Internet is a very good tool that helps. I had my first son assisted by google via www.babycenter.com. After our wedding we agreed to take at least a 6month period before we got pregnant. Unfortunately, since we are now married there was the urge to drop our usual contraceptive (condoms). With the many unprotected sex we had and 2 months past with no pregnancy, my wife got scared of the worst and wanted to get pregnant immediately but it wasnt happening which made her restless. I took to google and found baby center. The website gave us specific ovulation days and even EDD (expected date of delivery). There were weekly and montly e mails that track my baby's development. Every thing went perfect as she got pregnant immediately while we enjoyed support from the site. Our friends a couple got married and went through a 6month ordeal trying to get pregnant. She mentioned to my wife who recommended the site. Armed with day of last period and her usual cycle period she got pregnant immediately just like ours. My boy is 4 and theirs 3. |
criminalmindz:You sound like its ok and acceptable. |
criminalmindz:If PDP is sure to win, then it makes no sense rigging elections. Did you drop your head somewhere? |
criminalmindz:Sounds like you were one of the election thugs used by Wike for that election. Your moniker is convincing too. |
TonyeBarcanista:You are economical with what you read. 290k voters comprises of accreditated and failed accreditation. That means total number of votes in that state cannot be more than 290k. You and i know that the results given where more than twice that number. If the tribunal cannot isolate the particular areas with malpractice, a rerun is inevitable. I just wonder why people like you cling to false hope when evidence is right before your eyes. I guess its people like you who decieved Jonathan and his wife that they were popular and would win when every showed he was losing but you didnt believe it. I wish you the best in your self deceit. |
Demrich:The mechanic has to be sure its an electrical problem by eliminating all mechanical problems. Once he is sure its not mechanical then an electrician is invited. Testing the coil pack is easy with a swap to a functional cylinder. |
apexquest:Any car that its fan comes on during cold start has been bypassed. Infact, the temp sensor does not trigger the fans. There is a fan switch replay which is embedded in the ECU that triggers the fan. Temp sensor only reads coolant temperature and relates it to the ECU or fan switch. The fan relay switch is programmed to switch on the fan only when the temp sensor reads a perticular temp say 100 degrees centigrade. In the morning during cold start the temp sensor reads say 40 degrees so the fan remains off until temp reaches 100. On the other hand, the thermostat mechanically close stopping circulation of coolant. It is designed to open when it sense coolant temperature is above its set point say 85 degrees. What this means is that the minimum operating temp for that engine is 85 and the maximum is 100. The normal engine operating temp range is now 85-100. Revision: if temp is below 85 thermostat shuts close and if temp goes above 100 fan comes on. |
Demrich:Its not a rewire's job. |

rotecch77 I like your thread and have been following it. I need quotes on my choice items. The list includes Wall tiles Floor tiles Water heater Bath tub Kitchen sink (one and half bowl and 1 tray) Taps (shower, kitchen mixers) W/C set I wish to compare with local prices as project is in KD. Hoping its cheaper with you including tp so i can patronise you. You did mention yours is very cheap but for the tp for sending up north. Will upload some of ur pics and others. I dont know differences of ceramic, vitrified and porcelain tiles, some lecture will be useful. |

