Yea right, I bet if it was a lady, you'd remember to condemn her and other naija women included, why did you support that he is a nice guy, if you don't support his actions?abegi.
U r being all girly on me. I didnt say he is a nice guy, op said so herself. Am sure the girl he is marrying knows that too. So my point is that if he is a nice guy like she said and wants to have vengeance, it might not work so she should walk away.

You are changing issues. What we are discussing is her next course of action not condemnation.

When i have my side relationships, i let them know i am hooked. They will have a choice so that there is no reason for people like you to judge me.

Advice for you as a girl, especially because you seem to be pissed at her predicament. I wonder if it were you it happened to. You need to cool down cos you have little control of such matters and if you hate infidelity so much, karma or the devil has a way of bringing infidelity around you so that people will see the angry side of you. Am not asking you to be indifferent but be tolerant of bad situations like this where you are left helpless.

You didn't even condemn what he did, if that's not hypocrisy, I don't know what is.

I am not of the opinion that she tells, because I believe the lady he is about to wed knows, but that doesn't mean he's not an a$$hole.
You see yourself. I didnt condemn his actions is what bothers you but not the question she asked. I simply answered her. Condemning his actions is pointless since he is not here to hear it.

My comment didnt say i support his actions so why are you judging me?

Na wa o, someone deceived another for two years and he's a nice man, it is well.

May hypocrisy not kill you naija men o.
Far from hypocrisy sister.

Op asked if she should tell his fiancee. What is the aim of telling? I know what will happen when she tells. Nothing!! And the wedding will proceed while she will nurse her heart from another blow after she expects he will be dumped and it doesnt happen.

I am not encauraging decievers but the fact that vengeance is a risk since you may end up hurting the more.

Why will someone ship something like that?

And the clueless buyer with think Honda or nothing
Lets discuss it please.

A flooded car will have serious electrical issues. I think electronics will be most affected. It may also depend on whether an attempt to start it was made which will fry electronics. If worked on very well that car can be very cheap to buy at the end.

In the long run, the car will be prone to alot of problems.

Find a school in or around Lagos and find admission. Defer the other school by a semester and keep the job on trial.

If the job does not make sense or cant find another admission that soon,go back to your other school. If your deferment wont work. Dont risk your bright future.

“Do not be deceived” Who is deceiving who? “thats where it can be said to be penny wise pound foolish” Who is being penny wise pound foolish ?
I stated from the onset that the 1000w Inverter did not have an in-built charger. I was never trying to compare an Inverter which cost under N10,000, to one that cost twice as much and has a built in charger, you are however making a number of assumptions which are incorrect. Gen and NEPA is not the most economical way to charge a battery. It is possible to buy an Inverter under N10, OOO (low budget solution) add batteries and Solar panels and go completely off Grid and to hell with NEPA/Gen. I am not advising anyone to do this, I am just saying that it is possible. It is up to the individual to consider what he wants to power and how much he wants to pay. You add up your NEPA and Gen bill for the year do the math’s and tell me who is being penny wise pound foolish. You cannot compare a Toyota Camry to a Range Rove!
There is no need to get all personal. A simple question was asked though incomplete. Can he get an inverter for less than 10k. You know that there is one but as knowledgeable as you are, you suggested mercury 2.4kva with 2 100ah which is well above his budget. Fine. He needs it for a 45w equipment. Mercury has a 1.2kva with 1 100ah that will satisfy his need but you didnt suggest that as a cheaper option. Yet again you suggested a 1000w car inverter which will require he buys an external charge yet again above his budget.

A simple answer is, "No, you cant get a complete inverter for 10k". Then you suggest what you can within your knowledge. Suggesting a car inverter without telling him the pros and cons is misleading. Supposing he took your second advice and went ahead to buy it only to realise its just the begining, would you say sorry. It is better to be safe than sorry.

I know you are a business man and have no much time to type. My post wasnt a personality attack but to put our friend in the light. I know you have no intention to decieve but your details are not clear to someone may not know.

Lastly, wind, Solar, Nepa and Gen are 4 ways to charge a battery. The choice for an individual is not yours to decide but yours to advice especially in relation to budget. I have a 1.2kva with 1 200ah battery that serves me well. I owned it for more than 3 wks now and i hit low battery once during a 3days Nepa blackout. 2 hrs of gen got me more that 6hrs of tv. The whole of my 2bedroom flat is connected to it except all the sockets were heavy loads are. My area doesnt have prepaid meters, do you think Nepa cares if i invest in solar? My bill remains same. In my situation and if i cant afford solar, must i buy it?

