It is not really a swear word but it is apparent that we have people who are consumed by it and would do all to make it all about ethnicity rather than deal with truth in issues presented.
I don't know why you always waste your time trying to talk sense into sycophants who just have a single view - their masters.

I asked a simple question. how is CNN divingdividing and ruling? no concrete answer and you are still wasting your time with such person.

Marry the rich guy and forget about the poor guy. Already you are having an affair with the rich guy also, this will make you regret later and make the life of the poor guy miserable. Please leave the poor guy alone, don't make his life miserable in future, it will only hurt him for a while. marrying him will lead to a whole lifetime of regrets, which is more misery than you can ever imagine.

People have forgotten that Bayelsa was carved out from 'bush' in 1996.  In true development terms the state is really 6 to 7 years old (take away 3 years for military era, take away another 2 years for alams v obj and another 2 years  for stop start issues with Sylva and Goodluck).

When will our people learn that CNN and co don't have our best interests at heart. Divide and rule by remote control.
how is CNN dividing & ruling, by stating the obvious, which is a glaring truth. Who is fighting who, are the masses fighting those in power as a result of the western press news? Just a question.

For our country to move forward we have to have visionary ideas and the courage to implement them. On this thread some of you have displayed hindsight but have no vision or foresight.
Abuja was the mother of all white elephant projects, but supporters in high places made that vision come to life.

Past performance is no guarantee of future performance, If Sylva does what he says he is going to do, then he will deserve credit. If he doesn't then you will be justified in your criticism. It is far too early for the bullets some of you are shooting. Innocent until proven guilty - give the project a chance.
are you aware that since inception of the state, there had been several adverts inviting people to apply for land allocation? and up till now only the house of assembly members, commissioners, pdp officials, house of reps/senate members, and banks mostly are given these plots.

most of the estates are built by these same group of people in power, past and present. It is rudiculous how sycophants continue to preach shameless on forums defending the underfendaable.

It's too pathetic.!!!!!!!

Why cant the government allocate land to people to build houses on their own, instead of building these substandard houses which they sell at prices beyond the reach of the ordinary Bayelsan. On top of that if you don't know anybody in power their is no way you can benefit.

Even the scholarship awarded by Alams for the Ukraine University program was based on who you know in power, morons were given scholarships to go and study with nothing to show for all the money wasted at the end of the day. some couldn't even graduate.

same bayelsa, you have a single individual working in two to three places, local government-state-federal, most of these people are relations or friends of those in power. That's why they shamelessly defend these corrupt politicians. I WEEP FOR NIGERIA https://smileys.on-my-web.com/repository/Sad/crying-022.gif

"ALAMS, Goodluck and Sylva"? You are talking about money that never gets awarded, they stole other state monies. But way above that, you are begging the question.
The current structure of the country facilitates corruption and backwardness; the right organ to pressure for that change is the FG.
The structure of the pyramid "Federation" is the foundation for the two pillars of corruption in Nigeria; the federal and the states govts.

Corruption is not unique to the Niger Delta, it is a Nigerian malaise which exists only because the country is set up the wrong way with money flowing from the FG to the states, instead of the opposite.

If money flowed from state to FG, it will make the FG accountable to each state (one pillar of corruption down).
Also, if money flowed from the LG to the state instead of the other way round, state govts would be 100% accountable to their people (the other pillar of corruption down).

MEND is 100% right to "negotiate" with the FG.
I am from Bayelsa, "I AM SICK OF THIS TYPE OF REASONING", That's why you have criminals parading as freedom fighters. I was pissed off hearing guys defending kidnapping of Julius Berger expatriate, working on the Eleme to Kaiama axis of the east-west road. it's only Lazy people who support this type of actions.

Is it only the present set of leaders?
Dat shit called corruption has eaten real deep into Nigerians. . . . .
It's a scary situ!
Sure, most nigerians don't want the corruption to stop, because they believe it is the time of the people at the top now, their own time is coming. so by their own thinking why stop the corruption when they still have hope of getting there? If the corruption is stopped how will they make their own money?

"Our plan is to dove-tail the Gloryland Castle into the wider vision of Yenagoa of the immediate future, which will be a showpiece city for all Nigerians and the rest of the world to come and enjoy life with a lot to see,” he explained.
This is typical Niger Delta mentality, some who has no house, no food for his children, no good cloths, as soon as he has a windfall will buy the latest cars, while is family is languishing in poverty.  I know of a guy who has a car and recently he bought a jeep, but when you enter his living room the seating whole is junk.  Yet he goes around cruising in his jeep to impress ladies and fkuc all of them. too pathetic.

SapeleGuy:
Perhaps in the next four years, Yenagoa will become one of the most beautiful cities in Nigeria if plans afoot are anything to go by. An international airport is being constructed, specifically for cargo operations because Bayelsa is aiming to become the largest producer of paddy rice in Africa in partnership with Thai and Vietnamese experts. It also wants to become the largest producer of fish, in league with Israeli experts.

