I'm still surprised people are still able to say the name Jonathan without feelings of anger and being betrayed. This man is responsible for the mess we are in now just like Obama is responsible for the U.S National debt reaching astronomical levels, just like W. Bush was responsible for putting the nation in a war it had no business fighting. Let's not joke with sentiments here and call a spade a spade, we had a choice of continuing to mask our problems and pretending everything was okay or to bring it all out and work towards a recovery path. If Jonathan had won the mandate we would have had 4 more years of blatant looting of the treasury, 4 more years of extreme wastages and we would all be worse off come 2019 and before some of you try to argue consider this oil price was between $70 to $100 per barrel from 2011 to 2014, during that time period Nigeria made a minimum of $55 Billion in oil revenue, if we had a credible president shouldn't we have saved for rainy days? Less than 2 years since oil prices started collapsing we find ourselves in unprecedented debt level yet the enemies of Nigeria continue to call this man a saint, a phrophet and his behavior heavenly, are you people high or what? In my opinion, Buhari has until 2019 to get it right, if he does not then the people will vote him out, it's not as if people were that crazy about him in the first place but we all just wanted change. To call Jonathan prophet like is not only a slap in the face of all prophets past and present but a kick in the gut of every well meaning Nigerian!

Someone should advice Buhari dat u cannot use a 1984 reasoning to make changes in a 2016 situation.

Expending 95% of Ur strength to hound, fight and pursue KANU, dasuki and co will not put food on the tables of the poor man.
Pls give us an economic roadmap. A sound revolution that will turn our dying economy around.
There must be compromises..some guilty ones will be ignored, all in a bid to make things better. Even America covers some of their problems so dat de can look good and strong to the world. If u spend Ur whole four years on corruption litigations and the economy falls, are we gonna eat dia flesh in prison?

Think Buhari think. Prove to dem dat Ur not the Dullard de call u.
Since when does Buhari =EFCC? EFCC is the body in charge of prosecuting these cases leave Buhari out of it! The only thing Buhari is guilty of is not having a sound economic policy in place by now and allowing the CBN governor to continue even though it is clear that both him and the finance minister are way out of their element!
Webmasters › Re: 8 Major Factors To Consider When Purchasing A Domain Name by abbey621(m): 3:36pm On Feb 19, 2016
Before you buy a domain, hosting or any marketing tool, make sure you have a business plan in place. Every entrepreneur, small, medium and large business owner started with an idea, they wrote the idea down and started strategizing on how to get the idea to consumers. A domain name, hosting and website building should come secondary. I recommend entrepreneurs to start with tools they already have such as a Facebook page, a blog such as Blogger or Wordpress in order to minimize costs.

This is the height of it, if you are going to accuse someone or tarnish someone's image at least be credible about it. If the problem is so bad and unbearable why can't a name or a face be put behind the accusation. Those accusing her should speak publicly instead of this charade or maybe they are afraid of being sued for slandering!

Lol, you minored in psychology. That doesn't make u a master of depression. My msc dissertation is centered around depression and other SMI, but i wont claim to know abt depression as much as those going through it. Also, there is a strong correlation between depression and suicidal tendencies. The higher the severity the more likely the probability of suicide (Harter, 1993; Berman et al, 2006). I can keep citing literatures, but u have to be in dier shoes to understand. Its surprising dat someone with educational exposure like u will have an idea like this.

On a lighter mood, ur Masters degree ws in what field?
We can quote literature all day but I'm going to do you a favor and refer you to a site built by one of the companies I consulted for in the past.

http://www.suicide.org/suicide-causes.html

On this page, you can see the expert views of some of the world's leading mental health experts, a particular statement proves my point,

"It is very rare that someone dies by suicide because of one cause. Thus, there are usually several causes, and not just one, for suicide."

Hope this settles it!

My first Masters was an MBA with a concentration in healthcare management.

I didn't prove your point. I was telling you that people in informal sector fear anyone in uniform more than you and I do. May be it has to do with their low level of education and in some cases, their inability to understand English language/pidgin or to express themselves. Bus drivers can never snare at soldiers in Nigeria.
I hate when people use the word never, because it means absolute certainty, please try not to use that type of qualification when speaking of a general group of people. We all know we have normal and abnormal bus drivers so you don't know what they can or cannot do. I've seen a Masters degree holder driving a bus and a former lecturer driving BRT, they definitely do not fall into your generalized class of bus drivers!

