pdp what..huh if u looked at the ballot papers....in that pic you will found out that majority voted for pdp in that polling unit....
This is the funniest set of pics i have seen recently.

It makes no sense.

Scenerio 1: Assuming APC thugs. They disrupted elections and chased away all electorates, tore the ballot papers and were in the process. Does that mean the photographer who is obviously a thug too is dumb enough to tear the papers then take pictures of several of them showing PDP votes. How dumb is he and how dumb are the others to allow that happen.

Scenerio 2: Assuming the thugs are PDP thugs. They disrupted elections and seized ballot papera that were either thumb printed or not. They then thumb printed on the PDP party logo which may or may not have APC votes, they tear them up leaving evidence that it was PDP votes so insinuating APC thugs meanwhile while ita all a set up to look that way.

I simply think it was a set up.

When you can't see the glaring ones, by claiming that naira didn't depreciate. And that you bought fuel at 86.50k at the filling station, and you are happy.
When you are supposed to buy fuel less than that considering the crude price as the ruling party demanded when crude fell to $78.
Do the analysis yourself biko.
I was doing the analysis with someone on this forum. He feels it is mischievious that petrol in Nigeria is sold for N86.50k per litre but in India where Nigeria imports petrol from it cost N200 ($1) per litre.

I couldnt explain the figures to myself as to why we are even buying it that cheap. Before you criticize, please make research.

If Naira depreciated, you would have seen it in the price of goods and services which would have ran inflation really high.

Back to sincere advice and suggestions.

Assuming the car is engraved like mine, i counted 8 glasses with 2 side mirrors and 4 lights (head and tail) to change. Assuming your are buying the new low quality chinese parts we have, a budget of 200k may suffice. Adding 1 or 200k to make 400k would enable you sell the car top it up and buy a neater 2008 RAV 4 with no markes or signes it has been use on Naija soil. You dont even have to sell, go to a dealer and trade it off if you really want the swag that bad.

Please can someone define CORRUPTION for me.
I do not understand the situation now. When corruption was on;
1) People could eat.

2) Had fuel at a lower pump price.
3) Job creation was at least on the increase.
4) Naira had more value.
5) The problem was the led, not the "leader"
6) No much lies. Etc

Now is like the leader has become the problem, and everybody is suffering and smiling.
We need change evaluation ASAP.
1. People still eat, abi you no chop since May 29?
2. 3hrs ago i bought fuel at NNPC no waiting at N86.50k. My tank is full.
3. 2014 Capital budget was N1.1trillion while 2015 was N387Billion. GEJ did that. How can new jobs be generated. Buhari has budgeted N1.8trillion, watch, you will see how it will kickstart the real change.
4. Naira didnt lose value, it was put under pressure by excessive demand of the dollar which GEJ and his cronies stole to fund campaign. Abi Dasuki steal money in Naira, no be Dollar?
5. The ptoblem was "leader GEJ" not the led.
6. Face the truth!

but if i may ask, do i need to turn off the engine(ignition) on any of the situationshuh
No, never.

The risks are too much.

1. There is risk of turning key to complete of which in some cases will allow the steering to lock.
2. You will lose powered steering.
3. Servo brakes require engine vacuum to be soft. Brakes becomes hard as soon as you turn engine off.

Good morning all,

I was driving yesterday and i saw a car that was involved in an accident......the front tire on the passenger side blew out, no lives lost but the car was damaged considerably......some persons were grieving with the car owner while some maintained that the driver was a little inexperienced and then i got to thinking, do i even know what to do in that situation or any car trouble situation sef?

so my good and experienced people of Nairaland, what do one do if say......

1. One is on speed and realises he has a failed brake
2. One is driving and say the tires on any side pulls off (if it can be broken down to each tires, would be super cool)
3. Others can add theirs..

