safarigirl: @Purplehubs, any of Nig, CIV, Ghana or even Senegal can win Portugal, Uruguay and even Spain with just a little extra effort. In the 2010W/C Argentina could only score a controversial goal against a less-than-average Nigerian side. Now that some Africans are hiring indigenous coaches, they're playing better football e.g Nigeria and Ghana, we deserve more slots, at least 6 or 7. I was just about to start a topic on this, even at the U-17 level, we have just 4, why not 5? All 4 African reps made it to the next round, the only continent to achieve that. Africa's football is good, we've earned an extra spot.Playing better football and getting results are two different things. African teams are not getting the results at the world cup and not until they do that, their slots will/should not be increased. |
This is a DNS problem. I hope Jide is aware of this. |
That black man is simply doing his job. He's paid to do so and he's not doing it cos those guys are white. Though we can agree that some black people show some level of inferiority complex among whites. I remember one security guard that i dash money all the time. I came around one day to see him holding umbrella for a chinko under the sun. he has never even opened door for me before(not that i need it anyways). |
Rossikk: If China is producing Addidas sneakers then the Addidas sneakers it produces are CHINESE PRODUCTS.This brings us back to the example i made previously juxtaposing "Made in China" products and "Chinese Made" products. The former does not count as the country's exports because in most cases, most of the shares are owned by foreigners. |
Rossikk: In the world of economics and commerce there is NO DIFFERENCE between the two. Shut up and learn something new for once in your life.Dude, don't be stubborn to acquiring new knowledge. Don't let your ego get in the way of being schooled on para-economics. Don't say these things you're saying outside, so that you don't get mocked. learn now and be free. My classes are free. |
Mudley313: mi sef dey wonda...n surprisingly he's the one bragging about education fundamentals of international trade n commerceThe thing tire me ooo. Even a toddler knows this but Rossike doesn't, yet he wants to lecture someone else. |
Rossikk: OF COURSE IT IS A NIGERIAN PRODUCT. ANY ITEM MADE IN NIGERIA IS A NIGERIAN PRODUCT!!!! GET THAT INTO YOUR HEAD!!! Why are you anti-knowledge? You are reasoning like a village-raised guy!You don't know the difference between a "Nigerian made product" and a "Made in Nigeria product". You're obviously the one who needs some education. |
Rossikk: Sorry, this has nothing to do with ''patriotism''. I am teaching you the very fundamentals of international business and commerce. You're clueless.I think you're blowing hot air cos it has no bearing on what we're discussing. You're implying that since a company is located in Nigeria and exports products, it then implies that the product in question is a Nigerian product. Are you aware that Shell Nigeria is a subsidiary of Shell and is a Dutch/British company? Do you know what a multi-national company is? |
Rossikk: You're talking absolute garbage. Go and learn economics and stop embarrassing yiurself with this beer parlour reasoning. The business world does not differentiate between the nationalities/race of staff when stating if a country manufacturesd this item or that. Such reasoning occurs only in your ''I am black and therefore worthless'' head.I have learned something new today. I wonder why Nigerians keep saying Nigerian companies don't export when we have Shell and Chevron. I dey laughing. One day this your ogbanje patrotism will wounjure you. |
Enugu invented and prepares the best Abacha ![]() |
Rossikk: You are an economic illiterate. If Shell opens a petrochemical factory and starts to mass produce for local and export markets, it means NIGERIA exports petrochemicals. You're the one who's ignorant. Are you aware that there's a difference between a Chinese made product and a "Made in China" product? While the latter is a product made in China by just about anyone. I think General Motors now have a factory in China(or so i think). But that does not take away the fact that it is still an American product. A Chinese made product is one that originates from China and is manned mainly by Chinese people in China. Maybe if Dangote opens a factory in London, it will automatically become a UK company. Shioor. |
Most people with poverty of the mind are usually economically poor and most times are not educated unlike their rich counterparts who are educated on things like this. For poor people, as long as the woman is not barren, babies will keep popping out. |
atlwireles: Not trying to get involved in your fight. But I know for a fact, Nigeria exports cements, Iron rods, plastics, plywood, tons of beers and paints to west Africa countries.. Just go to seme border and see the trailers crossing with Nigerian goods. At least we have to start from somewhere. I'm not disputing the fact that Nigeria may be exporting some of it's wares to neigboring West African countries but we're talking global. |
Rossikk: For goodness sakes, Gulder and Star are MANUFACTURED BY NIGERIAN BREWERIES PLC!!!! What the hell is wrong with you? What is this crap about Alabukun? Your inferiority complex stinks.I thought we were talking about Guiness as opposed to Gulder and Star. Just tell us about an authentic Nigerian product that's selling big team all over the world or at least in some parts of the world. Very soon you'll tell us that Shell Nigeria exportation is a sign that Nigerian products are being exported. |
