They're hard-wired not to admit that they're wrong even when facts disputing their position have made available to them. They think that Naija can be saved by hero-worshipping; that a great country is built around individuals instead of institutions. The difference between us is very huge, bro- I believe I should be critical of GMB with the way he handled the budget just the like the way I was critical of OBJ when he wanted to change the constitution to run for a third term; just like the way I was critical of GEJ when he approved N2bn for his feeding, so GMB increasing the presidency budget by close to N15bn is against his message of financial restraint and prudence. Why does GMB need N15bn more to run Aso Rock when kids are living in IDP camps for years? " Don't tell me about your values, just show me your budget and I'll tell you what you value" Joe Biden. Folks like you think this a revenge mission-PDP did it therefore, GMB should do it threefold. Folks like us believe that we have made too many mistakes and there is a "fierce urgency of now" to fix things. I could care less if he's made a lifetime president cos I have nothing to lose cos my life doesn't depend on payout from Naija politrickians. All I care for is , for Naija to get it right I'm sorry to bring you the bad news that Naija isn't going to get it together with ur type of mindset. All those politrickianss have little or no faith in Naija- there is always a back up country for them- they either train their kids abroad or have investment abroad- some acquire dual citizenship. You're trying to sound smart, but you're being obtuse. Why are u talking about an approved budget when the president hasnt assented to it? Seems you need some education on civic education? GMB proposed N15bn more for the presidency in 2016 budget, which about 40% higher than what was budgeted for presidency in 2015. You are being willfully ignorant to suggest that we shouldnt be talking about the "budget" as submitted by the president while at the same time accusing NASS of not passing the same budget as submitted by GMB. The point is that the president is as profligate as hell. He lost moral authority and political capital to stop NASS when he inflated his own budget..The source of this profligacy is the presidency-he has refused to show leadership.. I'm not holding brief for NASS but the executive controls over 85% of the budget and they haven't shown any frugality.. The most depressing part of it, is that they are borrowing to support their profligate lifestyle.. You can protest against but you can't absolve the executive which controls over 85% of the budget. Maybe if we had accepted the so called IMF advice and loan, we'll be right at the top of their list. What a display of arrogant idiocy. Naija first approached IMF for loan not the other way round. GMB and his cabinet threw a jamboree patty for Christine Largade when she visited Aso Rock and NASS. IMF gave conditions to give Naija loans. SirShymexx: Looool.
Illiterate bastard, where in my post did I compare US dept profile with naij's? lol
How asserting that a country with a debt profile that's higher than its GDP shouldn't be lecturing people about economics became...comparing US economy to naij's and comparing US' debt profile to naij's is a mystery to me, illiterate lout lool.
This is why naij is a cesspit cos 99.9999% of you can't read. I think they should make reading/comprehension a compulsory subject in naij till Uni level lol. Effing reta.rd.
Failure to provide where I compared the two countries would show that you're a product of an artificial insemination between two people with Down syndrome loool.
Anyway, the fact that you can write, though your pencraft is piss poor, is a mystery to me lol. What a product of Naija jaundiced and traumatized education? So a country's debt profile is separate from its economy? What a f_ucktard without encephalon. Your basic understanding of economic is intellectually subpar. You are the reason why Naija will be continuously peopled by folks who are logically and intellectually challenged. You have clearly shown that you lack basic understanding of how debt profile is applied in Intl trade and financing. Inspite of low debt profile, our Fitch and S&P ratings are near junk status while Dubai, a city in UAE with higher debt profile has better credit ratings and can attract foreign investors with better bond yield than Naija. Most of you are stark illiterates. Even Nigeria with a very low debt to GDP ratio still keeps its money in US currency; still uses JP Morgan Chase to bank and manage its reserve. US is still the ground zero for global investment thru FDI. Your Politrickians all want to invest in the US. You are on a delusional crack powered by patriotic exuberance! |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Economics Loses To Politics As Buhari Takes Naira Stand – Bloomberg by adconline(m): 2:51pm On Apr 22, 2016 |
SirShymexx: However, the US has been running a deficit since like forever, while being $20 trillion and counting in the hole. So if those who think they have a solution to naij's economics problem are from a country with a much more severe economic problem than naij's that's being masked by certain leverages it enjoys - wouldn't it be wise to proffer the solution to their own country with the majestic formula they have before telling others what to do? Or can a blind man lead someone with glaucoma?
Also, once you look at how persistent they're and the way naij's economy is the most discussed apart from Venezuela and Russia (at least these two countries aren't cordial with the US), you just have to wonder why they care that much, especially for a country that doesn't care about other countries apart from when its interests are involved. That is the same way the US has been the most vocal against Brexit, when the same country won't allow the same things it wants the UK to do.
Personally, I believe the current naira policy right now is the best thing this government has achieved. Devaluation won't solve any problem whatsoever apart from increasing inflation and getting horders to unleash their stashed loot. Solving economic problems especially when you have a depleted reserve and major source of foreign exchange is in a limbo isn't something that happens overnight. It is a long hard grind. It is basically like trying to burn fat and build muscles - it takes time, unless you want to cheat.
As for the economics illiterates posting junk trade surplus - I don't know when a country that has never been self-sufficient and doesn't manufacture anything, apart from oil, started having trade surplus. They just collated figures of things consumed by naij diaspora in countries with naij huge populations for the useless data that has no bearing on anything. The current situation can be a blessing in disguise if handled properly. Folks just need to be vigilant. False equivalence! US is a$16tn economy with AAA govt bond rating. It's a destination for FDI investment. Just Apple cash_$450bn in the bank is close to Naija total GDP |
Politics › Re: Nigeria Economics Loses To Politics As Buhari Takes Naira Stand – Bloomberg by adconline(m): 1:28am On Apr 22, 2016 |
SirShymexx: Yanks and always talking about other people's economics when US is the worst on the planet when it comes to economics. A country that has been running a deficit for more than a decade with over $20 trillion in the hole should be the last to talk about economics and if not for fiat, petrodollar, and fed reserve printing money as it likes - the US would have been auctioned off to the highest bidder for cheap time ago.
Still don't know why they care more about devaluation than those who are affected by it. Bloomberg should proffer its economic solutions to the US to help the country solve its deficit problem and $20 trillion debt profile. Then maybe, folks will start taking them seriously after that. You can't remove the plank from ya own eyes but you have all the solutions in the world for other people's problems - hysterical lol.