Thanks.
1. Keep pumping the brakes till you stop.
In an emergency that you need to stop to avoid hitting an object, use the hand brake but with very serious caution as that will lead to skidding. My advise is to pull lightly while holding the release button. Most hand brakes are cable operated connected directly to the rear brakes. A functional hand brake doesnt fail when hydraulic brake lines leak.
2. Just control steering to a stop without applying brake or hand brake.
My friend and his neighbour were buried yesterday due to tire burst. My only guess was he applied brakes and probably didnt wear seat belts.
3. Always put brand new unexpired tires in the front. If your must replace 2 new tires put them at the front not at the back. This is why i like FWD, they will allow you manage worn out tires in the rear but RWD needs good tires front and back else you will have rear wheel skidding all the time.

Great. Now as yoy can see it's imposible to just import fuel at stated cost. An I dan friend of mi e said out of that pump price approx 30rupee is tax.The refinaries in India are private not state owned so that swop deal won t work.I think they have their own refineries where they refine and repatriate the products or they declare more than lifted. So my friend the SCAM is so massive govt shud focus on building not fixing .A new refinary .then they can subsidise on cost of production not importation. So U see in theory they cannot remove the subsidy it's news of distraction. We ain't going to get anything cheap.
What i want you to agree is that Nigeria buys petrol from India and sell to Nigerians for N86.50k without paying a kobo as subsidy. That is a fact they have established. How they were able to buy at the rate they do is a matter of research which neither me or you know right now. The best is to hope we get our refineries before crude oil will go back up.

For long we know the always lift more crude than the records show. That may be this administration's next point of call.

Great stuff now let's ask ourselves what's the pump price in India?it was $1 last time I checked so in line with global market it's N200.smell scam yet?
You have a point there.

I would only guess that since majority of Nigerian crude ends up in India, they must have reached an agreement. An agreement such that Crude is shipped to India for refining and the cost of refining is paid in equal amount of crude. It is also possible that other range of petroleum products from the crude is kept by the indians. In that case India actually buys its own crude from Nigeria but Nigeria does'nt pay for crude. They just ship to refine, pay and ship back the products. That means India's retail price will include cost of crude oil while our portion does not.

Moreso, theirs will include VAT and alot of other expenses we dont have. You see from the template, there are 3 types of taxes and highway maintenance charges but all with zero charge. India could have charged those and even more.

My only hope for now is for Nigeria to build new refinaries and maintain current ones before crude oil prices go up again.

I asked three basic question has nothing to do with GEJ or PMB.from your submission I can state that yoy don't know what the concept of su side is.no offence meant with all due respect.most people know the meaning but not the concept.Let me draw you near.Subsidy is the only thing the govt seem to give us without cost to us but to them.Nothing else so U want that taken away?
If the subsidy is removed we will buy petrol at above N200.they import not from Africa but Asia ie Saudi or south America ie venuzuella. Now the cost is $1 to fill your tank there subsidy in venuzuella is %70.@ production not importation so in theory the production cost there would be close to $0.50.in today's money that N100.by the time it gets here it would be X 4.so your guess is as good as mine only if the fg fix the refineries then Yeh they could remove the so called subsidy mayB cost of production might be N120 and they can sell N180 including VAT
Dont say i dont know just because i didnt answer your question the way you want it.

What is subsidy in relation to petrol?

Assuming the total cost to deliver petrol from a refinery in India to my car's petrol tank including profit and transportation is N100/L. If government instructs the marketer to sell to me at N87, N13 will be paid to the marketer as subsidy on my behalf. N13 is a free gift per litre to any one buying petrol orderwise called subsidy.

