Business › Re: Entrepreneurship In Nigeria Is A Scam And A Multiplier Of Poverty by abbey621(m): 12:56pm On Mar 14, 2016
Entrepreneurship is not about inventions but innovation. There are some parts to your post that are invalid. For example you stated America did not become great by people hawking or trading. It would be wise of you to note that America became great through local production and small scale businesses. Entrepreneurship is much more than personal gain, it is about coming up with a product or service that changes the way people do things. You don't have to come up with something new but you can take something already in existence and change the way it works, it's about revolution! To say most entrepreneurs in 9ja achieved success through dubious means is not only false but slanderous, we have hard working entrepreneurs in 9ja who had risen above all odds to become a success. Even in advanced countries like the U.S, more and more people are working for themselves. Entrepreneurship is not a scam, it's the future!
Romance › Re: Why Keep A Girlfriend And Don't Spend On Her? by abbey621(m): 2:09pm On Mar 12, 2016
It is this exact double standard that keeps making females inferior to men. Women feminist groups advocate independence, self reliability and so on yet when a guy chooses to treat his woman as equal it is seen as unacceptable. There's nothing wrong in spending on your partner as long as it is reciprocal. It shouldn't be a one way thing, men are not ATM!
Romance › Re: Should I Still Go Ahead And Marry Him? by abbey621(m): 11:49pm On Mar 11, 2016
Don't marry someone you cannot trust because marriage means that you are willing to live with their faults so that you may enjoy the good attributes. One more thing, get it out of your mind that because you were hospitalized the guy should have paid your hospital bills,he's your boyfriend not an ATM, you are not his responsibility until he puts a ring on it. Finally, you told us he slapped you once but conveniently left out what led to the slap. I've seen a lot of women over step their boundaries from physically tearing a guy's shirt to breaking the windshield of his car. All in all, don't marry someone you cannot trust, this goes for the guy also!

Someone tells you that at the slightest disagreement, her husband beats her... Yet youre condemning her for not confronting more.

Now I see why some people get 25 in Jamb English.
So it's okay to confront him on money and other domestic issues but when it comes to homosexuality she's afraid of her safety? Nice!
Politics › Re: ‘my Husband Is Gay, He Masturbates In My Presence’ – Former Minister’s Daughter by abbey621(m): 2:25pm On Mar 11, 2016
I smell nothing but lies here, I don't know of a woman that would have suspicions of her husband being gay and not confront him about it. I don't know a woman who would watch her husband masturbate and not confront him. The truth is this, she is being very defensive about the whole issue and this most often than not indicates false tendencies. Now there may be some truth to this such as maltreatment, violence and so on but to add homosexuality and masturbation to the list just seems a little sketchy to me.
Education › Re: Teacher Exposes Her Legs In Front Of Primary School Pupils (Photos) by abbey621(m): 12:38pm On Mar 11, 2016
If this was done in front of kids then there shouldn't be much of a problem because kids are not supposed to have dirty minds and if they do then there's something seriously wrong with their upbringing. What the photo exposes more than anything is the fact that most teachers are stressed out and frustrated due to heat, poor infrastructure, low salary and so on. Being a teacher is not easy and more often than not they get little credit for what they do right and a lot of criticism for what they did wrong.

Sports › Re: Champions League: Chelsea Eliminated By PSG - What's Next For The Blues? by abbey621(m): 1:20pm On Mar 10, 2016
Even if we don't win anything for the next 3 years we would still be okay. Seriously, we need to rebuild the team around young fresh talent like Kennedy. Chelsea's youth team has been dominant for the past few years, I see no reason why some of those talents can't be transferred into the senior team; worse come to worst they'll perform the way Fabregas and Hazard performed this season. The club needs to sell Hazard and Oscar then use the money to buy two young but solid defenders and a striker.

