as banning movemnet, burning properties, killing uniform men etc. This is why the international community will never support the likes of Kanu, you don't argue for peaceful secession while displaying hostile tactics. |
Stopping sale to BDC when the little amount you sell to them is nowhere close to enough is like shooting yourself in the foot. Parallel market wouldn't exist if CBN just admits its failures and mark the Naira at its real value which is 500 Naira to 1 Dollar, this is the true state of the economy, why pretend? Our economy depends on foreign everything, if people cannot buy and sell what do you think will happen to the Naira? You think say na me you dey do? Werey dey disguise ![]() |
In other words, BUSINESS AS USUAL. A week does not go by in Nigeria where someone is not slain for employing the wrong person, trusting the wrong person, having relationship with the wrong person and overall living in the wrong country. Words no longer have meaning, how many RIP you wan type, how many omashey ooo? Silly Nairalanders will soon start attacking one another based on tribe, religiona and sentiments not knowing that this koboko no dey discriminate, it will flog everyone one by one as bubu and his goons turn this country into Hell's Kitchen......Jesu gba wa o! |
Bello1004:If your prick can be aroused by a 14 year old or any minor then it is better you cut it off, rather than have it embarrass you ![]() |
esthel:I don't see it that way, it looks more like the lawyer is trying to establish the possibility that the girl was harrassed/molested by someone else. When more suspects become known then alternative paths can be created. Princess's credibility is also on the line, how does a child under your watch get repeatedly harrassed/molested? She was oblivious until the girl informed her, what sort of shitty parenting is that? |
n the issue of macroeconomic stability, the minister said, “Right now, the economy is weak, growth is fragile, but we are hoping growth will improve as we begin to look at the policies that we have on ground and do policy reforms to attract both local and foreign investments.”When you strangle people and frustrate every form of income generation, this is what you get! Eleribu government full of greedy, wicked sons of bi*ches with no moral compass. I hate to say it but what Nigeria needs is Abacha 2.0, Nigeria does not need any useless democracy, it's just a license to loot more aggressively. Let's compare the economy under Abacha to right now under Buhari and if we didn't know better, one might think Abacha's regime was the democratic one and Buhari's regime was carved out of North Korea. |
Xpol:Same path, same advice, until he specializes in a specific area, he'll just be looked at as another generic graduate. In 9ja, I.T can be very wide and open to interpretation, it could be someone working at a Cafe or an engineer at MTN. Information Technology can be split into so many levels, security architect, systems admin, cloud, I.T auditor, QA and so on, let him start thinking about specialization and gaining real practical experience rather than just focuising on theories. |
shegzhkn:Yes my first degree was in computer science and maths at Olabisi Onabanjo University back in 2007/2008. I also have 2 friends who are lecturers now at Unilag and they share the same sentiments, the cirriculum does not measure up to 21st century I.T. realities. |
Computer science as it is being taught in most Nigerian universities is dead and buried, majority of fresh graduates from Nigerian universities cannot name all the components in a typical computer system by looking at it, majority cannot debug systems errors using log files and audit commands. Majority cannot operate unix or linux based systems. Don't even get me started with programming where majority cannot write decent C++ codes to save their lives not to talk of programming in Java or Phyton. The beauty of computer science is that it is so diverse, as long as you're still calling yourself a computer scientist, you're still a novice in this field. Ogbeni what do you specialize in? Are you a systems admin, full stack developer, front end developer, network admin, linux engineer, architect, security admin or database admin? These are just tips of icebergs, there are well over 20 more specialization that I did not include, so back to the question? Is computer science profitable? YES AND NO! YES, if you decide to master your domain, if you decide to specialize in a segment and not be a jack of all trade. Yes if you learn by doing ratehr than just relying on some outdated textbook and lectures. NO, if you think a B.sc in computer science means shin shin. No, if you have nothing to offer but a generic degree and no certifications. Experience beats almost any degree but you do not gain experience by bringing the same things thousands of graduates bring to the table, you've got to reinvent yourself and stay ahead of the curve! Simply put, computer science is like a child crawling, for the child to walk, he or she must master a technique or two, if you're still in chool, now is the best time to get some practical experience, look for opportunities to learn for free, buy scrap computers, disect and put back together, if you want to be a programmer, write at least 5-6 programs per month, never stop improving. If your focus is on networking better get some certifications and be ready to pass exams like CCNA, Network+ and a bunch of Microsoft certifications. May the God of Babbage & Lovelace be with you! |
