Mynd44:You see, this is what people expect from Igbo candidates which i find funny considering that the presidents we've had since this 4th republic did not do any wonders of note. From Obasanjo to Yaradua to Jonathan to Buhari. Did they turn any state to dubai before they became Nigeria's president. How then do we expect those things from an Igbo candidate. There was even a time some people were playing with the idea that an Igbo candidate must be able to speak the 3 major languages to be considered and it's laughable to say the least. The way Nigeria is structured, no Igbo man or a southern for that matter can become Nigeria's president without either luck or goodwill from Northerners. The political structured is skewed in such a way that it just doesn't favour some people unless we restructure the country. |
Mynd44:You can't compare any state to Lagos. I understand that you referring to Rauf Aregbesola going from being commissioner of works in Lagos to Governor of Osun state. This is actually a rarity and there aren't so many people like Aregbesola and it can almost only happen in Lagos because of the cosmopolitan nature of the state. It also seems you still don't understand the behavioral patterns of the Igbo. It's a culture over there for one person not to dictate to another except the person's livelihood directly depends on that person. In Enugu for example, we have a quasi god father in the person of Jim Nwobodo who after contributing in making Chimaroake Nnamani Governor, was sidelined and rendered almost useless by the same man he helped. The same Chimaroake made it possible for Sullivan Chime and was also sidelined. No Sullivan Chime mad eit possible for the current governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and has since left PDP for APC. These things just don't work in the SE. Even as respected as Ojukwu was, there were people in the region who worked against his interest. |
Mynd44:You made a good submission but it just seems you don't understand the idiosyncrasies of the south east as compared to the north and the south west. You can never have that one person that yields a lot of influence in the SE. The only person that comes that close was Ojukwu and even when he contested, he struggled win tin the SE. The south east is egalitarian by nature so the magic that Tinubu performed in the SW cannot be replicated in SE or atleast will be very difficult to do. Orji Uzor Kalu tried it and he failed and that's why you see him shouting everywhere that Igbos are not united. Even Rochas tried it and he failed mainly because they felt he was leading people to the wrong party. The God fatherism thingy won't work in the SE and that's the honest truth. We don't believe in a centralized leadership. The only thing that could work is key and notable politicians coming together to form an alliance. That;s what APGA was supposed to achieve but... |
HungerBAD:I understand that you're from the south south but what has to be said has tonne said. These people have added nothing to us despite making them our Kimber one allies . All we get is people accusing us of langrabbing and everything under the sun. What I spoke is the gospel truth even though it does n out sit well with you. It's high time we started realigning ourselves with blocks that really matter. |
You know, this is actually one of the worst times to be an Igbo man as far as being part of the Nigerian entity is concerned. We know that since the end of the civil war the hate for the Igbo man has been engraved in the minds of the average Nigerian, from the west to the North and even to the South-south. Though the Igbos did a pretty good job despite the adversities by pulling themselves out of the rubble and from 1999, we started to enjoy some level of prosperity politically, even though i feel it wasn't enough considering the fact that we're part of the tripod upon which this nation was built. Atleast it was a good start. However, a little more than a decade later, the Igbo nation is looking more like a conquered territory. Some people blame it on wrong political calculations and alliances while others blame it on the hate that the Nigerian state has had against people of Igbo extraction. I would blame it on the unwillingness of Igbos to play politics the Nigerian way. It has come a time that we need to forego the emotions of the civil war and solidarity with any group and play politics the way the Northerners play or atleast, go the route of the Yorubas. These people have mastered the idiosyncrasies that is Nigeria and have seized the moment to put themselves at a stage that will benefit them. It seems the Igbos are the only majority group that have failed and looking like a minority group by the day. Instead of deceiving ourselves by concocting spiritual alliances with a region known as the south-south or Niger Delta or whatever they want to call themselves these days, our alliances should face westwards and to the north. The people from the south-south are the most ungrateful humans ever to walk this part of the world. How can one explain that a group as big as the Igbo race put all their eggs in one basket for a man known as Goodluck Jonathan who wasn't even an Igbo man and as soon as he lost, his people started throwing abuses at us. The first mistake you don't make in politics is to bring yourself down to align with minorities except it's for your own interest. It's high time we stopped being emotional and moved with the tide and align with satan if need be because contrary to what a lot of Igbos may think, we're no saints and nobody is looking for a saint in Nigeria. As long as you're crooked but appear friendly, people will respect you. |
