I also had diabetes in all of my pregnancies, the most important thing is to monitor your diet and limit your sugar/carbohydrate intake. So that means adhering to a diabetic diet throughout your pregnancy and after delivery until your blood sugars get back to a normal level. So you should avoid any fanta, malt and all those carbonized drinks that are high in sugar. Always choose the sugar free drink option. When selecting meal chooses limit the rice, white bread, yams etc. You should eat more meats (high in proteins) and vegetables (high in vitamins, minerals) and fruits because they are simple sugars.

@rezzy the symptoms you are describing are not normal. Go and see your OB.

Am worried

How many weeks pregnant are you? Some mild pink discharge is common in weeks 5-6 of pregnancy (implantation). Also if its not week six sometimes this pink discharge can come from the uterus expanding, ruptured cyst etc. As long as its not accompanied by constant cramping it should be ok.

Thank u mamas for the well wishes. Here goes my story..

Changed my hospital at 37 weeks. . The hospital ran a test and was positive for diabetes( something I new knew I had).
Was told I won't be allowed to get to 40 weeks and was to come the next day to be induced as it was urgent and baby's heart rate was also dropping. Being a first time mum, I cried my eyes out at my doctors.. All efforts to calm my fears were fruitless.
Fast forward to the next day, I packed my bags and drove to d hospital and was admitted..
Then they started, they used something called catheter (oh boi!, do was painful and uncomfortable ) and inserted to ripen the cervix. 12 hrs later, cytotec was inserted into d vjay, 4 hrs later, d doc inserted another dose.. then I slept off.
woke up around 4pm to cramps I Kdnt explain, complained to the nurses and was told it's normal as labour has started.
Was so excited as I was sure I would hold my baby soon.. then d pain became intense and was wheeled to labour ward..
Hubby came from work to join. I was screaming and wen I was checked at 7pm, was told v only dialated to 2cm and I still v a long way to go(modaarann).then I felt a sound in my tummy do brut anoda pain and was told I just lost my mucus plug. I started crying and using breathing techniques which wasn't working.
Fast forward to 10pm, d midwife checked again and I was only dialated to 3 cm again.. Then I knew I was in for it. I started begin for cs to help reduce d pain.... begged for pain relief and d midwife gave me ppm injection, I was so mad and said tins I Kdnt remember to her.then I weeded on d bed and was informed my water was leaking.
Past 11pm, I needed to poo, told d nurses, nd was told not to try it so won't rupture membranes, I tried to hold back but it kept coming. I couldn't care less anymore, I so over pooed on d bed I rubbed d poo on hubby's shirt.. then they had to call d doc to come and get my cs ready.
Ws about gettin my injection for the cs,Was so uncomfortable, I had to stand from d bed and squat. As I stood, noticed I couldn't close my legs and told d nurse, she asked me to lie to check... she screamed and told me it's d babies head. And asked me to push..With 2 pushes, my princess came out at 11:25 weighing 3.01kg. labour lasted about 8hrs

At six weeks it is normal its called "implantation bleeding" thats when the fertilized egg goes into the uterus to implant for the remainder od the pregnancy until birth.

pls who knows where I can get a pregnancy pillow? I'm used to laying on my stomach while sleeping but its no longer comfortable. plus I have to turn and turn before I can sleep on my side( not easy at all)

Where are you located? I know there are many maternity stores in PH, but not sure of anywhere else but any pregnancy or maternity store in your area may have it or probably can order it for you.

vickilafab: How serious? Is it continuous or stops after a while? Is there blood? It could just be the baby implanting in d uterus. I felt cramps in my 1st trimester but I used to have painful menstruation bfor getting pregnant so it was mild to me.. c ur doc for a scan to check u.

@ julicoka how many weeks pregnant are you?

like the above poster said in pregnancy depending on how many weeks you are cramping is normal as long as there is no blood and its not consistent. In my first rimester with both my kids I had terrible cramps up till 10 weeks it was awful, but try to get rest if you can and stay off your feet.

@Blank how are you mommy? I think you have 3 now? i hope you and hubby are slowing down lol. SO much has changed we are now back in Canada full-time so no more PH for now. Looking to cross over to USA as I was offered a position that is really hard to turn down, but will see how things pan out. Take good care was nice reading from you again!

We are very well I can't complain my two little people are growing up so fast. My son is starting school in september, can't believe its a total dream come true. Seeing my son who weigh 1 pound at birth going to school in the near future, I just don't have the words to describe the goodness this g-d has given to our family. My daughter is 16 months now and she is turning into a little lady who is ruling the house lol. How are you doing did you have your baby yet? This thread use to be so lively then we lost so much content close to 400 pages i believe. I hoe the ladies return to share with the others that look to this thread for advice and encouragement and of course the birth stories.

Its been so quiet on here where did everybody goo

Madam is 33 weeks and the Doctors expect to deliver her next week by cs unless the can bring her BP under control.

Congrats great gestation. 34 weeks is like full term, will only need help with feeding and learning to suck, swallow breath, G-d heals all wounds so happy to see this post.

@k4kenny welcome to the club my 3 year old does the same, hits his little sister, pushes her and drags her everywhere, he is still struggling getting use to having a little sister, i guess in time he will grow out of it or until she grows some teeth to avenge the mistreatment lol

@mcfad please give your little one the amplicox, little babies immune system is still developing after birth and childrens lungs develop up until the age of 7. My 4 month old had a cold and cough i gave her amoxicillin syrup for a few days it cleared up. if a child/infant is having "laboured breathing"vit. c will not cure the problem, giving a newborn antibiotic will not harm them. hope LO feels better soon.

This story is why i started that pregnancy thread to get info. out about these deadly PREVENTABLE pregnancy related complications. as i write this i am still recovering from my latest pre eclamsia episode, to g-d be the glory.

i am one tierd human being omg,yes its true about teh blesing of g-d, when i hit 37 weeks and i was term i could not beleive that i made it, felt like a dream this sort of stuff only happen to other people not me ooo, but to g-d be the glory it was happening to me, it was my turn.I named my baby girl Grace because it was only by the Grace of g-d i made it through. This pregnancy was my 5th and i only got 2 living kids to show for it but i thank g-d. back in 2010 when i had my son, i became friends with a ladyshe also had a preemie baby, anyways she tried for over a year finally got pregnant. she is now 19 weks with so many unexpected complications, to even list.She is now on hospital bed rest in the high risk unit.point im trying to make is when g-d see he really see you through completly

LOL a lot of it was water weight but here we go i have been calorie counting and try to keep my intake below 1000-1500 calories a day not the best but it works for me here is the diet:

Breakfast:
low fat muffin only 1 muffin either blueberry or strawberry
glass of no fat milk 250 ml
glass of water 500 ml

Snack:
low fat yogert
glass of water

Lunch:
salad, roman lettuce with low fat dressing

Snack:
cereal with no fat milk
Glass of water

Dinner:
grilled chicken breast
iceburg lettuce
Juice 250 ml
Water 500 ml

Night snack
another muffin with water,


i will continue with this diet for another month and then start to maintain teh weight loss, this is the same diet i used when loosing the weight after my son and it worked for me. Keep in mind this does not work for everyone and technically i should be eating more calories but i want my figure back sooner than later so that is why i am doing it this way.

so how is everyone doing, as for me ive already lost 20 pounds and couting
