stevehans:You mean that picture is indeed from the project area? Are you serious?? What we are seeing there with those broken gutters and rusted reinforcement rods dont look like recent work. Are you sure you guys completed the work or you did it half-way, took pictures of the half way work from special angles and then took off. I am really interested in that place. Please describe the place from that Roundabout. I may even go check it out. |
cindyrocks:People that would be accusing other people of propaganda are the worst culprits. Funny enough, people can see through your lies and abuses; though they may not reply. Is it not your Reuben Abati after having nothing else to wail on, that has shifted to wailing that there are evil spirits in Aso rock due to plenty human sacrifices that has been carried out around the place. The GEJ administration is blaming evil spirits for their massive failure and you are trying to turn it around. The defeat of that 2015 election will still end up giving some of these GEJ boys nervous breakdown. Because as the days go on and they open their buccal cavity, they keep yarning nonsense and more nonsense. I'm sure this kind of person when they were in power instead of tackling issues intellectually will tell GEJ it was evil spirits and that it was prayers they need. https://www.nairaland.com/3407433/spiritual-side-aso-villa-reuben |
nothing wey person no go hear for Naija. White House has been there for more than 200 years. Na there senior evil spirits supposed dey sef. Buckingham Palace has been there for more than 300 years. With all the atrocities of the British all over the world, no be there demons supposed dey pass?? Well, experience is the best teacher so they say. Make I no talk too much as I never sleep inside the villa. But the General and the Pastor should be able to fight the spiritual battle na?? Mynd44, OAM4J, Lalasticlala pls we need more opinions on this. |
The spiritual side of Aso Villa People tend to be alarmed when the Nigerian Presidency takes certain decisions. They don’t think the decision makes sense. Sometimes, they wonder if something has not gone wrong with the thinking process at that highest level of the country. I have heard people insist that there is some form of witchcraft at work in the country’s seat of government. I am ordinarily not a superstitious person, but working in the Villa, I eventually became convinced that there must be something supernatural about power and closeness to it. I’ll start with a personal testimony. I was given an apartment to live in inside the Villa. It was furnished and equipped. But when my son, Michael arrived, one of my brothers came with a pastor who was supposed to stay in the apartment. But the man refused claiming that the Villa was full of evil spirits and that there would soon be a fire accident in the apartment. He complained about too much human sacrifice around the Villa and advised that my family must never sleep overnight inside the Villa. I thought the man was talking nonsense and he wanted the luxury of a hotel accommodation. But he turned out to be right. The day I hosted family friends in that apartment and they slept overnight, there was indeed a fire accident. The guests escaped and they were so thankful. Not long after, the President’s physician living two compounds away had a fire accident in his home. He and his children could have died. He escaped with bruises. Around the Villa while I was there, someone always died or their relations died. I can confirm that every principal officer suffered one tragedy or the other; it was as if you needed to sacrifice something to remain on duty inside that environment. Even some of the women became merchants of Love Machine because they had suffered a special kind of death in their homes (I am sorry to reveal this) and many of the men complained about something that had died below their waists too. The ones who did not have such misfortune had one ailment or the other that they had to nurse. From cancer to brain and prostate surgery and whatever, the Villa was a hospital full of agonizing patients. I recall the example of one particular man, an asset to the Jonathan Presidency who practically ran away from the Villa. He said he needed to save his life. He was quite certain that if he continued to hang around, he would die. I can’t talk about colleagues who lost daughters and sons, brothers and uncles, mothers and fathers, and the many obituaries that we issued. Even the President was multiply bereaved. His wife, Mama Peace was in and out of hospital at a point, undergoing many surgeries. You may have forgotten but after her husband lost the election and he conceded victory, all her ailments vanished, all scheduled surgeries were found to be no longer necessary and since then she has been hale and hearty. By the same token, all those our colleagues who used to come to work to complain about a certain death beneath their waists and who relied on videos and other instruments to entertain wives (take it easy boys, I don’t mean nay harm, I am writing!), have all experienced a re-awakening. Everyone who went under the blade has received miraculous healing, and we are happy to be out of that place. But others were not so lucky. They died. There were days when convoys ran into ditches and lives were lost. In Norway, our helicopter almost crashed into a mountain. That was the first time I saw the President panicking. The weather was all so hazy and he just kept saying it would not be nice for the President of a country to die in a helicopter crash due to pilot miscalculations. The President went into a prayer mode. We survived. In Kenya once, we had a bird strike. The plane had to be recalled and we were already airborne with the plane acting like it would crash. During