All I see is northerners as executive directors. One Nigeria is all about oil... Nonsense!

Those replying me...something is pschologically wrong with you.

Northerners...all core North
Saudu Mohammed (Gas & Power)..Core North
Bello Rabiu for Upstream...Core North
Isiaka Abdulrazaq for Finance & Services...Core North
Isa Inuwa for Corporate Services....Core North. Inuwa is from popular Hausa Fulani parentage of Muhammad Inuwa...former Emir of Kano!

Where are people from North Central...Benue, Kogi,Plateau, Kwara, Nasarawa, Niger? Are they not northerners also? Who is deceiving who? Nonsense!

South
Babatunde Adeniran, Ventures. (South West)
Henry Ikem-Onih , downstream (South East)
Anibor Kragha, Refineries (South South)
Isiaka Abdulrazaq is a Muslim Yoruba name that at best would come from Kogi or Kwara in the North central or Soutth west.

Isa Inuwa is 50% chance to be a Northern christian. Some northern christians have Hausa backgroud such that their names sound more Hausa than Christian. Isa is Jesus in the Bible and Koran. Inuwa is shadow in Hausa. So he can be from anywhere in the north. I am from South kaduna, a Christian and have an uncle called Inuwa, cousin called Isa, others called Jamila, Fatima, Bello who have no muslim or Hausa geneology to have gotten the names.

Its sound too convenient for you to place them from where you want them so you can make a point. The north is more complicated than you think.

Properties › Why Plaster A Wall That Will Be Tiled? by adanny01(op): 10:55pm On Mar 07, 2016
This issue has continually bothered my mind.

Why do Nigerians plaster a wall then install tiles on it. I expect that the bare wall of the sandcrete blocks is rough enough (coarse gradation) and preferable to the almost smooth surface of the plaster (fine gradation).

I know that it is required that after plaster and before hardening, the plaster should be roughed up to prep the surface that will be tiled.

Isnt it a waste of effort and resources to plaster as the bare wall has more rough surface to hold the tile than the plastered surface?

I lived in a rented house were the landlord renovated his house built in 1994 to modern finishing. He introduced skirtings and tiled the building externally below the skirting. Few years down the line, the house became a gory sight as the tiles continue to break lose from the wall. The particular tile design was no longer available in the market for him to buy few packs and replace. He had only one option, remove all tiles and reinstall with new ones. Of course, the cost was an issue.

The point is, if the house wasnt plastered smooth before the remodelling, his tiles wouldnt have fallen off so soon. The old wall was just too smooth even after the tilers did some work in scratching the wall surface. The wall had been painted before which also contributed.

Therefore, for a new building, is it not better to tile directly on the blocks?

There are deep pot holes on that Abj kad lane. I lost a tire to one a month ago. They probably hit one and probably over inflated tire.

They all fit into this suv because it has 3 rows of seats so its obviously a 7 seater. However what shocks me is how death singled out only the family and left the outsiders alive. The chances of death taking just him, wife and son and sparing the driver, pa and orderly is 1 in 100,000. The more reason why people would assume something spiritually diabolical took place.
Am sure the 2 people in front (driver and ordely) were on seat belts. That would have saved them in this case of overturning. The PA who probably sat with the boy on third row is the one who strangely survived. Thats because i dont expect him to have worn seat belt but surving an accident like that is strange.

SUV accidents are more fatal especially if seat belts is not used. My office experienced this in a toyota prado. My bosses who sat on the back seat were seriously hurt while the driver and my colleague who wore seat belts only had a bruise. On of my boss has been confined to a wheel chair and no sex for the rest of his life after series of suregeries all over the world.

Thats why i personally hate SUV's.

You need to step back and have a look at yourself cause maybe you have a problem since its just becoming a daily affair with you insulting strangers. If you dont like his opinion, use simple non insultive words to say so. He doesnt need you approval before others find him a successful and a good architect. Why call him a sham when yourself is not a successful architect to criticize professionally? Is there no other way to make a point other than insults?

Last time you said to me you were always going to be above me. After seeing you engage several faceless people on NL, i am beginning to think you are mentally above everyone. That means one thing, that being above everyone is abnormal and may require a psychiatrist. I see you as someone who has no control over himself, that calls for help. Any mechanic should be able to check the injectors and coil pack. The last is more difficult to check without right tools which is cylinder compression.