But it was becaise of this anomaly that the law was amended. In akwa ibom, the legal age was 15(Or 16)? In some other states, it was 14, etc. The law was amended to address this issue and the Nigerian constitution reigns supreme over any regional law. I understand that tnese people hide under sharia law to perpetrate and evade injustice and the law respectively and I wonder why successive governments have allowed that to fester. Anyway kidnapping should get the bagga some 10--15 years, but it is very unfair that one side gets to have their own law and other made to abide by another. Nigeria is a secular state.
It's a very controversial law, I for one can never support sharia even though I have an Islamic background. The law is just too rigid. I've not seen a Nigerian president that can tackle sharia. Remember sharia law gained ground due to Nigerian presidents who happened to be Christians. OBJ allowed it to flourish in the North and GEJ turned a blind eye. We all know Buhari is not going to mention the subject so it's going to get stronger. Back to the subject tho, the kidnapping charge should be sufficient at teaching him a lesson.

Section 7 of the bill, the controversial part which dealt with defilement of children, states that:

‎7. (1) A person who commits an act which causes penetration with a child is guilty of an offence called defilement.

(2) A person who commits an offence of defilement with a child aged eleven years or less shall upon conviction be sentenced to imprisonment for life.

(3) A person who commits an offence of defilement with a child between the age of twelve and fifteen years is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for life.

‎(4) A person who commits an offence of defilement with a child between the age of sixteen and eighteen years is liable upon conviction to imprisonment for life.

Sir I don't know if the nomenclature is the source of confusion for you but...

STATUTORY RAPE means that by law (statute) a person under a certain age can't say yes (even if he/she does) BECAUSE the law (statute) sees the victim as too young to know the meaning of yes and no for purposes of sex
I know what statutory rape means but you are forgetting one thing, a 14 year old girl is considered to have reached the age of consent in the North due to Sharia law, since what we were told is that the girl is now a Muslim it makes it hard for the Nigerian constitution to fight for her since the law of the land is Sharia. The only thing they can hook the guy on is kidnapping and even that is subject to the testimony of the 14 year old girl. Unless the Nigerian government wants to use the guy as a scapegoat or an example to deter future occurrence, there's no way he could be found guilty of statutory rape!

The lawyer cannot defend anything here, whethe=r lovebirds as he claims or not. The girl is underage and this is statutory rape, no matter how you look at it. The girl hasnt even attained the age of legal consent, so kidnapping charge among others will likely stick too. That nigga is going to jail even if they try to do their aboki comraderie, e no go work. Even at 18 years, he is going to prison, not juvenile home. He is an adult at 18 by Nigerian laws.
Statutory rape? According to which constitution? Definitely not the Nigerian Constitution!

Exactly d reason she needs some stability... You advised she gets more education right? How will she do that with all d moving about ish.
Yea she needs stability but not at the risk of losing her marriage. Online education is always an option, with just a laptop and internet connection she can complete her degree with much needed flexibility.
Family › Re: Wife To Separate From Husband For Relocating Too Much by abbey621(m): 5:55pm On Mar 09, 2016
Why do people get married? Is it not for better or worse? At every stage the man keeps trying to elevate his family, he does not want to end up like so many people abroad working till the age of 60 with no savings whatsoever! Instead of the wife to be threatening divorce she should learn to communicate with the husband and actually try to educate herself more so she can also pursue good paying jobs, both the husband and her should have a 5 to 7 year plan to work towards stability and ultimately towards retirement, everything is not gra gra jaare!
Family › Re: Why Men Should Only Do Traditional Marriage by abbey621(m): 5:42pm On Mar 09, 2016
In Nigeria men reign supreme, even the laws are more favorable towards us but it helps to create additional safeguards just incase. Putting the name of your child or children on properties negates any future consequences that may arise due to divorce. When it comes to cash, setting up a corporation means your business profits are safeguarded against personal liabilities, this is what smart successful men do. Remember wealth won't give you intelligence but intelligence protects your wealth....may God save us all!
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Which Of These Jobs Would You Advice This Lawyer To Go For? by abbey621(m): 5:37pm On Mar 09, 2016
The decision should be based on the status of both companies. While the music school might pay more, do you know how stable the position or company is? For the law firm, the salary is definitely low but the experience outweighs that and if it is a good firm with solid reputation then within a year or two, it can lead to greater heights. unfortunately the economic hardship in Nigeria makes it difficult to not look at the money so it is understandable gravitating towards the company with the bigger pay but job security is a factor one must not overlook!

