Nihilist:Is your salary meant for you surviving 20 days out of 30 days or is it supposed to be enough for you to get through a whole month? Dividing by 20 days is not reasonable. I think you are missing the main point of the OP which is one should not rest comfortably on the proceeds from a salaried job, it would be very wise to add an additional source of income if one is to be truly wealthy! |
No ideology is worth wasting your life for! I repeat no ideology is worth wasting your life for! You do not block a bridge meant as a national asset and still call your protest peaceful. At the same time shooting stray bullets into a massive crowd like that is plain murder! For goodness sake JTF could have used tear gas or even plastic bullets, now lives are lost, dreams were cut short and so many families drowning in tears. Is Nnamdi Kanu worth the price of all those lives lost? How come we didn't see the IPOB leaders leading the protest? When will Nigerian youths stop being scape goats? |
A person who is intellectual is completely different from a smart person. Most of us don't realize this simple mistake. A woman intellectually brilliant than her peers might find it difficult to settle down but a smart woman will always reason her way to the altar. E.G- An intellectual woman- SAT score of 1950, I.Q score 125 or more, First class undergraduate degree, Suma Cum Laude Graduate degree would definitely not want to settle with an average joe! A smart woman- graduated university with 2.2, had 3 different boyfriends in school after serving NYSC became more religious and because she's got a hot body and appealing personality is about to be married to a rich oil tycoon, engineer or politician. Life is all about perspectives! |
The answer is simple. Ask yourself: Do I want to be a technicians/statisticians or do I want to manage technicians/statisticians? An Msc in Statistics limits you to that field and we all know the job market in Nigeria, if you are not flexible you are left behind. An MBA in Data Analytics or even Data Informatics will put you way ahead of your peers but rather than just thinking of graduate degrees, why don't you consider certifications such as SAS, CCAH and so on? |
I smell propaganda. Bruce Fein is a reputable person and I'm familiar with some of his important contribution to the United States' political and economical scenes. However, I can't help but to be concerned about this article since this is the first time Mr. Fein has ever interfered in the politics 1of another nation. The article made references to the President seeking assistance from the USA but fails to acknowledge many other countries that have received the same assistance and no debacle was made about their political situations. This leaves me to believe that a Nigerian is involved in some way or the other and this is nothing more than a cheap political stunt! |
This is not only an insult to the intelligence of Nigerians, it is an insult to doctors worldwide! To suggest people get injected with cancers by the same professionals who have sworn an oath to save lives is ludicrous at best! The article offers no proof whatsoever and I see it as a ploy to promote patronization of local doctors more than anything else. Instead of them to be focused at improving healthcare in the nation, they would rather bash foreign healthcare practices. This is my main concern, why the secrecy? Why should the elite not provide his or her name? If the story is true why hide behind anonymity? |
buchilino:Was that 19 Billion ever validated? Was the 19 Billion in the reserve or at Abacha's backyard? What I believe happened was that a lot of the looting was done by Abacha's family and those in prominent positions at that time, till date Abacha's family remains the wealthiest in Nigeria. |
buchilino:I doubt it, Abdusallam stole physical cash or funds and whatever was left of the already devastated treasury but GEJ's administration goes far beyond that. We might not really know the full extent of the damages until years after. If we combine the female thief, Dasuki and the other scandals during GEJ's administration, I'm sure we would be hovering close to $50 Billion dollars, Abdusallam can only wish he stole quarter of that! |
At 22 years of age, the last thing you need in your life is an obsessed woman or one seeking a blood covenant. Such a woman lacks religious conviction and is definitely not mature enough to understand the consequences of her actions. You did the right thing by letting her go and anyone who said you should go back does not care about your safety! Now listen up young man! Where are you in your academic pursuits? If you are a graduate, have you started working? If yes, have you saved up a nice amount to be able to take care of 2 or more? If no then slow down and enjoy your life, you don't need a serious relationship till at least 2 to 3 years from now. At 22, I can bet almost anything that you don't know what love is, you certainly don't need any girl putting undue pressure on you; this is how many young people of nowadays get into trouble. Slow down, enjoy your life and make sure you focus more on making something of yourself! |
Everyone knows the last six months of GEJ's presidency were the most corrupt in the history of Nigeria. This is not news! Watch soon the accused will claim one health condition or another. How I wish we were still in the military era, all of them death by firing squad but instead we must rely on a weak judiciary system....rubbish! |
DevilhimseIf:Another product of a failed Nigerian educational system. |
seunmsg:You keep mentioning Bill Cosby, I hope you know the United States' Constitution is quite different from the Nigerian Constitution. I also hope that you are aware of how serious rape allegation is and why we must move from sentiments and look at all things from the legal point of view. 17 is not considered a minor according to our Constitution when it comes to sexual relations. |
seunmsg:Obviously you are speaking from an ignorant point of view. Show me the part in the Nigerian constitution where it states that a 17 year old girl is considered a minor! Even in advanced countries we have what is called a statue of limitation, 2008 to 2015 is a long time, unfortunately the girl in question did not speak up at the proper time and hence her accusations are worth less than they would have been in 2008. |
sinistermind:Once again you are talking like a kid! You really need to take a little bit more time and learn the features on Facebook. |
sinistermind:Would you keep shut! Assassination of character is a very serious tragedy and her story does not hold water due to the fact that she was a willing participant. Up till now most people were on her side but thanks to this thread, we are at least given a chance to consider the other side of the story. Look at the bold part of your comment, are you telling me that you are not aware that Facebook stores your chat or message history? I have some messages dating back to 2009. |
fx45:Do you think everyone in the military comes from a poor background? You want to tell me all of the families who lost a member in the military are unable to speak to the media? Till we start fighting for ourselves in this country nothing will ever change! |