Incorrect valve lash gap or burnt valve can lead to loss of compression. Cracked engine block could do that too.

You have to be sure that the compression in the cylinder is low, that will lead to the check the valves if ok then rings.

What os holistic in figthing corruption.

Assume a thief has been stealing your properties, but on this fateful day that you arrived home and caught your neighbour in the act. He confesses that your other neighbour was the one whole was stealing before. Wont you take the one you caught last to the police before you face the other one who you have no proof. If the crime of the other person was 10yrs ago, how will you investigate especially with regards to asking friends and neighbours. Some of the witness may have died or moved away. Some of the eviddence like finger print would have been long gone.

In other wards, there is no way to convict him since no proof can be found.
Politics › Re: Why Did EFCC Refuse To Investigate The Following People? by adanny01(m): 12:05pm On Feb 25, 2016
mauriceju2:
Why did Buahri EFCC refused to investigate the following people at least to charge the people who alleged them as liar for perjury?
Politicians that should be charged for corruption.

Atiku Abubakar: Reputed to have fleeced the economy of billions in the privatization exercise. His former boss OBJ has consistently told Nigerians that Atiku is "Olee". Today, Atiku remains the presidents right hand man. His stealing has been written-off at the expense of poor Nigerian masses.

Rotimi Amaechi: The Rivers Stage investigation panel confirmed that Rotimi Amaechi stole over N84 Billion from the state treasury. The case was reported to EFCC, but Buahri EFCC refused to investigate at least to charge the people who alleged as liar for perjury. Yet Buhari is making corrupt Amaechi his minister.

Chief Obong Attah: This former Akwa-Ibom governor was accused of fleecing the State to the tune of $5.3 Billion paid to ECONET for which the UK government has declared him wanted. Additionally, the case of over N200M paid for non-existent air port is still largely not investigated. Obong Attah has found a friend in Buhari and as such not longer a thief.

Abacha and family: Buhari served under Abacha regime as Chair of the Petroleum Trust Fund (EFT). This fund was reputed to have "helped"many Buhari friends to loot the Nigerian economy. Though, Buahri has not been directly indicted Abacha family have. In the latest World bank report on Abacha loot, it was reported that the amount was 'too much' for them to trace. Yet Buahri told us that Abacha was not corrupt".

Timipriye Sylva: The former Bayelsa governor who now want to return to state house was accused and being tried for stealing a whooping N22Billion from the state. The case was on by EFCC before Buhari was sworn in as the president. Thereafter, the cases were abandoned by EFCC and Sylva is now running for governorship under Buhari's apc. As a friend of Buhari and member of Buhari's transition team, Sylva theft were written-off. http://www.premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/184918-efcc-files-fresh-corruption-case-against-ex-governor-sylva.html

Abubakar Audu: Abubakar Audu's case of stealing N11 Billion from one of the poorest states in Nigeria is a pathetic story. No one knows the state of the case as of today. The funny twist to this case was that the State apc chairman told the people of Kogi to re-elect Audu Abubakar so that he can "return" the N11Billion stolen from them. Audu Abubakar as apc flag bearer in Kogi State remains Buhari's friend. Who is fooling who?

Malam El-Rufai: The governor if Kaduna State was formerly Federal Capital Territory minister under PDP. El-Rufai was alleged to have allocated plots to himself and his wives and concubines and even female lover (corp member) was being paid N1million per month as allowance. latest was the N5Billion paid to his company for consultancy service to CBN under Sanusi for no work done. All these were not probed by Buhari, yet story has it that El-Rufai is infact the defacto Vice President of Nigeria. A friend of Buhari is no longer corrupt.

Babatunde Fashola: The case against Fashola is know in public domain. He was reputed to have constructed a personal website with N78 Million in addition to having dug some two boreholes with N300 millions. Babatunde Fashola is a friend of Buhari and now a minister of Buhari's corruption fighting government. What an irony.

Fayemi: Amongst other corruption issues and plunging Ekiti state into an eternal debt, Fayemi was accused of making a bed for N40 million. All calls for EFCC to investigate this act of corruption was glossed over because Fayemi was the "organizer" of Buhari's winning primaries. He is now being appointed as a minister of FGN.