That's the Benin guy that just arrived the country from malaysia or is it Italy. |
dangotesmummy:So, what exactly did i say? |
LifestyleTonite:Musicians like Davido, Wizkid, Tekno, Patoranking etc will do better than the likes of 2face and Dbanj internationally not necessarily because they're more talented but because Nigerian music has already been exposed to the world by the likes of 2face, DBanj, Psquare and co. So, new artistes kinda have it easier and will break into the foreign markets easily. |
Tell us the company that you're hosting with and their methods of payment... While you're at it, one thing you can do is to get a domicillary account and request for a debit card. That should work. Since you're in a hurry, you could either have someone pay for you while you repay them in naira or move your website to a Nigerian host for now until you resolve the payment issue. |

Pedagogue:Open a thread about it, let's have a discussion. |
If dem catch you for this village e don be for you. I think flogging is a form of greeting for them. |
There's nothing wrong with Nigeria participating at the Islamic games as long as the government is not sponsoring it. If the government is sponsoring it then that would be a real shame. |
Lol @banishment in 2017Na to enter the next available bus to Lagos. Whatever happened to arresting people come continue im business. |
NgeneUkwenu:I don't think he's a PDP member because this your comment may have been informed by you thinking that. |
This Delta governor just dull. |
Abagworo:That's also what i've noticed but our mumu IPOB fools are blind to this. It's not just Ijaws that loathe Igbos, even the Ikwerres that you would think because they share a lot with Igbos, they would have some level of liking for Igbos, for where. The hate is because they feel it's easier for IIgbos to dominate them than Hausas or Yorubas. |
FrankGiel:Why are their faces all over the place? Why didn't they just hide them all together. Like i said, as long as the victims and their parents are comfortable with telling their story, nothing else matters. |
For one, they're not even sure that it's an Igbo guy that killed the girl since it was alleged. Secondly, does one Igbo man killing someone now give them the right to go on a destroying the livelihood of people who aren't militants or into bunkering business but running an honest business. Any Igbo who think this issue is being blown out of proportion to keep perpetuating a false SS/SE alliance is an idiot. |
FrankGiel:Why are their pictures all over the place. I guess there's no shame in taking their pictures and circulating but when asked for an interview, they become kidnapped and raped victims. All over the world, it's a common practice for victims to hold a press conference as long as they and their families are ok with it. |
The car is really beautiful. I love it. |
In Nigeria, creating a wedding gift registry is gradually becoming accepted, as couples now look to get gift items they really need. Wedding gift giving is a way for friends and family to celebrate your wedding with you and also help create a lasting memory. Why would they not get you something you really need and would treasure? Here’s everything to keep in mind when making your wedding registry. 1. Create Gift Registry Early What are you waiting for? Registering for wedding gifts should be one of the first tasks you tackle when you get engaged. Our Wedding Catalogue makes it super easy to get started you can select all your favorite items, all while keeping your friends and family in the know. Take the guesswork out of gift buying by create a top notch wedding catalogue that function like your wedding website but as your wedding gift registry in it and sharing the link with your guests. Don’t worry about completing your list at once, but at least have a few items for guests to browse when they visit your wedding catalogue. 2. Do It Together Adding potential gift items together is essential. After all, the gifts are for both of you. To decide what you need, take inventory of the things you already have and see where the gaps are. Talk about the style of home you’d both like, and split up the final say to make it fair. You could alternate items—maybe one of you gets to make final decisions on electronics, while the other chooses the kitchen stuff. 