PoliticsRe: Lagos APGA Candidate Asked To Speak Yoruba.(Video) by Afam4eva(m): 10:11am On Feb 06, 2015
eighTHREAD:
not being able to speak yoruba shows you know nothing about the land and its culture, hence you are not fit to rule. Would obama have been able to rule if he couldn't speak english? Yes, english is widely spoken in lagos state politics likewise other states, but how do you think they communicate with the grassroots and traditional leaders? To them you are a foreigner if you can't speak yoruba.
You people just make comparisons willy nilly without spoting the difference between both case studies. The official language of the US is English, so there's no way Obama could have qualified without knowing how to speak English. On the contrary, Yoruba is not an official language in Lagos or anywhere in Nigeria.

tbaba1234:
To be a Lagos governor, it is best for one to at least speak the local language. There are many Igbos in Lagos who speak yoruba fluently. Those are the kind of people Apga should present if they want to present an Igbo person.

To lead a people, you have to understand them and show that you are part of them. Would Okoriji be meeting Obas speaking English??

I believe anyone born in any state in Nigeria should be an indigene of that state or one who has lived a long time.

But I also been that to run for political office, that person must have assimilated into the local culture.
It is imperative that you understand what it means for a place to be cosmopolitan. Having Igbos, Yorubas, Fuanis etc living in one city does not make it cosmopolitan if this people have the same way of life. Meaning, if they all speak one language. The cosmopolitan nature comes in when people bring their languages and culture and make it a signature of the city.

Your second paragraph is also faulty because he will not be ruling only Yorubas but everyone who calls Lagos home.

Okay this is where the problem lies. Although I have not problem with him being of Igbo descent but he should be a Lagosian who has known the culture before he can aspire.

We can't have a governor who does not know how to deal with the traditional council na. You have traditional holidays and you must know them.

If you have lived here for that long, some things should not be difficult
We definitely have a very long way to go to reach the Nigeria of our dreams. The man actually played into the hands of those presenters who are not smart enough to know that one musn't speak Yoruba to govern Lagos. Are they dumb not to realize that English is Nigeria's official language and to aspire to any political position, an average competence in English is required. There's no doubt that it will be an advantage to be able to speak Yoruba since Yorubas still constitute the majority in lagos but it's not because Lagos is the language of the land. It will also not be a taboo is a Fashola or an Ambode earns Igbo, hausa or any other language just to show Non Yoruba Lagosians that he understands their Language. It irks me when supposed educated foks join illiterates such as those channels presenters to spew prejudice in the name of confirming whether someone is a Lagosisan or not. Lagos has no language. That's one of the reasons why i seem to be tilting towards a Buhari/Osibanjo candicay because they have promised to tackle the Indigene/setter dichotomy.

Flye:
I think Ambode is an emergency candidate of APC after pdp played religious card with them, for me i hope the best man who will do well for the people will win the election.
I was actually surprised they chose Ambode because i was hearing other names months back. I'm tempted to agree with you because the other names i was hearing were Muslim names. They could have gone for Ambode to appease the Christian population because the religious accusations against APC is something they can ignore.
CultureRe: Argument: Are African Americans Their Own Ethnic Group? I Say Yes. by Afam4eva(m): 3:43pm On Jan 31, 2015
We have to first understand what an ethnic group is before we assume the name or any group or otherwise. According to the Oxford dictionary, an ethnic group or ethnicity is a socially defined category of people who identify with each other based on common ancestral, social, cultural or national experience. So, i don't see why AA don't fit the description.

rebranded:
With the increasing Buhari momentum..APC focus seems to be solely on the Centre

I wish they win both, but after watching Ambode's debate with Jimi Agbaje. Ambode does not seem like someone that pays attention to details or have a clear plan on what to do with Lagos.

Clearly though PDP is out of Aso rock come May
After watching that debat emyself, i was wondering if Ambode was the best APC could come up with. Jimi Agbaje is without doubt light years ahead of him. Ambode was just clowning throughout the debate. But unfortuntely for Agbaje, Ambode will win in Lagos owing to the setup APC has in Lagos.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Nominates Obanikoro, Six Others As Ministers by Afam4eva(m): 3:24pm On Jan 31, 2015
I just don't understand what an Obanokoro is still doing in government. No wonder he was at Jimi Agbaje's campaign ground shining his teeth cos he knew something juicy was awaiting him for sacrificing the pdp candidacy to Agbaje. I wonder where we're headed in this country with people who have nothing to offer gallivanting around government establishments. Tufiakwa.
PoliticsRe: Buhari’s Supporters Are Silly And Unrealistic - Etcetera by Afam4eva(m): 3:22pm On Jan 31, 2015
Just when i thought that some Buhari supporters will read this article and do some soul searching but instead they chose to espouse the very silly nature that etcetera highlighted in this article. I can understand when street urchins asert such antiquated opinions but nothing irks me more than seeing supposed educated folks making such unheard submissions. As much as i no longer believe in a Jonathan's candidacy and seems to be inching towards a Buhari candidacy, i'm not stupid not to question why Buhari did not submit his certificate with his inec form or whether or not his certificate was forged. We have to holdout leaders and intending leaders accountable.

I just hate people who condemn the industry they work in. Same thing happened with bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan calling himself too modern for bollywood movies and he never watches it. If you condemn the industry that feed you and make you who you are today why don't you get your skinny black azzzz out of there? Fool.
Saif said that?

