scachy:People like you prefer to function based on sentiments rather than facts, it's the reason the black race is so backwards. If there's anything I've learnt from dealing with some of the most intelligent people in corporate America, it's the fact that real progress takes time! |
Iprofit:Minister? If you meant pastor or reverend then the answer is no! If you meant like government minister, the answer is simple the U.S does not use ministers but secretaries. We have secretary of state, defense and so on but the answer to that is also no ![]() |
BushidoBlue:I don't know professor, can you tell us how messed up the economy is compared to 2014? Believing 9 months is enough to change things is not only delusional but ridiculous! |
This is nonsense, why would you back your child and sit at your desk working? The child looks mightily uncomfortable and I doubt if the mother can actually be more productive in such a position. This is why it is a criminal to do such in America, the whites often see this as child endangerment, child cruelty and attempt to suffocate a child. |
The most important thing to remember about your physical appearance is that always dress for the part you are playing. If you are going for an office job then suits are the norm but if you are going for a job that requires getting your hands dirty or handling machinery then suits are not compulsory. Your interview should be the chance for you to demonstrate something that is not on your resume or CV., do your research about the company, tell the interviewer about how you would fit in with the organization be careful when discussing advancement, you do not want to tell the manager that in 5 years time you hope to be the director of the company ![]() |
scachy:Has your life gotten worse from September 2014 till now? If the answer is yes then the problem is with you and not Nigeria. Even in advanced countries with less complex problems as Nigeria did not turn things around till after a couple of years. E.g. Obama became president in 2008, America was losing jobs at a rate of over 200,000 per month, it took him 3 years to stop the country from losing jobs and an additional 2 years for the country to get unemployment rate down to 6%. If it took America, a country so much advanced than Nigeria a total of 5 years to go from negative to positive, what makes you think 9 months is enough for Buhari to turn things around considering the amount of obstacles he met on ground? |
Just one question: If you don't stand with Buhari what options do you have? Hug a transformer? Continue Wailing till 2019? Take poison or relocate outside of Nigeria? I know most of you expected miracles and most of you are truly clueless on how messed up the economy was b4 Buhari took over but know this, years and years of corruption and embezzlement cannot be wiped out in 1 year, if Buhari cannot get it done in 4 years then vote him out! Buhari is the president till 2019, till then there's no use giving yourself high blood pressure, accept thy fate and hope for the best! |
We only humans we make mistakes. To make it up be willing to do whatever it takes tell her you love her like a fat kid loves cake and when she smiles that's a sign she knows your style Seriously my niggy, don't stress yourself it's just a phase. Instead of focusing on her bad behaviors focus on repaying it with love by paying extra attention to your kids and making extra efforts to make them and the mother feel special. If you kicked her out, the kids will suffer. If you start arguing with her or being abusive, the kids will suffer. When you eventually reach your breaking point, go away for a week or two without informing anybody. I assure you if there's still a drop of love in her heart for you, she'll start calling family and friends to look for you ![]() |
sukkot:I'm not debating with you that it exists, I'm however saying that it is not enforceable. Why is it not enforceable? Because common law marriages are highly subjective meaning only the Judge can determine what truly constitutes a common law marriage not the 5 years that you mentioned and we all know how 9ja works na Furthermore in this particular case, common law does not exists because according to the Nigerian Marriage Act:33. (1) No marriage in Nigeria shall be valid where either of the parties thereto at the time of the celebration of such marriage is married under customary law to any person other than the person with whom such marriage is had. 39. Whoever, being unmarried, goes through the ceremony of marriage under this Act with a person whom he or she knows to be married to another person, shall be liable to imprisonment for five years. This is further confirmed by the marriage validation act which states: 5. Nothing in this Act shall- (b) render valid any marriage if before the coming into operation of this Act- (i) the marriage has been declared invalid by any court of competent jurisdiction, or (ii) either of the parties to the marriage has during the life of the other, lawfully married any other per-son; or |
sukkot:Maybe for yankee or other advanced countries but not 9ja! Common law marriages holds no weight. |
Nigerians will never cease to amaze me, he did not marry her legally but goes to the court for a divorce. The court has no jurisdiction on such issues. In the eyes of the law, you are not married unless evidence of a court, church/nikkai or traditional marriage exists. Mr. man stop wasting our time jaare..... |
