@TOPIC There is a clause in the PIB that gives the Minister of Petroleum the discretion to award Oil Prospecting or Mining Leases without bidding. Meaning that she can continue to do what she just did. This woman has acces to more wealth than any other government official, including the President. She has so deeply entrenched herself in that office, she has absolute control over the assets that give the country the bulk of its revenue. As the owners of 55% of those blocks, they control billions of dollars in annual profit. If they decide to sell of part of the blocks or part of the equity in those blocks, they will receive billions of dollars instantly. This is very dangerous, they have the capacity to enslave the nation. If they offer the Senators N100bn, the investigation goes away, the press forget about it. Remember, they can afford it. Please, let's monitor this and not let it die, because its too important. Follow these guys lead, because if this happens in every local government of the Federation, this country will change sharp sharp!!! |
coogar: you lack cognitive reasoning......You said "prison violence is at barest minimum", I was just disputing that with the example of my brother. You then said I was lying about my brother so I presented some articles that highlight the violence in the UK prison system just like prisons are violent all over the world. How would a place that houses criminals not be violent? With regards to overcrowding, the articles may be written by liberals but they quote reports. In one of them, a report by the Chief Inspector of Prisons is what is quoted as saying "Winchester jail holds 680 prisoners in cells meant for 500". The Chief Prisons Inspector goes on to say "The prison suffered many of the problems typical of local jails. It was seriously overcrowded and the resources to do with a challenging and needy population were very stretched." But I guess you know better than the Chief Inspector of Prisons who is an appointee of a CONSERVATIVE government, or maybe you are talking from first hand experience as a prison guard or inmate. |
@Coogar - "As at the time of writing, HMP Durham could not confirm if he was convicted of any crime". You said he was charged with 3 crimes, where do you get your information from ![]() MUMU |
coogar: your brother was hospitalised and nearly died of what? stop telling porkies. overcrowded prisons my foot - the maximum number of lags in a cell is 2. enhanced prisoners even get to keep a single cell!1- To just accuse me of lying based on nothing is also not a way to argue and quite immature. Here are some articles that highlight violence in UK prisons: Drugs, alcohol and violence all rife at Lincoln Prison - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/law-and-order/9736369/Drugs-alcohol-and-violence-all-rife-at-Lincoln-Prison.html Knife fights, drug problems and visits from mum... inside the UK's toughest youth prison - http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/inside-the-uks-toughest-youth-prison-799120 Winchester prison's violence and drug problems revealed in report Concerns raised by chief inspector of prisons over Victorian facility that holds 180 more inmates than it should - http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2013/mar/20/winchester-prison-violence-drugs 2 - "Most prisons are overcrowded - Prison Reform Trust" - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19395427. I just had to google "overcrowded prisons" for that. 3- "Metropolitan police still institutionally racist, say black and Asian officers" - http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/2013/apr/21/metropolitan-police-institutionally-racist-black. |
coogar: uk prisons are like hotels, mate!My brother was hospitalised and almost died the second time he went into HMP (wormwood scrubs), so UK prisons are not hotels with violence at the barest minimum. You're talking of overcrowded prisons housing some of the most violent and dangerous people in the country and you don't think it will be violent ![]() And why does it have to be immigration or drugs charge? The British Police are known (and it has been documented in the Lord Macpherson's inquiry into the death of Stephen Lawrence) to be institutionally racist. he may have been picked up and arrested no good reason |
No marketing please, just your honest experience of networks in your area. |
I got a 3rd class and even though I went to school abroad, did a masters and with about eight years of cognate experience in my field I still can not apply for most professional jobs in Nigeria. The job I have at the moment (a subsidiary of a govt institution) came through God's intervention as at the time I was really desperate, but there's no way I will stay here until retirement. SO, By the grace of God, I will leave paid employment and start my own biz this year. Just because you got a low grade in Uni, years ago when you were a completely different person, it's like you should say goodbye to ever getting a decent job in Nigeria ![]() SET UP YOUR OWN BIZ!!! |
ABSOLUTE RUBBISH!!! This is another example of the way Lagos State extort money from its citizens. Is a license to drive not enough ![]() @peterkbaba, this is NOT in line with best global practices and is not the same abroad. This scheme is simply a way to tax companies and commercial vehicle drivers. |
bobbyruffy: A randy husband Edwin (surname withheld) at the Junior Staff Quarters, Asaba, Delta State, has put his wife's bosom in the family wayProbably as a result of the tit self-service she gave him ![]() |
