OP- I'm going to be very frank with you! As a child all the way till my first year in the university I was flogged often and mercilessly by my father and/or uncle. The worst thing with my father is that he didn't just stop at the flogging, he would deprive me of food, make me walk to school during my secondary school days and as if that was not bad enough, he wouldn't stop speaking bad about me everywhere he went. I've been embarrassed publicly many times by him and I often wondered if I was adopted or stolen. I grew a deep hatred for him but things changed all of a sudden when I decided to stay away and be a MAN! I decided to stay in school and hustle, I would cut grass, beg, even sold handouts just to survive. This single act of courage stopped all the maltreatment, he started seeing me more as independent and would often tell people that he doesn't know why I don't come to see him, he doesn't know why I don't ask for money or for him to pay my school fees. OP You have to be strong and claim your independence, it's not about fighting him or being rude, it's about removing that layer of dependency and being your own person. This is your father's point of view, he feeds you, clothes you and provides shelter for you, he basically owns you! This is the way most African parents think and until you prove that you are not a leech, he'll continue to maltreat you. I just laughed when I read your post because to most people 48 strokes seems brutal but to me I don chop am many times, I've been punched, kicked even bashed on the head with a kondo all by the same man but today I thank God, 15 years ago I couldn't even dream of a peaceful life and that peaceful life did not come until I let go of all the hatred. Free your mind young lad and look at the bigger picture!

Ignorance of the highest order! The Ayatollah is not the leader of ISIS, the Ayatollah is the supreme leader of Iran. In an attempt to paint the president as an extremist, you ignorant wailers can't even do proper research, how pathetic are your lives right now? Merely looking at the source alone makes me chuckle and before you all start screaming that the Ayatollah is an extremist, remember 90% of the world leaders have had a meeting with him at one point or the other, the Ayatollah is more powerful than most presidents or prime ministers in the Middle-East.

You said am a basta*d bah..... But at least am useful to the earth than you will ever be till you die...... Anyways I understand the frustration in you after studying Islamic education and having masters in theology.... At the end of the day the useless course can not get you a get job that pays above 10,000 naira a months.......

Brother get a life and stop being foolish.... But f you choose to continue in that path of foolishness and respond to my comments to the point of calling up my anger..... Then you may be needing a change of new phone or laptop
Funny you should mention business, my second degree is an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology. When you use the word "ALL" to mean 98% it shows pure ignorance! For example: 98% of Christians pay tithe therefore ALL Christians pay tithe. Can you see how illogical it sounds? That's your first lesson, free of charge, no need to thank me!

When I mentioned I minored in theology that does not mean the degree itself was in theology, you really need to expose yourself to global education, once again ignorance is to blame!

Lastly, if I resided in Nigeria, I would have been worried about your income joke but seeing as I probably make more money than you've seen in your entire lifetime in just a year, I'll let you slide grin grin grin

I can't tag Moslem religion as terrorist but Moslems should ask themselves this simple question... why is all terrorist groups Moslems and carry on attacks in de name of Islam? what impact has Moslem made to stop this people denting their religious image?...everyone who accuse islams as terrorist are not wrong until Moslems steps out seriously to put a stop to this Moslems are being recruited in this terror group easily because of their violent nature which comes from their Islamic teaching...
There is no need defending ur religion on this matter cos u Moslems has Moslem openly affected the peace of this world in de name of defending ur religion. u tag islam as religion of peace but any little thing,u people will Carry attack abduction killings in the name of defending ur religion which has made ur peace claim to be false...come out openly against islams terror s and prove the world that this groups are not fighting in
ur interest...God bless us all ...one love
I'm really getting tired of people not knowing what they are talking about. Where did you get the fact that all terrorist groups are Muslims?

Let me help you out here and outline the basics:

1. A Muslim is well versed in the Quran. You might speak Arabic but that does not make you a Muslim, many of these terrorist speak Arabic because they are from the Middle East but some of them have no religion or are pagans.

2. A Muslim does not battle or kill innocent people. This is one of the principles of the Islamic religion.

3. A Muslim killing other Muslims cannot be called a Muslim. ISIS and Boko Haram have killed more Muslims than most of you people will ever know but the media would have you believe they only kill Christians. A reporter recently interviewed a former ISIS recruit and discovered most of them couldn't even read the Quran, so tell me how can you call them Muslims? Could it be that your idea of a Muslim is anyone that can speak Arabic?