When men like this are moving freely with their agbadas raising, what is corruption fight all about then?
Among these people, only Ameachi and Fashola are the ones worth mentioning as they just left office after 8yrs of being there. However, both are state governors and their activities even though the responsibility of EFCC, they may not have the capacity to investigate or find reasonable proof to charge them.

More than 90% of those being investigated today are Federal Civil or public servants.

It is a known fact that the older the crime the harder the investigation. EFCC has no capacity to go back in time digging more than it can handle.

Some of the people mentioned have already been investigated and findings are still available to the EFCC. The investigation probably stalled because of lack of evidence to convict. Without new evidence, you cant ask the EFCC to reopen the investigation without new info or evidence.

If anyone perceives them guilty, i urge the person to write a petition to EFCC and i believe, they would act if it were convincing enough. Better still release the evidence to the media and there is no way Buhari ot EFCC would ignore.
Career › Re: How I Was Assaulted By My Lebanese Boss Yesterday Morning by adanny01(m): 2:12pm On Feb 24, 2016
Charlieubochi:
I work for a construction company in Port Harcourt owned by 2 Lebanese brothers. I work as one of the two Administrative staff. I was employed two years ago and the very first thing I noticed about the place was the care - free manner the Lebanese people smoke. They smoke all kinds of things openly in the office not minding the health implications on other staff. I also noticed the total lack of respect that those people have for us Nigerians. They told me stories of how they insult people, throw all kinds of objects at them and I even heard they physically fight them. I always thought it was funny and I never ever thought that I'll be a victim of such horrible, barbaric and slave-master attitude from these people. I am a BSc degree holder in accounting and I am being paid #30,000 plus I have to work on Saturdays too.

On Friday last week I requested for permission. I informed the workshop manager that my friend would be wedding the following day(Saturday). He said I should go directly to the MD of the company a dental request for permission myself. I said no, that nobody goes directly to him knowing his very bad attitude and lack of respect for everyone and besides he's the MD and shouldn't be bothered by such trivial issues.

So I proceeded to go to the wedding on that Saturday thinking my request had been granted or at the most I would be marked absent on that day. I returned to work on Monday and I was stopped at the gate. The security people said the MD told them not to let me in. When I asked why, they said it was because I didn't come to work on Saturday. I was so shocked. In any case I begged and pleaded but I was advised to go home and come back the following day (yesterday) and beg him to let me continue working. I went to the office early and waited for him to come and then I started begging him. The moment he saw me he started insulting me. He said I was useless and ungrateful. I kept on begging. He came close to me and gave me a hot slap on my left cheek. I never in my widest dream expected to be slapped by any person whether boss or not. I was so furious that it took God's grace not to beat him up. I knew if I beat him up I won't have a good case against him. So I insulted him and stormed out of the office. I reported the case at the police station. They invited him to make his statement and my dad (who doubles as my Lawyer) is handling the issue.

I am going to make sure he will never forget this experience. He would pay heavily for this and other crimes he has committed against innocent Nigerians. He was so shocked and I could see some fear in his eyes at the police station. He never expected anyone much less the very quiet boy who sits in a corner of his big company to drag him to police station and to sue him to court.

The Lebanese, Indians and Chinese are fond of maltreating we Nigerians. Even his Lawyer confessed that they see us as slaves in our own country which is a very terrible situation. Many Nigerians are afraid of standing up for their rights when these people treat them badly. I'm writing this long message to encourage people to always stand up for their rights and never let anyone or situation intimidate them. I would love to hear from anyone that has gone through similar situations before.
Our Igbo driver did something like that to our boss a Romanian which got the expatriate arrested. That Igbo man even lied to the police and the white man had no defence. He lied to the police that our boss called him "black monkey" which we knew wasnt true.

He is over 60 and the oldest serving driver but wanted to drive the biggest car in the office (Toyota prado) which is only used for site/interstate trips while he has been driving a corolla within city for meetings and shopping. The drivers driving the big cars make more money as they get access to spending more on their cars such as fuel, repairs, hotels and travel allowance. Fighting for the new prado led to the exchange which he threatened report of descrimination. Next hr police showed up with trumped up charges demanding almost 500k in settlement and severance pay. He was paid and we never heard from him.

We almost took the same expatriate to the cops last year, he begged when my temper reached the roof.

That's exactly what the manual states.