greatgod2012: you must be a good observer then. And I have observed that you relieve your tension by increasing the tension/annoyance of others by asking annoying questions every few seconds. Please cease and desist from this habit, God forbid one day your sat next to a suicidal maniac who has just lost his job, and you're asking about every tree and junction ![]() |
There back in VI and Ikoyi in the evenings. TINTS 1- Tinted windows are banned unless they are factory fitted. 2- By law, factory fitted tinted windows are exempt from the ban. 3- The police and local governments sell permits for "factory fitted tinted windows", even though by law you do NOT need a permit for factory fitted. 4- Motorists buy "factory fitted tinted window" permits and then put non-factory tints on their car windows. 5- Police allow motorists to move about freely with non-factory tinted windows as long as they have a permit for factory fitted tints. 6- IG makes an announcement and for some few months it is enforced and the Police make huge money from motorists with non-factory tints who have permits. 7- After some time Police relax a bit and we go back to Number 3. NOTE: It is wrong for the Police or anyone else to sell permits for factory fitted tints, that's extortion. |
This is commendable, however this company along with the majority of companies operating in the Nigerian primary and secondary steel industry is 99.9% foreign owned. These companies engage in over-invoicing to ensure money gets out of the country, through over-invoicing and other tactics. Also, transfer of knowledge is not a priority among the Indians and Chinese, who will bring in camp loads of of their people to do jobs Nigerians could be doing. We need Nigerians to invest in our real sector! Imagine if Bankole or the Pensions guy or Ibori had invested a fraction of what they stole, maybe N5-N10billion in a steel plant. Even if Government confiscated it, it can be sold to other Nigerian investors ![]() |
@poster I have a 5KVA inverter with 200x4AH deep-circle batteries, six solar charging panels. I enjoy lights, TVs, fans etc for as long as possible. But I wouldnt dare connect my ACs, Refrigerators, Electric kettles, irons etc. I cant afford to install a higher capacity inverter. Tell me, how can I write off PHCN?
I'm in the same boat but with a 1kva inverter. The Op is not being completely truthful. No house with incendiary devices such as kettles and boilers and other equipment such as deep freezers, ovens, microwaves, AC's etc can go completely energy independent. You would not have enough space for all the solar panels. These panels take up a lot of space, so if you need a lot of electricity, you better live on a farm. Majority of the middle class live in rented homes in the urban areas, try telling your average landlord that you're gonna be putting solar panels on his roof ![]() Solar is good for back up but is not yet at the level where it can be used exclusively. And I don't like you're condescending tone as if Nigerians are not smart enough to embrace solar. When it becomes cheaper and more effective we will. For example, most street lights on Lagos streets and in Lagos estates use solar powered lights, because it makes sense. |
Dude, you've got it all wrong. As a matter of fact, my fiancee is built like this too (remember I once linked you to a thread where I posted her picture, and even used one of her photos as my NL profile pic for a while). What really is the issue here, is that this beh-beh right here stands as the sexiest, most bootylicious woman to ever make it to Big Brother Africa, and that is a solid fact. So, my broda, let us all join hands and appreciate dat asss.
Seconded!! |
Typical "big man", ask him if he's still flying in his private jet. The maintenance of that thing can probably pay the salaries. |
I believe that this is quite possibly the Presidency's plan as its the usual tricks and nothing new, but I find it hard to believe that they would be this bold as to document it like that. Unless, they just don't give a **** |
mactoni91: was hw they wrote a letter to us in our compound 1 day...I wish they had showed up and you people dealt with them. I'm always happy for that one day for the owner, cause I HATE those evil men. I pray that one day our police wake up from their slumber and start to confront them |
RIP to the fallen... I was tempted to say the NSCDC should be merged into the police as a "Pipelines Command" but then they would become succeptible to the negative influence of the force. They along with the SSS and the Police all need to be strengthened so that they can checkmate each other. The SSS should monitor the Police, NSCDC should be empowered and trained in weapons handling. Remember they've just been given guns like a few months ago, and the majority of their work is within the vicinity of burst petroleum products pipelines. They along with Customs and Immigration can be monitored by a law enforcement focused Ministry of the Interior, headed by someone with a security/military background. Just think, if those policemen knew the NSCDC team were carrying sofisticated automatic weapons, bullet proof vests and were well trained, there's no way they would have confronted them. We could have possibly then learned of others involved in their racket. |
I was expecting to see something like this. https://www.naijatrends.com/page_images/556079_176368635815687_2086132307_n.jpg Nigerian police are the best when it comes to sleeping on duty.
