BusinessRe: Ghanaian Government Closes Nigerian Businesses In Accra. by acidtalk: 10:59pm On Jul 06, 2012
* first and foremost can someone read thes second paragraph were it said "are operating IlLEGAL businesses".

Nigeria is the ONLY country in the world that will enrich foreign nationals and IMPOVERISH its own citizens.

Only in Nigeria will expatriates treat Nigeria citizens worse than slaves and yet the government will turn its face the other way.

Only in Nigeria will the government monopolize the market by giving FOREIGN companies licenses to control a particular sector of the economy and then deny its own citizens their request to also operate. Vanswani and Chaugari brothers are typical examples.

It was OBJ that later turned that craziness by government around and started giving sole license otr fair playing ground to fellow indegenuos companies.

Take a look at Oil and Gas, Telecoms, Banking (before Soludo's recapitalization erra), Manufacturing, Phamaceutical, Construction, Avaiation, Hospitality and the rest, prior to Obasanjo's completion of 2nd term in office, those sectors were fully run by expatriates and they all (and still) treated Nigerian workers with so much disgust.

Ghana and other countries don't play with their citizens so if you can't develop your country the its your problem.

With China's cheap labour and harsh waorking conditions, they managed to bring their country to 2nd best economy in the world this is a sign that if India that looked up to Nigeria in the recent past and well as China can develop their countries (even South Africa), then what Nigeria's problem?

Don't blame the Ghanian government blame your useless Leaders.

You must be some kind of follow follow mumu. So because everyone is baslessly insulting her and insinuating what she never meant I should also join the dumb bandwagon.

Check my post on this forum and you will notice that I NEVER FOLLOW THE EMPTY HEADED CROWD BUT ALWAYS FOLLOW THE FEW ONES WITH A FUNCTIONAL BRAIN IN THEIR SKULL.

Most of you never took out time to read through her post and assimilate it well but rather just read through replies and decided to follow suit.

I think 99% of the posters are misunderstanding this Lady or can we put the blame on the poor academics in Nigeria?

There's is no where were the Poster stated that she can't date a man who is less financially bouyant as she is. What she is simply saying is he shouldn't dump the whole bills on her and be too relaxed.

If I read well, she actually said she doesn't even mind picking up a little more bills that she pays but at least he should bring something tangible to the table (like food, groceries and a few other bills). I don't in anyway think that's too much to ask for.

The only place where she was specific on the man is the tribe (Yoruba). Which later on she somehow agreed to date outside her tribe (I guess).

Why should a lady pray to be the wife to a man who totally relies on her for all the finances needed in the home.

That's so cruel and unimaginable.

I have dated ladies up to 5years old and well richer than me and I will beat my chest and raise my shoulders that not for one second have I demanded a kobo from them.

I do the little I can (without go out of my comfort zone) to provide and make them satisfied. If she makes any sort of demand and I can't afford it at that point I will come out whole heartedly and tell her I can't.

I have never felt inferior or had a complex because of her financial status.

I practically forced one to even buy a plot of land when I noticed a bulk of her earning were going on trinkets and other wasteful gadgets.

Make una free the poster abeg. I don't think she is asking for anything oit of this world as a lady.

NOTE: if you dare insult my 'cus of my contribution, be ready for whatever response I throw at you.

The last I heard, the banker (wife) went to the husband's mothers place and one thing let to the other and she insulted her mother in-law calling her a witch that she(the mother inlaw) instigated her son to impregnate the housemaid.

Don't know how true it is, but heard a softsell carried the story and promise to keep updated gist on it.

afrobaby: Even though I got my present job(though not my dream job o) via nairaland, I must confess this only happens once in like 50 job offers. I know many of my friends, a whole lot, who got their jobs via relatives or close friends, I must confess, it has become the norm of the country. I remember a friend of my sister telling her that if I am interested in immigration job, I should tell him, that he can get one for me via his minister friend. i never said I wanted a job, I had to reject the offer cos the condition being given was too much a sacrifice, I have to claim to still be single when a already happily married, funny though.
But to be candid, getting job(I mean good jobs, not 50K to 70K job per month o, or marketing job), that really pays most time are usually through direct connection with insiders, that is why I dont joke with my linkedin contacts, still seeking a better job, but on break now, hope when I start my searh again next year, i can have a different testimony
Very sincere and beneficial contribution.

