Mindfulness:I repeat again, you are entitled to your opinion. No arguments here buddy ![]() |
Mindfulness:You're the one sounding silly, just like hundreds of years ago some old men agreed on democracy in the USA and it is still accepted today. Stop making argument where there is none, unless you have facts that proves me wrong, I'll maintain my stance! My friend you don't have to agree with me, it's a free world okay! |
Mindfulness:Like I said you are the one trying to counter my statement so the burden is on you to provide evidence. My evidence is that the Saudi people unlike other Middle Eastern countries are yet to revolt against their government which means the government is obviously doing something right. Saudi operates on sharia law and if majority of the people never agreed to abide by such laws it wouldn't exists, I don't know what you don't understand about that! |
Mindfulness:I don't need to argue with you, until we see a revolt in Saudi Arabia from the people, I maintain that the people are happy with their government. The burden is on you to prove otherwise not me ![]() |
egobetatoday:Show me the verse in the Quran that points to Aisha's exact age at the time of marriage to the prophet? I'm going to start using your own words against you since people like you like mixing sentiments with facts! |
egobetatoday:Everything you've said is nonsense, there was a guy that argued similarly to you but the difference between you and him is that he actually provided a few facts. All you know how to do is spew trash, you can't even back up your point eloquently, guy abeg go sleep! |
egobetatoday:You are truly confused! So Isaac and Moses are not mentioned in the Bible or Christians no longer live by the Bible? Confused human being ![]() |
Mindfulness:Who told you democracy is the only acceptable form of governance? Just like the Yoruba people respected and obeyed their kings, majority of the Saudi Arabian people are content with their ruling monarchy. |
aribisala0:On the contrary, I go to church or mosque, I don't discriminate, one God as far as I'm concerned ![]() |
aribisala0:Lol....empty drum always beats the loudest, who the hell are you is not swearing, it's letting you know how insignificant you are in terms of that particular discussion. My father is retired now after serving the U.S government for over 20 years and if your father was half the man he is you would know the true meaning of respect, at most you would be in your 40s, to bring my father into the conversation shows you are out of your mind. Wake up my guy stop all that nonsense, you are a nobody as far as I'm concerned, in real life your entire clan cannot measure up to what I've achieved so far, so stop it and stop embarrassing yourself! |
aribisala0:Sentimental rhetoric will get you no where in life instead stick to facts. Who the hell are you to say women shouldn't be forced to cover up or prevented from driving? If it's the law of the land and the people there have agreed to follow such laws, who cares about your opinion? This is the problem most of the Islamic communities have with the Western world and those who believe that their way of life is the best for everyone. People in Saudi and other Islamic nation have accepted the law,my friend stop arguing based on your own sentiments please stop it! Furthermore, it's ignorant to attribute the way minorities feel in a certain place or country to a religion. Religion has got nothing to do with it! If you are a compassionate person, you would treat people right. If you are not then you'll treat people wrong regardless of religion. America is a predominantly Christian country where Muslims are looked upon with suspicions, should we blame it on Christianity the reason for such bigotry? If we were to go by your example then all Christian Americans are evil because they made a minority feel inferior, dude stop it! |
aribisala0:You still don't know what you are talking about! Any place where one group or belief is a majority, the minorities always feel neglected or unsafe. Trust me I know what groupthinking is and it is an undesired effect especially in management, based on your theory since Christians represent majority of those in Vatican city and since we've had cases upon cases of child molestation associated with high ranking members, it is safe to say that Catholics are condoning the attrocities, come on even you can see how lame that is! The fact still remains you don't judge the existence of many based on the actions of a few. Muslims represents 1.7 Billion of the world's population, extremists makes up less than 5% of that, extremists exists in all religion and that's all there is to it! |
aribisala0:You are entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. Of course Christian references are relevant here, you do not label a religion dangerous or evil and expect people not to compare it to what a majority of users here consider good or pure! The fact that you think the Muslim community makes it official the abduction of young women shows clearly that we can never see eye to eye. I prefer to argue based on facts and not sentiments. The fact that you label the actions of a few to mean the voice of the majority shows you do not know what you are talking about. You are yet to allude to the fact that if Nigeria enforced the laws in the Constitution such a thing can never happen, it is government's failure to enforce laws that led to most menaces we have today in Nigeria. I have many Muslim friends that are decent, hardworking and honest,my great grandfather was an Imam, he did so much good for his community and was very tolerant of people of different religion, my dad is the same way. I deal with executives and middle management personnel from some of the top companies in the U.S, some of them are strong Muslims and still participate in religious gatherings involving the christian and Jewish communities. Are they not reading the same Quran? Your assertion that the Islamic world approves kidnapping is not only false but just plain IGNORANT! |