Seun:
Secession would have been beneficial to Igbos because of the oil in the Niger Delta region. Biafra would have been far richer than the other regions. But that is precisely why a peaceful secession was impossible. That is why Awo did not agree with Ojukwu's plan for the 3 regions of the country to split up; the plan would only have benefitted the South East. It's like trying to divorce your spouse after winning a huge fortune.
.
Are you implying that Awolowo would have prefered to form a country with the eastern region?
PoliticsRe: Jimi Agbaje Bought Food For Everybody At A Buka by Afam4eva(m): 12:50pm On Jan 26, 2015
99% of people he bought food for will definitely vote for him if they vote. It's not necessarily because of the food but the fact that they can relate with Agbaje more. They'llbe like "What has Ambode done for me that i should vote for him?". This re-enforces the greed that a lot of Nigerian voters have. They only look at what will benefit them personally and not the entire community. it is for the same reason why we vote for our village man, our church member, our brother's sister's brother without enumerating what he will bring to the table.

As for Agbaje and Ambode, the truth is that no one knows whether they will perform or not just like in the case of Fashola who was less popular than Koro but won and surprised everyone. I'm actually happy that for the first time PDP is presenting someone worth voting for. But i don't think that will be enough to make him win. They should have presented someone like Agbaje in 2007 instead of criminals.
PoliticsRe: Enugu, The Pride Of The East. by Afam4eva(m): 5:50pm On Jan 25, 2015
if Enugu continues like this, it will be force to be reckoned with in the next few decades. Enugu reminds me soo much pf Mauritius with it's beauty and tranquility. I hope this Ugwuanyi dude will take a leap from Sullivan and even surpass his achievements. Enugu has really been lucky with leaders. Chimaroake despite his shortcomings also contributed in no small measure to what Enugu is and Sullivan has taken Enugu to the next level. Nike Nike ka any ji alu olu. To God be the Glory.
Christianity EtcRe: Evil In The Church; My Experience At Dunamis, Abuja. (pictures) by Afam4eva(m):
The problem with Nigeria is the people and they exist in every facet of human endeavour, even in churches. You and the usher are the people that are responsible for dragging Nigeria backwards and you;re more to blame. It's not your business whether or not the gap between your car and other vehicles is as wide as sahara desert. Just obey simple instructions and stop arguing. I don't know why Nigerians think that because they possess some level of education they can argue just to prove that they are educated. Justs hut up and drive out. That's what you should have done but you chose to tow the path of insensitivity. God will obviously punish that usher. I wonder why creatures like that cannot go and usher in nightd clubs where they can beat people up instead of threatening people in a church. twa.

Nothing irks me like when i hear of wives denying their husbands sex. Like WTF? Open your legs for fvcks sake. Do you want him to look elsewhere and then you start complaining. This marriage has outlived it's usefulness. It should be dissolved asap.

it might be as a result of hormonal disorder, maybe you lack the ability to secrete enough testosterone into your bloodstream.

all i am trying to say is that, its not normal at all.
It's a psychological problem. The only reason why we attach sexual values to those female parts is because we were told that those parts were sexual. Had we been told that ears are sexy, i can assure you that we would be lining up for any female ear that we can get. It's all psychological. The OP's preference just so happens that it doesn't fall under popular sexual wisdom.

As long as he doesn't say that thing that attracts him in a woman apart from the front and back is her character, he is more than mature. My thought is that he has passed the stage of boobies and azz and have moved on to some pretty weird fetishes. I would really like to go into the mind of the OP.
PoliticsRe: Father Mbaka Saga: ’Mixing Religion With Politics Is Dangerous' -Cardinal Okogie by Afam4eva(m): 4:07am On Jan 12, 2015
Cardinal Olubunmi Okogie should park well. As much as i'm against mixing Religious with politics, these people are only calling out Mbaka because he did not favour their candidate. If he had said all those negative things about Buhari, no one would have said zilch.
CrimeRe: Photos Of Alleged Nigerians Languishing In Prisons In Angola by Afam4eva(m): 9:33am On Jan 10, 2015
Boss13:
What a shame. If your papers are not complete, go back home, why remain illegally in a strange country where you are not a resident. If you want to extend your stay, come back home and try doing so. We, nigerians, must stop giving our country a bad name. It is unfair to other responsible Nigerian citizens who may have good reasons to visit those countries.

I am currently in Mauritius enjoying the Xmas holidays. It is a beautiful island with diverse group of people, culture and religion. The good thing is that they really don't know nigeria so much as a country. Those who know, probably encountered Nigerians who came on vacations and left a good impression. Many of the locals think we are South Africans or Kenyans. They even complained South Africans give them little problems. I am so happy telling them I'm a Nigerian without a negative feedback. They are so inquisitive to know our country and when I tell them we have crude oil, they scream like "nigeria must be a rich place". We have also met some Nigerians here too (students on exchange programme). Overall, I think it is my responsibility to play my part as a responsible citizen and ambassador to my country and ensure that other Nigerians coming here in the future enjoy themselves and get to hear positive things about Nigerians like I have.

Let's us all be responsible citizens and ambassadors.
This is obviously a lie from the pit of hell or you've just not moved around. Nigeria is very popular in Mauritius.
TravelRe: Any Cheap Schools In Mauritus??? by Afam4eva(m): 4:47am On Jan 10, 2015
When you say cheap, what price range are you talking about? Just be aware the the average tuition fee in Mauritius is somewhere around 150,000 rupees which is approximately 800k Naira for one session.
