Sadly I haven't had any problems with cruise control so I haven't done any research into it. I once had a stuck moonroof and it stuck in the open position. The electrician just scratched the contact points for the buttons with a screwdriver and it started working again. Maybe you can try that.
On the single loader ish, mine is having the same problem. In fact it didn't work for close to a year but to my surprise started working perfectly during the harmattan. Although it's intermittent now, with those pops and crackles. My observation on this, is that it seems to work better with low humidity and using the AC on vents rather than recirculation. It even seemed using a car dehumidifier worked. My guess is moisture is collecting on the circuit and causing the problem.
I know our radios have faceplate numbers; I think the single loader is 2AC0. I am not sure if the 6 loader will work on them as it has different faceplate numbers.
I've even considered fitting one of those China navigation units with Bluetooth specifically made for this model but it now goes for 70k or so.
Funny enough this is my 2nd OEM radio. When I bought the car it had a broken unit and I got this one on eBay...
Haven't really decided what to do...
Am happy to inform that I did open the cruise control steering unit this morning. I cleaned the contacts for the buttons and everything worked when i tested.

On the radio, i had previously made about 4 repairs on it. I bought the car with the radio display backlight and HVAC LED button lights all off. The CD wasnt playing some disc too. The display was repaired and the lens cleaned that first time. There are a lot of videos on youtube on the lighting issue. Later the CD stopped playing again so i went back which was resolved by just cleaning the lens. The third time was when i started experiencing the flicker on/off and still CD selecting CDs. Both were repaired around Sept last year. The flicker came back December increasing in intensity daily. In fact, the radio goes off when i turn A/C on and remains off till some minutes after turning A/C off.

3 weeks ago, on a return trip from Zaria using A/C through out, the radio went off completely. So i stopped at the radio mechanics shop. The radio never came on thereafter. I opened it up this morning inspecting the board for problems, the back light which was fixed long ago went blank again this time no radio no lights. I will give the board to a different electronics guy to solder as much parts as he can. That seem to be what has been done before now.

If that fails, i will budget for a 6 loader. There are 3 types of the unit. 1st is 6loader dual zone climate control, 2 is 6loader manual climate control and lastly ours with 1loader manual climated control. I intend to buy the 2nd type which my inquiry puts it at 25k in Abj.

Just saw your cruise control light on and remembered mine that shut down 3months ago. The mains engage and comes on but the cruise speed cant be set.

Initially, it started by disengaging from cruise while driving without touching brakes. I would be driving on cruise control but will disengage like i touched brakes without actually doing so. If i re-engage it will disengage by itself till one day it refused to re-engage till today.

I tried to check the fuse but found nothing. I was convinced it is not a fuse problem since the mains switch comes on.

Please help me, i got tire of looking for solution.

Also, my 1 loader stock audio has finally shut down for good. That one too used to flicker off and on by itself without reseting its settings. That is a coomon problem with the 1 loader. A radio electrician who worked on it 5 months ago has asked me to just get a replacement. He adviced me to get the 6loader saying its problem is less. The 6 loader like he says always jam cds but can easily be treated than the 1 loader that may go off for good.

What do you know about this issue too?

I will only answer that question if you answer this.. Why is it that it is usually your people that perpetrate most religious violence and bloodshed, even before independence and until these days (Fulani herdsmen killing and maiming farmers unnecessarily). Why? Why always you? Or you feel like these killings are more justifiable than election violence?

Why is it that even a cartoon drawn by someone from Denmark, resident in Denmark (a white man for that matter) caused you guys to spill blood of innocent Christians in Nigeria (I mean, how low can it get)? Why is it that killings of Arab Muslims can spark off killings of Christians in Nigeria? When you answer these questions, then I will answer yours.
Unfortunately, instead of answering a good question you went ahead to assume wrongly and ask me questions that i have no answers to.