3. Register for Whatever You Want Don’t feel like you just can only register for household things. These days it’s not about the stuff you might need but about getting what you really want. We have made it easier for couples to celebrate their new life together in other ways—think: honeymoon adventures, camping equipment and fancy date night dinners. It’s also easier for friends & family to contribute and buy expensive items, be it the flight tickets to your honeymoon or a new appliance for your home. Building your registry through our website add no additional charge to you or your guests on gifts purchase and delivery. 4. Think About How You Live Try to avoid filling your list with things you’re never going to use. If you two aren’t the formal party types, then you probably won’t need a crystal wine bowl, as compelling as it may seem when you look by with that registry scanner (gift room). Also, be extra sure before you register for anything that’s monogrammed. Once your name is on it, you probably won’t be able to return it. 5. Hit All Price Points As much as you may be aiming for that gorgeous flat screen TV set that costs N300,000 , be sure to register for items in a wide range of price points under N10,000. That way, all of your guests can choose gifts they can afford. You don’t want your college, friend or family feeling overwhelmed by the fact that he can’t find a single gift in their budget range and you don’t want your parents’ closest friends to have to buy you a multitude of smaller items to make up one generous gift. 6. Be Considerate of Your Guests The best registry to have is an online registry. Guests should also be able to place their orders in person or over the phone. We live in a hectic world and you want to let guests be able to order you a gift—even if it’s 2 a.m. 7. Update Often When a guest buys a gift for you, your registry would automatically update, allowing others to see what is left to be purchased. Revisit your registry often (trust us, you’ll be visiting several times a day once the wedding day nears), and update it with additional items as products are purchased, so guests always have a variety of things to choose from. Aim to have at least twice as many items on your list as the guests you are expecting at your wedding. 8. Think Gift Cards and Cash Cards Nothing will ever replace the traditional registry. There’s just something special about your guests helping you stock up on must-haves for your life together. But a few of your guests might prefer giving cash and that’s okay. Your guests will appreciate a cash gift as an option, and we have an easy tool for requesting just that. You can also incorporate your honeymoon into your gift registry by allowing your guests to contribute to your honeymoon fund. 9. Say Thanks Most importantly be gracious and let your guests know their gifts have been delivered promptly. Thank-you notes for gifts received after the wedding day should be sent within a month of your return from the honeymoon. In all notes, be sure to mention the gift by name. That's the daughter he had with Anne Njemanze and with the way their marriage broke, they can't be in the best of terms and i expect the daughter to support her money seeing that she took care of her while her father was nowhere to be found. |
HopeAtHand:It's not an issue of being gullible, it's just aout seizing the moment. To the Biafran proponents, any publicity is good publicity because what IPOB wants is that publicity even if it comes from satan. That's why they would go on a march for a Donald Trump who is loathed in this part of the world. Lie they said, in police there no permanent friends but interests. |
So, what do you want us to do? Help you find it? |
OBALORLA:Actually, when you got to control roundabout, you were already in Owerri. Nice narration though. |
forMom:My sister, they're the most dangerous. Imagine if someone like Abagworo or NgeneUkweunu (who claims to be Igbo), get to that kind of position. Igbo go suffer for their hand. Infact, they will insult their fathers and mothers just to be in the good books of their pay masters. Rochas don try everything wey im fit for his northern masters. he has even svcked their pricks yet they've not even considered the pot bellied man for anything tangible. They're even talking of removing him as the head of the APC governors forum. There's really no gain in being a slave. |
aribisala0:What i said 5 years ago was a tongue in cheek comment aimed at riling up some people. It;s funny that the same comment have always been referenced by people who are so eager and determined to call me a tribalist which i'm not. Now, no tribe deserves to be ill treated by any president, politician or political party. The reason why we go in circles is because some people feel that only one group deserves to remain at the bottom and as long as they're having a chill day, fvck everyone else and to be truthful to you, the Yoruba political leadership have always supported the downsizing of the Igbo nation as long as it means that theeir needs are met. |
deji15:When you see the world from your vantage point, you think everyone but you is wrong. Until we start looking at issues objectively, we will always be right while others are wrong. |
