He can quietly agitate for a move through media leaks, he can actually submit an official transfer request to force a move. In fact, he can even do a Mikel Obi and go on strike while absconding from England and we still won't sell to Chelsea if we don't want to. We have seen this movie with both Heinze and Mikel Obi and they both lost out in the end. United will not sell a player in a manner detrimental to us regardless of said players desire to leave and we are under no pressure financially or otherwise to do so.

Chelsea really want Rooney, then Roman better call his banker to raise serious funds or maybe throw in a Mata plus cash offer and we may consider it. Rooney and his agent know this, which is why he isn't openly pushing the issue so he doesn't end up stuck in a quagmire (think what happened to Hargo when he unwisely tried to force a move to United after the 2006 WC). Instead he is trying to drag the issue out so Woodward and Moyes get frustrated and eventually let him go grabbing what they can. Even though SAF and Gill are no longer in charge, I doubt Moyes and Woodward will allow this and surely will be advised otherwise if they even consider it.

I agree but would prefer they give us someone who can potentially play in central midfield e.g Oscar rather than Mata.
However it seems Mourinho would prefer to let Mata go and keep Oscar

Arsenal was not weak, it was RVP style of play, seeking for individual glory instead of team success that killed Arsenal. Arsenal had Fabregas, Toure, Clinchi, Song, Sagna, Walcot, Adebayo, Arshanvi (is that the spelling?), Nasri and many more talented players. But they lacked one thing- A chief cordinator, a selfless attacking builder, a master key like Wayne Rooney.

Rooney, Iniester and Robben have the same game, you don't use goals and statistics to rate such players. Gareth Bale has a close style to them.

he is fast yes and he is sharp yes but he also DOES NOT and CAN NOT play in central midfield.
taarabt usually plays behind d striker (where rooney and kagawa are currently fighting for) or from the left(where we have nani, zaha, giggs, young and januzaj. then u factor in d fact that taarabt has a very low work rate, rarely marks and has attitude issues u will understand when I say "no b for our doormat"

Rooney has vision and long range passes,works hard and tracks back(sometimes too much sef) but he doesn't have the positional discipline at the moment to play in central midfield consistently.
we just have to sign someone that can immediately step into the 1st 11 in midfield. since fab isn't coming now we are talking modric, fellaini etc

that formation can only be used against really weak teams. carrick cant play with kagawa in front of him. one of them cant run and the other cant mark! even in the less demanding (physically) bundesliga kagawa usually had 2 midfielders behind him, in ur formation its only carrick left alone in central midfield. not in these days were possession is key

fully agree . I believe januzaj's future is behind d striker. he has excellent ball control, an eye for a great pass and the technique to execute the pass. also though he is left footed he can use his right foot on occasion.

our central defence doesn't bother me too much cos IMO we have 5 decent centrebacks all of them with pros and cons but none is really an otondo. few teams in the EPL can go 3 man deep in the EPL with d kind of quality we have at CB.the only reason for concern is fitness : rio with back, vidic with knee,jones with knee/ankle/everywhere,

that midfield is defensively too weak, would struggle to win back possession and the team would leak goals like anything.

OK I get u now . my initial statement wasn't based on just d start of d season though, i was talking about the season as a whole . I see zaha and nani being our starting wide men going forward with young and Valencia as benchers.

dademola: kagawa doesnt nid skill, energy and force to succeed jare. He isnt, and will neva be d hustle-and -bustle type of playa. His best role is behind d main striker; where he can orchestrate things as he likes. Playing him on d wing, or in CMF isnt helping!! Look at david silva. Playas like this cld be very important in d UCL, where possession retention is key, especially at home. D only ish is dt, for such playas to thrive,dia teams must hav a very strong CMF !! At bvb, he also showed he can score goals too. I just feel he shud visit d gym more often( he is way too fragile).