Wailers must wail even if they don't know what they're wailing about, shame! The president is refusing to pour more money into the party due to the nation's economic hardship, this is a good move considering the party wasted 7bn during campaigns and are now struggling to raise funds. Would wailers have preferred the president inject more money into the party while the masses continue to suffer? It's better to give praise to whom it's due than to drown in a pool of baseless criticism!

They cannot enforce the law fully, but they will enforce it selectively to silence people who are saying things they don't want them to say.
They can only enforce it on businesses and well known individuals but social media is a powerful tool they have no control over. Companies can still expose news to the masses but they must do it through a 3rd party thereby no liability. Even in the USA with all the advanced tracking and monitoring, we still have dark groups leaking classified documents not to talk of Nigeria with no cyber intelligence grin grin grin
Politics › Re: Nigeria's Dangerous Social Media Bill Is Back. Help! by abbey621(m): 4:46pm On Mar 08, 2016
Let us all reason as intelligent people here instead of panicking. There's no way they can enforce such a law in Nigeria. In a country where the government cannot track it's citizens, does not know the actual number of people living in a certain demographic; how then can we expect such a law to be enforced. Anyone can go online and post without revealing their identity, this is easily done by tunneling, use of TOR, VPN and so on. I doubt if the Nigerian government even have a capable cybersecurity defense team, this is nothing but an act to instill fear into the heart of Nigerians and it's nothing short of bogus!

Abeg leave story! No guy can be this dumb, I repeat no guy can be this dumb! Now that I got that off my chest, it is clear that the problem is with you and not the girl. Based on what you wrote, you have an infatuation that has led to a pseudo feeling of love but my guy this is not love, it's torture! Now listen, your situation is like a engineer with all the knowledge in the world but cannot communicate it to the world, the result is ofutufete grin grin grin Listen young man, if a lady puts her hands on you then she no longer has the right to be called a lady and must be treated as any other human being. Next time she hits you, slap her back! Be a f*cking man and let her know softness is not stupidity, you said you've threatened to call of the wedding but she wasn't moved, this is a sign that the two of you shouldn't even be thinking of marriage at this time. The greatest advice I can give you is to call off the wedding and go back to the drawing board, if you truly love her you want to build a healthy relationship and not rush things, you want to build a strong foundation that can stand for years to come. It seems like you are ready for marriage but she's not, you want to help her get to where you are, this can only be accomplished if you acknowledge her weakness and invest time to build them into strengths. Last but not least, some people cannot be changed no matter how hard you try, have a contingency plan as I can assure you she has hers, keep in mind ratio of girls to guys in Nigeria is over 1.7 to 1 which means unless every guy decides to date multiple girls there will always be fish in the sea!

Anonymous to the people in the court room and the defendant /accused. Not to the Judge or jury.
This is why they ha e extended witness protection of it goes further. My point is still valid, the witness must identify themselves to the judge and jury if not a blind person. Or a colour blind person can testify they saw something when they never did.
Of course they have to identify to the judge but they are still considered anonymous. In the case of a jury, a witness that has chosen to be anonymous will not go in front of a jury, it contradicts the entire principle.

Nop in advanced countries you are put under witness protection . You must say your name and identify yourself .you may appear via video link but you must identify yourself. So what's the screen for?of they Identify themselves in court?
Stop saying what you don't know! There are many different types of witness protection measures not just video link and witnesses can remain completely anonymous to the general public if there's a case for it. If you read my post well, you'll notice what I said about testifying in the judge's chamber, the whole testimony can be made without anyone being in the court. This is a welcomed development. In advanced countries and where there is evidence of intimidation, witnesses are first screened by the judge with both counsel present in his chambers, this ascertains the credibility of the witnesses before they can testify under a screen or a shield.

Romance › Re: Relationships Are NOT Meant For Students by abbey621(m): 3:37pm On Mar 07, 2016
I seriously hate when people generalize! Student pass student and there's no correlation between having a relationship in school and education. In fact the right girl or guy can offer inspiration to any student just as the wrong girl or guy can be a nightmare but the greatest nightmare of all is loneliness. The OP assumes that all guys spend heavily on girls and girls do not spend heavily on guys. It is true that majority of girls are demanding but we also have some girls that can move mountains for their guys. In my school days frustration abound plenty with sometimes nothing to eat, if not for that girl starvation would have been the order of the day for most days and even though things didn't work out in the end, the memory alone gives me a satisfaction unlike no other, the experience gained helped me in future relationships and it's one of the ways I can proudly say school didn't pass through me rather I passed through school! In advanced countries people start dating from their teenage years and are able to get all the rubbish out of their system but in Nigeria our mental and physical development is so weak that we still see a 20 year old girl or guy as a child instead of a fully grown adult, this is why we see fully grown men and women behaving like children.