My only aspiration is to show that even on a low budget, you can still enjoy the benefits of inverter technology. The question was: “Can i get an Inverter as cheap as N10,000?” The answer is absolutely yes. A quality 1000w Inverter will power 45w equipment, Fan and Energy saving Bulbs without any issues. I know this because I am using a 1000w power inverter to power my office, which consist of: one flat screen TV, one Laptop, one Printer, two Lontor rechargeable fans and 6 Energy saving Bulbs. The disadvantage, however of using the above Inverter is that it does not have an inbuilt charger, this is why in my opinion the best value for money Inverter is the Mercury 2.4 Inverter which cost N27,000 and comes with in built charger. If anyone knows of a good Inverter with in-built charger that is the same price or less, please share so the community can benefit.
The inverter you have recommended has no charger, of what use will it be to be used at home or office since obviously his use is not in the car? It is not just a disadvantage to not have a charger, it is impracticable. His budget should therefore start from 20k.

Just some post above ours (page 30) is a post of mine that i shared with pictures where i managed to get an inverter of 1.2kva 12v which cost 20k but with some 2.5k discount it went for N18,315 including N815 delivery charge. If i were in Lag it would have been 17.5k. The one you posted is a 24v inverter that will require minimum of 2 batteries which is extra cost.

He can charge his battery using Solar Panels. In Nigeria quality 200 Watts Solar Panels are available for N27,000. You can do a lot even with a 500W Inverter
If i can get the whole of your system as in the pix with the solar panels for a budget of 10k, please and please give me ur contact. Infact, i am willing to be your distributor.

I believe ewizard1 asked if 10k could afford an inverter, the simple answer is a capital NO! Considering that this is an inverter thread which must have a charger for use with solar or PHCN or generator. The only exception is the worked one in which a dead UPS is used with an external battery charger. The battery is yet to be included o cos he didnt mention if he has or not. A 900va back up UPS is even worth 10k or more. What more are we talking about?

Suggesting a solar system in which the panel alone is 27k is somewhat ridiculous for a 10k question.

ewizard1:
Hello room, can i get an Inverter as cheap as N10,000? I just need it for a 45w equipment, Fan and Bulbs. Just need it to keep the machine working till i run the Gen. I was thinking of a UPS before but i think an inverter would be better as i can still achieve more off it.

Can it power indoor appliances like TVset, Fans etc & Desktop Computers.
Sure it can. Its 1000w abi?

Do not be decieved. An inverter for use at home must be able to convert DC-AC and AC-DC. What was posted above can do half of that, that is DC-AC but cant do AC-DC. That means you cant charge your batteries except you buy a charger, thats where it can be said to be penny wise pound foolish. Moreso, if you have to buy a separate charger, your inverter system becomes a manual one which will entail you manually switch your supply during power failures by connecting and discconnecting wires. You will have to do that your self and your system has to restart after doing your manual connections. With a complete inverter you dont have to move from your seat when there is power loss or gain from PHCN. Another downside is that when you continue playing with wires everyday, there are chances that you may mistakenly connect wrong wires or one day some one who does not know your connections while you are away can make the mistake then kabooom your inverter is gone.

Save yourself a lot of stress by going for a complete inverter which starts from 20k on Jumia.

Donot forget that your power needs must be calculated and crossed referenced with your budget before you buy anything. I see you mentioned desktop computers which consume alot, lets say 150w. Its also not advisable to go beyond 70% capacity of your inverter. That means you should limit your needs to 700w if you buy a 1000w inverter.

Yes you can get an Inverter within that amount. This one is a car Inverter that also has provision for use indoors. It has no inbuilt battery charger and it uses 12 volts input to function. Its rated power output is 1000 Watts. You can get it for N8,500. Call 07066669834 if you need it.
Is a car inverter same as home inverter?

You advise him to buy a car inverter which uses a charged battery from the car charging system? How is he going to charge his battery at home? Will his budget remain in N10,000 range?

Okay abatically and adanny01. Didn't know all these. Had issues sometime ago with the bluetooth device cos it was stressful and frustrating when it didn't connect to ECU even when I tried using a laptop, so I opted for the plug and play....no stress, reads live data also. Thanks smiley
I think it is more stressful connecting with older cars.

Look at the pix below, you cant get such with plug and play but this you can get with the cheap elm.

Bros simply get a plug and play scanner. Tried this bluetooth thing last year on my car and it worked just once then it couldn't communicate with ECU again.
With plug and play, no worries.
Now you have purchased 2 bluetooth devices which might have amounted to the cheapest plug and play device.
Just abandon those stuff bro and save yourself unnecessary headache.
Its either a professional or the cheap elm bluetooth devices. Those intermediate or the plug and play are not better in anyway. Obd car doctor free is perfect and has better parameter displays. It also displays only parameters compatible with the car you are scanning while torque free displays all whether those parameters are online or not. Torque is more tweakable but a little combersome while remaining available for tweaking offline.

The plug and play is not friendly espcially for reading live data but the elm is compatible with a computer and phone which will give you a very good display of your live data which a non professional can easy read and understand. Its not easy to read live data in a digit display format but very easy on a graphical or circular dail display.

Adanny, very educative post I must say. I M a regular guy on nairaland but I usually do not go beyond the front page as I am a very busy person snd I use front page to keep myself abreast of important info.