I'm also benefiting as I've exchanged more than $15000 dollars in 2 days. The Naira will eventually rise when the official rate is adjusted close to 220 or 230 and the forex restrictions lifted. This will be the proper time to strike and change money back to dollars for extra profit.....UpNigeria!

While I applaud this noble gesture, I detest the publicity, the best charity is done annonymously. If the hawker has any iota of wisdom, he would sell the car immediately and invest with the money. A car in 9ja can be a blessing and a curse, don't be surprised if he ends up spending more than half of the money on fuel and maintenance.

It's a legitimate illness. He has the right to do whatever he wants with his life. This is why Africa is in shambles, too many low IQ m0rons like you living in it. Maybe you should be the one to kill himself. It will natural selection at its finest.
Ode you are still acting like a bebeto! I probably know more about mental illnesses than you and no he does not have the right to kill himself. In a sane society, suicide is a criminal act with punishment focused on restricting the individual's freedom if he or she survives, so stop with your rhetoric. Insults are not going to make you look smarter or brighter so just cut it out! Why would I ever think of killing myself, my bank accounts are getting bigger, I'm living the dream many dreamers dream about, biko death no dey my potion..... grin grin grin

You've just proved my point! You mentioned the driver might not even understand what the soldier was saying this might be due to illiteracy, being intoxicated or other factors, either way I believe the driver was reversing and was not cautious, he struck the soldier and caused the reaction.

This is a case of pure ignorance and lack of respect! The bus driver was asked a simple question, the army man asked him why did he hit him with his vehicle? Simple and honest question, instead of driver to answer I'm sorry no vex or I'm sorry, he just sneered(A mocking smile or remark). This is enough to anger anybody and when it comes to army personnel it is enough to shout bloody civilian and treat the driver's f*ck up. We have to remember most of our military members are frustrated and cold, don't let them take out their frustrations on you!

Your analysis is soooo lame and ignorant.

What is the cost of Mama Ngozi's time to prepare the raw meat into delicious peppersoup, what is the cost of the ingredients, what is the cost of her renting her restaurant/buka, what is her labour cost, what is the opportunity cost of her time and efforts? Or did the raw animal killed by the hunter magically turn into delicious peppersoup in thin air?
Stop calling people names and see the bigger picture. Even if mama Ngozi made just 2500 it is still a 150% profit meaning it's still a bad deal. I don't know why we love sentiments and technicalities in this country, we are so blind to simplicity and saying the truth that we try to convince ourselves we are some type of 'know it all'! Mr. genius, when was the last year the Naira was devalued significantly? Olodo! The Naira had been devalued twice since the drop in global oil prices began, first in November 2014, when the central bank lowered the midpoint of the official peg by eight per cent to 168 per dollar.

In February 2015, the CBN also scrapped its twice-weekly auctions at which the naira was sold at a subsidized rate, a move that resulted in an effective weakening in the exchange rate of the currency by about 15 per cent. Facts are facts my friend, stop arguing baselessly!

Did I hear u say what does not belong to you?? If food in my pot does not belong to my kids who in God's name dies it belongs to??
My up bringing is quite different from your I was allowed to eat to my fill and I turned up WELL! I'm a wife, mother of 5 kids, and a successful lawyer. I achieved all this before 30, by the special Grace of God. However my husband grew up poor but I can't imagine him beating any of our kids for eating food...
Recently there was a joke on social media on reasons why kids git beaten back in the day. To some it was funny but to me, it just explained why we have some many screwed up and heartless folks in our society today! The abuse some kids went through as kids made them so hard and insensitive to the plight of others. Our leaders are all products of our society, they are wicked and don't give a damn about the common man. I think it has to do with the way many of them were raised.
I understand where you are coming from but understand this, some of the kids who were disciplined the way I was actually turned out to be quite successful. If I should use myself as an example, I basically worked for everything I got and am very close to a net savings of 100m Naira with 2 houses built and lots of other properties, my mental reasoning is probably sharper than the average Joe and never for once did I display the mentality of a cruel or uncaring human being. Enough about me, I know friends who grew up the same way I did and are middle or top management in some of the well known companies in Nigeria. Once again, taking food from a pot in your house denotes bad behavior as a child, a parent should never condone such activity. Parents can choose to ignore it or make light of it but majority of African parents don't tolerate such attitude of greed or rebellion in a child!