In general, religious violence is a global problem. Political violence however should not have a place in our society. A society full of illiterates we would understand but in this case the educationally backward states do not have as much political violence compared to the oil rich educated states.

I dont see Wike compensating the old man that disowned his son for a job well done. What is the boy geting from polititians that is more that the respect to his father.

Those who beheaded their friends were probably paid 100k to share. Meanwhile Wike must enrich himself of that same funds from government coffers and many more. At the end of the day, Wike leaves givernment house with stash of billions and nothing to show in the state for all the lifes lost.

So I recently realised that our traditional institutions lack the capacity to settle disputes as simple as political differences amongst its erring sons, or should I be more particular to assume that the traditional stooge in the south-south is nothing more than a mere appellation of 'he who pays the piper calls the tune'. See how deaf, dumb and blind they all have suddenly become.

Shout outs to all the youths who have found themselves a new form of religion under the guise of political umbrella and broom. My heart bleeds out to you because we are still failing to realise that we have a common rapist in these politicians or so-called messiahs in the new kingdom of utopia. Sadly, I dont see the veil pulled off our eyes anytime soon. *it hurts*.

Suddenly, the youths in my time do not see anything bad or despicable in the death of a fellow human. Why should we? afterall, we've all turned religionists to these revolving and rotating 'expired and greedy gladiators'. *it hurts*

One day we may all sadly wake up to find ourselves reaping pile of shame from the stupid sentiments we accord these failed men today, men whose lifelong occupation is and will always be to 'kill, murder, annihilate, maim and assassinate all in a bid to feed their bloody gluttonous bowels. Let's not forget that the one who kills and the one who sees and pretends not to will all be docked before the supreme judge to give account someday.

Shame on my fellow youths, the 'leaders-of-tomorrow-Nigeria' sorry I mean the 'killers-of-tomorrow-Nigeria'.

Trash talk! Talking to someone that spent five years in the north and narrowly missed death in 2011. You're not even making sense in anyway. So Buhari whom cuz of him, over a thousand was killed is not all politics? What differentiates religious bloodshed from political bloodshed anyway? Or do you believe one of them will give you 77 virgins while the other won't?

BTW, anybody can vote anywhere, even in Rivers as long as you don't allow people know who you voted for. Your friends should have made it open so that people knew they voted for GEJ let's know if their blood wouldn't have flown especially if they voted in Muslim populated areas.

Black man and backwardness sha... SmH!
All you do is simple name calling. Between 2015 and now, why is it that only Bayelsa and Rivers have this level of violence. If you cant answer that, then you are economical with the truth.

Trying hard, tooth and nail, to differentiate one violence from another. As if all violence doesn't lead to murder and bloodshed. If the north's was different from Rivers' violence, then you should have gone to any place highly populated by Muslims and declared your support for PDP before that 2015 election, let's see if your head will remain on your neck.. Rubbish!
Muslims fighting Christians - Religious
Fulani fighting farmers - property
Ikwere fighting Ikwere - ?
Itsekiri fighting Itsekiri - ?
Father fighting son - ?

Which ones look senseless to you.

Just because you are ignorant of the north doesnot mean you should just say anything. My friends have vote in mainly muslim areas and came out. Northerners allow voting and get aggrieved only when they thought they had it but lost. That was even one time and it was for religious reasons. The point is that northerners will not fight over politics as it is a less trivial issue. In SS, its different.

U are very far from the truth. SS and NE are alike, cos they will never take any shit if someone wants to deny them of their right. Considering if there is also someone like rotimi amaechi that want to proof his legendary in Akwa ibom, delta, cross river and the northeast states, same thing that happened here in rivers will also happen there. Bayelsa is the state of former president and APC knew they can't win there but just want to get it by all means in order to present GEJ to the world as a waste. Let me ask u this question, didn't Buhari' zombies killed people in the NE in 2011 because he wanted to proof his political stand in those state not owned by his party(CPC)? Is there no casualties in that time? Please be a human right activist and stop talking like a partisan.
Kaduna, Adamawa and even Ekiti governors defeated incumbent governors. Was there violence? Sokoto, Plateau, Benue and and even Rivers governor defeated candidates of incumbent governors. Only in Rivers, political violence became new order. What are you saying, are you supporting the violence in Rivers?