I stumbled on this whilst doing a google search as to why my 08 accord makes that noise from cold start and was startled by the revelations especially the one where it was stated that it is a general Honda 08 issue.

I bought my car from someone I know and I never really bothered to check anything major. He just informed me that he will change the ac compressor which has been working well since then (bought the car in febraury).

To be very honest the car has never given me any major issues except normal servicing which I do every 3 months based on the percentage oil change indicator.

Ok, there was a time the left side shaft pulled out after I made a sharp turn with the reverse gear. It did not engage in gear again and luckily I had boys around who helped pushed to my office cos I was very close anyway. I bought a new shaft but was surprised when after 1 month I started hearing the noise again but chose to ignore till date till next service.

I plan to get in touch with GAGUNZ.

Gagunz, I invited u on bb please accept. My pin is masked as folkows 7b****21. I hope to scan first, to know wgat all errors could be before any thing. I hope youvare not expensive o. Lol

How timely, 2days ago, i watched as a well dressed man was walking to his car at a car park of a hospital in KD. The man walked to an 08 Accord and after he started it, i just shook my head and just imagined that that is really a general issue with that car.

On the shaft issue, please dont waste more money on it, ask GAZZUZZ to get you a certified belgium (toks) complete shaft. It comes with the both CV Joints and booth. That will last longer than any new shaft you will buy new locally. My friend in abj changed his shaft more than 5 times in two weeks till he got a belgium one which he used till he sold the car with zero shaft problems.

Seriously dumb argument by Barcanista.

If thats really the way to go then alot more PDP people will not be able to shake EFCC off their backs. May be Buhari should reconsider the presidential pardon to Alamieyeseigha.

Besides the real reason why this PDP witch hunt allegation carries no water is that APC has never been in power. So by simple proportion there is no way that of 16 yrs to 2months can be matched in terms of number of EFCC probes on both sides.

PDP and its wailers are best ignored.

Isn't it easier for U that is claiming d improved performance supply is due to Buhari to give me proof of what he has done in d sector?
1st of all, power supply usually peaks during rainy seasons due to d fact that d dams work optimally,or have U not noticed that in previous years?
2ndly,Some of d power plants built during d last regime are also gradually being put in use thereby boosting supply.
BUHARI HAS NOT INVESTED A DIME IN D POWER SECTOR NOR EVEN MADE A POLICY STATEMENT IN D SECTOR.
1st power generation peaks at mid rainy season not early rainy season of May.

2nd last regime didnt build one single power plant or transmission line. All those projects are obj's and Yar'adua's. Their completion timeline only fell within last admistration.

So both GEJ and Buhari didnt do anything to improve power. GEJ only sold DISCO's which the sale is a complete fraud. I expect Buhari to cancel to sales. I hear Namadi Sambo baught for himself Kano and Kaduna Disco's. The worst is that he paid for Kano and used the ernomous profits months after to pay for the KD disco. They sold those disco's to themselves for chicken change.
Romance › Re: The Unilag Rape Case - I Think It Was Consensual - My Opinion by adanny01(m):
We were talking about it with my wife and what i told my wife is exactly what the op has said.

I told her if i were the judge i will dismiss the case as blackmail. Both their stories doesnot completely add up. The girl has a motive for blackmail which invalidates rape. Her motive is that, the lecturer promised to assist even after he had told her and her father that it she is not qualified to sit for the post ume. She hoped he could pull some strings and get her in and was obviously ready to give him full compensation which she did only to realise he cannot help her. Now she cant take back the free sex she gave and opted to punish him with blackmail after realising he had played her and had no concrete plans to help.

Rape is very bad and i wouldnt want my family member to experience it. However, rape shouldnot be used as blackmail. People easily believe it especially from young girls.

Some yrs ago, a girl far older than me was given a job and my dad's friend asked my dad to accomodate her pending when her accomodation would be provided. My uncle was in our bq but hardly stayed since his family were far away. He gave her 1 room. She was seducing him but my uncle is a devout christian resisted her. They eventually fought publicly in which she accused him of rape attempt. I didnt believe her a bit but her allegation almost put him in trouble and was swept under because the girl was new and her character was questionable while my uncle is upright. Now, she followed us to my village for an occassion, i took an opportunity of the crowd late at night and she gave me a treat even when my entire family and my fiancee (now my wife) were around. We were almost caught by my sis who came to the room but was dark. It continued till my wedding when she finally said no. All the time i was thinking in my head what kind of morally corrupt person she was that she did that when she was very close to my mum and fiancee. My sisters were suspicious of her and didnt want her around for fear of seducing our dad. At the end, within the same government quarters, she did atleast 7guys the last one even led to the death of his wife which she still sees till today. We later realised our dads friend who initially brought her as his niece was actually her sugar daddy.

Now i had to drop the control to monsoon what ever that means. Still, i cant drink water from it.