The problem comes in when i buy 50L in which government needs to pay the marketer N650 as balance of his money but the marketer claims i bought 100L. Government must now pay N1,300 because government's monitoring officals either failed to do their jobs of monitoring what is actually delivered or decided to partake in the fraud. Its not easy to properly monitor and prevent the fraud, it is best to remove the subsidy since N13 wont kill me. After all subsidy benefits the rich more than the poor. A rich man has more cars and more trips to make. He runs more fuel consuming vehiles with full loads having disregard to economy. A rich man may require 50L per day but certainly not a poor man that doesnt have a car. That means the rich man can collect N650 worth of fuel free of charge daily and the poor man that needs such incentives or discount cant claim it. The rich man flies but the poor man travels by road. Is'nt it better for the poor man if the roads are fixed with subsidy funds than on fuel where the rich has more purchasing power.

Lastly, landing cost of petrol was recently calculated to be N86.50k. If we pay the same amount at the pump, how much is subsidy? Zero. We all know the value fluctuates + or - N86.50. The template now is that if the landing cost drops to say N85.50, we still pay N86.50 and they now have negative N1 subsidy which is saved for future situations where subsidy will be positve N1 and government pays with the savings.

In this case government doesnt take money from its coffers to fund subsidy. The aim is to give the pump price a little stability instead of changing price every other week. We will now see more frequent pump price change than before. Its good for me ass long as government agents dont use the subsidy as a means of fraud and rich people benefit from it more than the poor.

This will continue until such a time our refineries can produce to our consumption rate. The cost too will significantly drop since we will not pay for off shore transportation or taxes involved or foreign exchange. Government can even decide Nigerians pay cost of refining, local transportation (cheap if by pipeline) and profit for pumping stations.

Analyst believe that there may not be a significant increase to the price of crude in 2016, so we should expect that for now the pump price will fluctuate witin its present range.

You might be right from a perspective and d same time be wrong from another....but from my own perspective i believe i made a smart move coz i know myself, my worth and my plans more than anybody
Different strokes for different folks.

I know a man who earned very little and was saving all his life building a house. Upon retirement, part of his gratuity was used to complete the house with furniture. I was shocked that he built the house.

However, the house came at a price. He never drank beer all his life nor socialised where he may need to give money to friends or family as assistance. He lived in a house with least possible rent and bills. There was access to public utility such as electricity or water but he refused to subscribe. He live in darkness in a place well electrified. He had no TV but just a small transistor radio. He ate very little and luxury such as meat or fish were only for special ocassions. Children attended public schools only.

His family grew up in such conditions that when i dated one of his daughters, she cared nothing about living a good life. She watches no movie nor tv programmes, listens to no music, read no novels, magazines or newspapers only schoolbooks and textbooks. She has no dress sense, cooks mostly local food, detest cereals and beverages. Her psyche was affected.

She was loving but boring. I quit the relationship because i saw no future in the relationship and would never want to live like her or have my children grow up same way.

At the end, he had his dream house still with no TV. He is retired, above 60 and a beautiful house. When he dies, his children would be happy to inherit their fathers house and his way of life. Life rotates another generation with no pleasures of living on earth.

I am not here on earth to build a house. So building a house cannot top my priority throughout my life. I cannot sacrifice the wellbeing of my children over a house. We will live one day at a time, making choices and balancing between luxurious and basic needs. I live to have the best of everything not a house. My kids must develop well, watch kiddies channels, sleep on good beds, wear good clothes, eat balanced diets, visit the parks, lick ice cream and go to the best schools. If at the end i cant afford a house so be it, i hope my children live a good life and own a house. My gift to them will be a good life not a house.

A Hausa saying goes, "ba rakiya na zo yi a duniya ba". Meaning, i did not come to earth as an escort. The challenge is cutting my coat to my size.

I am bewildered to see how we analyse our internal issues with an international view.

Shiites in Zaria were known for breaking every law they find. It is the right thing for the military to cut them to size.

I dont believe it when some people insinuated Saudi Arabia is responsible for fueling military attack on the Shiites. I dont think Iranians asked the Shiites to block the road while i also dont believe Saudi's asked the Army to attack. If it is neither of the two, Iran and Saudi have no business in our internal affair.