The airport will serve as a major import and export route when plans to redesign the state’s economy from oil and gas to agriculture, commerce and tourism come to fruition."
The imported rice that you have been eating is brought in by air, any educated person will know that its cheaper to use rail and ship than air for shipping.

The state is also constructing a 32-kilometre dual express from the airport into the rear of the city where the new Yenagoa is springing up. The state’s 110 kilowatt electricity supply project is expected to switch on fully next year, making it more than self-sufficient in power supply."

It's people like you that encourage this stigma you whine about. Why the hell do you think these people shouldn't look at you with suspicion when tens of thousands of your brothers are sending them scam emails, and many of them appear in the news, apprehended by foreign law enforcement agencies for duping westerners? Haven't you seen/heard truly sickening stories of how victims of 419  have been broken financially and emotionally by relentless and merciless Nigerian 419 gangs?
So as far as you're concerned, it's not the bad things we do that make us pariahs, instead we should blame the people who publicise the bad things we do. And that's just sad.

As for your 'supposedly Nigerian' statement, i can't help laughing. over 70% of you educated Nigerians failed to turn up to vote during the last elections, Nairaland opinion polls show that as much as 40% of respondents will deliberately avoid paying tax if they can help it.
Patriotism is best shown when you pay taxes, vote actively and obey the laws of your country. Not by sending online petitions and feeling insulted over an issue you should feel SHAME for!
My bro, I feel you.  Tell them the bitter truth.

Who exposed the ministers fraudulent spending in UK? was it not the British Press?

What of the Blackwater scandal?

A Korean past president committed sucide because of corruption charges over an amount a local government official will give to his girl friend (not wife)

That's why corruption will continue in Nigeria, and things can never get better.

was Madoff not arrested and taken to court? Didn't he spend time in jail before going to prison? was he just arrested and taken straight to court.

Please tell us how she is being treated that isn't right.

The truth is that she is facing reality, may be they should have jailed her abroad, same way they need medical check up abroad, as our hospitals and clinics are not functional.

EFCC please don't detain celebrated people in your cells, let them be detained in decent cells abroad may be in the US of A. At least you can hire the one madoff was detained in.

when corruption is done openly without regard for norms in a civilised society, how do you expect to be tagged.

Police take bribe openly right from the top to the lowest officer
doctors refer you to their private clinics from government hospitals
parents, teachers and principals help students to cheat right from primary school first school leaving certificate
Lecturers openly have s3x with female students to pass them not just having affair with one person (selling handouts as a must buy if you want to pass their courses, now converted to textbooks with hardcovers).
People who could not afford two square meals a day suddently possessing fleet of cars and hosting unnecessary parties.

This is embarrassing. You are seriously comparing using Police escort to drinking cyanide?

Spikedcylinder what i am trying to say is that we strive to be alive in as much we strongly believe that God is protecting us, so i do not see any reason why the men of God should not protect their selves.

Come to think of it, i am not sure a man of God with small ministry we start requering the services of the police, the way the big time politicians are in terms of popularity, that is the way the big time men of God are.so if the big time politicians should go with escort to protect their lives, i seeno reason why the big time men of God will not protect their selves. So Spikekedcylinder do not blame them the society is corupt and the men of God are not to be blamed for it rather the past leaders are to be blamed. Have you heard that Benny Hin, Pauala White etc are carrying police escort, they are not carrying because their country can protect them, in Nigeria who will protect you, if don't try to protectyour self.

Nija is a lawless country and we have poor security network. so don't blame them at all.
What about his congregation/members the church should equally make provision for them

Then I think every nigerian should have two policemen to protect him grin

OK, I got your point, but please be kind enough to pay attention, read and understand statement before diving in.
Number 1. I haven't accused the fed govt for doing anything, I have only stated that fed govt needs to be careful not to make any unnecessary mistake that would jeopardize this case.
Which mistake are you talking about that will jeopadize the case?

Depilot:
Number 2. I am not defending or accusing Ms Cecilia because  I do not know what really occurred during her time as CEO.
You have been canvasing for special treatment to be given to her.

Depilot:
Number 3. If you go through all the posts on this topic you'll notice that posters here have already concluded that Ms Cecilia is a thief and deserves every single thing she is currently going through.
There is a case against her, nobody made her to faint.  It is what every accussed person faces in Nigeria.  People (innocent victims) that are even raided by police just because they are in need of the bail money equally pass through similar and even worse scenarios

Depilot:
Number 4. My conclusion says:Regardless of the crime or who has been arrested, all we are saying is for the fed govt to completely acknowledge the human rights law through out this process.
This is the only way the outcome of the process or prosecution will be favorable to Nigeria and everyone of us.

So player, what are you talking about, what is wrong with you and where exactly are you from?
How was her right violated?  By detaining an accused? She was detained at the weekend and appear in court on monday.  People are detained for two weeks and more without seeing the court house over small issues as quarrelling or just because the rich wants to flex their wealth.

Think reasonably before posting, because not everyone here is a minor or slowpoke.  cool
