funkybaby: ''WE''My Father is Ijebu while my mother is Igbo. I never lived with my father, that's why i embrace my Igbo side more. |
Pataki: Omo inna claiming Yoruba?!Can you prove that i'm "Omo Nna". Go to my family compound in Ago Iwoye and ask about me. Se iwo no je omo Ijebu ni? |
speedyboi: you are just one in a lot of people! I'm sure few people will also scream over her in that premiere as well. But you can never compare it to when it's Genny or Omo T! Gerrit?Celebrities are people that are celebrated in whichever way. The fact that the handwork of Chimamanda is being celebrated, that makes her a celebrity. Same for other relatively known writers globally. People mustn't scream on top of their voice for someone before that person is considered a celebrity. |
Pharoh: You don't decide the destiny of any group of people, they decide it themselves and we are whatever we refer ourselves to be. At the end of the day those who want to be called Igbo will have to go their own way and those who do not want to be referred to as Igbos will go their own way as well. Also, speak for yourself and not for the entire Anioma like you've been doing. You're not Igbo. All well and good but pls don't speak for other people. Pharoh: You do not understand our issues concerning this topic so i will just leave it as it is and not bring it up for discussion with you.If you were not going to educate us of how Igbos have been rubbing Delta-Igbos then why did you bring it up. Except of course it's one of those lies that people tell to give their Igbo denial some credibility. |
We Ijebus sure know how to party. I'll be at the next Ojude-Oba festival with my camera. |
Pharoh: So in essence Anioma got nothing to do with the focus of southeast Igbos during the secession of eastern Nigeria in 1967, so why are you loosing sleep over them in 2013?. If you really understood the position of the pro Aniomas from page 1 to 100 then you would know that one of the most important thing for us is not to be in the same state, region, zone or country with you people. We care less if we are eventually called german igbos, aniomas or dubai igbos. How does Secession of the former eastern region which is a political movement got to do with Igbo, the cultural group. Even though they seem like inseparable siamese twins, they can be independent of each other. And you also mustn't be in the same region with Igbos even in Nigeria but that won't change your cultural makeup. That's what this thread aims at highlighting and not whether Anioma should be merged with the South-East...It's also imperative to note that just as you're not a fan of being called Igbo, a huge number of Delta-Igbos are also not disposed to being called Anioma and a lot of them just like someone i met during the week doesn't even know that a word like "Anioma" exists and he's from Ogwashi-uku. Anioma will continue being what it was created for and that is to unite the Igbo speaking people of Delta state and it will never and i repeat, never be regarded as an ethnic group. Pharoh: It has always been mostly about the numbers, resources and land, we see through it even if they deny it till tomorrow.I'm tey to understand how Igbos in the South-East will manage to take the land and resources of the Anioma people like you guys have been positing. Is there an event that you can point me to? Because this seems like a lie that has gone for too long and is beginning to sound like the truth because it has not been challenged. Tell me how other South-East Igbos have managed to share the minute oil resources in Imo and Abia state? Have Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi beiing getting allocations based on the oil in Abia? Are these states members of NDDC due to the fact that their fellow Igbos are NDDC members? I hope you throw more light to this issue about land and resources grabbing and cite examples of how it has happened in the past. |
Is someone implying that the owners of those houses will not be settled? |
RIP...i wonder how he felt knowing that he was gonna die anything soon. |
Imanuelle: The woman on blue looks like onyeka nwenu (I'm not sure of the spelling )That woman is most likely Onyeka Onwenu. With the build, you would know. @topic Chimamanda is beautifully African. |
Pharoh: What do you lose if you regard yourself as an anioma and not igbo? why was anioma not included in biafra?.How could they have been part of Biafra if they were not in the eastern region. Contrary to what a lot of people think, Biafra was not an Igbo creation. It's just because Igbos made up the majority of the eastern region, so people equated Biafra and Igbo. All Igbos musn't be in one country. There's nothing that says Anioma people must be in the same country with their brothers from across the NIger but they'll always remain Igbos even if they join Burkina-Faso. Always learn to differentiate between a an ethnic group from a country. |