Women wey still dey struggle for equality and finding good husband now they have to compete with transwomen as well.....This life no balance at all, sorry ladies the future does not look female at all ![]() |
Lapinski:What you're saying is off the mark and has nothing to do with this exact issue! The ones that made billions will never commit suicide or even worry about things like this, they spend millions on girlfriends and luxury so no big deal. The ones that are directly affected here are the widows, the vets, the white migrant who works jobs like bricklayer, farming etc, those people are struggling to get by and should not have to suffer because you feel someone with the same skin color or ethnicity did something bad to your people! It's like saying the sins and attrocities of boko haram should be put on all Nigerians because we share the same skin color and boundary. Don't be surprised that majority of us here on Nairaland live way better than some of these white folks especially the uneducated ones. The effects of yahoo boys/girls will have lasting impact on us all whether we like it or not, as long as government refuses to fix this country, acts like this will only encourage the international community to scrutinize us more, you might not feel it but your children or their children might be on the receiving end of this negativity, imagine country no good and even Ghana dey refuse your children entry, wetin dem go do? Let's not justify criminality with excuses. |
Number 5 is actually dubious. A journalist does not know the difference between motto and national rhetoric. In God we trust is the American motto but linguistical traditions that has existed since 1800s includes, God's own country, home of the brave, land of the free, Epluribus Unum(Out of many, one), God bless America, etc. Majority of Americans would say God bless America before they ever remember "In God we trust". |
Okay what she did was wicked but what is the solution? You take the child away from her, jail her and the kid ends up with what? The kids wey dey government's hands dem don feed them finish? Even NGOs dey lament for this bubu hell fire we call Nigeria. I fear cases like this we only hear the beginning, we never check up on the aftermath, woman sef might be happy if the child is taken away, the government is giving her one less mouth to feed. This is what Bubu's change agenda has caused.....E ti ri nkan nkan. |
Give that man a cold beer and release him right this minute.....He's doing the lord's work! |
BigFabian:Sorry but you jumped the gun, go back and read my comment, surely you've quoted the wrong guy. Learn Java from you? Stop it ![]() |

Plut01:50 houses on about 54 plots is well ventilated, even in the USA most houses are built on half plots and they still have yards and spacing. Most houses in mainland lagos especially Surulere were built on half plots so by that calculation plenty space still dey o ![]() |
Plut01:8.994 acres (about 53 plots) plenty of space to build another 30 houses ![]() |
At 19, you want to gbadun, go clubbing, handg with the crowd etc, your dad was probably a guy man back in his days so he knows all your little tactics, he tries to limit your exposure to these things but is very quick to support anything academic,, that's not stingyness that's being a responsible parent. Look at you, they haven't given you excess and you're already on a destructive path of sport betting, imagine your papa now gave you some heavy change to jaiye, wetin go happen? YOU GO PAINT TOWN RED & DEY CHANGE GIRLS LIKE YOU DEY CHANGE BOXERS . Ogbeni focus on your education and stop disturbing us online, you're obviously a child that does not know the true realities of life, your papa get money, no be your money, focus so that one day you too can make your own money! |
NewDelhi:There's no obligation anywhere to send your kids to private universities, it is a privilege these kids of nowadays abuse, we have people going to Unilag, UI, OAU etc and they still managed to graduate and have successful careers, no father owes his child a private university education certainly not 1 million per whatever! |
