Virgin has been laying off staffs for a long time, not only Nigerian staff. Yes they are having a difficult time due to economic problems but it is not specific to Nigeria. Yes some Nigerian staffs have been laid off and they are reducing their exposure to the amount of investments from Nigeria but they've been doing that since 2013, so why act as if it is Buhari's administration that is causing the recession?

The number air-hostesses fired were about 20 and in 2014, the airline had closed down their Nigerian call centre and let go of all the Nigerian staff.

Owner, Richard Branson had at some point said he was weary about doing business in Nigeria, however it is not certian if that is the main reason for the recent layoff.Virgin Atlantic Airline Sacks All Nigerian Cabin Crew
Fake journalism! The owner made a statement long ago before the incidence, it has nothing to do with the affected staff. Also to those commenting, what has Buhari got to do with this?
Crime › Re: Rapists On The Loose In Ekiti by abbey621(m): 2:02pm On Nov 06, 2015
The sad truth is that in most cases of rape the victim also played a major part in it. For example, meeting a guy for the first time in his flat or house at a late time in the day with a short dress on. This is madness! Another example, parents working all day, left their 13 year old at home, the neighbor loves to visit frequently and spends plenty of time with the 13 year old, this is called an enabling environment(one of the symptoms that leads to abuse). The final example, the love of money by most Nigerian women created more dangers for them than they will ever know. In the Nigerian context some women are leeches, playing one guy to another. Sooner or later, these women would found themselves in a compromising situation. The unfortunate thing here is that most of them cannot even report being raped due to the circumstances. In conclusion, stop putting yourself in dangerous situations and learn to defend thyself! A simple tool such as a pepper spray or a stun gun can save you from a rapist.

Awon ole, see their mouth shouting our 5k, useless goats! A reasonable minded person would never have believed that a country as broke as Nigeria can afford to give unemployed youths 5k monthly stipends, even countries like the USA or the UK don't do such. There is a system based on merit and monitoring before you can receive welfare. In this country we don't like to use our brain, rather we love mouthing off on internet and shouting PDP, APC, Biafra, Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa and so on. We should be demanding end to Boko Haram, improved electricity and good roads. We should be demanding more jobs and a lower unemployment rate, better education system and so on. Buhari is not going to turn Nigeria into USA in six months, even if you give him 6 years it won't be enough but we would gladly settle for a safer country with better economic conditions, we won't need 5k free gift every month when companies are ready to invest and hire more Nigerians, when we have stable electricity and Boko Haram is a thing of the past; all these are achievable under Buhari and the APC led government.
Politics › Re: 'Buhari, Bring Back Our Roads' - Tayo Ogunbiyi (Punch) by abbey621(m): 2:30pm On Nov 05, 2015
So it is Buhari's fault that the roads are like that. In six months, he should have waved his magical broom and the roads will be like el-dorado. You people are sick upstairs! Go and check out the amount of road projects contracted out by the GEJ administration and compare it to the status of those roads. This is the corruption we are talking about, zero maintenance, quack contractors and so on. We all want everything fixed but where's the money exactly. Remove subsidy, some of you people would grumble. Increase taxes, most of you people don't pay taxes. Decrease the size of his cabinet, some of you would continue shouting, no Ministers = bad economy. When it rains most roads are subjected to erosion because the draining system is clogged up from the pollution caused by most of you. It is clear to see that Nigeria's problem is not the government or politicians, the problem is the indiscipline of its people. Maybe by the end of four years Buhari will actually bring most federal roads from poor to good condition but the priority right now stabilizing the economy from the past few years of stealing is not corruption!

The only witness present is the wife and unless she testifies against her husband, the case is dead on arrival! The only thing which scares me about the Nigerian judicial system is that the woman that was allegedly slapped could have connections in high places thus bringing justice in her favor.

The victim , Chigozie Ezeanyagu died at a private hospital on Tuesday morning where he was admitted after he slumped .
P .M . NEWS gathered that the late Ezeanyagu gave the money to his friend based in the United States to send him some spare parts for sale at Ladipo market.
The friend reported collected the money and traveled to United State of America, USA, with a promise that he will send the goods as he requested .
R.I.P! But wait o, since when does the U.S serve as an attractive place for spare parts, one would think China and some European countries are way better options. Lesson for all, even when conducting business with friends and family, always do your homework!

