Can someone please stop Pillars.
TV/MoviesRe: Osuofia Vs Saka: Who Is The Better Comedian? by Afam4eva(m): 4:57pm On Oct 11, 2014
This is a case of comparison gone bad. It's an insult to compare Saka with Osuofia. osuofia is in his own league and has himself as a competition. Even Mr Ibu that is in the clown industry just like Saka has to bow to superior authority. Only Sam Loco can be compared to osuofia and i may pick Samm Loco ahead of Osuofia.
CultureRe: Why African Men Are So Weak? by Afam4eva(m): 6:13pm On Oct 09, 2014
This is a topic that i'm always interested in. I have always wondered why Africa is the way it is. I've also wondered why the blacks in other advanced countries are not fairing like their fellow country men. The answer cannot be removed from slavery and colonialism.
CelebritiesHow Linda Ikeji Did Herself In by Afam4eva(op): 6:00pm On Oct 09, 2014
I'm really angry at the fact that Nigeria's largest and most popular blog has been taken off like it were any other blog. I think this is an insult and Linda Ikeji has only herself to blame for it. I don't know the exact blog post in contention here or if it's more than one but a blog as big as Linda Ikeji's should have taken plagiarism very seriously. It's simple, if you're going to plagiarise, yu should atleast give create to the orinigal owner of the content. Even if you are going to paraphrase, you still need to give credit to whom it's due. I agree with Linda Ikeji who said that her blog was witch-hunted but even if it was, she left some loopholes which those guys used to take her down. She's not the only plagiarist on the internet. Infact over 90% of Nigerian bloggers plagiarism their content without recourse to the ethical convention.

Now, the most annoying thing is not even the plagiarism but the fact that one of the top 5 most visited sites in Nigeria still uses a free blogging platform thereby being at the mercy of Google. I read a post on her blog some months back when she gave a very ridiculous excuse as why she has remained with blogger and i shook my head with utmost pity because i knew her comment was going to hunt and wala, it has happened. She was busy thinking like the average Nigerian and African business man who thinks of the now rather than the future. She was makiing a lot of money that she didn't not think of the implication of hosting such a behemoth website with Google. Her story should serve as a learning curve for other blogger, website owners and business people. Don't relax when you;re at the top. Look farther than your nose.
CelebritiesRe: Google Removes Linda Ikeji's Blog by Afam4eva(m): 4:48am On Oct 09, 2014
DonaldGenes:
But why evil?

~A question comes to mind; does google have the right or sole right to take down anyone's Site when Google itself is also a website just like any other site?

Can they take down Yahoo or Wikipedia?

I don't just get it! Who is in-charge of Hosting all the sites in this world?

Did "Linda ikeji" commit the said/allege Copyright Offence?

If true, she committed the offence, what happen to other 99% blogs that seems to commit the same offence?
Google does not have the right to take down sites that are not hosted with them but in this case, the free blogging platform that Linda uses is owned by Google. I think it's a dumb idea for her to have remained with blogger for this long giving silly excuses like, not wanting her site to get hacked. She was busy making money that she forgot to think like a business person.

SportsRe: Siasia Or Keshi: Who Do You Prefer? by Afam4eva(m): 3:45am On Oct 05, 2014
Keshi is definitely a better coach at grinding results but Siasia has more technical depth and tends to produce more enjoyable football with more scoring chances. But Keshi's results speak for him but i just don't like his lackadasical attitude when his team is playing. He behaves like he doesn't care about the outcome of the match and he also has some personal issues to deal with. How in the world can a coach drop players such as IK Uche, Sunday Mba and kelechi Iheanacho for relatively unknown and untested players.
FamilyRe: Is It Wrong For Parents To Display Affection In Front Of Their Children? by Afam4eva(m): 3:05am On Oct 04, 2014
There's nothing wrong with that. Infact it is super imperative for parents to display love in front of their children and showing love includes but not limited to kissing, hugging, sharing and playing together.

EducationRe: Why Do We Go To School? by Afam4eva(m): 4:42am On Sep 30, 2014
Most Nigerians go to school to become financially independent. Whoever tells you that they go to school acquire knowledge is right but that's not the entire story. What will the knowledge be used for if not to earn some money in paid employment.

History has shown that the brigtes students in class don't usually becoming the richest in life. They usually end up working for those guys that are not brilliant according to school parameters but are smart. Mavericks rule this world and if you're not a maverick, there's a certain level that you can get to.