aribisala0:You keep saying you are not a Christian but I detect a bit of bias in your write-up. You're still not getting it, laws are often representative of the society in which they are enacted. Sharia Law is not accepted everywhere and the countries where they are accepted it is supported by the majority just like the U.S where government officials are sworn in by the Bible. Now to the bold part of your post, you really need to stop generalizing people. There are some Muslims who are thinking differently, we have moderate Muslims incorporating Western lifestyles with the religion and it is working out for them. The problem we have is radical Islam but don't get it twisted there are radicals in every religion. It's funny you brought up ISIS, you do realize that they don't qualify as Muslims and even Islamic scholars are condemning their acts globally. You might say that well they call themselves Islamic States and are against other religions but if you watched them closely and see how they kill defenseless people, you can conclude that they are not Muslims and are definitely not fighting Jihad. For how can you fight Jihad against defenseless people? Finally I want to open your eyes to what is truly going on. Take a look at Boko Haram, ISIS and other extremists, they all have one thing in common. They are all empowered by political,traditional/cultural and governmental entities. ISIS was created due to the take down of Saddam Hussein, we all know Saddam was the glue that held the Middle East in check most times. What of Boko Haram? Were they not empowered by those in politics, did they not rise out of the killing of their leader and frustrations which arose afterwards. My point remains this, it is easy to blame a religion for all the havoc and cruelty caused by human greed but the truth remains that religion itself was created to guide humans but that does not mean we do not have the free will to determine what is right or what is wrong. You do not need to tell me it's wrong to behead children, you do not need to tell me it's right to help the poor. Religion is nothing but guidance those who make it compulsory are the extremists in our midst. |
ovo4u:If that's all you took from my comment then you seriously need to learn comprehension. to answer your question I don't know the exact age but she was definitely at the age of consent due to laws back then. Now if your idea to judge all Muslims based on what happened over 1,000 years ago then you have a problem. Go through this thread and read my posts, you'll discover that even in the supposedly pure religion of Christianity we have references of underage marriages and violent references but that does not make all Christians evil. Times have changed and the practice is no longer acceptable in society, the fact that a few still believe in it does not speak for the majority! |
aribisala0:There are so many things wrong with your assertions that it's causing me to giggle while reading. Number one,Christian or Muslim does not matter, what matters is that both books are more similar than people think and that is why I used Christianity to expose the hypocrisy. Furthermore, no one is saying Moses, Isaac and Joseph were Christians but they are key figures in Christianity with references to them in the Bible hence the correlation. You can't talk about the present or future without referencing the past, this is a universal law. Now to conclude, I think you are missing the reason why I've used Christianity as a reference. People(Mostly Christians) seems to think that Islam is drastically different from Christianity and that the main difference lies in the opinion that Islam is more violent than Christianity. It takes only a deep dive in the Bible to realize that molestation, underage marriages, violence and other vices are clearly evident in the Bible but does that make Christians evil? No! So why should Islam be different? This is why I said religion is not the problem but man's interpretation of it! |
egobetatoday:Unlike you, I'm a devoted scholar not brainwashed by religion or religious leaders. The evidence is out there if only you can get off your lazy a** and look for it! |
egobetatoday:Did Isaac and Joseph marry an underage child? Yes. Did Moses and other prophets in the Bible kill in the name of God? Yes. “In Numbers 31:15-18, after his soldiers had killed all of the men among the Midianites, Moses ordered his army officers to kill all of the male children, kill all of the nonvirgin females but to save alive all of the virgin girls for his troops. Prior to this, the Israelites had taken all of the animals and goods of the Midianites and then burned all of their towns. If genocide or "ethnic cleansing" is a war crime, then this act of Moses was clearly a war crime…What possible reason could Moses have given in order to justify this horrendous act of genocide? After all, wasn't he the great "law giver"? He claimed that Yahweh, the God of Israel, ordered him to do this, because the Midianites worshiped a deity named Baal Peor. The Midianites felt that Baal Peor was nature's god, the creator of the universe, whereas the Israelites believed that their god Yahweh was the creator. .. So, in effect, what we have here is a demonization of those people who refer to the creator by a different name. These people are accused of worshiping a false god. It's difficult to help another man see when you can't remove the speck in your own eyes! |
naijadeyhia2:Show me the place in the Bible that confirms she was 20 years of age at the time of marriage? We all know that Isaac married at the age of 40, 3 years after his mother's death. News of Rebecca's birth reached Abraham at the time of Sarah's death, let's say in the olden days it was hard to get news from one point to another, let's say it took 2 to 5 years for Abraham to hear the news and an additional 2 years to reach Rebecca's father, this still leaves Rebecca at a maximum age of 10 when married. Either way you look at it 3 or 10, your beloved Bible supports underage marriages. I know the truth is hard but accept thy fate/faith! |