Is there anything like a perfect man? Even if you present Jesus to the ladies of nowadays they'll complain that he doesn't spend money on them, he's too blunt and honest. If you present the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), they'll call him a womanizer, they'll say he's too strict and so on. What about Bill Gates? They'll cheat behind him because they feel he's a nerd and not very sociable. The perfect man would remain a dream nothing more, nothing less! Ladies take that less than a perfect man and make a perfect relationship out of it......shikena!

If I told you who hit me the most in my younger days it was actually my mother. My father did not hit me but I was afraid of him more. It's nor about emotions. You as a parent are responsible for your children's discipline. If you can't do that then don't become a parent because it's not supposed to be a teacher that should install discipline into your child. When your child leave that teachers class then what?
We all know in most household it is the father that instills most of the discipline. Your case is just a rarity especially in the Nigerian context. When I compare the education system of the 1980s and 1990s to what we have today, I'm very shocked! We all know it takes a community to raise a child, if a neighbor sees your child doing something wrong, they would scold him or her and if that doesn't work they'll report. The same guidelines goes for teachers and administrators. Look at Japan and other countries where teachers are allowed to discipline children, you would see a higher rate of intelligence and work ethics. Societies like the USA where teachers are restricted showcase a declining score on standardized tests and work ready professionals. Like I said earlier, emotions run deep with women and it is very understandable but to think the discipline of a child should be left to the parents alone is absolutely ridiculous!
Celebrities › Re: Damilola Attoh: “Any Teacher That Touches My Son Will Face The Devil” by abbey621(m): 5:53pm On Nov 03, 2015
This is why every household should have a strong man. These women are incapable of raising a child properly. These women are often emotional and unable to tell the difference between a teacher disciplining a student or one abusing them.

Let's take the Nigerian sentiments out of it. No sane man would remove his shoes on his wedding day, it just doesn't make sense. I'm assuming the bride told him before the day and this is the only reason I would blame the man. He should have let the woman know that he cannot comply with the rules and they should have found an alternative. Very similar to my story except no pregnancy or kids. Brought her from 9ja on a student visa just to make life easier for her. Spent over $10k on school fees and girl just made my life hell for six good months. Things we guys do for love, lucky for me I was way smarter than she was and also very lucky. I set a trap for her and gathered evidence of her affair with a guy back home, including chat discussions, nude pix sent and money transfers. Thank God it was student visa and not green card, thank God it was money lost and not life lost or kids involved. She ran away before I came home from work and even though I was saddened by the events that took place, it was more of a blessing in disguise. The unfortunate incident led me to my wife and I couldn't be happier! For all guys abroad thinking of bringing a girl from home to abroad, shine your eyes and do a comprehensive background investigation; these girls are not smiling o!

Omg! How do u even make up these thingshuh
There was never a time humanity recorded decline in population as a result of homosexuality. Infact the idea alone is preposterous and has no logical backing whatsoever! Jeez! How did u even get thathuh

And more importantly it seems u have backpedaled your former statement. Suddenly reproduction is no longer a commandhuh Lolz grin I thot you were the one who said the reason for human existence is to reproduce? Why talk with both sides of your mouth nw? U emphatically argued that God created humans to reproduce and thats why u feel homosexuality is a choice. Now that your argument has fallen apart, you are now backtracking to say its no longer a command? Well if its not a command, then that means there are those God created who may not want/need to reproduce. Which brings me to the same conclusion that reproduction is not for everyone and so homosexuality is validated!

Lets see how u twist this again grin
Typical of average Nigerian, when you have no point you then result to rhetoric. Show me where I said the world population declined because of homosexuality? What you would find me saying all along is that the population of homosexual couples is increasing and this is a fact! You would also find me saying with the increase in population this will eventually lead to extinction as they cannot reproduce! I'm really tired of you trying to justify yourself here by twisting my words! I've said all along that one of the reason we are here on earth is to reproduce, surely common sense would tell you that is not the only reason! If you bothered to read one of the holy books you would find out about free will and how as humans we make our own choices in life and which coincidentally supports my argument that homosexuality is by choice and not something God created. I even went as far as to use the example of success and how God wants everyone to succeed in life but some people will not. Please when you have solid facts to back up your stance let me know, otherwise go and sleep!

