JONNYSPUTE: ...Funny how you resorted to insults. They only approved that money after Wike blasted Amechi over the construction of rail lines to Niger Republic and asked him to mention his achievements in Rivers state since he became a minister. You are free to throw more insults but I won't reply back with same manner. Thank you sir. You give too much credit to Wike. Wike himself would be pleasantly surprised. |

Realtalk20: I meant at that point ph to maiduguri
It's a waste instead do from maiduguri to Lagos So Maiduguri to Lagos which will not interlink the SE cities is more important than Port Harcourt to Maiduguri?? Are you guys okay at all? If it is this Maiduguri to Lagos that was announced, you lots will still be crying all over. Humans are just too difficult to please. |
Politics › Re: FG Okays $3.02bn For Reconstruction Of Port Harcourt-maiduguri Rail Line by agabusta: 11:44am On Oct 08, 2020 |
SocialJustice: I know it is, my question is what is the economic importance compared to Lagos? Lagosians deserve the right to live without traffic. If traffic is solved in Lagos, it will make the place a lot more better to live. Let Lagos state govt cater for that! So when Lagos is a lot more better to live, all of us should pack our load and go and live in Lagos? The FG is for everybody. All the states in the Federation has a right to be linked with others by road and rail to be funded by the FG. |

Amotolongbo: I can remember vividly when Olusegun Obasanjo moved Okonjo-Iweala from Finance to Foreign Affairs then during the cabinet reshuffling, it looked like a demotion and like reducing Okonjo-Iweala’s status. We never knew it was a blessing in disguise and going to boost her CV chance in a world career pursuit. I think she left the cabinet after that. Not sure, can you remember how it went? |

UDUJ: Probably a thief while evading escape from location A jumped into an open manhole and crawled his way all the way to location B where there are no open manholes, only sealed manholes. Now the dude is trapped and losing sanity fast from being in a dark dirty confined space with poor ventilation.
Once he is rescued they should properly interrogate him on how he ended up there. He must be a criminal.
And why is this post in the Travel section?
This should be in the Crime section. Apt! You sabi abeg |

kingthreat: Yes the child did in the church premises. But direct involvement has not been proven beyond doubt. Are you the judge? The Judge convicted based on the evidence before him, you are disputing that without providing any evidence to the contrary. For the judge to convict means it has been proven beyond doubt to him. He has option of appealing for the judgement to be reviewed by a panel of judges. But for now, it has been proven. |

obowo69: I agree with you but those markets and farms that you mentioned are also in other states and the tax revenues from those ventures wont be enough to sustain a city like Abuja. Majority of Abuja's operational revenue comes from oil money and not from businesses or farms. Why are u so fixated on oil? The monies comes from the federation purse. It doesnt have to be oil. Whatever is sustaining the economy of the different parts of the country will equally sustain Abuja, the capital and seat of POWER. |
Politics › Re: How Sustainable Is Abuja's Economy Without Federal Government Money? by agabusta: 8:54pm On Sep 25, 2020 |
proeast: You guys are allowing your emotions to get the better of you. Will Kano survive? The answer is absolute yes! Will Kaduna survive? Yes! This is because these cities/states grew up based on its strength and capacity. They have solid foundations but in the case of Abuja, it was created out of a jungle and over time, nothing much was done to make it self sustaining whether in the area of industry, tourism, small and medium scale enterprises or services. It is just existing based on the earnings of the government offices, ministries, politicians and corruption, and all these people are rent seekers waiting for oil money to be disbursed to them!
Once its artificial and external source of income is cut off, the city will gradually decline and decay. Go and read the histories of empires and their capital cities and tell us if it's the capital city that generates the funds responsible for its development and advancement. |

Its time State Commissioners of police and the overall Head of the police are appointed from the civilian populace for them to know that they are subject to the civilians and not in any way superior. |

Toks2008: Tinubu gave PDP the chance with that his nonsensical broadcast urging people not to vote for obaseki. He overestimates his political worth. He consistently fails to realise that he has clout only among the politicians and not the wider populace. For APC to stand any fighting chance in 2023, they better ditch Tinubu and risk it out with Osinbajo. |

There are many foreign energy companies like Siemen that bided during Gej's period but were not given the contract We were talking about electricity allocation in view of the recent increase. Not sale of the power companies. |