About the bolded, if APC knew that they could not win election in Rivers, INEC should have know better than waste money on the elections and declare PDP permanent leaders of Bayelsa and do same in Rivers and Akwa Ibom.

2011 violence in the north is post election violence where aggrieved losers decided to attack Christians bringing a religious tune. The violence inthe north is usually religious intolerance but in Rivers, a father disowning his son for politics says everything. Its no this type preelection and election violence you have there. Northerners dont fight during elections. Only aggrieved people whose candidate lost resort to violence. SS dont even allow free and fair elections.

You see, its you who is far from the truth.

Some people can't communicate sense without attempting to insult someone with a different opinion, yours is pathetic, even the nonsense you are saying is coming with a feeble attempt at insulting my opinion. Well, i dont blame you, its a faceless forum so you are free to express yourself. In the weeks after I posted that personal comment, I still counted about 4 hondas obstructing my way on the road with the same problem!! And it always seems to happen at a junction or roundabout! I did not say hondas are not NICE vehicles, but that is hardly the issue here. learn to be intelligent and specific in your arguments. Its not about which car engine outlasts the other or which is nicer! Its about a specific problem. Someone assured me that Honda had fixed the problem but recently i saw a CRV 2010 model with the same issue along the road in Wuse, Abuja. I am told it happens with other vehicles but for Honda, I am NOT told, I see it frequently!!!
I have driven 3 models of Honda accord from 1998 till date without having the pull out. Would you say i am lucky?

I have seen Toyota Tacoma twice, 4runner thrice, others are MBenz, VW Golf, Peugeot 807 uncountable times. As a matter of fact i went to charter a car for a trip a very good 807 was offered and i refused because of this problem. Honda atleast doesnt happen on high speed but Peugeot does strictly on high speed.

Search the net for the leg pull out, and you will see cars you thought were perfect.

Most of our Honda are American models, how come the problem isnt a problem in US or Canada where they come from?

Yet, he can't carryout one credible election in a single state, ahh it's so unhealthy for our democracy,
It speaks volumes, n I wonder what 2019 will look like, we should not only expect massive rigging , but more violence.
Is Buhari responsible for the choice of PDP to become violent trying to hold unto Rivers and Bayelsa. Was there violence in Sokoto, Kano, Kaduna Katsina or Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo or even Enugu, Imo, Abia and likes? Taraba is a strong hold of PDP, was there violence in their elections? How come we are seeing massive violence in Bayelsa, Rivers and Awka Ibom but not Delta or Cross River. If you had a brain you will know that the states with violence are states where APC has some support even if not enough to take the states but its PDP fighting with tooth and nail. There are states in the North like Kaduna where PDP had support but not enough to take the state, did APC resort to violence?

The next thing you will say is that i am a Zombie, even if i am, you will be as good as dead since your brain has no warmt. It is people like you who are out there in Rivers killing people while blaming the president who is far out in Abj and has no stakes whatsoever in the state.

Lets face the truth, the people of South South are violent in nature and they exhibited it over and over again, Buhari cant be blamed. In fact the politicians in Rivers and Bayelsa have no blame as their lives is in their pockets while the youths and ordinary citizens of the state suffer by their own hands.

Car Talk › Re: New FRSC Rule On Drivers License by adanny01(m): 12:15pm On Mar 20, 2016
The last batch of the old DL was issued around 1st half of 2011. Those who got the old one in 2012 like me had it back dated to 2011 losing 1 year of the 3 years. So mine expired as usual on my birthday 25th Jan 2014. If the DL was original, your DL number would have been in the system enabling you to enter an application as renewal.