Thanks guys lets keep the testimony going as this will enable job seekers learn one ot two thngs on how to get that dream job of theirs.

It will be the biggest greed and ignorance of the century if you pay for such nonsense training.

Wvery company that will employ you and needs to train you will never tell you to pay a dime.

First and foremost ask yourself if you ever applied to the so called company? Did you ever get to write any interview? And what nature/position are they giving you that you are told to go for a health and safety training, I gues you probably applied for an administrative position but yet they want you to go through safety training.

After all our warnings all over the internet should people still be silly to pay a dime to some fake job recruitment agency or company?
Jobs/VacanciesHow Did You Get Your Present Job? by acidtalk(op): 11:47am On Jul 05, 2012
I usually gevt at least one request every two weeks by friends and distant families to try and help them submit their CV to my friends who are either working in top notch companies or own their own company.

Just yesterday such request was being made by a friend of over 8years and on seeing another who works in one of the top 3 insurance firm in the country, he said not only is his own job currently on the line as his insurance company is planning to lay off staff soon but also most jobs of today are gotten through connection from top inhouse management staff.

Why question is nairalanders HOW DID YOU GET YOUR PRESENT JOB?

Was it just filling out job vacancy through online or newspaper?
Or through a reputable recruitment agency? or with the help of a family, neighbor or even former lecturer or boss?

Please share your story on how you secured your present job for others to learn on or two things about.

this kind of story is very simple: he married a LovePeddler and thought she was wifey material (or knew she was like that and tried to change her). whores will be whores, no matter how much you wanna change them.

yes it is sad, but it is even more sad to have never fully loved because you couldnt trust someone...... because if you dont trust someone, you can never truly fully love them.

the question is why shouldnt she, when she is a certified LovePeddler/slut?

a1solution: in my opinion is better you use a name that automaticaly tell people what you are into so you save ur self from too much introduction and advert Eg that ur Trucking and Equipment limited is the best. Like my site www.rarenewsandschools.com I dont hustle for trafic cos the name tells what it is. Take a clue from www.nairaland.com also though u may think i am citin my example from websites rather than physical, but mind u, as it is above so below.
There are RULES for Branding and Name is the most important aspect.

It is totally wrong to give a business a generic name.

Yes! You are hearing this gist Hot as it is. At least before the likes of City People, People Gist, Fame and the rest carry the story.

Adebola (surname witheld) is a young, handworking, comfortable and very Handsome business man. He is married to Wunmi (Not real Name) who worls in one of the top CDMA telecommunications company in the country.

Adebola and Wunmi have been married for 3years and have 2 beautiful boys. The first son who is 2 and a half years while the baby who is just 7months old.

Adebola and Wunmi are termed to be happy couples (or so did friends and colleagues think). They did almost everything together from providing for the upkeep of the family to cookings meals together and sharing of house chores. Adebola is one man that a whole lot of women will love to have as he is such a perfect gentleman and caring husband.

Adebola being an entrepreneur who owns a AGO (diesel) delivering company usually has more time than his wife Wunmi who does the 9-5pm kind of office work and sometimes gets home later tha n 10pm due to the Lagos traffic at the close of work so this had made Adebola fond of his children as he does their cooking, diapers, laundry, and a whole lot others.

Adebola played the last USA visa lottery which results were released late last year and to their greatest surprise their name was amongst those who have been considered as part of the winners.

Immediately the results came out,and all requirements stated, Adebola immediately started with the further processing by contacting his 'sponsor' in the US, gathering of needed documents and others. This he did in no time.

Everything went on smoothly and they got to the final stage which was the Medical report they needed to present to the Embassy at their stated appointment date.

Adebola, Wunmi and the kids were made to come and pick their medical reports from the hospital to take to the embassy.

On that faithful day, Adebola received the shocking news of his life when the Medical Consultant at the US embassy chosen hospital in Victoria Island revealed that one of his two children (the younger) one wasn't his child after they had done a DNA test.

Right there in the Hospital, Adebola broke down and wept like a baby. He as received the biggest betrayal and humiliation of his life from the woman he ever loved most.

After consistent plea and threats, his wife finally confessed to him in the presence of senior members of the church and close families that the baby actually is a product of an illicit affair she is having with one of the top senior managers who was recently made a director at her place of work.

She confessed she never thought it will lead to such disgrace and humiliation to herself and family.