Just because your parents were poor or/and cruel does not mean it should be condoned. Growing up in the 80s I had no reason to steal meat cos may parents gave me enough... you don't punish a child for being hungry! My kids are allowed to eat anything from my pot as long as they don't waste it. Nigerian parents should learn how to feed their kids well.
No one is saying it should be condoned but understood! Some of you peeps on net just type for typing sake, mehn what's wrong with you! If you never took meat from the pot as a child or stole money from mama or papa's chest or draws good for you but don't assume everyone grew up with the same mentality, I was trying to let people understand where the grandmother is coming from and that her problem is ignorance not wickedness. Even as a child with all the discipline I never for once considered my parents or grandparents cruel, for you to use such a word shows your low level of reasoning. You might raise your kids to take anything from your pot whenever they feel like it but trust me the typical Nigerian family does not operate with the same mentality. As a Yoruba man, we were taught the value of discipline and not taking what does not belong to you, as a child most of my mates were very mischievous and when caught we were disciplined from 24 to 48 strokes of the whip to 2 hours plus of punishment to being disgraced publicly. Nothing was out of bounds, nowadays looking back I thank my parents and grandparents for such strong discipline, it made me stronger, wiser and more accountable. To top it all off, you ended with Nigerian parents should feed their kids well, this statement is typical of a person out of touch with reality! If you grew up in Mushin or a less privilege society and you were poor, you would realize people don't eat to be satisfied but to survive. We had a formula back then 1-0-1 or 0-1-1 or on a very bad day 0-0-1 where 0 meant no food and 1 meant food for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Hunnydropps:
I hear what you are saying...I do. But just because things were done in a certain way in the past doesn't mean it was right. That's why things change and certain behaviors are outlawed or curbed in some manner. Not everyone may be exposed to education or have the privilege of living in more desirable environments but I highly doubt that this grandma is in a situation where all she sees is this behavior...someone did report her and it's being looked into. That means there are those that live around her that disagree with this as well, correct?
Now whether you think I speak as a child I can accept if 'speaking ad a child' means I'm an advocate of childrens' rights and against child abuse. I'm for disciplining 100%...but there is a line where discipline turns to abuse. I'm sure you are a good and reasonable person and entitled to your view. I'm just saying the child ate the bowl of rice...the punishment didn't fit the crime.
Just because someone reported does not mean the society is educated or as advanced as a typical Lagos community. Now if the grandma is used to such forms of discipline and no one ever corrected her, how is she then to know what she has done is wicked or unacceptable? We have to realize that while we as educated, informed entities in society know that this is wickedness, in the eyes of the grandmother this was just discipline. I can assure you if she was cautioned in the past, she wouldn't have gone to such extreme. In our judgment, let's remember a lot of old men and women out there are clueless in parenting skills and are forever restricted to old fashioned disciplining unless we educate them!

So because the child doesn't look bruisedhuh..are the burns to the face not enough of a crime in itself?
No excuse for this behavior. An adult should know better. How can you expect a child to mind and have good judgement and self control when you yourself, as that child's own grandparent, can't control yourself. At that, the child only lost control or even straight disobeyed over a bowl of rice and the grandma thought they deserved this treatment? Tell me now...what does she think her punishment should be for her offense? Would she like to receive in the same ratio to which she gave? Wicked witch!
You speak like a child! You think everyone is as educated as you or privileged to live in an educated society. The grandmother might be a disciplinarian using past or outdated method of discipline on her grandchild to reinforce positive behaviors. Ever heard of the act where a child breaks plates and the parents or guardian marks the child's face or body with the broken plates. In today's society it is considered brutality and assault but when I was growing up it was considered discipline. You children born in the 90s and 2000s are always cracking me up, if you have older friends or someone who grew up in the 70s or 80s ask them how tough it was growing up!
