BascoVanVeli: Abeg somebody tell those boys to work on their goal celebrations, I no like am at all. Dey no know shoki? Lmao. To me that is the only place they lose to the last set this boys are just as capable, chai 5-1 in person country. u just said what was on my mind... Their goal celebration isn't good at all... I think de need to practice that too. Nacho set will always keep u on ur feet as u join them in celebration. T even came to point this a.m that i didn't even want any of them to celebrate cos d way osimhen was sliding/gliding on d pitch was scary-make e no carry injury na my concern o. But de did play better this morning. One more thing is that de need to improve on their final passes. |

TheSuperNerd: BREAKING NEWS!!!!!
The news may still be young and probably premature.... But Emmanuel Emenike has announced on "Instagram" his "retirement" from international football........
Meaning he would not be available for selection again as regards the Super Eagles.....
Source: africanfootball.com//news/577707/Emenike-quits-Eagles
But seriously, what's the "thing" with instagram and retirements these days..... Enyeama did same thru instagram. Now is Emenike....
Well, if u ask me... I don't think Emenike will be missed. We got Ighalo, Martins Obafemi(if invited), Isaac Success (what a goal he scored today... Granada is one "weak" team I must say. Success is too good for them), and a couple of others....
Well, let's see how things pan out.....
*smiles* wait o o o! Something is fishy about d sudden retirement of our heroes. Enyeama first n now Emenike hopes Efe, Echiejile n other E's won't follow suit cos t deems like we are on E!*smiles*. These came to my notice-two things is common to d way these guys are laying down d baton. 1-d social media retirement declation syndrome. 2-the 'for the sake of national peace' statement these guys are making. I just hope all is well. |

BascoVanVeli: Ok I have a question and i don't mind sounding naive as long as i get an answer. Is the CHAN for only the countries local players or players playing in Africa? Better yet can Emem Eduok play for Nigeria? players who ply their trade anywhere within the continent are eligible. |

mikron: still not back to Abuja, but I'm trying my best to post on nairaland. How did u see our boys performance today? I mean d golden Eaglets i'll rate their performance a little bit above average compared to d last set... Though they possessed d yanks through out d match and we came out a better side. The team needs an amf in order of nacho'13 who can spring killer passes for osimhen cos that dude is a fine finisher... Looking forward to the next game |

Are they all above 17 yrs now, can't some of them play at this year's tournament? good observation sir. At least that chidera eze n few others should have made the list he should still be within the age bracket. |

TheGoodJoe: Martins will do better than Emenike. one reason why he has not been given enough time(call up) in d NT is simply because 'he won't sit on d bench'- he is far better than d strikers keshi paraded during his reign as d eagles coach. So d only way out for keshi n nff to get their boys play is by not inviting him at all. '*Soccer godfatherism*' is a bane to our football. |

icon4ss: U call MLS competitive. U say retired and semi retired players? For ur info all d players I mentioned are still playing in Europe. The Osaze u are talking abt was even one of our best performers at d last WC jst barely over a yr ago. So if nt for injuries he still stands a better chance than Martins. Ameobi is currently in d books of Crystal Palace, John Utaka plays in French League2, Taye Taiwo plays in d Ukrainian top división, Ayila is some where in Eastern Europe I dnt know d where abt of Odiah since after he left CSKA.
The MLS is not even as competitive as d lower leagues in say France or Russia nt to talk of lower leagues in England, Spain and Germany . Martins in his current form cannot compete with young platers like: Isaac Success and Imoh Ezekiel even though they are less experienced. Where experience counts more is in goal keeping and defence.U think if Iheanacho was a defender he would b getting all d attention he is getting at ManCity? Forward positions are for fast adventurous players.
Drogber that won d MLS player of the minth, is he still featuring for d national team? When d likes of Thiery Henry, Robert Pirez & Nicholas Anielka went to d MLS they waved good bye to d national team. Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrad are currently playing in d MLS but are they still with d 3Lions?
Immediately u leave Europe and go to d MLS jst know u are now a pensioneer.
To me Emenike should even be released nt to talk of Martins.
I have always been an advocate of the clamour for fielding of our best players. But I also believe in fielding of players based on current form and nt past glory. With the likes of Mikel, Echiejile, Ambrose, V Moses, Onazi, Musa,Emenike, Omeruo and Obaobona still in dat team there is a lot of experience already. We jst need back Aluko and Babatunde in dat midfield and with d inclusion if some U20/U23 players and Ighalo that team is good to go. So forget Martins he is now a pensioneer.
cc: Bascovanveli it seems u have not been following d Major league soccer. D competitiveness cannot be compare with some european leagues like d scottish, eredivise, belgian league et al. T s currently at d same par with d italian league (no hyping)... A player should always make d NT base on merit n form and not age. |