SachaBastien:You said it yourself Sani Abacha, what Constitution do you expect a military leader to follow? Military Constitution does not respect traditions and norms. I'm not saying it can't happen but the backlash and the judiciary makes it virutally impossible for larger kings like the Ooni compared to lesser ones like Elegushi. |
SachaBastien:Comparing Apples and Oranges, Queen of England, a whole nation to Oba of Elegushi not even Oba of Lagos, Elegushi lasan lasan. If we had King of Nigeria or Queen of Nigeria now your point might make more sense. The closest thing we have to Queen of England in Nigeria is the Oni of Ife(Head of yorubaland) or Sultan of Sokoto(Head of Muslims in Nigeria), their pull or influence far outweighs any other monarch in Nigeria. |
FreeStuffsNG:Like I said before, you're not making much sense and not looking at things from the Nigerian work climate. You keep quoting and using people that have nothing to do with the realities in Nigeria and I find it ridiculous! Let me even entertain your quack theory, what was Andrew Bailey's first job? RESEARCHER! Can you see the correlation? How does pharmacy relate to banking? Furthermore, you trying to spin this to be about women is repulsive and outright silly! This has nothing to do with gender and eveything to do with how backwards this country operates. So many dreams have been crushed because the people that deserved to be top in their fields are replaced by people with connection. People with high dreams continue to waste years trying to pass JAMB, to study courses way beyond their capacity only to end up stuck at entry level or unemployment for years upon years. If you truly believe this is a gender issue then you're simply out of your damn mind! |
quentin06:LMAO, you've had 60 years to free yourself from voluntary slavery, the UK is not responsible for y'all poor taste in leaders, it is not responsible for your culture of zero maintenance, it is not responsible for your greed, lack of value for human life and outright wickedness and I'm not just talking about the government! Indomie generation? Does it not include you? I don't believe you're up to 40 years old based on your history of aggresssion and senseless posting on Nairaland so kettle calling pot black? ![]() |
FreeStuffsNG:This is the problem with most of you on this forum, you operate on theories and not enough real life experience, how many of those who studied in Unilag/UI/OAU etc are languishing in unemployment/underemployment or have gone into business? In a sane world, how does a pharmacist end up in leadership position at a big bank? We are talking about 9ja you're here quoting a book written by someone that does not know the dynamics of the Nigerian workforce. Why would a pharmacist work at a bank? Who hired her? Did they overlook her first degree? What was the hiring criteria? Once you understand the answers to these questions, you would know why I said even if you studied poopoology it does not matter in 9ja, your second degree can open doors your first degree could not. Your connections can open doors even if those doors were sealed with bulletproof titanium steel. Furthermore the shinning of shoes comment reflects what happens to most Nigerian graduates by tsatistics, 20% or less get a good paying job, 50% end up getting a mediocre or average paying job after 2-3 years and the remaining are forced to abandon their fields or remain jobless. This is reality not the theoretical principles some books try to deceive us with. If I had known these earlier I wouldn't have bothered with Computer science as my first degree, I would have taken the easier route and studied mass communication or some anywhere belle face degree because it truly didn't matter, nowadays employers look at my higher degrees and completely ignore the bachelors. |
Olusanya graduated from the University of Ibadan (UI) with a Bachelors degree in Pharmacy and obtained a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) (majoring in Finance and Accounting) from the University of Liverpool.Just get that first degree in anything even poopoology, as long as you are determined to study further you can achieve any position in Nigeria, stop suffering yourselves with the trials and tribulations of ordinary bachelors degree, focus on the bigger price. 20 years of experience and one or two advanced degrees and look at her now, her fellow pharmacists can't even shine her shoes....Bravo woman, bravo! |
Billyonaire666:Don't be unfrotunate in life, you don't get to dictate to people how they should express themselves when it comes to grief! |
tikco:There are people and then there are people you know have the resources and the attitude to actually keep their words. Not every human has integrity you know ![]() |
