This is really sad if true. I really like the guy. |
igbo boy: Are you igbo? how can you say adaobi is first daughter of a chief ?When a lie goes for too long, it begins to sound like the truth. A lot of people have been made to believe that Adaobi means "First Daughter of the King". Anyways, i believe people can determine what the meaning of their names are but as far as history is concerned "Adaobi" literally means "First Daughter of the compound" which invariably could mean "First Daughter of the family". |
safarigirl: you mean Jordan? Technically that wasn't an International friendly since we used a home-based team and how can one loss by a slight margin have more effect than a 2-nil win and a 2-all draw against a top team like Italy? Did Italy also drop due to their endless draws?A team is a team in FIFA's dictionary. Even if you use Enyimba players to play for Nigeria against any team, it still counts as NIgeria. |
What's the name of that country that beta us recently in a friendly? I think our loss in that match is responsible for this. |
nedu210: Ugbo in AwguOk |
nedu210: its ahamefunaWhich part of Enugu are you from btw? |
#ComicRelief But no one has been able to prove that Ikwerres actually changed the names of their towns from "Umu" to "Rumu". Even if all Ikwerres accepted that they were Igbo, it doesn't mean their names must be exactly identical to those of other Igbo groups. There's a reason why some people bear Ahamefule as opposed to Afamefuna. It's just a dialectic difference. Everything musn't be the same before you know that two groups are the same. There will always be slight differences and the who "Rumu" nonenclature does not in anyway suggest that Ikwerres are not Igbo. I think we have to let these Ikwerre issue go really cos it's really tiring. Let the individual Ikwerre people decide who they wanna be. I know Ikwerre people who claim Igbo and those who don't and it's a matter of convenience. |
Shouldn't it be the other way around. |
Olife: True bro! Infact they av labelled my anti-christ! Occultic guy! When is d right tym to give quit notice? B4 rent xpires or immediately it expires.Lol...e no easy to be landlord oo. You'll be labelled with all sorts. But sey your hand clean? talk true ![]() |
nedu210: in my own part of enugu we use H not FI was gonna say that too. There are exceptions. I want to believe in your part of Enugu, it's Ahamefuna as opposed to Ahamefule or Ahamefula. |
Adaobi12: Ifechukwu all means light of God. Thats my little cousin's name. Her own is Ife(what)Chukwu(God)Kwuru(Said) and it's different from the popular Ifechukwu which means "Light of God". |
Most of those people may be employed but are looking for something better. The problem of Nigeria is not unemployment but the availability of a befitting employment that's commiserate with one's skill and level. |
Emma94: My native name is Barigbonyie meaning God comforter.Ogoni i guess? |
adaobi123: Isn't it ?Adaobi means "First Daughter of the compound". The "Obi" in it does not mean king as a lot of people think. |
safarigirl: cuz it's the Deltans that replace h with f as far as I know i.e Afam rather than Aham or Ife rather than IheAnambra, Enugu and Delta people use Afamefuna while Imo, Abia or Rivers people will use Ahamefuna, Ahamefula or Ahamefule |
R2bees: Toochukwu.. Meaning Praise GodMy sister's name...why did i think you were a Ghanian. |
adaobi123: Same with the opsWhat's the meaning cos her meaning is not exactly correct. |
safarigirl: @Afam, are you Delta Igbo? No. I'm from Enugu. Why do you ask? |
Mine is Afamefuna and it means My Name should not get missing #IGBO |
collynzo2: My point is, you didn't habe to bring up that issue on this thread. Armed robbers are sentenced to death in Nigeria, whether they killed or not as long as the are caught with arms. If you haven't protested against that you have no reason to make Oshiomhole look like the devil himself because he passed the same law against kidnappers. Or would you tell me that kidnappers do not operate with arms too? Since people haven't protested against that law since its existence, I fail to see how you concluded that such a law for kidnapping is against popular opinion.Let's leave this discussion for another thread. We're derailing this thread true true. |
And trust the overzealous attaches and personal assistants to show their talent. Who's that man that pushed the woman out of the bus? These people deserved to be taken in from of Oba etopaye and flogged continuously till the bleed out. |