Number 1: Unless you have evidence that those words came out of the mouth of Buhari then you have no case. In advanced countries we have what we call super PACS and other financiers who make outrageous promises just to entice the voting electorate, most times these promises go unfulfilled because they were just campaign noises. Number 2: How can a country with a depleted federal reserve knocked down by the three headed monster of corruption ever pay such an amount to the populace. Even in advanced countries, unemployment benefits are scaled down drastically when the country is in debt. Number 3: Judging a presidency based on less than a year of presiding is very unwise. Buhari is not a miracle worker, most people voted for him because we know he has the potential to turn things around but make no mistake it is a very tough battle which might require his entire first term to achieve. Why not wait till 2019 and use your vote to judge whether he did good or not? A lot of things can happen within 2 years, oil prices could go up, we could recover many stolen loot and so on, the choice is yours either be patient and watch things play out or ask for directions to Aso Rock and make your demands ![]() |
ponti93:Yea that's right! |
ponti93:That also factors in but mostly because majority of them are not very bright! |
Today is Super Tuesday, Trump is going to dominate and forge his way closer to the Republican nomination. Trump will not deport anybody but he would work with Congress to deport the illegal immigrants meaning not only Nigerians but Mexicans and so on. Trump is gaining momentum and if Hillary wins the Democratic nomination, Trump is going to eat her alive.....The only hope is Bernie Sanders but unfortunately majority of Americans are too dumb to realize this! |
Enough of this nonsense, return the girl to her parents A.S.A.P! If the guy is interested in her, he should do it the proper way not through abduction. Now for the silly girl, since she's 17 this makes it difficult, the parent must be able to prove her rightful age otherwise I'm afraid a 17 year old is considered an adult in the Nigeria Constitution. Sad but true! |
geccibede:Like I said you know little about this particular foundation, annual letters and reports are necessary for any business to show the government they are not stealing funds. I agree with you some NGOs must advertise in order to get sponsors and donations but when it comes to Bill Gates there is no such thing. No hard feelings! |
geccibede:Show me the press conference released by Bill Gates for one of his charities! Please show me the ad on tv or on the internet where he came out to publicize his donations? How can I be ignorant about a subject I know vastly more than you? Please stop insulting yourself, at least I'm more familiar with Bill Gates and his NGOs than you, if you can't accept everything else at least accept that! |
AZeD1:I think you are missing my point, just because you are intelligent or well educated doesn't mean it would lead to success, wealth and/or fame. I have no doubt that the guy with 5.0 CGPA is a valuable asset but the world is cruel and such talents are not giving their due attention. Oh by the way, of course Ajax is not really a programming language since it is just a combination of JavaScript and XML. The true language is Java ![]() |
anonimi:Obviously you are high on horse weed! The mere fact that you believe a computer programmer or coder is the same as an engineer speaks to your ignorance of the subject, I've consulted for Microsoft in the past and actually got several of their certifications, the fact that almost everyone working on patches, coding or bugs are called engineers does not mean they are actually engineers. For your information, I can program and code in several languages including Python and Ajax and to call me an engineer because of that is just plain ridiculous. I wouldn't expect you to understand any of this ![]() |
anonimi:I'm sure you are educated, the people that you mentioned are they engineers, M.D or physicist? |
It's all over the world. The highest paid humans are not necessarily the brightest. An engineer, physicist or an M.D makes less than $500k yearly. Beyoncé, Rihanna, Ryan Reynolds and Will Smith makes 3x to even 10x of that yearly. |
What is wrong in carrying your own child. What most people don't know is that it is an additional way to bond with your children. Most children feel safer when carried and the more you do it, the more they trust you. It's a win-win situation! |
