Gombs: Answer my latter question sirBecause i've never seen them do it. Why don't you prove otherwise. |
0monnakoda: You are a liar .Track back I QUOTED you . You used the word; YORUBLAND . I said the word Yorubaland did dot appear. If you want to change that do so formally not with what I have bolded in this latest quote which only reveals your dishonesty. Other readers can see through your liesWhether it's Yorubaland or Yoruba, what's the difference? What's your point exactly. Stop gallivanting and make your opinion lucid enough. |
Pataki: So simply because the word ''Yoruba'' is mentioned, it gets thrown into the Ethnic section?!Who said this? It's obvious you've not been paying attention. Read my previous posts. |
0monnakoda: Just wondering why these threads are in the Politics section and not the Ethnic/Tribal SectionStop embarrassing yourself. Tell me when Enugu, Imo, Okorocha and Chime became names of ethnic groups. |
Gombs: Doctors n nurses do that, it is nothing special....y would you think pastors wont do that?Do doctors touch people like that without their gloves on? And is it not the job of doctors to do that? if they don't touch the diseased(though with gloves on), then who will? |
0monnakoda: This is ridiculous rubbish. First the word Yorubaland does NOT APPEAR in the thread. So that is a LIE. This is YOUR OWN spin.Nowhere does Yoruba appear in the thread? let me help you out FOREMOST Ijaw leader and politician, Chief Edwin Clark, has said that Chief Obafemi Awolowo was instrumental to the rapid development of the Western states and the Yoruba nation as a whole. Clark stated this in Abuja during the Southern.Nigeria Peoples Assembly (SNPA) meeting held to articulate the position of the assembly in the forthcoming national conference. SNPA is made up of leaders of thought from the South-East, South-West and the South- South geopolitical zones. Clark further stated that the agitation for national conference was not new, saying that the call had been on long before now especially from the Yorubas. According to him, “ the demand for national conference did not start during the Jonathan government, it is an age-long demand particularly by Western Nigeria. “But no government had the courage to listen to Nigerians particularly when they heard sovereign, they thought it was a move to overthrow their government. “We should commend the then three regional leaders, who fought for the nation’s independence, particularly Awolowo who brought great development to the Western region, that is why they are the most educated and enlightened.” Speaking further on the need for the dialogue, the elder statesman noted that, “Nigeria belongs to all of us. This country was made one by our colonial masters and they didn’t say either north or south should be superior or inferior to the other. There is no country in the world where some people are second class and others are first class citizens so we must sit down and discuss the basis of our unity in this country.” Now, you can move the goal post. Goodluck with that. |
0monnakoda: In any public role if you constantly stir up and provoke anger and conflict you need to assess yourself and your position. Afam should do the honourable thing and quitLol You'll be very lucky to see me quit in your dream let alone online. I wonder why some of you never get tired. |
femogbangba: Afam your reply still lacks clarity and sounds a tad dubious. Perception or emotions should not be a tool in accessing whether a thread should be in Politics or the sectarian section- do you have a template or a guide to make such decisions? It sounds funny to me that 2 Ibo Mods are insisting a thread about Enugu is fit to be in the Politics section and a thread about the impact of Awolowo on the Old Western region which includes present day Delta and Edo states should be placed in the sectarian section.Stop being mischievous. I gave reasons why the thread belongs to that section and i never mentioned that it was moved their due to perception or emotions. The ethnic section is not for tribal abuse like some of you think. It's a section created specifically for ethnic or sectional related threads and that thread fits that definition perfectly. |
Someone who hasn't clocked a billion is richer than Dangote? He should be competing with Tiger Woods. He's still a very long stretch from Dangote. |
Thank God Lagos did not make the cut. |
That one na double wahala for dead body. We've not finished solving our problems as big as we are and we now want to add more problems by having not just 3 major ethnic groups but also 2 official languages. My hand no dey. |
Where are the rest? |
femogbangba: So you are confirming that a Mod could decide to place it in the politics or ethnic section depending how they feel. Not on how mods feel but on how they perceive a particular thread. That thread is actually more ethnic than political and i think the right decision was made. There's even nothing developmental in that thread. It was just mentioned passively and was meant to Extoll the Yorubas and Yoruba is an ethnic group and that's why the Thread belongs in the Ethnic section. |
femogbangba: This thread https://www.nairaland.com/1508835/awolowo-responsible-developments-todays-western is meant to highlight the impact of Awolowo in the development of the Southwest of Nigeria as explained by Edwin Clark- why does it not belong to the Politics section? That thread could actually belong to the Ethnic section or the poltiics section depending on the disgression of a particular mod. That thread talked a lot about Awolowo, being responsible for the development in Yorubaland and the fact that Yorubas have been at the forefront for the call of a National conference. |