This is actually a dead policeman who was killed in the line of duty. |
lagerwhenindoubt: Hmmm.. this could be a very cool addition to my SPY Police status.. I have never been able to beat-up people as a SPY Police.. but with this ..I'm spy police as well, why not join police. Is there any way to transfer from spy to regular?? |
mawwime: How exactly do you prove to a Nigerian Policeman that you have factory-fitted tints? They won't harass for factory fitted. At the time running up to the election in 2011 when they banned tints, i got stopped a couple of times and they wound my window down to check that my tints were factory. As long as they are factory tints, they can not be peeled off, that's the test |
To clarify: Use of tinted windows is legal only for the President, VP, Senate Pres, Speaker and their deputies (also Majority Leaders), Service Chiefs and Chief Justice. The law exempts FACTORY FITTED tinted windows. The Police and Local Governments give permits for FACTORY FITTED tinted windows. There is no permit that allows you to use non factory fitted tints. If you have a permit for factory fitted tints and you put on non-factory tints, then you are committing an offense. Up til now however, the police and FRSC have left motorists with non-factory fitted tints alone as long as they have a permit. But be warned, if your tints are NOT factory fitted and you have a permit, you are breaking the law, so if the police stop you, your either gonna part with some cash or have your car impounded and face criminal prosecution. DISCLAIMER: the above does not apply to military personnel ![]() |
baffylander: What do we expect from this bunch of ill-trained, angry and sadistic killers in uniform? You only need to visit a police station once and you'd definitely leave with a very heavy heart...and SARS, kai these guys daily carry out extra-judicial killings daily without anyone of them being held accountable for these heinous crimes. I see a policeman with a gun be it at a checkpoint or on patrol and I know this is a man who can snuff life out of my body without any consequences.Sad but true |
RIP mr Eze SARS are known to be murderers for hire, remember Dipo Dina? SARS killed him in cold blood in broad daylight, according to eyewitness reports. Those bodies found in the river in Anambra, finger pointing at SARS again. This man was assassinated, look at his business partners and competitors. SARS were probably having drinks at the hotel waiting for the man to get home and come out to relax. Someone probably informed them that he was outside his house and then they struck! |
COMPREHENSIVE INSURANCE SLOW DOWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Diezani and Dickson better watch out, cause the Governor general is probably gonna be gunning for them. He can take over from Diezani in the Petroleum Ministry until 2015 when Dickson will politely be asked to step down |
Latin American drug cartels can benefit from BH as they have access to a smuggling route from the coast of Nigeria (using southern criminal gangs) to the north (their territory) then on through the Muslim North African countries to Morrocco and into Spain/Europe. BH and the people behind them are a group of psychotic criminals who make up the rules as they go along. I ways hear Muslim people say that their religion says its wrong to kill, but the likes of BH say their killing is justified. So I wouldn't be surprised if they reasoned that trafficking narcotics to the West in exchange for weapons was a necessary "sin". Just my opinion ![]() |
Fhemmmy: This can only happen in Nigeria oh, except those hard labor jobs that they just want anyone that is fit to do them, but for professional jobs where you resume screening has already selected you for the interview, it will be impossible - However, not sure how it it being done in Nigeria . . .For the big companies, you may have hundreds of people coming for a test and with the usual human factor, some people's names who should be on the list are not. They'll usually ask people who aren't on the list to write their names on the list to be sorted out later. So if the extra tests end up being marked, you might be in luck. But usually they don't turn people away of its not too many extra. But if the list is 200 and there's an extra 100 not on the list ![]() |
So because of photo op everyone believes that Mimiko and Akeredolu are best of friends?? What do you expect when they both show up to an event, they'll start boxing each other ![]() Don't you know a politician can smile to your face and tell you he loves you and then turn around the next minute to order your assassination. |
I love that quote "don't take loyalty for stupidity" . . . .they must have ripped off the guy the way don jazzy ripped off danj.
It's the same in the music biz all over. Record companies will give their artists gold watches and cars instead of the royalties they deserve. Once the artist realise their power and success and the record company is offering you 5% royalty. Won't you leave, set up your own record company (tuface anyone? Even banky W himself) and then take 80%-90% of the royalties?? |
thelastPope: The problem I have with you ACN folks is that you turn everything into a political campaign and have no true love for Nigeria. Simple questions for you:You raise some very good points here. ACN and CPC have some level of representation in the National Assembly, why can they not sponsor a bill to modify the penal code to include harsher penalties for corruption. Are they afraid?? And you're right, they are all the same. Lost out in PDP? ACN, CPC, Labour Party are all ready and willing to receive you! |
OBJ loses power and has to stay relevant by criticizing the sitting President. He should keep his mouth shut and know that one day nemesis will catch up with him, GEJ and all the rest of them. I have not witness any significant improvements under OBJ, Yar'Adua or GEJ. |