Aude:Quick question: did you read my post and you did not comprehend or are you just plain dull? If all you took from my comments is that I'm asking her to keep quiet then you surely represent another failed product of the Nigerian educational system. People get raped all the time, that's not new but I've yet to see a case where someone gets raped repeatedly and keeps going back for more! A gun was never held to her head and judging from her own write-up, she's not a dullard. This leaves me to conclude that she was a willing participant in the beginning and did not know how to get out when things got out of hand. If you bothered to calm down and assimilate my words, you would realize that she has close to zero evidence against the suspected rapists and as such her case is basically suspicious at best. Let me ask you a simple question, what does she hope to accomplish by bringing things out now? Pity, publicity, manipulation? This is why I advised her to let things go and move on, it would have been better if she came forward when the incidence happened but in a lawless country like Nigeria she's fighting nothing but her own shadow! |
This still doesn't change the fact that you put yourself in the situation! I hate to be frank but no 17 year old child gets f*cked in the car multiple times, gets maltreated so bad and keeps going back for more. You mentioned he had multiple pix of your unclothedness and that he might display them for the public but is that really worse than getting raped multiple times, all the things you mentioned such as anxiety medication and suicide attempt are not new to me, most folks in America suffer from one anxiety or the other. Perhaps it was your youthful ignorance or maybe the lack of proper home training but sister you were just as much as a participant as the guys involved. If you truly wanted to move on from this nightmare, you would stop publicizing it over and over, just let it go! From what I've read from you so far, it seems you are still very much hurt and very vindictive. Seek more psychological/spiritual help to cleanse yourself completely as this path you've chosen to follow will only end in disaster! And please don't get defensive when people question your integrity, even in the USA, a rape case not reported, with little to no evidence or witness will often result in the case being thrown out. The choice is yours, continue on your vindictive path and score some cheap publicity points or move on with your life and be progressive! |
The number one question everyone should be asking is about consent! She had sex multiple times with the same guy over and over again, she kept coming back for more. She sounds like an intelligent person so she had the opportunity to run away or report the situation immediately. Before anyone give an excuse such as fear or emotional dependency, let's examine the wordings of her twitter rant. She used the word f*cked numerous times and gave explicit details of the whole situation, a psychological analysis would reveal imaginative attribution, the girl was never raped! She was handled roughly but kept coming back for more, she was never kidnapped or a gun held to her head. Another consideration here is the fact that a 17 year old who would willingly have sex in a car multiple times and wander off with a 25 year old speaks of her questionable character. Is she an orphan? Can't imagine someone with good parents disappearing with a stranger. All I'm saying here is you don't go back for more unless you are enjoying it, plain & simple! |
HURIWA said it had no concrete evidence to link Dalong to the membership of any of the campus cults but expressed strong reservations that his choice of dressing in symbolism and tangible costumes closely related to what some of these dreaded groups wear was worryingly traumatic. No evidence yet a call to the president to put him to order. Clowns! |
What's with all this nonsense about summoning PMB? Are we really that ignorant in this country? I think there should be a law that all secondary school students study the Nigerian Constitution, maybe then we wouldn't have so many ignorant youths on and off Nairaland! |
2rutalk1:You're an idiot, what concerns me with GEJ, I understand you are still pained by the your brother's loss during the election but that doesn't mean you should just yarn anyhow! If there was a cover up, let the families speak out, gone are the days of suffering in silence, let the families expose the government if this is true! |
One thing always baffles me about Nigeria. People are dying serving their country, even if the government tried to do a cover up, what about the families? 105 +34 deaths and the families kept quiet? This is strange and makes me believe that it's all just an hoax. If FFK truly wanted to sound patriotic, he should find some of these families and let them vent locally and internationally, that is the only to shine the light on this matter otherwise he's just a noisemaker! |
yanabasee:Hahahahaha.....pathetic! I applaud your creativity ![]() |
yanabasee:E don dey pain am! So you agree that the dollar hiked instead of being steady as you first proclaimed, case closed dummy ![]() |
yanabasee:Of all the dummies on Nairaland, you are the worst of all! You've managed to prove my point in your miserable attempt to sound wise. In 2008 Naira was in the 130s, in 2011 in the 150s, in 2013 in the 180s and 2014 in the 190s and above according to bank rate, is this what you called steady? I pity the mugu that paid your school fees because you are obviously a product of a failed educational system! |
If you noticed carefully, you'll see that it's not really that Naira was strong but more about dollar being weak due to the USA experiencing a recession, even currencies like the Australian dollar and Canadian dollar(Countries with poor economy during the 80s) held their value against the dollar. Not until the second year of Ronald Reagan's presidency did the U.S dollar rebound, coincidentally the Naira began losing its value around the same period from 1984 t0 1993, the Naira witnessed the most dramatic loss in value followed by 2011 to present date. |
Blueeyedboi:Ignorance! Who is the petroleum minister, who is the president? The same person right! Can you summon one without the order, didirin! |
Awon ode, which nation do you see Congress summoning a sitting president and he or she actually shows up? |
Fake letterhead, how can the paper be straight yet the wordings be slanted? Either they typed it in a hurry or this is the work of a mediocre desktop publisher. |
Oh, misty eye of the mountain below. Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls. And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke. Keep watching over Durin's sons. If this is to end in fire, then we should all burn together. Watch the flames climb high into the night. Calling out father oh, stand by and we will watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side. And if we should die tonight then we should all die together. Raise a glass of wine for the last time Calling out father oh! Prepare as we will watch the flames burn auburn on the mountain side. Desolation comes upon the sky! Now I see fire! Inside the mountain. I see fire! Burning the trees. And I see fire! Hollowing souls. I see fire, blood in the breeze. And I hope that you remember me! There was a country once called Turkey.....R.I.P |