preggi:I probably have more family members in the North than you do and they are smart enough to realize that this situation requires constant harassment of the police, media and all other relevant agencies. For goodness sake what don't you understand here, why has it taken 6 years for this issue to receive media attention? You can say that they are poor and didn't know better but ignorance is not an excuse. They are poor parents and that's the bottom line! |
ovo4u:You've been found guilty of generalization and as such are not worthy of my time but nonetheless I will educate you a little, as a product of a Christian mother and a Muslim father I find your comment highly offensive. The problem here is not religion, the problem is tradition and lack of a better government. In advanced countries there are laws in place to protect underage girls, there are laws in place against kidnapping and so on but here in Nigeria laws are either non existent or not enforced. Now to my next point, you seem not to realize that Muslims in Saudi Arabia are different from Muslims in Lagos or Muslims in Indonesia or Northern Nigeria. Each society interprets religion according to the tradition and culture of the people there. In the North, marrying a 15 year old girl is seen as the norm,in the South it is seen as a taboo. Are you saying Muslims in the South are not following the Quran? Are you saying Muslims in the North are richer than those in the South? You see my friend, Islam is not the problem, the problem is interpretation. |
preggi:Shut your stinking mouth! Any parent that allows his or her child to be taken away and keeps quiet for over 6 years is not worthy of being called a parent. Responsible parents that I know would have raised hell and moved mountains just to get the child back especially when the culprit is known. So before you bore me with your useless rhetoric, shove it! |
naijadeyhia2:Go and read your bible very well, Rebecca was 3 years old when promised to a 40 year old Isaac. |
ovo4u:How old was Rebecca when Isaac married her? |
“Miss Ejeh was allegedly abducted by one Hajiya Zarau on the 31st day of October 2009 and taken to an Imam’s house for the purpose of conversion to Islam. Why now? Was there no government or NGOs between 2009 to 2015? A 14 year old in 2009 is now 20 or 21 years of age, would have probably given birth numerous times and by now accepted her fate. What were the parents or family members doing since then? Abeg make this people go sit down jaare, another publicity stunt! |
scachy:Illiteracy is seriously disturbing you. Even the article that you posted shows that it was just a temporary drop due to vandalism and that the previous month we were generating over 5000MW. Get out! The nation achieved its peak generation of 5,074.70MW on February 2, when 4,541.85MW was generated and 4,447.88MW was sent out. |
He should have been detained more than a few days and given a couple of smacks maybe then his head go correct. Which one be ISI again? Nigerians always wanting to be more religious than the pope himself....rubbish! |
Unfortunately most computers running slow are not plagued with start up problems but configuration and msconfig will only cure less than half of that. If your computer is low on RAM and you love playing online games or visiting Facebook then the solution is an upgrade. If your computer is slow due to a virus or malware then the solution is to do a clean install of Windows and buy a stronger anti-virus. Finally if your computer is slow because it is old then no amount of upgrade or antivirus can help you, spend the cash and get a new computer! |
It's okay to discipline your child but this? This is just cruelty! |
scachy:I can't help but laugh, my guy stop insulting my intelligence! See facts are different from sentiments and what you wrote above is pure rubbish! I could spend a whole day picking your points apart but I'm a very busy man and will only give you two points of correction. See I could care less about protesters being shot or election violence, those are not the things we voted Buhari for. But in terms of economic indices such as inflation and power generation, guy I must call you out on your blatant lie! Point 1: Power generation drops below 2,500MW, this is bullsh*t as of February the figure is about 3,600 MW http://www.esi-africa.com/news/nigerian-power-generation-drops-even-further/ Point 2: Inflation rate above 50%, guy you can lie o! As of February inflation rate is less than 11% http://www.tradingeconomics.com/nigeria/inflation-cpi Under Obama in 2008 unemployment rate was over 13%(compared to under 4% during the Clinton era), banks were shutting down, companies moving out of the U.S, the stock exchange market crashed and more people lost their homes. It took him almost 3 years to stop the bleeding. Perhaps next time you should get your facts straight instead of arguing things way beyond your comprehension! |
Lady you are the classic example of a Nigerian Bimbo! You didn't learn lesson from your first marriage, you decided to get back together with someone with a sketchy personality. Haven't you realized by now that the most vulnerable women are those who pressure guys with talks of marriage and so on? Instead of you to take things slowly, you allowed one guy to use you as testing and now you say you've been cursing him. Well I have bad news for you, your curses won't have any effect on him as you were a willing participant. Now enough criticism it's time to move on, I suggest you move closer to God and forget about relationships or marriage for now because most guys would see you as an easy target for you are truly emotionally imbalanced. |
BushidoBlue:Dude stop insulting yourself, I don't know you and you don't know me but I can tell you comfortably that I started my first business at the age of 19 while at 300 level in O.O.U selling Forex e-books and trading lessons, since then I've started several businesses with some failing and others succeeding. My investments spans across Nigeria and the U.S, yes I'm an employee of a Fortune 500 company but I also have much at stake in how well Nigeria does economically. |