Allohrandy: I think Baltimore is not really bad. But I will never advice anyone to move to Michigan State. Detroit has the highest unemployment rate in America; the unemployment rate is like 40% and the city of Detroit is currently bankrupt and cant pay its bills. Plus the crime rate in Michigan State is really high.I have a friend who's schooling in Detroit. He says he can't wait to live that place cos his life is threatened by the crime and unemployment. Things can only get worse for Detroit except something is done. |
Psquare's son looks cleaner and cuter but wizkid's son has that Street credibility to his demeanor. |
lertee: You are welcome babe. Nigeria is fun and filled with goodies. So many diverse culture with more than 250 ethnic groups.Pls, do you mind opening a new thread and telling Nigerians what these goodies are cos a lot of Nigerians are without jobs and won't mind these goodies that they don't seem to see ![]() |
@OP Thanks for the list. Are you who i think you're? |
Allohrandy: No. most blacks in East Oakland are not that rich and are more like medium income blacks. Atlanta and DC is the 'Mecca' of rich and successful blacks. In CA, most rich blacks are located in southern CA ( Greater Los Angeles Area) in cities like Carson and Torrance. while cities like Oakland, Compton and Watts have a high number of low income blacksThe truth is, one cannot seperate low or medium income black neighborhood with crime. Same with low income white neighborhoods. Pooor people have more propensity to become criminals. That's why cities like Baltimore, Detroit, Cleveland and New Orleans always make the list of the most dangerous cities in America. |
I will be doing a DNA test soon to find our what country I came from but I believe I am Nigerian! What happens if it comes out negative? I just hope you don't cheat to make sure it comes out with you being a Nigerian ![]() Welcome though. |
Allohrandy: I live in East Oakland, CA. Its a major city with a big sea port in northern CA and very close to SF. Its a predominantly black American city with a relatively large Nigerian community. its the home of hip pop in California and great rappers like Tupac, MC Hammer, Keyshia Cole and other East Coast rappers were born and raise in Oakland, CA. The crime rate is high in West Oakland but its relatively safe in East Oakland and surrounding counties or towns. A Nigerian lady was fatally shot to death last year in Oakland. however, I think the crime rate in Oakland has reduced because a new police chief was employed by the City Mayor this year. Oakland, CA is not a bad place to live tho because it has a very high black population. Are most of the blacks in East Oakland like their folk in Atlanta(Rich) or like Blacks in Baltimore(not soo rich)? |
VillageBoi: Episode 3 isn't out yet. The episodes air on Sundays, hence we stumble back here mainly on MondaysAhh, ok. |
Bayern has got to be the most wicked team this season. I wish they will somehow meet chelsea and r.ape them. That's if chelsea qualifies from their group. |

PhysicsQED: Glad to see that the intensity of the show is picking up early on.The first time i saw him and heard him talk in season 3, i knew he was gay. He looks macho and all but has a very soft spot. I wish he could take a cue from T-Bag(wish he was still around). |
Nigeria may just implode in no distant future. before it was soldiers fighting with policemen and now police fighting police. I wonder what is next. |
Okija_juju: NO!!It can be fun. I only go to game houses when i'm looking for a stiff challenge. At a point, i was tired of always trashing my 20 year old sister. I think that's embarassing, imo. |
Katsumoto: That's the only el classico there is.Of course. By "El Classico", i actually meant the most competitive matches. |
When citizens go all out to protest the expulsion of foreigners from their country, calling themselves racists and getting support from important personalities in government then you know the country is serious about getting rid of foreigners. This is the Israel that a lot of people don't know about. I can tell you that all Arab countries tend to be more welcoming than Israel yet it's the Arabs that are always being taunted in the media and by people all over the world. |
shymexx: ModsYou didn't have to delete your post. All you could have done was is report the spam posts and they would be taken care of. |
Jbluv55: I wud have completely agreed to the bolded but I'm a bit too objective and so I disagree. My reasons? Not far-fetched.......tell me how many threads have been opened asking you or OAM4J to go if there are any? How many threads have asked jay bee or Ogugua88 to go?I think you're knew. Every mod has their fans and haters and no one is left out. |
Gbawe: Seun better fire his Mods and get new ones. A thread as comical as this only belongs in the joke section. It's comical because it doesn't sit well with you. |
Kairoseki77: I have only received one 3 day ban in my 1 1/2 year on this forum (aside from spambot bans). And it was not recent. With this account or all your accounts put together? ![]() |