Rossikk: First it was ''Nigeria does not export ordinary toothpicks''. After that's been shown to be beer parlour rubbish, you then emerge with ''oh it is a multinational company''. A load of absolute rubbish of course, because a country's exports are a country's exports, regardless of who 'owns' the companies manufacturing those exports, and secondly because Guinness Nigeria is a NIGERIAN company which is a a subsidiary to a UK firm.Maybe you'll tell us that foreigners visiting google.com.ng is also a form of exporting. These products are seen as what they are and that is their brand name and not the country the particular product was produced. Like i said, let me know when Alabukun starts selling big time in UK and the US. |
Rossikk: Dude I am too old to lie. This is why I say you need to leave your comfort zone in Naija and travel out. THEN you will know the impact and influence of Nigeria, something you grotesquely underestimate. Here's a piece on Nigerian Guinness, our ODEKU, sold openly in the UK:What quantity of these Guinness beers are sold in the UK and i hope you're aware that Guiness is a multinational company and not a Nigerian company. When you find shops in the UK where Alabukun is being sold, let me know...Meanwhile, no one can be too old to lie. Infact, just like wines, the older the better. You're a lying legend ![]() |
The idiocy in government is mind bugging. Why don't this government understand that Nigeria is a secular country and as such should not be erecting worship centers with state funds. Is the katsina government aware that there are Christians, traditional worshipers and atheists in the state? Governors just highlight their idiocy to the entire world and get away with it. This shows that some of our leaders have a medieval mentality riddled with quantum stupidity espoused by a religious over-zealousness. This is totally unacceptable. |
Rossikk: I'm not surprised you think that Nigeria exporting manufactured items is ''a lie''. Have you ever stepped out of your comfort zone into anywhere in Africa? I can swear you've not visited ANY country in Africa. You know zilch. So keep quiet and be educated by thiose of us who move around. Even in LONDON you have Nigerian manufactured items everywhere, especially beer, stout, textiles, etc.You can lie walahi. One of these days lie will give you a heavy uppercut for being over-ambitious with your lies ![]() |
torres2: thank God you posted. That signifies a win for usI'll be back to laugh at you and your chelsea ![]() |
Rossikk: Why do some of you feel you have to insult the nation with every comment or issue? It's pathetic. Nigeria produces and exports a whole lot more complicated items than stupi.d ''toothpicks'' as any visit to a Ghanaian, Ivorien or Senegalese market will show you. Do you know we export paint, chemicals, motor-parts among other high value items? Try and move around and learn a few things about your country instead of typing retar.ded crap.Your comment should not be surprising to anyone. Even if satan stands up tomorrow to say Nigeria is moving forward, i can count on it that you'll tell satan "Oga, you're spot on". When are we going to start telling ourselves the truth. Why must you always tell lies to make Nigeria seem to be what it's not? |
barcanista: bros you mean say the babe fine?Maybe it doesn't affect you the way it affects her. She's a Nigerian American and such utterance gives a very bad image to Nigerians especially those in America. |
baby-boy:You don put your own Jara. Was anything said about magazines in the definition you gave abi na your own salt and pepper you dey add? What does being fascinated by the public mean? Which public are we talking about. if Genevieve goes to Portugal, will she receive public fascination? No, she won't cos most people from Portugal don't know her but it will be a different case if she's in Nigeria. The same thing applies to Writers who fascinate their fans. I will be fascinated upon seeing Chimamamda or Wole Soyinka, so that makes him a celebrity. The word "Celebrity" is a very big word. Don't make it look small. |
CFCfan: An African team has made the quarters on 2 consecutive occasions, while the best CONCACAF performances have been only Round of 16 appearance in the same period. If an African team makes the quarters next year, and no team form CONCACAF does the same, thenit would be justification for CAF's slots to increase to 6.Granted that Africa may have performed better than the concacaf region, but i don't think that's enough to give her more slots. African teams at the world cup haven't done anything spectacular at the world cup to deserve more slots. What we have are just few moments of brilliance by African teams and that does not correlate to collective achievements. |
CFCfan: I disagree. The likes of Nigeria, CIV, Ghana, Egypt, Burkina Faso and Cape Verde/Senegal deserve a world cup spot.If they deserve a world cup spot then they should fight for it on the field of play. Until African teams start doing very well at the world cup, only then should our spot be increased. Most times African teams don't make it past the group stage, so on what ground should the spot of Africa be increased? |
Nigerian that doesn't export toothpick wants to export dishes. Even the Nigerian restaurants abroad mostly target Nigerians and some Africans. It's not until you sell your brand that people will patronize you. |
African football is not really improving, so i don't think the slots of Africa should be increased. It's for the good of the game. |