egobetatoday:
it is a well known fact that aisha was a child at marriage. Aisha was born in the yr 613/614AD and died aged 64 in the yr 678 ( 678 -614 = 64 yrs).she was bethroted to Mohammed by the yr 619AD, the marriage latter consummated in intimacy by 622 ('Mr scholar' that gives 9 yrs abi...622-613 = 9yrs). Ayesha was the only virgin married by your prophet mohammed, others were slaves, booties of war or widows lol, 11 of them in all, woww. Ayeesha/Ayisha was only 18yrs old when Mohammed died in the yr 632AD, was born in the yr 570 AD (632 - 622 = 10 yrs. They were actually married for only 9yrs , the difference being in months). she was reported to say in the hadith (the hadith is a source of guidance to the muslims, the quran is the verbatim instructions of allah to mohammed) :
"The Prophet engaged me when I was a girl of six (years). We went to Medina and stayed at the home of Bani- al-Harith bin Khazraj then I got ill and my hair fell down. Later on my hair grew (again) and my mother, Um Ruman, came to me while I was playing in a swing with some of my girl friends. She called me, and I went to her, not knowing what she wanted to do to me. She caught me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house. I was breathless then, and when my breathing became all right, she took some water and rubbed my face and head with it. Then she took me into the house. There in the house I saw some Ansari women who said, “Best wishes and Allah’s Blessing and a good luck.” Then she entrusted me to them and they prepared me (for the marriage). Unexpectedly Allah’s Apostle came to me in the forenoon and my mother handed me over to him, and at that time I was a girl of nine years of age.” {Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58, Number 234} . SHE SAID IT HERSELF OOO, LIAR!

ANOTHER EVIDENCE: Narrated 'Aisha:
that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death). (Sahih Al-Bukhari , Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64 ; see also Numbers 65 and 88). Others are evidence to thd fact yhat she wss 6/9 yrs are:
(Sahih Muslim, Book 008, Number 3309 ; see also 3310),
(Sunan Abu Dawud , Number 2116),
(Sunan Abu Dawud , Book 41, Number 4915 )

other prominent muslims who lived and worked with mohmmmed also documented same. i know you want to help Mohammed justify his love for children but you cant. There are other instances where he was interested in children like Ummul fadl. He was reported to have said if he is still alive when she grows up he will marry her... 'the apostle saw her (Ummu'lFadl) when she was a baby crawling before him and said, 'If she grows up and I am still alive I will marry her .' But he died before she grew up and Sufyan ibn al-Aswad ibn Abdu'l-Asad al-Makhzumi married her and she bore him Rizq and Lubab… (Ibn Ishaq, The Life of Muhammad: A Translation of Ishaq's Sirat Rasul Allah). well, i just had to help you know how 'scholarly' u have been in the quran. In my research i found out so many disgusting truths about your prophet too. they are in my archives anyway, will dish them out as long as u people keep claiming 'peaceful'. This discussion was meant for you to see that the muslims who behave the way they do have a 'good' example in your prophet mohammed. it wasnt meant to tarnish the image of islam or to convert you. You have alot of work in your hands now, remain in islam but try to correct the evils the muslims commit especially on non muslims. No body will find time to go to the quran and hadith if the muslims dont wrong people of other religion. For all we care you can worship a demon if you like! I dont want to hear from you again because obviously u are dull and u think other people are too. this is the information age not stone age. get yourself acquainted with facts before arguing SO THAT U WONT LOOK LIKE A FOOL.
You are the greatest fool of all, go back and read what I requested of you: Show me the verse in the Quran that states her exact age. I'm not asking you to quote Hadiths and some other useless rhetoric, show me the exact verse in the Quran. Remember you were the one that challenged me on the fact that Rebecca's exact age was not mentioned in the Bible and hence she couldn't have been 3 years of age when married.......so stick to the question professor!