The sad aspect of it is that, Adebola who have sold some couple of their properties like their only plot of land in Ajah, a diesel truck, their Toyota siena car and a few other household items to support the supposed US trip was totally dejected when he was told they have been disqualified from the US lottery.

The Question is, What does a woman really want to make her happy? Because their family friends, relatives, church members, neighbors and colleagues can't just phantom what made Wunmi go cheating as she had the best husband any woman could ever dream of.

I am 100% Naija to the core and will support and encourage anything Nigerian.

To the 1st question : it is extremely obvious the Hardware was all assemble in China. Even I won't be surprised if the software also will all be pre installed there. It might just be a sealed boxed with the tablets that will be sent to Nigeria in the name of websoft.

Afterall if 'mighty' Apple can have its items all assembled in china 'cus of cheap labour and professionalism them how much less websoft.

I guess its only a few Technical team that will be represented in Nigeria.

The sure should have their tablets very reasonable (with 30-45k) or even less if not na dem go use their thing themselves.

Eyah this is so damn sad.

May his soul rest in peace.
That would have bEen a man probably on the move looking for the daily bread for his family.

Nigeria is so freaking messed up and I am begining to extend such hatred for today's clueless youths. Because rather than them think rightly and look for positive solutions they will be engaged in religious and political sentiments as well as keep themselves busy with irrelevant things like social networks, bbm and the rest, which have limited or no societal value.

If government can't provide jobs, empower youths, protect them then shouldn't they at least compensate them when their facilities take the lives of innocent souls?

If it was in a developed country, PHCN legal team would have started discussing with the deceased family by now on compensation and to avoid litigation.

I was in tears when all attention shifted to the 153 people on board that Dana Air yet only few people inquired how those that were sitting peacefully in their homes and the plane went to perish them should also come in the picture.

Only death of bigwigs make the headline, even though we know its the norm in today's world but at least let's duly compensate those that were unjustly killed (knowingly or unknowly) by government, private and public facilities.

Afterall no man's life is more important than another.

The forum tries to filter phony job ads which are prevalent unfortunately, it creates a potential for the odd case of false positives.

Encouragingly you admit to respecting other opinions which is admirable. Thus I think the L&B website possesses some room for enhancement for example, your physical address would actually look better on there.

Good luck with your search.

If other sentions can act this ways, I believe fraudstars and unserious minded people will be forced out of nairaland in no time.

Please d not include personal grudge or sentiments like the norm the moderators in Romance and Politics section display.

CareerRe: What Do U Dislike About Your Organization. by acidtalk: 4:05pm On Jul 03, 2012
You ALL need to wake up and smell the Roses (not the conffee).

The Problem of Nigeria is NOT the so called Expatriates but rather your Bloody Labour Law and MINISTER OF LABOUR.

How where else in this world will you find a Labour Minister calling peaceful protesters JOiBLESS MiSCREANTS when the same government instead of providing jobs for the growing population is there laying off government workers, stealing pension funds and looting the budget allocated to such ministry.

There is no where in this world except Nigerian were expatriate head managerial positions up to 80% while the home citizens are left with demeaning managerial positions like Head Of Security, Head of Store / Library and the other useless names they dish out.

Someone mentioned Huawei; using that company as a case study, how else will someclueless chinese dropouts come and head departments and be paid fat salaries and allowance yet Master degree holders who are Nigerians are made to remain on one position for 5-8years with very meager salary increase and yet being treated so poorly.

Banks, Telecoms, Oil and Gas, Transport, Insurance, industry, Private and Government owned institutions lay off staff unjustly and yet there is absolutely no Labour Law to protect them.

I say it over and over again, the day Nigerians Drop religious and ethnic sentiments and fight the REAL and Common enemy of this country the better for all.

A country were billions of naira are allocated to a Labour Ministry as well as Youths and Sports and yet there are no Entrepreneur training programmes and emporwerment skills those budget are used for the citizens of this country.

Ghana has a 60-40 Labour Law in which in any given foreign company, 60% of the managerial positions are left of the Ghanian citizens and the rest for the expertriates.

Is it not this same country we hear that some certain staff can't go beyon a certain floor of their company because they are 'blacks' and termed as inferior?

Well......Not God but man (you and I) will change the situation of Nigeria if we really want a better and brighter tomorrow.