The current issue is expected because those who had the old ones would have needed renewal since 2014. Those who didnt renew immediately did in 2015. You dont expect them to keep renewing old licenses that expired 2yrs ago and the owners didnt come for renewal. Probably those series of DL number have been taken out of the database expecting no one to come with such at this time. Therfore if anyone has a the old driving license it is considered a new application. Even when i did my new DL in 2014, some old licence was rejected.

The only new thing i have heard is the number of days you will go for driving school. You were required to go to an FRSC accreditated driving school, pass and get a certificate but time was not mentioned. They probably realised pple just go and pay and collect the cert thats why a period is now attached.

Car Talk › Re: What Do You Have Against German Cars(passat Models)? by adanny01(m): 9:49am On Mar 17, 2016
I have 3 friends, one drives Benz ML350, the other a VW passat and the last drives a honda accord.

On a long trip of 800km, the Benz had an ABS sensor issue. Because of it, the car wouldnot go more than 60km/h. We had to sleep over at a town.

The guy with Passat had to change his CVT joint (shaft), afterwards the car wouldnt change gear just because the ABS harness was broken along the line. It took a week to resolve after alot of scanning and trouble shooting.

The third guy had to work on his accord steering rack for leakage of PS fluid. The mechanic disconnected the upper arm and left the wheel hub hanging on ABS harness. Excess tension pulled off the wires from the sensor making it irrepairable. He didnt have money to replace immediately so he drove the car for a month before replacing it.

The point i want to make is that Japanese cars will not stop for a safety problem but a german car would stop you in the middle of the desert or an emergency.

4 people i know had an embarassing problem with Benz C class. In each instance, a car they just turned off its engine wouldnt start at all. The result had been same that the key lost its coding. Usually, they spend 50k and above to start the car that was ok minutes ago.

u can't see him sit at a place for a moment, he is either climbing, destroying or pulling down something. I have even stopped helping him wt his homework as he will never pay attention, I have told his teacher to let him do them in class.

eating time is d same, he takes a spoon n run around n will never eat half of his food.

I am now almost d enemy of almost every mother in d compound bc of him, each time he's out playing wt other kids, it must result to fight n I have to defend him! even his younger bother is not safe around him.

I must always let him have his way, otherwise he will cry and scream all day until I get tired n let it go.

he leaves n comes back from school by school bus by 6am n comes back 6to 7pm, I was thinking of changing his school next session, since all my complains to d school hasn't changed anything, cos I think d time is too long for him. but the truth is that those hrs r my only peaceful times.

I love him a lot but the tot of his behaviour makes me very angry.

pls mothers n counsellors, who can advice me on how to tame this boy!
I saw your post late but we seem to have almost the same problem. My first boy will be four in less than a month and the second is 2 already. My first has intensified his stubborness recently with a lot of lying which i hate. He blames everything on his brother which was not how he was. He used to admit what he has done but recently, shifts the act to his brother even when i have seen him do the act.

My main worry is that he will never stop or answer his name when we ask him to. He bullies his brother too. Like if the brother opens the fridge and i scold him to close it, my first son will run to the fridge shoved his brother away and bang the fridge door. His brother cannot pick any toy or item he seizes it and when we stop him he insist unless you pick up a cable or belt pretending to flog him. On some days, he wakes up and decides he is not going to school. "Wear your uniform" he will boldly reply NO! Devotion time is always a problem until we reach the lords prayer before he joins.

Our neighbour that move out had older children who had older children. They pick up bad habits from there. I am aembarassed now that we have new neighbours who have a son younger than my 2. My neiggbours have learnt to close the door at their faces just like the previous ones. Once our door is opened our neighbours usually have to close theirs.

I feel you and pain of having a stubborn child. My parents told me i was stubborn too but not as much as my children. I am currently an introvert and completely respectful.i believe tha my children are just going through a phase which will go away. I prefer a stubblrn child at this level than teenage. I believe yours will calm down with time.

