From my understanding the thermostat is a regulator with a max. and min. outside operating temperature which usually is about -50c to 50c so a car is not restricted to one climate/ weather type.

Actually max and min inside engine operating temp usually in the within a range of 80-110degrees celsius. Therefore, outside temp doesnt matter at all.

If removed engine will run below the minimum operation temp which is bad for the car.

nope he didn't install 2 gaskets, I have talked to him. He said he has marked the timing chain before he removed it and he is sure he placed it back from where he marked it. But I have told him if he follows my instruction on the timing chain thing, the car would start. I have gotten a timing chain diagram online for the almera. We will begin work together on Monday, if all goes well, I will update the house on the development.

Thats one probable mistake.

No matter how precise his marking the chain is the settings might still be off most especially with a twin came set up. Timings are set at top dead center of crank shaft which is usually marked on engine block as well as chain sprocket. Thats usually the first step.

Just like GAZZUZZ and DECOtech, i can bet on my last kobo that timing was set off.

Tell him that you consulted another mechanic who said timing is off and he should reset or tow the car to another mechanic that can.

I hope he didnt install 2 gaskets?

The north is more complicated than the south which the Op has no understanding which makes him see things in "black and white".

It is totally unrealistic for campaign promises to be fully redeemed by any standards. Ask Americans with their advanced democracy whether Obama has performed 100% as expected. You can choose to be unrealistic, as for me, even before voting Buhari i was sure his promises will not be fully met. I didnt expect it as am a realist. If i get any thing above 60% from Buhari, that is good enough in comparison to the immediate past government whom i score below 40.

100ah should do well more than 3hrs. Check the power rating but i dont expect its power to be more than 100w.

1.How do you charge the battery for the inverter? or does the inverter charge itself?

1. It has an inbuilt charger which charges battery automatically once power is restored.
2. Modified sine wave works but less efficiently only with inductive loads e.g Fan, florescent lights. CCTV DVR i am sure is not an inductive appliance so it will work well. It will be advisable to run the inverter in UPS mode.
3. It is a good investment considering how cheap it was. If i could afford, i would go higher to a pure sine wave which ranges from 30k upwards. 10k makes alot of difference.

The engine & gear can easily be remedied by thorough fluid flush, but those electrical components are fried.

The electronics will be fried upon powering up. So, if no attempt to start was made, its better. Most Electrical parts in the engine bay are protected against water. It will no stop water from entering fuse box and other few parts. The major problem is in the interior.

The 800va - 1200va (1.2kva) 12v inverter will be okay price range is 20-50k. If you dare buy a 24v inverter that means you must buy two 12v batteries or four 6v batteries or twelve 2v batteries. Most batteries come in either 2v, 6v or 12v so a 24v, 36v or 48v inverter will require you join batteries in series to make its dc voltage then another same multiple in parallel to increase Ampere hour (Ah). Stick to a 12v inverter or else your battery expenses will sky rocket.

Battery range for a 100ah 12v or 200ah 12v is 30-80k depending on quality. A high quality 100ah may be more expensive and has longer life span than a low quality 200ah.

I think the Doc meant well but the whole thing went owry as he did something unethical that will mean bad for his career so he removed himself from the scene.

Anytime i spot a female with such views, i say to myself, thats a potential divorcee unless God himself inteevenes in her case by giving her an upright man. Getting an upright man to me is fate. I would not know how to start explaining to you different reasons why people not just men cheat on their partners. There are basically 2 major items: The inverter and the battery. Its hard to get a used inverter in good condition so a new one is the only option. Mercury is the cheapest brand of reliable inverter i know which the lowest starts from 20k. You need a minimum of 100Ah battery to be comfortable which will cost from 35k and above.

There are other sources of cheap used battery such as those used by big companies were they dispose off batteries that have been depleted as little as 10%. You need luck for those which usually last only but a yr. There are also fabricated inverters like the ones based on expanding capacity of a small UPS but may not be efficient.

Please house I have a mecury inverter It's showing the fault code just this morning. I checked the manual it says "output shorted" could be the fault. It charges the battery but will not give out power if there is no light.

In your case, that TV is far from economical. I suggest you get another TV like LED tv before investing on an inverter. You also need to understand that an inverter system is about managing power needs.

In order of high to low power consumption; CRT (your tv) is worst - Plasma - LCD - LED.