Demrich:P1300 is most critical, your car wont idle with this code which means Cylinder 1 coil is not working. That means only 3 cylinders are firing and 1 is not. You should be experiencing serious power loss. P1300 Toyota - Igniter Circuit Malfunction No. 1 Repair Importance Level: 3/3 Repair Difficulty Level: 3/3 Possible causes - Ignition Coil No. 1 harness is open or shorted - Ignition Coil No. 1 circuit poor electrical connection - Faulty Ignition Coil No. 1 - Faulty Engine Control Module (ECM) Read more: http://engine-codes.com/p1300_toyota.html#ixzz3lejfpk63 If you have your personal scanner or you have access to one, this is the way to go. -Swap the ignition coil pack for cylinder 1 to cylinder 2 and 2 to 1 -Clear the codes -Run the engine -If the problem still persist there should be a new code -Scan If it shows P1305 then the coil pack you moved from cylinder 1 to 2 is bad and needs replacement If it still shows P1300 then the coil pack is good but there is an electrical issue with wire or connector of cylinder 1. VVTi should not stop the car from idling so treat after you solve the P1300. |
Mlud:I will like to make a correction so that readers will not have it stuck in their brains. Thermostat does not control or regulate the cooling fan, the temperature sensor is the one that does that. It does that by sensing when temp is going high so it switches on the fan by means of a relay. A simple logic to know that for sure is looking at cars with viscous cooling fans as example. In such case, the fan is purely a mechanical one so the thermostat has no way to regulate it? |
apexquest:What about driving 12hrs non stop with A/C on or staying stand still in a hold up on a hot day with A/C on for 1hr. Thats when you really know your car does not overheat. |
lonelydora:3mins should do but if he says 5, i guess there is a thermostat in there. Without thermostat and on idle, it will take forever (just kidding maybe 30mins) to near but will not reach operating temp. |
9icetoo:It got me scared. I have not seen such wear before. Anyways, the job was aborted. As a temporary measure, i reguaged the exhaust valves to accomodate the lobe wear. K24 engines like mine mostly have 0.28-0.32mm as exhaust valve clearance. I had when i discovered the lobe wear set all exhaust valves with a 0.30mm valve feeler guage. That led to more noise. So as a compensative measure, i reset the valves according to level of wear though not with specifics. One instrument that would have been helpful if i had was a venier calliper. So instead of 0.30mm for all valves, i varied it as follows. Cylinder no 2 - 0.30mm standard (wear signs only) Cylinder no 1 - 0.26mm with 0.02mm estimated as wear (lesser wear compared to 3 and 4) Cylinder no 3,4 - 0.23mm with 0.05mm estimated as wear (worst wear) The result was impressive. I have never heard my engine this quiet. I only fear that my estimations could go wrong and lead me to burnt valves. I envisaged that the wear of my cam lobes is worst than 0.05mm as estimated. |

I just hit a wall. The the sourced camshaft isnt exactly same. The sourced one has another set of 4 contact points for something that obviously my exhaust cam system doesnt have. The lobe is wider and height i am yet to find out. I am not willing to remove my in own to have compared to every millimeter. Meanwhile a sub has been ordered but in this location, am not hopeful. I may have to abort. Pic 1 is lobe 2 of new Pic 2 is lobe 2 of mine Pic 3 is lobe 1 of mine Lobe 3 and 4 of mine look exactly like 1 in pic 3 but even worst.

Due to cam lobe wear, i have decided to embark on its replacement as a more permanent solution to filling. I have a PDF file of 2003-7 Service manual. I have not seen a particular process of this job but have seen related processes. I have put together a process of my own. However i am at lost to skip or not to skip one vital step that can make the job easier or complicated. That relates to either removing timing chain tensioner, locking it or none. My aim is to finish the job without having to open timing chain cover and resetting the timing chain, it will be tedious if i have to do that due to lack of space. Step 1: Remove Valve cover Step 2: Loosen the exhaust cam pulley bolt Step 3: Loosen the Camshaft position sensor pulse plate at the other end of the camshaft (this is required because i envisage the pulse plate isnt exactly same with the source camshaft) Step 4: Loosen all camshaft holders Step 5: Bind by means of a wire the exhaust pulley to the chain (this is to prevent jumping) Step 6: The next step is where it gets tricky because once camshaft goes out the pulley will be pulled down by the chain auto tensioner and we may not be able to pull it back up and slot in the new camshaft. 2 ways i have in mind. 1 is to open the chain auto tensioner hole (Pic 1 item 2) and locking it (the procedure is in the service manual option 2 simply fixing a support screw driver below the camshaft before removing the shaft. Step 7: Remove the pulley bolt and pull out the old shaft and insert the new one (they have a guide that will automatically put it in correct position as show on pic 2 which shows the replacement shaft) Step 8: Work back in reverse order and check valve clearances before closing the cover. My other concern is that the shaft which i have seen to have a different pattern only on the sensor plate may not have been sourced from a K24 engine. The service manual has exhaust cam lobe height the same for 2003-7.