This is a picture from the impressive build by Bitswork. I want to get a consensus that this is how it's done.

Basically I'm being told by my Carpenter that the lintel that goes over the balcony is always a coach higher than the doors and windows as shown on Bitswork build.

Is this standard?

PS: Okay I see the same on Spyder880 thread so I think it's normal normal grin
Yes its the standard but not all circumstances.

Usually, most residential building walls are stopped at either 2 or 3 courses after the lintel, 3 being standard and 4 for high ceiling.

For those who stop at 2 courses after lintel and having a course between the lintel and balcony beam. There will be no more block work after the beam. Also, for such buildings with eave overhang, the eave ceiling may partially or completely cover the beam depending on the height of the roof king post or the length of the eave. This will certainly not aesthetically look good. When the beam is next course to the lintel and with 2 or 3 course above the lintel, their is little likely hood of the eave closing the beam partially or entirely.

My suggestion is if you plan your wall to stop at 2 courses after the lintel with no parapet, cast the balcony beams at same level with the lintel. If their will be parapet, cast beam 1 course above lintel.

Building collapse may be due to Natural disaster that is beyond engineering control, and as well as structural failure that may arise frombso many factors. I refused to put this blame on structural consultant because i have worked in one of the real estate development firm some years back, and i quit within six months because of my future career. Most of them don't have any engineering background and so they don't ha e any respect for engineering procedures and consultancy.
Same experience i had in Abj.

I worked for 2 months and resigned before my third payday.

1st Me and another engr were employed same day but i had far more experience. They made him my chief engineer just because the developer and he were from same state in the south south.

2ndly, My chief could not do anything without my opinion and sends me to challenging sites while he takes sites that only require brick laying. Most times he invites me to his site only to ask about his site's challenge.

3rdly and the last straw was when a third engr was later brought in to head the engineering team. As amusing as it was, he was a chemical engineer heading the engineering team of a real estate developing coy. We had 2 shouting matches in front of labourers and in a meeting. I had played him into accepting a responsibility that took away alot of mine and others and slowing work. That was the responsibility to hire, negotiate and pay workers. Once he took that upon himself, i became a consultant. Once he hired for a day, i go to site and give the scope of work, if its done or not, its not my business since workers report to him. Hell broke lose when he couldnt force me control the workers he hired and they became lazy as the person paying them isnt there to appreciate them. Labourers ended up doing one days work in 2 days and him paying twice as much for labour.

This coy's management were entirely family and none is a professional of any of the real estate development discipline. The director of projects, a brother to the MD/CEO read geography. The rest are either accountants (MD's wife and director of finance/admin) or lawyers (MD's wife's brother Director legal). Worst is that the beautiful female staff have been fvcked in turns while the circle of brothers and inlaws prey on all usually beautiful female supply marketers.

Stop peddling lies if u are not from Rivers State.
We knew it will come to this because its the plan of APC to arrest strong PDP chieftains before the election next week.
So, only Rivers indigenes are allowed to peddle lies about the state. By extension, only PDP should lie since PDP is the only devil in Rivers abi?

How about the truth, can a non indigene like me say the truth?

If NNPC is unbundled, what is suppose to happen to the office of the GMD? If the GMD still runs things, how can someone say NNPC has been unbundled?

Lets face it, only the National assembly can unbundle NNPC, is the GMD NASS?

Why all the fuss and unecessary hardship metted on ordinary Nigerians by the oil workers? What do they stand to lose if their jobs is not threatened. We all know NNPC is a nest of corruption, it seem they are protesting in demand for more corruption.

This strike stinks of corruption fighting back. We need to stand against corruption.

I'll confirm Isiaka Abdulrazaq. Isa Inuwa is from Muhammad Inuwa family of Kano...former Emir of Kano.
I want to correct a perception of names sounding Hausa but could be different. For example, Kogi people use alot of Hausa names.
