Hmmm... What can I call this?
Mehn that group is a kinda group Ghana, cote d'ivore n senegal won't pray to be... They must be smiling @us se we don enter one chance.

The last friendly matches our darling team played, was against d minnows in football(LUXEMBOURG N MALI) n our next match is against Tanzania in september(if i'm right). That means no room for big match prior to d qualifiers.
We need to win atleast all of our home matches before negotiating our chances of qualifying.

Our only hope of harnessing a strong n gelled team is d olympics. But with d list Sia1 just released today with our already established players not likely to be release has increased our odds of qualification.

Abeg make I sha keep quiet.

I don't even know what to say! Kudos to u guys that have been making the thread lively.

Hv been pessimistic about d way d coaches n nff are handling our national teams... I don't know why those who lack d knowledge of d game keep staying @ d helms of affairs. As long as these power-greedy people are there, I see us not making use of this gr8 opportunity of having a cluster of talented footballers all coming up almost @ dsame time. The external factors has always been d bane of our football.

My question is this:
what are our chances of going far in Rio's men's football game with clubs turning down d release of our lethal players?

So Siasia, the purported best local coach in Nigeria is also a flop...as expected.

I think the NFF needs to realize that these coaches have a validity period. Fine and good he won the U20 in 05 for us, but Mancini won the EPL for City in 2012 and he was still released when necessary.

Nigerian coaches are nothing like their foreign counterparts, they start out great and with lots of potential, but corruption, nepotism and favoritism eventually eats into them and destroys all that.

It has happened with Keshi, Manu and now Siasia and it will happen to Yusuf eventually. How many times will Siasia fail before the NFF realize what right-thinking members of society already know?- Siasia isn't that great, he's just average, not even as good as Amodu.

Anyway, if NFF are too occupied to sack Siasia and replace him with an interim coach, they should at least ensure he takes the likes of Iwobi, Kelechi and Success to Rio to lessen potential damage, cuz if a no-name Danish dude can get 3 goals into our net, I dread to think what the likes of Ibrahimovic, Neymar and Messi will do to Nigeria in the Olympics
i wonder ooo.
With the likes of Neymar Kaka Rafinha to feature for Brazil playing Obanor, seth Effiong etc against will only make our opponents spell n respell Pres. Buhari n d sports minister's name over n over again.

I'm joining d observation team.

Hosts Korea pip Nigeria U23s in Suwon tourney

https://africanfootball.com//bp_images/2016/06/Samm_3_Dec_3_150x150.jpg

Hosts Korea pipped Nigeria U23 team 1-0 in the opening match of the Suwon Invitational Tournament Thursday afternoon.

Both teams are preparing for the Rio Olympics in August.
The home team left it late till the 86 th minute to grab the match winner through Choi Kyubaek.

Poor finishing was Nigeria’s greatest undoing and in the end, they paid dearly for it.

Taiwo Awoniyi was Nigeria’s most dangerous striker in the first half, but for poor finishing he could have given the Dream Team VI the lead in the 36 th after great combination play with Godwin Saviour.

He fluffed another opening in the 20th minute.

Goalkeeper Emmanuel Daniel pulled a big save after half an hour.

Erhun Obanor was denied the post in the 55th minute with his header off a corner heading for goal.
Nigeria goalkeeper again came to the rescue of his team in the 62 nd minute.

Usman and substitute Tiongoli then wasted a sitter with the goalkeeper well beaten 10 minutes from time.

Starting XI:
Emmanuel Daniel – Sincere Seth, Stanley Amuzie, Saturday, Erhun Obanor – Azubuike Okechukwu, Usman Mohammed, Godwin Saviour (Emiloju 67), Stanley Dimgba (Ndifreke Effiong 67) – Ubong Ekpai (Nath Oduwa 37) (Tiongoli 76), Taiwo Awoniyi (Abdulrahman 76)

Siasia is a kind of guy. He may not even invite Success at all for camping. He can prefer to invite Awoniyi, Ajayi and Osimhen ahead of Success, Imoh, Samuel, Chikatara and b giving one kind yeye justification.

We are watching and waiting.
this is the same fear I harbour concerning Siasia's selection.

With the options we have in the attack I don't see any reason why we need to waste a slot for an overaged player in Ighalo.

Ighalo is good no doubt about that. But my problem with him is that 'he does not drop back to pick balls' and it showed glaringly in Alexandria not untill the introduction of Iwobi before there was smooth transition from d Mid-field to Attack.