Toks2008:I and my wife went through a 13yr courtship that started some months before i wrote WAEC and she the next year. We were both virgins. She is some months older than me, she Aug and me Jan of following year. I have been with several girls in the 13yr period and even few months to the wedding but i was just having fun and nothing serious. Every other girl knew i had another relationship, you can say i cheated but it doesnt change the fact that i kept her. When it was time, my so many influences from family and my fathers political clique came to confuse me with offers especially from my tribe. Agaisnt all the odds we got married. Op, is there an exception? |
IdaraCHODB:Yeah i realised, thanks very much. I was able to get it off him. |
OShepherd:You can double, triple, quadriple and so on but as long as they are connected in parrallel. In series will be disastrous for a 12V car but 2 in series is required for 24V car. Note: I would advise to disconnect all slave batteries immediately after the car starts. Thats because the charging system would have been overloaded by the presence of extra batteries. I dont know precisely a serious effect of leaving them connected but can imagine it will be bad after some time as the charging current from the alternator passes to all the batteries which is almost certainly beyond its capacity. |
heffem:On maintenance, i prefer buying Honda ball joints which are far cheaper than buying Toyota shock absorbers which is the common problem of toyota. Almost every friend i have with Toyota has changed shocks at one point or multiple times. Fuel consumption of Civic is same class with Corolla but Civic has better acceleration. You should not be comparing fuel consumption of 2.4l Accord to 1.6 ot 1.8l corolla engines. Anyone who choses fuel economy should not complain when he has been dusted or compete with suprerior cars. You cant eat your cake and have it, you choose. |
IdaraCHODB:I would have but my pump isnt leaking anymore and its very good for now. I will contact you when i need something later. Right now, my need is an exhaust camshaft but have secured a used one in Abj. |
heffem:OP's list is highly inappropriate. The 2007 Accord is incomparable to any car on the list. How can 05 Corolla appear on the same list with 07 Accord? Unless fuel economy is his only criteria, if you consider all criteria, Accord stands out. Instead of 05 Corolla, i would prefer 09 Elantra. My list in order of preference is 07 Accord 09 Elantra 05 Corolla 05 Rav4 |
It was a hectic day for me as mechanics all tried to play me for a fool. 98% of them think i am a novice. One said power steering pump is irrepairable. Another one said i should change my top cylinder before it knocks my engine. Another one said i should not dare filling the wear cos it will knock my engine. Basically, no one wants to sell me the PS rebuild kit, they want to repair it for me or nothing. So they want to get as much money as possible from me. On the other hand, no one wants to repair my camshaft or they have never heard of camshaft repair. Its either i buy a relacement camshaft or buy another top cylinder entirely. The only guy who admitted to having the PS rebuild kit insisted i contract him to fix. I agreed on a price of 1k which he refused. At this point the pump was already removed and i refused to shift grounds insisting he brings the kit to me and install right before me. In short, the guy just opened the pump, cleaned both surfaces, applied silicon gum and closed while i protested. At the end i told him i was paying N500 since he broke our agreement. It was a hot arguement but later resolved when he gave me 2 O-rings. 1 big and 1 small. The small one was used but very flexible while the other is unused. The small fits the inlet pipe that causes morning whine while the large one is the one i requested he fix but instead used gum. However i am not 100% sure that the big o ring is the exact diameter or thickness since he gave me under pressure to recieve 1k from me. For now the gum is not leaking but dont know how long it will remain so. |
Piyke:Thanks for the encouragement. I am heading out now to find the rebuild kit. I just need one O-ring (the biggest of all of them) which i will easily change. The cam shaft filling is another one i will search for. My search location is Kaduna where i am this moment. |
I traveled 150miles and have seen quite a drop in the power steering pump reserve tank. There was oil stains on the pump, below it and on the alternator which i thought was from the job done since i am yet to wash. I used a tissue paper to mope all oil around it. After a drive, i noticed oil below the pump and on the alternator again. That means there is a leak and its obviously No 17 oil seal, the one on the cover plate or in the pan from picture above. I could easily do DIY on it but getting an exact replacement is the next challenge. I need to do that fast as oil touching my alternator puts me on edge. Also, had previously planned to check and adjust if necessary valve clearances since my car's had clocked recommended 110,000miles. I finally had it done yesterday. What i saw broke my heart. Sorry i didnt snap but my cylinder no 3 exhaust cam lobe was seriously worn down. 4 has worn too but yet to reach alarming level while 1 is in the early wearing stages. Only no 2 has no wear while the intake are not worn but 1, 3 and 4 were adjusted. The worn no 3 exhaust vavle was too tight for the 0.30mm standard valve guage and was the only one adjusted. The effect was louder valve noise obviously from just that no 3 exhaust valve. It sounds like a mild diesel engine. My mechanic recommended someone in KD who does cam lobe filling to standard. I wonder how long it will last after the fill. Replacing the cam shaft is not so easy as there is little space to work on resetting timing. |