the 2015 election campaigns, our aircraft refused to start on more than one occasion. The aircraft just went dead. On some other occasions, we were stoned and directly targeted for evil. I really don’t envy the people who work in Aso Villa, the seat of Nigeria’s Presidency. For about six months, I couldn’t even breathe properly. For another two months, I was on crutches. But I considered myself far luckier than the others who were either nursing a terminal disease or who could not get it up. When Presidents make mistakes, they are probably victims of a force higher than what we can imagine. Every student of Aso Villa politics would readily admit that when people get in there, they actually become something else. They act like they are under a spell. When you issue a well- crafted statement, the public accepts it wrongly. When the President makes a speech and he truly means well, the speech is interpreted wrongly by the public. When a policy is introduced, somehow, something just goes wrong. In our days, a lot of people used to complain that the APC people were fighting us spiritually and that there was a witchcraft dimension to the governance process in Nigeria. But the APC folks now in power are dealing with the same demons. Since Buhari government assumed office, it has been one mistake after another. Those mistakes don’t look normal, the same way they didn’t look normal under President Jonathan. I am therefore convinced that there is an evil spell enveloping this country. We need to rescue Nigeria from the forces of darkness. Aso Villa should be converted into a spiritual museum, and abandoned. Should I become President of Nigeria tomorrow, I will build a new Presidential Villa: a Villa that will be dedicated to the all-conquering Almighty, and where powers and principalities cannot hold sway. But it is not about buildings and space, not so? It is about the people who go to the highest levels in Nigeria. I really don’t quite believe in superstitions, but I am tempted to suggest that this is indeed a country in need of prayers. We should pray before people pack their things into Aso Villa. We should ask God to guide us before we appoint ministers. We should, to put it in technocratic language, advise that the people should be very vigilant. We have all failed so far, that crucial test of vigilance. We should have a Presidential Villa where a President can afford to be human and free. In the White House, in the United States, Presidents live like normal human beings. In Aso Villa, that is impossible. They’d have to surround themselves with cooks from their villages, bodyguards from their mother’s clans and friends they can trust. It should be possible to be President of Nigeria without having to look behind one’s shoulders. But we are not yet there. So, how do we run a Presidency where the man in the saddle can only drink water served by his kinsman? No. How can we possibly run a Presidency where every President proclaims faith in Nigeria but they are better off in the company of relatives and kinsmen. No. We need as Presidents men and women who are willing to be Nigerians. No Nigerian President should be in spiritual bondage because he belongs to all of us and to nobody. Now let me go back to the spiritual dimension. A colleague once told me that I was the most naïve person around the place. I thought I was a bright, smart, professional doing my bit and enjoying the President’s confidence. I spelled it out. But what I got in response was that I was coming to the villa using Lux soap, but that most people around the place always bathed in the morning with blood. Goat blood. Ram blood. Whatever animal blood. I argued. He said there were persons in the Villa walking upside down, head to the ground. I screamed. Everybody looked normal to me. But I soon began to suspect that I was in a strange environment indeed. Every position change was an opportunity for warfare. Civil servants are very nice people; they obey orders, but they are not very nice when they fight over personal interests. The President is most affected by the atmosphere around him. He can make wrong decisions based on the cloud of evil around him. Even when he means well and he has taken time to address all possible outcomes, he could get on the wrong side of the public. A colleague called me one day and told me a story about how a decision had been taken in the spiritual realm about the Nigerian government. He talked about the spirit of error, and how every step taken by the administration would appear to the public like an error. He didn’t resign on that basis but his words proved prophetic. I see the same story being re-enacted. Aso Villa is in urgent need of redemption. I never slept in the apartment they gave me in that Villa for an hour. http://m.guardian.ng/opinion/the-spiritual-side-of-aso-villa/ |
The yahoo yahoo complainant better watch his back. Naija police are very mean and wicked. They can arrange to have someone take him out. |
charix:Really sad. |
While I condemn this senseless act of brutality by our security forces, I won't swallow this wholly to represent the recent violence in Jos until more facts are released. People are so dishonest these days. They will just pick a video from somewhere and tag it to an unrelated event. That was how someone purportedly released a video of APC rigging in Edo state and people were already running their mouths before it was revealed by another person with concrete evidence that the video has been on the internet for years. |
Lovely simple woman. These kind of women looks harmless but they can be very stone-hearted when in position of authority. Mess with them at your own peril. ![]() |
None of the above was disputed with facts. Instead only abuses were hurled at the OP. The typical attitude of those deficient in intellect. |