Accord from 98 - 2002 has 205 65 R15 for EX trim and for LX R14. 2003 - 2005 has 205 65 R15 for LX and 205 60 R16 for EX and 6 - 2007 has 205 60 R16 for LX/EX and 205 55 R17 for EXV6 while 2008 -12 have 215 55 R16 for LX and 215 50 R17 for EX

My friend uses 215 55 R17 which is a little big higher on the profile than the specs. He lost 2 tires consecutively to potholes for reasons I don't know. He hits a pot hole and the whole car feels the hit while my 03 accord LX with spec tires of 205 65 R15 handles pothole with so much comfort.

If all Nigerians are like you and do not see anything wrong in a judge receiving money from a lawyer whose case is before him, then Nigeria is beyond saving.

No judge is even supposed to receive money from any body other than his employer because that person could face him someday and he will not give due justice. Thats why judges don't socialize unnecessarily. Judges live a private life and are paid well to sheild themselves of returning favours.

Artificial ke', the naira is no where near the value of the dollar. See if the naira is left alone to find its true value then we should be looking at #500 upwards. We don't produce anything in Nigeria that should support the current exchange rate. Even if they bring in Obama's economic team. The first step will be to devalue the naira.
Do you really know the effect of demand/supply on price?

When some people intentionally buy up or steal the whole supply and stash it, what do you expect as regards to demand and price?

When we had bountifulness of the dollar at over 100dollar per barrel, what was done with it. Even the stashed foreign reserve was depleted at the same time that dollar supply was bountiful. We have heard how GEJ and his bandits looted, unfortunately, they looted in dollars not Naira. They took the cash from CBN vaults. Those were supposed to be our supply but they took it to their personal vaults. Why won't the demand for what was stolen be high and consequently the price. Even the Dasukigate 2.1billion dollars if returned today would relieve the Naira from this artificially created pressure.

The rich among us have decided to perticipate in the pressure of the Naira by buying available Dollar hoping the president will devalue the Naira or the Naira would continue to fall while they smile to the banks.

It is the same thing with panic buying of petrol NNPC has been claiming to cause scarcity. Once people anticipate rise in price, there is instant rise in demand and a resultant fall in supply since the was never a need to increase it.

Demand and supply is elementary but it still applies.

That is the wrong argument... The naira is over valued at #197. Even stronger currency like the euro is losing value against the dollar. The best time to devalue was yesterday and the second best time is now. A devaluation will reduce the stress on the naira. So finding a solution that will not lead to the devaluation of the naira is a waste of valuable time.
Knowing well that the fall of the Naira is artificial and created by speculators who keep hoarding dollars, would you allow speculators devalue the Naira? The previous government depleted our external reserves trying to reduce pressure on the Naira, how successful was that?

Am not an economist but I believe there is a solution other than spending foreign reserve or devaluations. I am hoping for a solution that will not demolished the Naira or affect Nigerians.

That is because generally the top caliber students go to EE and ME.
The standard of ABU Engineering has sadly fallen. There was a time when it was great. What is the required CGPA for a first class in ABU during your time/now?
That i believe would never change from 4.5CGPA it has always been.

I know a girl in mechanical who graduated with 4.49 plus an A in CVEN (civil eng materials) 3 unit course. The course made her 4.5 but was expunged on the grounds that it wasnt relevant to MEEN.

She lost out. I heard her case went up to the Governing council since her father was a prof in the sch but was still denied.

I think EE is the easiest to get a 1st class in the engrg faculty and CV/WR/QS/LS being the worst chance. Probably its like you said, the best wants to go for either of the 3 EE, ME or CH. Some of the best who didnt get to ME are shipped to Metallurgy, Agric or Civil Engrg so they have good ones there especially metallurgy.

Quality of lecturers matter too. For example, QS and LS were they are poorly staffed experience serious difficulty in graduating students. They frustrate them not because the course is hard but because the lecturers are not senior lecturers. The senior ones are busy making money. Its the same with CIvil, most senior lecturers are consultants and have less time which means more junior lecturers to the job. Junior lecturers are more stingy with marks for fear of seniors.

I didnt see the fall during our time but i expect it now. During our time i have seen lecturers with lecture notes dated since the 80's especially the Profs. I dont think they chaanged much but the standard of admitted students had fallen and the number of admissions increased. My own class was 50 by reg no but less than 40 actually, by the time we left the set number had risen to avove 100. This generation of school leavers that dont know how to read on their own, it is highly expected that lecturers have no option than to drop standards.