In conclusion, the Islamic world is in trouble because of misguided souls and extremism but real Muslims are speaking out against terrorism such as ISIS and Boko Haram. Many want peace but the truth is there's no reasoning with terrorist, they should be captured and disposed off in anyway possible as they are not only a danger to Christians but to everyone in the world!

Hey bastaaard what happened to the other 2%? Unlike some of you trolls copying verses out of the Quran to justify your hatred, I actually minored in theology for my third degree; apart from that coming from parents with mixed religion has helped me understand more about the different perspectives. If a woman can't cook, wash or iron, what exactly differentiates her from a chick on the streets. Well I guess there's a difference between a woman and a wife. Any wife worth anything would know how to cook, wash and/or iron, you might not be the best at it, you might not do it all the time but knowing you've got those essential skills makes you more than just a piece of flesh! Thank Goodness with modernization, most people take the stress out of cooking by going to restaurants or buying food outside maybe once or twice a week. With modernization we have washing machine and dryers, so no excuse!

What am saying is that Islam is the only people who can stop all this madness.... In as much as they still follow the teaching of the Qur'an the same will be case

[b]What do you mean by that Islam is peaceful when the peaceful Qur'an encourages terrorism?.....

[/b]Do you ever wished it used the context "terrorists"....

When it had over 109 verses that promote killing for the drunk rapist Mohamed.... Bro I have Islamic study in medina and in Jerusalem during my industrial design with IDF.... See some verses

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...

but if they desist, then lo! Allah is forgiving and merciful. And fight them until there is no more Fitnah [disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allah] and worship is for Allah alone. But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zalimun (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)" (Translation is from the Noble Quran) The verse prior to this (190) refers to "fighting for the cause of Allah those who fight you" leading some to believe that the entire passage refers to a defensive war in which Muslims are defending their homes and families. The historical context of this passage is not defensive warfare, however, since Muhammad and his Muslims had just relocated to Medina and were not under attack by their Meccan adversaries. In fact, the verses urge offensive warfare, in that Muslims are to drive Meccans out of their own city (which they later did). Verse 190 thus means to fight those who offer resistance to Allah's rule (ie. Muslim conquest). The use of the word "persecution" by some Muslim translators is disingenuous (the actual Arabic words for persecution - "idtihad" - and oppression - a variation of "z-l-m" - do not appear in the verse). The word used instead, "fitna", can mean disbelief, or the disorder that results from unbelief or temptation. This is certainly what is meant in this context since the violence is explicitly commissioned "until religion is for Allah" - ie. unbelievers desist in their unbelief.

Quran (2:244) - "Then fight in the cause of Allah, and know that Allah Heareth and knoweth all things."

Quran (2:216) - "Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." Not only does this verse establish that violence can be virtuous, but it also contradicts the myth that fighting is intended only in self-defense, since the audience was obviously not under attack at the time. From the Hadith, we know that this verse was narrated at a time that Muhammad was actually trying to motivate his people into raiding merchant caravans for loot.

Quran (3:56) - "As to those who reject faith, I will punish them with terrible agony in this world and in the Hereafter, nor will they have anyone to help."

Don't forget ... The slogan... Where is Allah's paradise .... It's in shadows of the swords.

Stop the nonsense... You know what your religion teachings and you know they are bad ......
It's quite unfortunate that the ones claiming to be intelligent are actually the most ignorant of all. I would have loved to pick apart all your points but it would be a waste of time. So I'll just pick on two:

What do you mean by that Islam is peaceful when the peaceful Qur'an encourages terrorism?.....

How does the Quran encourage terrorism? Are you referring to the violent references in the Quran? Is it any different from the ones in the Bible? I suggest you take a look at the Bible reading the old and new testament before thinking one religion is better than the other!

Fighting is ordained for Muslims in order to defend themselves and their rights, as well as the rights of others. You have foolishly taken a verse out of context in order to justify your ill-conceived premise. The fighting ordained by God in the Qur’an is the fighting to establish justice and security in the land, and this is a duty upon all human beings. We will always hope for peace, but we must realize that without justice, freedom, rights and equity, peace will never be able to survive. You have failed to keep in mind that this was written at a time much different from nowadays, much like the Old testament of the Bible.

Quran (2:191-193) - "And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah [disbelief or unrest] is worse than killing...

Before u start reading the Quran u should know the background of that surah, for example in this chapter, Allah ordered to kill the non-believers; you should know when this surah was revealed. It was revealed when they were being attacked by The Quraish (enemy) and they were brutally attacking Muslims when they were praying, torturing them, killing innocent Muslims, etc. Allah told them to defend themselves by attacking the Quraish. This was completely for self defense. For example, If someone is going to attack and kill you, would you just sit there and do nothing or defend yourself? A lot of verses in the Quran were meant for that particular period of time just the same way some verses in the Bible are just not practicable in the modern world.