Ujujoan: I would if I could. But common sense dictates here.
I don't think the young girl would have chosen this if she had a choice in the matter.
I could be wrong dou, because children of now a days sef.
There are more chances that she would have chosen to go to South African and do what she's doing than the opposite. Who doesn't want to travel abroad.
FamilyRe: Your Perspective On This Family Issue by Afam4eva(m): 11:20am On Sep 27, 2014
Ujujoan: It doesn't matter if he had a hidden interest in the lady. I will frown at such an arrangement too.

Now the girl is with the man, they are at his mercy. He could decide to back out of his promise to provide university education and they really can't do anything about it.

What if the girl gets pregnant now?

Its just too much of a gamble, and I'm honestly surprised you guys see nothing wrong in it.

Forcing a girl into marrying a man over 2ce her age in the name of poverty. Na wah.
I see something wrong in the whole arrangement and it's evident in my first post. It was a gamble on the part of her family. But the deed has been done and we can't assume that her sudden wealth is as a result of something ulterior on the part of the man. We have to give the man the benefit of the doubt because he has not done anything wrong YET. If it turns out that he's sleeping with the girl, there's really nothing the family can do. She is 19 and as such an adult and she the man has the right to be shine her congo if she agrees to it. Her destiny is now in her own hands.

FamilyRe: Your Perspective On This Family Issue by Afam4eva(m): 11:02am On Sep 27, 2014
At this point, it's safe to say that the man is generous. There's no reason to start being suspicious. As much as it may not be commonplace for emplyers to lavish money on their wards, there are still people who would go the extra mile to make their employees happy.

My only problem is with the girl's family and the typical Nigerian Christian family that tend to have trust in people who appear to want to help them without having it aat the back of their mind that something may go wrong. How do you send a 19 year old to an adult who is neither a family member of a friend. That's a risky thing to do. Our lust for money has blinded a lot of us into using out own hand to strangulate ourselves.

I know the literal translation of most of them and like you said, they're funny.

Are these slangs used in other Igbo cities though or is it limited to just Aba Ngwa?

Lilimax: She made every effort to confirm that Patrick Sawyer was suffering from was Ebola. You remembered that Mr Sawyer initially denied suffering from Ebola and moreso it was initially difficult to do the Ebola test in Nigeria being the first case in Nigeria. Dr Adadevoh ensured that the blood sample from Sawyer was sent to Unilag and later Senegal for further test.
If not for her firmness on her job, Patrick Sawyer would have escaped to Calabar and God knows what would have been the situation by now embarassed
I think she's worth immortalizing. smiley
I'm not taking anything away from her. I'm only making a case for others that worked just as hard and some also died in the process. Don't they deserve to be immortalized as well. They sacrificed their lives to a course and i don't think anyone should be put ahead of the other. Some people would say it's because those other doctors and nurses are not from prominent backgrounds.

GowonAbacha: A good idea but honestly, with all due respect to the dead, this woman is just too overrated. Comm'on many other doctors died and risked their lives in this fight.
I was gonna say this but wanted to be very careful in order not to incur the wrath of some people. With all due respect to the dead, i don't see how what this woman did is different from what was done by other doctors and nurses who sacrificed their lives to make sure th Liberian remained in the hospital. why pick her out of the lot?
Art, Graphics & VideoRe: The Biggest Mistakes Logo Designers Make by Afam4eva(m): 9:08am On Sep 25, 2014
If there's onne thing i've noticed about the logos of big corporation, it's the fact that it's unique more than anything. They may not have the most beautiful logos but their logos always stand out. Thery have the kind of logos that you see and say "This logo is easy to design". It only seems that way because someone else came up with the idea. It's always about the idea. Take a look at the BBC website for example, it seems very simple but very distinguishable from every other logo out there.

PoliticsRe: Ghana Has The Best English Accent In Africa - by Afam4eva(m): 4:45pm On Sep 22, 2014
If what you mean is that the Ghanian English accent is more similar to that of Britain then you're right. But accents mean absolutely nothing as you should sound like yourself and not someone else. Go and tell Americans, canadians, Australians and New Zealanders that their accents don't sound British and they will tell you that they're not British. The whole idea is to customize a language and it's accent the way you deem fit and not to copy everything. We are Nigerians and we speak Nigerian English with a Nigerian accent.