Mindfulness: The truth is this, marriage is considered one of the components of having a successful life for women, it is placed very highly on their success pyramid. For men, it is way lower on the pyramid and considered way less important. For men, money is considered the top priority, this is why society blames the man for not being wealthy and blames the woman for not building or keeping her home(family). This leads us to the main question, what happens when we have misplaced priorities? When women start chasing money and career and men start chasing love? We have a disaster, a shift in the continuum of life and an hyperbolic sequence of negative consequences. This is why men who chase love find themselves being hurt by that same love and women who chase money end up regretting later on in life. Ask Oprah Winfrey why she decided she did not want to get married or have any kids? Her answer would be that it was her decision but deep down inside she was afraid of commitment and by the time she realized what was going on, it was too late. I see no reason why a woman can't have it all; success, fame, good home, sexy body, lovely kids and so on. The ultimate decision is deciding whether you are going to see marriage as an obstacle or an opportunity, are you going to see it as a negative or a positive? After all the richest woman in Africa (Alakija) enjoyed the benefits of marriage! So in totality, the Nigerian society is actually doing single successful women a huge favor by being on their case, as I am yet to see a 40 year old woman who can truly say she's happy being single without kids and with no regrets! It may sound idiotic to your ignorant mind but emotions are just emotions, there's nothing positive or negative about them, once again Google is your friend, do your research! Next, I have attached my original quote to show how foolish you truly are, notice the word I used was single(Is Oprah single? NO), so where did you come up with 'unmarried'? Oprah is not single therefore using her as your point of validation has failed. At this juncture it's clear that you are way below my level of intellect and any further discussion is an insult to me, perhaps you should change your moniker to Mindlessness, shalom! |
Mindfulness: Where do I start from? Do you know that your lack of knowledge on this issue is really evident? There's no such thing as positive or negative emotions, emotions are emotions! Next, feminism is all about women's empowerment, this includes women having the right to decide whether they want kids or not among other issues. Oprah Winfrey that you mentioned is one of the biggest champion of feminism, if you don't understand this then it's just plain sad! Now let's move on to your other point, of all people in the world, you chose Oprah? Is she wealthy? Yes, over 40? Yes! Is she single? No!(Her man is Stedman Graham) Did she ever have a child? Yes(At the age of 14, Oprah delivered a child but unfortunately the child only survived for a couple of weeks, it was this traumatic experience that influenced her decision to go through life childless). Once again you've succeeded in making a mockery of yourself, try harder.....Drops mic!http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20765210,00.html |
Mindfulness:Why do you love leaving out points which contradicts your own? It's not wealthy women with no kids but wealthy women, who are single, with no kids and have no regrets. I'm sure you did well in school, learn to follow directions please! You did the same thing with your second argument, emotions are not just the happy ones, you must consider the unpleasant ones too, so in that regards I'm not going to answer you. Now if your question went like this, do I feel less emotions than a female? The answer would be yes! From biological to psychological, women are built to be more emotional. There will always be exceptions but majority carries the vote, women are more sensitive to their emotions. Finally, I really would like to educate you more but you see that would just make it too easy. Search Google and do the research, I'm sure the knowledge gained will be much more valuable ![]() |
Mindfulness: |
Mindfulness:Point 1: Such a person would be a testimony to the world and a hero to the feminist cause if they ever came out. So far we've not heard of anyone of that caliber, so your argument still relies on speculation and not fact! Point 2: Stop insulting the scientific community, most of the research has been proven over and over again, a simple search on Google would attest to this. Facts are facts my friend, it can't be changed! |
Mindfulness:Stop speculating if such a woman did exist she would be at the forefront of the feminism movement, the pure fact is that they do not exist! In regards to your next point, you do realize that there are years upon years of research which backs up the fact that women are more emotional than men, I'm sure you are familiar with estrogen and other hormones. |
Mindfulness:Go back and read my friend, I never argued about happiness being subjective rather I pointed out that I've never seen a single woman in her 40s, wealthy with no kids and with no regrets. Remember it's possible to be happy and still have regrets, especially for women who represent the most emotional creatures on earth! |
geccibede:Learn to read before commenting, we are talking about Bill Gates not Microsoft. I'm more familiar with his charity works than most people here on Nairaland because I've consulted for the organization several times. Just last year Bill Gates completed over 60 different projects aimed at reducing hunger in Africa, most people are unaware of this because unless you are familiar with his charity organizations you wouldn't even know they were financed by Bill. |
Mindfulness:Proud parents because their kids are protecting the cycle of life! Like I said happiness is highly subjective, what works for Tom might not work for Jerry! |