You and the terrorists have one thing in common and that is ignorance! They kill because of their ignorance and you hate from your own ignorance!

Ki lo de! Look at the comments, I bet most of them didn't read the entire article. This move affects the smugglers more than the common man.

1. You can continue using your generators.

2. If you buy a generator, you are not going to get arrested, only smugglers with large quantities are affected.

3. The order does not prohibit locally made generators.

4. As time goes by, it makes sense as we would have less pollution (As long as the electricity situation improves).

5. People seriously need to focus more on inverters and solar energy, this is the future and the future is now!

I could go on and on but the truth is those small generators are constituting a nuisance and the main cabals behind the poor power situation in the countries are the main sponsors of the importation of generators. This move affects them more than the common man, I only wish the ban can be extended to big generators too!

Leadership starts from the top, private companies, media and the government should have been the ones to encourage the display of solidarity whenever such events happen in Africa especially Nigeria. Being in a relationship with a woman requires great maturity and ability to think before acting. The article makes it seem as if most Nigerian internet users have homosexual tendencies when in reality most Nigerians detest homosexuality.

Wow! Didn't know it took a rocket science degree to know how to use Youtube.

Stay there. When you can watch the video in 140p quality even 0g would work. grin

Source? According to this source and some others, we should have over 70 million users.

www.internetworldstats.com/stats1.htm

And your point is?
This is the problem I have with people like you, you see but you can't comprehend! Don't you know the difference between internet users and unique internet users? Unique internet users means a different user with a different device. The source you provided is another example of manipulated Data. As a user if I connect to the internet using my phone, laptop and tablet, it would count the Data has 3 users when in reality it should be one. Also, there is an even greater difference when we factor in mobile users, those who only access the internet from their phone. So you can see we are talking about two different things. My point is Data can easily be manipulated, learn to comprehend instead of just reading!

You just yarned eloquent dust.
This sociological research has been carried out and validated.
Your opinion is just what it is...... Shyte.

Oh BTW, before you go on your perverted society tirade, you should probably go check the so called society of morals in the world religious countries and see how they ccompare with Western civilization like Norway and Sweden
Validated by which source? Skewed and manipulated Data is one of the reason 3rd world countries continue to remain slaves to the more advanced countries. A reasonable person understands the points I brought out from my own little analysis but then again from what you wrote you don't seem reasonable. For goodness sake you think Norway and Sweden are not religious countries, you are truly f*cked!

You think the statistics are skewed? Why don't we use youtube as an example. Type "popular on YouTube Nigeria" on the youtube search box and see how many porn videos you'd get. Now look for another country that could compete with that amount.
Okay genius, how many Nigerians know how to use Youtube? How many Nigerians can actually stream videos on Youtube considering most people are still on 2G/3G mobile network? We have less than 10 million unique mobile users in Nigeria compared to for example a country like USA with over 100 million unique users. Next time you go on Youtube type in strippers, freaks and twerking, let me know what you find.

I challenge the OP or the source to bring out the same statistic for countries like France, USA and so on, you would be shocked to find out that the more advanced the country is, the higher the Data. I don't know about the OP but common sense would tell you that there are more porn watchers in the USA than Nigeria. Simple fact: There are more people with laptops and phones in the USA than Nigeria, the internet connection is also a lot faster. Now mix that with a society where outing one's sexuality is often encouraged and what you'll have is a very perverted society.

In 2014, the popularity of Nigerian Google searches for pornography (relative to other searches) on a scale of 0 to 100 was above 80. (Google ranks as 100 any item that constitutes 10% or more of all searches in a country.) The number of average monthly searches by volume was 165,000 and the States with the greatest popularity for porn searches were: Lagos, Oyo, Delta, Rivers, Cross River and Abuja.
Look at the bold part of the quote above and let it be the premise of this discussion. The statistic is based on relativity to other searches from the same country. Could this high ratio be due to the fact that majority of Nigerians hardly make use of Google search? Could it be that we have more people focused on social media than actually looking for answers on the net or could it be that as a society we are still naive in regards to what homosexuality and pornography means and the only way to educate ourselves is to search for answers on the internet? Anyway anyhow, the statistic is skewed and there's no cause for alarm, Nigeria still remains one of the more cultured countries in the world and certainly not as wayward as the more advanced countries out there!