There is no dramatic increase. People are just more open about it. Besides a lot of gay people in the past were killed instantly. Remember that gays are literally 0.0001 percent of the world population. I can bet my hot lips that you have never met any gay person in your life. 99 percent of the world is straight. Our population keeps rising daily.
With all the kids that are being born in poverty and are sold in Nigeria, i'd prefer gay men/women to adopt them if it means they can live a better life.
Most people born are still straight. Gay people are not ending the world.
Lady shut up! My former boss is an homosexual and I live in a city where homosexuals are increasing in numbers daily. While I don't support their lifestyle and would never encourage it, I do acknowledge their existence. This does not stop me from exposing the dangers associated with homosexuality!

You have faulted your own conclusion. The fact that there are"abnormalities" negates your argument that God wants EVERYONE to reproduce. And if not everyone is meant to reproduce, then then the existence of homosexualism is justified!
And secondly, your extinction theory is ridiculous. For the simple fact that not everyone is gay!
I'm sure you are well educated and know the difference between want and commands. God wants everyone to be successful but there are some who will never attain success, so does this mean that God supports failure? You can see how laughable your statement sounds! Furthermore, extinction might sound impossible but compare the population of homosexual individuals from the 1900s to now and you'll see a startling increase. Now tell me since these homosexual couples cannot reproduce they end up adopting or surrogacy, what philosophy would an homosexual couple pass on to those children in terms of relationships? It's simple they'll encourage homosexuality and this will lead to a decline in heterosexual couples and ultimately moving us towards extinction. This is my analysis, it is a possibility not a certainty and definitely not ridiculous!

Apparently u didnt get my point. Let me reiterate it for u more clearly: God didnt create everyone to reproduce! Thats my point. Not everone is bound to give birth or be a parent. For some its a physical impossibility and others are precluded by reason of religion or culture. So u simply cant validate human existence by reason of reproduction
And further if we must rely on your reproduction theory, the fact that gays go on to adopt/surrogacy simply tells u that these are not a people that will ordinarily choose not to reproduce, as it were. Therefore it has to be biological
And you are still not getting it! I'm not arguing with you that God created everyone to reproduce, NO! What I'm saying is one of our purpose on this earth is to multiply and reproduce, it is one but not the only one! However I am letting you know that infertile or barren people are abnormalities of the human race and not a characteristic of the entire human race. Homosexuality on the other hand is not an abnormality, all homosexuals cannot reproduce, it is a fact! You keep making my point for me, even you can see that the problem is biological. They are not meant to reproduce therefore it is not a natural relationship and if more humans go towards that type of reasoning then we are heading towards extinction. I refuse to believe that God's plan for us is extinction!

blackpanda:
You jumbled up different issues just in order to arrive at your predetermined conclusion. Also your statistics are wrong. Infertility is not as rare as u think. Also, if u say God created everyone to reproduce, then u must tell us who created those who cant? Even in the bible there are cases of infertility...then there is the case of reverend fathers/sisters/monks. are u saying God didnt create them too or they are also part of the "abnormalities"??

Besides, look around u, the world is not suffering from population problem. Rather population explosion and how to manage the meager resources is man's biggest problem!

So your reproduction theory does not hold water.
It is you who is trying to make a point where there's none! I laugh at your reverend fathers/sisters/monks example, do you want to know why I laugh? It is simple, you've indirectly proved my point that homosexuality is by choice because those people you mentioned chose to live their life that way. You also mentioned population problem, so are you advocating that homosexuality is a plan aimed at reducing the world's population? No my friend the world's problem is not overpopulation but greed, we have more than enough resources! Enough of this dribble dabble, if my statistic is wrong, show me proof! In a world of 6 or 7 Billion, are you saying we have more than 6 million barren humans? Once again we are meant to reproduce those who can't are abnormalities , God created all humans but he didn't create Adam to mate with Adam, he created Adam and supplied him with Eve, case closed!

No I'm not talking about abnormalities here, look at the percentage of people who are infertile or barren and compare it to those who aren't. I would say we have less than a 1 in 1000 ratio. But for gays it is 100% ratio, how do you go into something with a 100% chance of failure, once again it is not natural! I'm once again directing you to the holy books as a source of reference, until somebody proves to me that those references were by mistake or in error, I will continue to believe that one of God's main purpose for putting us on this planet is to grow and multiply.