The likes of success, sam, chik, Nacho have all grown up to perfectly well to face tough, muscular n stubborn defence line. so, no need of an overage CF in that team.

With natural water around, it would not take long before my oga start building his/her own house in the farm for weekend stay if not permanent stay. Sir, to me the only particular thing that makes a city a city is electricity, other things follow. I have this covered, its my hope that it will interest you. But if we have to start with a borehole, so be it, we can always get another farmland with a river or stream later, that may even be closer to you than you know. Iheanacho in action for Nigeria vs Egypt recently

Tuesday May 17, 2016. 15:33
Kelechi Iheanacho has said he believes Nigeria can strike gold again at the forthcoming Olympic Games in Rio, Brazil.

Nigeria became the first African country to win an Olympic football gold, when they won in Atlanta in 1996.

They also won a silver medal in 2008 in Beijing, China, after losing 1-0 to Argentina in the final.

And Manchester City forward Iheanacho has now told AfricanFootball.com the team could repeat the feat of 1996.

"I think we will have a strong team going to Brazil," said Iheanacho, who is on the provisional squad for the summer Games, which start in August 4.

"We have very good players at this level and I believe we can win (the gold) in Brazil."

The 19-year-old has had a remarkable debut season for Manchester City, scoring 14 goals in all competitions for ‘The Citizens’.

He is expected to make Nigeria's final 21-man squad to the Rio games along with close pal and Arsenal forward, Alex Iwobi.

Where should Siasia play the following players:-

Wilfred Ndidi:- Originally a CB. He's had a great season with Genk playing as a defensive Midfielder. Even scored a couple of Screamers and provided some assists. He was one of Genk's key players starting almost all their matches. Should he be used in Midfield just like at Genk or his original position which is CB?

Isaac Success:- Granada's player of the season has had a fantastic season tormenting LA liga full backs with his pace and trickery. Originally a CF but now transformed completely into a winger. He was even used more in Right/Left Midfield in a 442. His performance on d wings this seaaon have attracted top clubs like Valencia, A.Madrid and Watford. Should he be used on the wings or his initial position which is CF?
Note:- Success' finishing is now a shadow of his U17 days. He's now a poor finisher. Missed a lot of sitters this season

Kelechi Iheanacho:- A debut season not many predicted. 14 goals and 5 assists in just 11starts for Manchester City playing as a CF. Originally a very creative SS/CAM from his U17 days. So where should he be used? CF, SS, RWF,LWF or CAM?

Chidozie Awaziem:- Another Nigerian teenager that had a break-out season. 19yrs old Chidozie has been a revelation for Porto in d 2nd half of the season and now a regular starter in Central defence for Porto. Originally a Defensive Midfielder. He's very fast for a defender, tough-tackling, good vision and also a very good passer.
He's light weight though and could easily be bullied by huge CFs. Where should he be used? . In Central defence or in Midfield?
Gr8 analytical report!
Well done Sir.
But I don't really have a problem with these players' abilities to play in a multiple position(change/deploy or converted)

what keep scaring me is Siasia team Selection. If the above mention players can make the final squad list. It will be of
advantage to us, because these boys(SUCCESS, AWAZIEM, NDIDI, NACHO et al.) are still young and haven't lost the touch of their previous position they played in.

One more thing is that, having them to play or start a game together will be gr8 to watch as they will simply cause confusion to the opponents as it will be easy for them to swap position most especially Nacho, success, s. moses n Iwobi's abilities to play in more than one position will give our opponent's defence a good run for their money.

I simply hope Siasia will get t right one more time.

I'm simply laughing @ our local coaches, technical crew n d biggest culprit d NFF'9'

Is it not d same boy that went to Newzealand who was kicked to d bench after his first game? was it not d same lad that sat on the bench for d whole 90min in Alexandria? Was it not d same lad that wasn't given a chance in Oliseh's squad prior to d clamour for his inclusion in d die minute?

Oh No! Even the whites see a gr8 potential in him that made them to wrongly call for his inclusion in Roy's Euro'16 bound team... They see him to be an unsung hero ...

Oh my dear country!
If it were to be Nigeria coaches, the likes of rashford, Alli, barkley won't make d list. They will come out with excuses like 'they are too small, they lack experience, exposure and what it takes to play in a continental tournament and so on.'
and this is why I'll always clamour for a foreign Grade A coach to handle our National team till the time we can produce a world class indigenous one.
I REST MY CASE.