femogbangba: I am not sure you even understand the meaning of those words ^^^That thread is meant to highlight the developmental strides of the Enugu state Government and as such, belongs to this section. |
Gombs: Fixed...true healing is from God through whoever believes in ChristIt's obvious you've not been paying attention. I wasn't talking about the performing a miracle cos no miracle happened. He just layed his hand on a sick man and that's what i'm emphasizing on. How many pastors will agree to touch the body of a diseased person. |
The only reason why criminality is rife in Nigeria is because we have refused to advance technologically. We need to stop carrying cash and conduct our transactions electronically. That way, criminals will have nothing to steal. |
I don't know why despite Nigeria's huge population in London, our fans have difficulty making their presence felt when we play in London. I remember when we played ghana some years back in London, there were more Ghanian fans than Nigerian fans yet we have more population than them in London. If it's Nottinghill festival now, they'll attend. |
We've not had light for 72 hours now. I wonder if they've started the rationing as if we've not been rationing all this while. |
homesteady: Taaa!! portugal must not qualify! Why? It's like you don't want a competitive world cup. |
Joagbaje: Is he healed? Is not by empty touching.God cures the sick and not the pastors. Is the gesture that's most important to me. This is definition of selflessness and love for the common man. The Pastors in Nigeria are only interested in fleecing the poor of the poor on the alter of private jet and neglecting the tenets of Christianity which includes love. |
I just hope Portugal qualifies. Sweden is really gonna be tough. |
They're actually right because Rochas was neither a member of ACN or CPC, so he couldn't automatically have become a member of APC. He has to wait until he's accorded the privilege. As of right now, he's a man without a party. It's only in Nigeria that someone without a party is a Goverbor. |
pazienza: This doesn't make sense in any form at all. Flavour still sings in igbo and his music still sell all over Africa, before that Psquare always had the habit of singing in 'Engliigbo', songs like 'ifunnanya' 'beautiful onyinye' 'I love you' 'bunie ya enu',etc are heavily mixed with igbo. Culture wise, our Igbo culture is the most known throughout Africa, courtsey of our success with Nollywood. Economics, igbos are doing ok in that aspect, wealth in igboland is relatively evenly distributed. Lagos/Abuja was/is Nigerian capital, no part of igboland had ever been the capital of nigeria, so i don't understand how that could become an issue now.So, if you're asked to list Igbo songs, you'll list Flavour and Psquare's music. How low have our standards fallen. These songs are usually not more than 30% Igbo yhet you classify them as Igbo music. How much English did the likes of Osadebey and Oliver De Coque use in their songs? Our standards about what Igbo should be have taken a nose dive that any song that has "Bia" or "Chineke" in it is classified as an Igbo song. |
I'm boiling as i'm watching this video. It the responsibility of the Nigerian government to take an expedient action to curtail this idiocy. These Indains are in this country fleecing our economy and maintaining a high social status and over there in India they treat our people worse than dirt. Something has to be done. We can't remain the laughing stock of the world. people think they can just disrespect Nigerian the way they like and get away with it. No human being should be humiliated the way the guy was humiliated. Even if he stole something, that's not enough to subject him to such treatment. |
CyberG: What is wrong with the statement? They are asking for EQUALITY but you disagree, what do you propose instead? INEQUALITY??How is that equality. Were the regions created with eye for equality or were they created to give a certain region an advantage over others? The conference should be based on ethnicity which is natural as against regions and every ethnic group no matter how big or little should have the same number of delegates. |
This is the height of wickedness. @OP what are you doing keeping such a person as a friend. If she goes ahead with her evil plans, are you aware that you'll be an accessory before the fact? Some women are devil incarnate and deserve to be shot with their mouths open. The heart of woman is desperately wicked, who can know it. |
They added that representation should be on the basis of equality of the geo-political zones — North-West, North-East, North-Central, South-West, South-East and South-South.I disagree with this. Why should it be as a result of zones that are unequal. Isn't that what we're going to be discussing the conference? |
Where's Olugbenga Ashiru when you need him. |
The Saraki dynasty is very much alive. Whoever thinks otherwise... |
Nigerian women can be heartless when dealing with children that's not theirs. Just last week i saw how one woman gave her neighbor's daughter a heavy knock on the head because her neighbor's daughter and her own daughter fought and these kids are of the same age group. Is she can do this to her neighbor's daughter, how much more someone that was given to her to do as she pleases. I wonder why Nigerian women are like this. To think that these same people will come on Nairaland to be telling us how their husbands maltreat them both would to same to others in a more sever manner. I think the government should ban under-age housekeeping. Anybody that wants to enslave any child in the guise of adoption or helping the child should be registered and followed up. The heart of |