realunclej:Oh, that's true. Well, they should give Kekemeke then. He should vacate the Chairmanship seat. |
Abeg make that Emefiele go siddon for one retirement home. We have had enough of his policy somersault. We need fresh hands. |
laudate:Una better throw this trash into the bin where it belongs. The desperation you guys have been showing to give the trash coverage, shows you are nothing but foot soldiers of corrupt folks. |
This is a good write-up that calls for somber reflection. Mynd44, lalasticlala kindly consider this for frontpage. |
Mr. Tokunbo Ajasin go dey vex now. Sorry, try again later. Make them give Olushola Oke now, make him cool down with that one. |
Illiterates everywhere. It is the NJC that forwards the nominees to the President. |
I come dey pity the woman sha. Wailers beware oh. It is the NJC that recommended her retirement. It is not Buhari oh! Because I know the dull wailers will soon flood this place screaming Buhari is a dictator. Your darling NJC that you have been advocating for, are the ones that disciplined the woman. |
freeze001:The incoming Chief Judge is already known. Abeg, carry your conspiracy theory to another corner. |
biafrasun:Which fake anachy? The senator said if it is without a search warrant. And it has been revealed that the DSS operatives were with a valid search warrants. So what say you again? |
The corruption in the judiciary is systemic. I pray the Lord gives Buhari the strength to complete the purge. |
Justcash: (3) The State Security Service shall be charged with responsibility for-Receiving bribe to pervert course of justice can lead to those cheated to seek self-help. Which can cause national security problem. How come you guys are not seeing the danger inherent in our judiciary from the high court all the way to the supreme court to become cash and carry. If judgement was procured against you at the High court, and you proceeded to the Appeal court and you were still deprived of judgment just because of a cheap dirty judge. And you further went to the supreme court and judgement was still procured against you. How will you feel? Do u know how much it cost to run a case from the lower courts all the way to the supreme court?? And then someone will now bribe the supreme court leading to your deprivation. I can assure you, if you were cheated and was still unable to get favourable judgement at the supreme court, you'll consider causing some civil unrest. |
TPAND:Abeg keep quiet. You people were the one screaming that his policies drove up the price of rice, now he has agreed to the pampering that the consumerist nation Nigeria wants and you are still wailing |
What now happens to all the efforts to stimulate local production of rice?? Nigeria and policy somersaults eh. Well, some short term advantage will accrue from this: -cheaper rice Long term disadvantages -pressures on naira will continue as people continue sourcing for scarce foreign exchange for rice imports. -if the local production is not well protected and nourished, this new directive can kill off the production. |
What now happens to all the efforts to stimulate local production of rice?? |
TheEastActivist:Only God knows what can satisfy Wailers like this. Chai, their pessimism know no bounds! I am sure you are part of those who has been spreading tales that FG did not look towards coal because they want to keep Igbo's down. An opportunity has come up now to put the vast coal resources in the east to productive use and you are still ignorantly misinforming the public that coal electricity generation has been abandoned in the 21st century. Japan presently is increasing her coal-fired power plants. Instead of abusing this hard working lady, pls direct your anger to Vanguard with their half baked report that did not go into specifics of what the Honorable Minister said. A lot of the developed world use coal to meet their energy needs. Why can't we do same? For your information, United States generates 33% of its electricity from coal. China- 69% Germany-45% Japan-49% Uk-23% India-60% Russia-14% If we can use coal to generate just 3000mw, our electricity problems will vanish. Just because of the improved efficiency in that sector, I am enjoying light here in Lagos in a way I have never enjoyed it in my entire adult life. I have not used my generator in 3 weeks. I cant imagine the supply I will be getting if like 3000mw is added to the grid. |
One should expect elders to show some wisdom and restraints in their utterances but the reverse seems to be the case here. This is an overview of our security apparatus: Chief of Defence Staff:- SW (highest military officer) Christian Chief of Army Staff:- NE Muslim Chief of Air Staff:- NE Muslim Chief of Naval Staff:- SS Christian IG of Police: NC Muslim DG of DSS: NW Muslim DG of NIA: SW Christian 3 out of 7 Senior Security Officers that has direct Command over Armed Personnel are Christians. Doesn't look as bad as alarmists are portraying it. It must be noted that during GEJ, the C Defence S, Alex Badeh- Christian C Army S, Kenneth Minimah- Christian C Air S, Amosu- Christian Director of SSS, Ekpeyoung- Christian Director of NIA, formerly Ayodeji then Oke- Christian IG police, Arase- Christian That is 6/7 were Christians during GEJ regime. It was only CNS, Usman Jubrin that was muslim. Were they able to Christianize Nigeria?? A big no. Security appointments are made based on capability and loyalty. If by chance this old man becomes president, I can authoritatively say he also will appoint more Christians then Muslims especially based on his penchant for bigotry. He is just being an hypocrite. He should free us abeg. |
Interesting. Academics have joined politicians in their looting spree. ![]() |