And I think it is unfair to say people chose to be gay. How can any sane man chose a lifestyle that puts his life at danger and that of his family, if he has a choice? People make it seem like these gay men just wake up one morning and say 'yea, I want to be gay' and they turn a switch in their heads, and bam! They are gay. Why don't you try being gay for a day...You can't, cos it is not a choice.
Do you have scientific proof that it is not a choice but compulsion? I know one thing for sure, if God created them that way then for sure he would have made it possible for them to reproduce naturally. They can't reproduce, they battle so many health complications and so on, So tell me what would happen if majority of the human race decided to be gay? After all it is in all the holy books that we were put on this earth to multiply or was that just written by mistake?

Its rather unfortunate.

I weep for the country. Buhari was the best man for the job during the last election.
There was no doubt about it.
From my abode that morning, I jumped for joy as I sang d national anthem with INEC on TV as the old General was declared.

I said to myself, welcome to a new Nigeria.

Fast forward to now, its not just appalling, its disappointing, its shameful.
Buhari has been more than useless, to imagine this was the first president I ever prayed for in my life. I believed so much in him but not now. He is a disgrace, and has betrayed all those who trusted him.

Don't quote me and say I shouldn't be insulting adults or d president.
Cos if obasanjo was called all sorts, GEJ was labelled anyhow, nothing stops us from tagging PMB as deserved.

Let's leave trabalism or politics out. Buhari so far has Failed!

Two questions for Mr. Photography President.

1) If you appoint me for a position and I take 6months like u have taken to set up my cabinet with no immediate momemtum and/or result, won't you boot me out?

2) We know Nigeria was really messed up before you came in, but we expected that you Mr. President knew that but when you know you couldnt perform, why did you force yourself on us?

Yes you forced yourself when you kept coming out and even cried on national TV when you last lost.

My pain, anger and worry is, if d election was to take place again, I will still go for you Mr. Retired General despite how old and useless you have proven to be, so the question is, which way Nigeria? cry shey none of us get sense ni? Haba mana!
I'm sorry but I have to disagree with you, what's your basis for saying he has failed? You mentioned not putting his cabinet in place for six month and I tell you this, what difference would it have made? Don't tell me you actually believe Ministers and advisers will tackle the Boko Haram problem, solve the economic crisis and put us on the path to El-dorado? Am I disappointed in Buhari? Yes I am and the reason why I am disappointed is I was expecting him to be authoritative like the military era. I failed to realize the many obstacles facing him with our democratic form of governance. Buhari has been busy weeding out the stench in government and this means negotiating where and when appropriate and putting his foot down when needed. In May 2015, it was about 260 naira to 1 dollar, what is the rate now? The CBN directives put in place has stopped the crumbling of the Naira. You mention that he's a failure but could they be any bigger failure than the previous administration which we gave almost 6 years to move us in the right direction. Perhaps our expectations are too high, perhaps most of us don't really understand how complex it is to run the Nigerian government. Is Buhari a messiah, hell no! Is Buhari going to solve all our problems? Definitely not! Is Buhari doing the best he can? I believe so! I for one will tag him as a success if he accomplishes half of his campaign promises during his tenure. If he conquers Boko Haram, makes the Naira stronger, improves the unemployment rate and stabilizes electricity. If he can do these things, I will vote for him again come 2019!!!!!

The truth however is that we southerners are busy fighting ourselves, while our common enemy (the northerners) are busy feasting on our division and dealing heavy blows on us. Our emancipation will only come the day we decide to unite together against the forces of the north.
Out of the gibberish you typed, I only had to look at the bold words to understand what you are suffering from. I am a Nigerian, I do not see people from my country has enemies. Be it Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa. The majority of my Yoruba brothers and sisters understand this, we do not feel marginalized, we do not play the victim card. We do not go to another man's land and call it no man's land! Like I said in one of the previous threads, the wealthy Igbos don't complain of marginalization or see the Northerners as enemies, for the wealthy Igbo business man or woman, any money is good money regardless of where it comes from but it is those who have nothing that would see their fellow countrymen as enemies.

Look at most of the comments, is it a coincidence that it is coming from a particular tribe or set of people? The same people will now be wondering why everyone is afraid to associate with them or why they have been marginalized. They expect the Yorubas to get angry and wage a useless war, they prefer division instead of unity and would sell their own parents to make money.