collynzo2: Here I am telling you that mojority of the kidnappings I've read or heard about results in deaths, I have posted links, I can continue posting links all night if I have the time. It is left foe you to show me those ''majority'' that did not result in deaths. You're going back and forth. The point is not even whether most kidnappings result in deaths, the point is that even if the law was passed having kidnappers that have killed in mind, it doesn't make sense cos there are kidnappers that have not killed and are not planning to kill. It's like passing a law that anybody found in a beer parlor should be arrested just because some people of questionable characters visit beer parlors frequently. That's a daft law. And the Edo state government have not even come out to tell you that the law was passed due to the fact that some kidnappers kill people, so we shouldn't be speculating. The law is for kidnappers and not for killers hence the reason why it was sensational in the media. |
collynzo2: These are just a few of the most recent cases of kidnap and drivers or security operatives were killed. Like I said most of you are so fixated on the principal target, you don't usually notice the lives lost.3 of the l.nks you posted are not from the SS and SE that i specifically alluded in my previous post. The one about Rebecca Aikhomu could as well have not been a ransome kidnapping as the last newS i heard about the issue, the kidnappers had not contacted the family. That's not even the point, the point is that majority of ransom inspired kidnappings don't end up in deaths save for a few and the law passed by Oshiomole is for for those kidnappers that have killed but for all kidnappers which includes first time kidnappers that have not killed anyone. So, even highlighting people who have been killed in the process of kidnapping does not hold water. |
Where is all these money coming from. I thought Obi said there was no money. I heard him lamenting in Asaba that he has not built a new government house and will manage the one at Anambra's disposal because the state is not as rich as Delta it's neighbor. All of a sudden, money is been spent with reckless abandon. |
nutty_hnic: Afam forget that guy...a governor that will pass death sentence will definitely tell a widow to go and die. That's the point that i was trying to make. |
collynzo2: That is probably because you and others do not value the lives of ''mere'' drivers and security operatives. As long as the principal target was released unharmed you scream ''thank God'' forgetting that a driver and probably some security operatives were killed in the process, not me, I take note of every life lost.Like i said, you're lying. Point to me where majority of kidnappings have resulted in the drivers and security operatives being killed save for few cases. We're talking majority man. These kidnappers that kidnap for ransome are not interested in killing anyone because that will spoil their show. |
kmariko: The biggest "free country USA" very much has it in the books. The only region that have tended to abolish it is only west Europe. So it's not universal as you seem to suggestOnly few states in the US still do the death penalty. I remember a few years back a stadium that was named after former California governor and former Hollywood star, Arnold Schwarzenegger in Austria was rescinded because a death penalty occurred in his state of California. More countries are abolishing it by the day and your dear country is trying to introduce it for crimes such as kidnapping. |
Philistine: It's most unfortunate for a former labour leader to react the way he did.oshiomole seems to have lost it's senses since he started fraternizing with the likes of Tinubu and Buhari. This is the result of wrong Association.Has Tinubu ever made such a statement anywhere? This is Oshiomole's action and let it be about him. |
collynzo2: Kidnappers kill hundreds of policemen and drivers in the process of kidnapping, don't they? There is hardly any kidnapping case I hear of that the driver of the person involved or a security man attached to him or her isn't killed. Sometimes the engage policemen in shoot outs and kill a lot.My friend stop lying. Most kidnapping cases especially in the SS and SE don't result in killing as the kidnappers are mostly interested in the kidnapped paying some money to them. So, the law if for kidnappers whether or not they have killed. |
crownfits: Our leaders are not the only problems that we have... We gan gan we be problem for ourselves. We hide behind pity for everything. The "GO AND DIE" remark was very wrong but is anyone blaming the woman for not following he law? Law is law and must be followed... It's just that some people act above the law just because of the system problem.Nwoke, this is not about whether or not the woman broke the law and i personally, i'm not holding brief for the woman as Nigerians are known to break the law but under no circumstance should a governor utter such words. It is not only barbaric but satanic. it goes to shows that the governor has been worshiping satan behind closed doors. In the advanced world, people resign for saying things that are not even as vile as what the governor has said. I'll advise that you don't shift the goal post. |