fulanimafia:Thanks! You see, it's quite interesting to see how a whole 90% of a people are so disposed to emotions and sentiments. Engage anyone of them in a discussion and before you know it, they are already foaming in the mouth because of Buhari. I can remember long ago I think in 2012 that I engaged in a political discussion with a lady (from the haters of PMB) and suggested that Nigeria should give Buhari a chance in 2015, I was amazed at her reaction. She was just raking and raking that infact that the "Buhari will die before 2015". I could not even talk, as I never imagined such level of hatred from such a cute lady. It's really saddening. And calls for research. |
Hedonistically:The yorubas are patient and and not led by arrogant hastiness. They supported him and will patiently assess him at the end of his tenure. And not a year into his administration. They are more academic than that. I can vividly remember when Buhari just came in and the bombing activities of boko haram was on the increase, radio stations' call-in programs were bombarded by people wishing the country doom, they were all over abusing and laughing at Buhari claiming he was incompetent to end boko despite promising to do so. A good number of them even turned liars claiming Buhari said he'll end boko haram in 2 weeks, some said 2 months, others 4months just to justify their unreasonable criticism of him. A lot of patient people held their peace. And after a while the Buhari led FG was able to curtail the bombing spree and also succeeded in cutting boko haram to size. In the end, the patient quiet observers saw the result, and ticked that. Till date, those unreasonable critiques have still not deemed it fit to commend PMB for successfully destabilising boko haram. When it suits their evil propanganda, they will say he is incompetent in achieving victory over boko haram, later when they see him succeeding, these evil people will then claim again that he is succeeding because he himself is boko haram; what a confused set of hate-filled beings. May their wailing continue. Now enter the economic recession and inflation. They are all over again, on radio call-in programs, social media, print media, etc. Abusing Buhari and calling him incompetent. Their brain has refused to acknowledge that the economy was already spiralling downwards before the man took over. Their brain equally failed to process the fact that a country cannot be taken out of recession in 1/2 months; and that other oil giants like Venezuela, Qatar, Russia and others are also facing a recession. And in addition to the global problem, Nigeria is facing disruptions by corrupt renegades in the Niger Delta masking as freedom fighters. Reasonable and intelligent people don't run into conclusion by the prevailing circumstances. The yorubas have demonstrated civility and intelligence in their current disposition to Buhari. It is at the end of his tenure who is right will be obvious, not at the middle. |
Diademk07:Labour party did not have structure but some other issues was to their advantage. 1. Comparing the situation then and now, Miimiko was relatively more popular in the state than Olusola Oke, having held this positions consecutively:- -Commissioner under Adefarati -SSG to Agagu -Federal Minister under Obasanjo Infact, his name was already an household name then, even to the extent that Obasanjo heard about him and selected him to be a minister without any recommendation from Agagu, the governor. 2. He had more financial muscle and contacts to leverage on than present day Oke especially based on the above positions he held consecutively (except if someone like Tinubu gives Oke a brickwall support). Because of his robust financials and networks, he had the money to deploy for massive publicity for the also relatively unknown labour party. 3. People were very much tired of the Agagu led-government and were eager for a change. It was only Mimiko that offered the opportunity for that change then. The situation is also similar now, people are eager for a change except that there are more options on the table with financial resources, contacts and state-wide structure for Oke to contend with. Oke is not the only option for now as obtainable for Mimiko when he faced Agagu. 4. Mimiko was a better grassroot politician than Olusola Oke. |
Diademk07:You not only lack coherence in your thoughts, it is also obvious in your communication. What is the connection of what you wrote up there to what I said? If you are familiar with Ondo state it wont be too hard for you to know that majority of the rigging that takes place during election happen at Ondo south. That was what I was alluding to. That being said, who is comparing Owo/Akure votes with that of Ondo south? I can see you just want to be seen talking eventhough it doesn't sound so reasonable. Ondo state has 3 senatorial district made up of 6 local governments each. The Akokos, Owo and Ose makes up the North. Nobody ever said they are the same. That they are different does not mean they cannot politically vote same party. Ondo is not all about AD, the structureless party that was kept afloat by renegade elements. |
matador86:Thanks! Please where did you get the information? Is it from on online source? Does it have that of other states in Nigeria? This doesn't look good for Aketi unless he humbles himself. |
Does anyone have the voter registration figures for the 18 local governments of Ondo state. It's only the old census figures that I could get. If we have the figures, it will help in our analysis. Ondo North 1. Akoko North-East 2. Akoko North-West 3. Akoko South-East 4. Akoko South-West 5. Owo 6. Ose Ondo Central 1. Akure South 2. Akure North 3. Ondo East 4. Ondo West 5. Ifedore 6. Idanre Ondo South 1. IleOluji/Oke Igbo 2. Odigbo 3. Irele 4. Ilaje 5. Okitipupa 6. Ese odo |
